I didn’t like that part at all. Sorry but it was a little unkind to not give her a warning and spring it on her while you’re already filming. Plus the comment didn’t necessarily say it was her that they found condescending. Jerry just said, “I think it was you” then couldn’t explain why. Oh well, no one is perfect but it was pretty odd to me.
Linda....as a retired teacher I have dealt with children and parents for over 40 years and I feel I read people well... you are not a condescending person ... sometimes insecure people tend to attack kind people... I have seen it in my own classroom ❤

Thank you for the great information. I'm from Oregon where we have fires and some earth quakes, so real time reports on this were extremely enlightening. Thank you for taking the time and effort to put them together in the middle of a threatening situation. :)
I live in Fort Myers, North of the airport. We didn't think it was going to hit here till the day of the storm. Even that morning, we were told Venice...which is still about an hour away, so we thought we'd get a brush. We evacuated for Irma, but rode this one out. Our house is block and 6 years old with tile roof and impact glass. We had minimal damage...just one screen detached from pool cage and some palm fronds down. Just like in Irma, we never lost power. It was a VERY long day and I think I was more afraid of losing power than the actual storm. We have a great community here, though, and we will come back from this.
The whistle is great for lost or injured hikers, too! And, Linda, you are never condescending, so don't let that BULLY Jane hurt your feelings. About location: We retired to 20 miles SE of Jacksonville and selected a place that is not on the water or in a flood plain. There was a beautiful place right on the bay in Fort Myers that we considered but decided against specifcally because of hurricanes and storm surge. Thank goodness! I'm praying for those people down there.

I'm in Orlando and we had a lot of flooding in our neighborhood. Kind neighbors built a barricade to stop water from flooding my garage. Finally got my car out of the garage on Saturday. Found a dead fish in my driveway! I feel truly blessed. I also have important papers in fireproof boxes ready to go.
Friends, in Maine,have a blueberry farm, on 88 acres, went for a walk, no phones, became lost on their on back yard, for hours LOL, came across two people, and asked for help, they were miles away, took two hours to walk home, carry a compass, water, and a phone now,but some times, can't get a signal, in the woods. Small sweet wild blueberries are the best, they made a deal with a Seafood restaurant, fresh organic blueberries for fish dinners, best of both worlds!

Moved here in November, Michael and I have been watching you for yrs. Before we moved and now that we are here, we moved for no snow , I walk with a cane , met you at st.carherine chili cook off earlier in the year, still watch faithfully. Love gizmo too. We live on the southern coast of Maine. My brother in law was visiting and passed away July of 2021. He wanted to be buried. From Boston to Arizona it would have cost $15,000 to fly him back. The decision to have him cremated was made. They carried the ashes back. Glad you were spared from the hurricane. The snowbirds should be leaving here soon!

One tip you may want to keep in mind for the next hurricane is for Gizmo. I saw on Facebook where someone took a child's pool and put some grass sod in the bottom. A place for Gizmo to use as a restroom during the storm

There is a Cemetery over by the adult Carolina pool, I rented there 4 years ago and they had people being buried there every couple of weeks or so 👍🏼but now I bought a home in Oxford behind Marshall’s and happy to now own instead of renting 🥰 I’m a widow but have rented for the last 15 years and like the area so much that I have decided to buy I have never felt unwelcome here in the Village’s I do go back up north during the hot summers, I love watching your TH-cam videos because you give me different ideas and places to go when I have company here and enjoy Linda’s relaxing funny moments 🥰 what is life if you can’t and don’t laugh once in awhile 🤣 I loved the movie theaters and will miss them 😢 hopefully we don’t lose the one in Lake Sumter at least keep one theater 🎭

I actually liked 👍🏼 the new format. It personally didn’t bother me either way, but for those who want to get down to business immediatly, the shout-outs and gizmo jokes at the end are probably more appropriate. I just enjoy the casual style of your show. I like seeing the photos of new residents and hearing your personal stories. You guys keep it real by supplying facts and your own experiences. Those whistles were a GREAT IDEA Linda! It sounds like y’all were well prepared. Maybe the garage foam was a good idea I’m thinking! The Villages were the first place in Florida that I thought of when the Ian struck. I’m so glad you and the Villages are ok! And NEITHER OF YOU ARE CONDESCENDING!! My goodness! Little Gizmo is just so sweet! He sits back there making those cute little noises, “I’m back here! Pay attention to me, I have to be up there talking too. I have lots of stuff to say!”
First, what a beautiful couple the two of you are. No one, no one gets it right all the time. Integrity is earned by apologizing when you realize that you made a mistake. So glad you guys were safe at your home. Well prepared Indiana style! Midwesterners have to prepare for ice storms, tornadoes, sheer wind damage, flood, snow storms, heat waves of 100+ degrees, etc. Midwesterners KNOW how to prepare for weather events. My 87 yo dad is in Venice, FL and is still without cell phone and electricity. Each day that passes compounds issues when you don't have amenities for basic living. After our ice storm in '07, I sent my entire family emergency preparedness food/items. Guess what my dad is using for survival now? When you live in Florida (and really anywhere nowadays...) you MUST be prepared for the worst and praise God when the safety blessings arise. NEVER skimp on emergency prepareness. Whistle--GREAT idea! In the darkness, wind blowing, rain pounding, flooding waters, in a damaged home you can find each other. More importantly, the rescue teams can find you! Ask any 1st responder who has to go into these disaster areas. If they hear a whistle they can find you and rescue you. Once again, great job with the show! Suggestion-fund raiser from your viewers to help those affected by the storm. Maybe several Village You Tube channels can come together and donate? You Tube channels are a family community. I am sure many would like to help.
I brought my 75 pound Labrador on my visit. Last minute changes meant she couldn't be boarded, and the villages was very gracious in making the change for me

Single best thing for preparation: a generator. I may only use it every 2-3 years, but when the power goes out I plug in the refrigerator, the chest freezer, a microwave, and the coffee maker, then the power strip to the home entertainment system and the internet gateway. I've been thru 9 hurricanes and the generator has been a lifesaver.

The braces that go across your garage door inside are there for hurricane protection but I always like your idea. 3. Is there a post office near the villages that you can physically go into? 4. I would prefer for Thursday show coming up the interviews of your cruise. 5. Next time Jerry when they say storm run and get plenty of cans of beef stew 😋. 6. Lost my house in Pensacola, FL in 2004-- Hurricaine Ivan-- been there done that! Been experiencing hurricaines growing up in Ocean Springs, Misissippi, on Davis Bayou with Hurricaines since Camille, Frederick, Eleana, Katrina..( and a few others ). Be prepared-- season is June to November

My wife and I both enjoy your channel. We live in South Texas at present, two miles from the Mexican border in the Rio Grande Valley. I am a wildlife painter/writer and study the Valley's native wild parrots, while she is Curator of Birds at the zoo here. We're late 50s now, thinking of an eventual move to Central Florida. I have my heart set on becoming a Florida author.
Just a tip to move a grill like that on grass without lifting it....get a large, and I mean large box, larger than what you are moving, flatten it and put it on the grass. Lifet the grill and put it on the box, then just pull/slide the box with the grill on top to the garage! I've done this with large furniture!

There is a Cemetery over by the adult Carolina pool, I rented there 4 years ago and they had people being buried there every couple of weeks or so 👍🏼but now I bought a home in Oxford behind Marshall’s and happy to now own instead of renting 🥰 I’m a widow but have rented for the last 15 years and like the area so much that I have decided to buy I have never felt unwelcome here in the Village’s I do go back up north during the hot summers, I love watching your TH-cam videos because you give me different ideas and places to go when I have company here and enjoy Linda’s relaxing funny moments 🥰 what is life if you can’t and don’t laugh once in awhile 🤣 I loved the movie theaters and will miss them 😢 hopefully we don’t lose the one in Lake Sumter at least keep one theater 🎭

I actually liked 👍🏼 the new format. It personally didn’t bother me either way, but for those who want to get down to business immediatly, the shout-outs and gizmo jokes at the end are probably more appropriate. I just enjoy the casual style of your show. I like seeing the photos of new residents and hearing your personal stories. You guys keep it real by supplying facts and your own experiences. First, what a beautiful couple the two of you are. No one, no one gets it right all the time. Integrity is earned by apologizing when you realize that you made a mistake. So glad you guys were safe at your home. Well prepared Indiana style! Midwesterners have to prepare for ice storms, tornadoes, sheer wind damage, flood, snow storms, heat waves of 100+ degrees, etc. Midwesterners KNOW how to prepare for weather events. My 87 yo dad is in Venice, FL and is still without cell phone and electricity. Each day that passes compounds issues when you don't have amenities for basic living. After our ice storm in '07, I sent my entire family emergency preparedness food/items. Guess what my dad is using for survival now? When you live in Florida (and really anywhere nowadays...) you MUST be prepared for the worst and praise God when the safety blessings arise. NEVER skimp on emergency prepareness. Whistle--GREAT idea! In the darkness, wind blowing, rain pounding, flooding waters, in a damaged home you can find each other. More importantly, the rescue teams can find you! Ask any 1st responder who has to go into these disaster areas. If they hear a whistle they can find you and rescue you. Once again, great job with the show! Suggestion-fund raiser from your viewers to help those affected by the storm. Maybe several Village You Tube channels can come together and donate? You Tube channels are a family community. I am sure many would like to help.

I brought my 75 pound Labrador on my visit. Last minute changes meant she couldn't be boarded, and the villages was very gracious in making the change for me

Single best thing for preparation: a generator. I may only use it every 2-3 years, but when the power goes out I plug in the refrigerator, the chest freezer, a microwave, and the coffee maker, then the power strip to the home entertainment system and the internet gateway. I've been thru 9 hurricanes and the generator has been a lifesaver.

1. I prefer the shout outs first and mail bag last keep doing your style.
2. The braces that go across your garage door inside are there for hurricane protection but I always like your idea.
3. Is there a post office near the villages that you can physically go into?
4. I would prefer for Thursday show coming up the interviews of your cruise.
5. Next time Jerry when they say storm run and get plenty of cans of beef stew 😋.
6. Seems like Gizmo was very talkative today from beginning to the end of the show but now I know why he wanted to be the star of it to show off his new collar.

My wife and I both enjoy your channel. We live in South Texas at present, two miles from the Mexican border in the Rio Grande Valley. I am a wildlife painter/writer and study the Valley's native wild parrots, while she is Curator of Birds at the zoo here. We're late 50s now, thinking of an eventual move to Central Florida. I have my heart set on becoming a Florida author.

Just a tip to move a grill like that on grass without lifting it....get a large, and I mean large box, larger than what you are moving, flatten it and put it on the grass. Lifet the grill and put it on the box, then just pull/slide the box with the grill on top to the garage! I've done this with large furniture!
