Agree, they make The Villages reviews informative and entertaining. Still undecided but eventually we will take that visitor package and see if we can get serious about it. So far from beaches (30 mins) and airport (6 mins) for us now. Hanging around folks our own age is compelling. We live in unrestricted but the younger set is not as friendly/engaging as we older folks. I suppose not spending our waking hours staring at an iPhone and seeing what is real and live around us
Jerry- we had a recirculating pump installed right on top of our water heater - very small in size and has a 3 way timer. It provides instant hot water to our entire house. Mike Scott Plumbing did it for under $500 in December. Best purchase we ever made here for the house!!
Carmel Indiana has the first place in number of roundabouts. My hubby and I moved to Carmel Indiana for six months while our house in Westfield IN was in construction. My hubby used to hate the roundabouts but after some time He became an expert driving around. Now He loves them.
Hi Jerry & Linda! Regarding the renters, I understand the problem is that management companies that handle these transactions allow young people (20 and 30 somethings) to rent. If I bought a house in The Villages, a 55+ community, I would expect that at least one person would be in that age group. That's where the problems seem to be occurring with rentals. I understand your comment. But the villages are as popular as it is. It's not 55+ Watch some of the other videos. There are too many rules and regulations for me though. I can Agree with the standards though. This is a commitment to living there.

Thank you for being real ( like many of your viewers). Shopping at Walmart is what many do because they watch the bottom line - no apology required. Also using a colloquialism is nothing to require an apology. The people that have to shame you for being real need to get some real problems. I so appreciate you both.
You can use a drawing salve which you can purchase at the pharmacy to draw out the stinger or you can make your own salve with olive oil, sugar and some shavings of Dial soap. Put on stinger and cover - within a few hours it will draw out the stinger.
My daughter in law just turned 40 a couple of months ago, Linda, and gave birth to her and my oldest son's first baby last month! She and my (42 year old) son must think 40 is the new 30, so I guess 70 must be the new "middle age" for us (I wish!) Love the Linda, Jerry and Gizmo shows and watch each week! ❤❤

We are renting there for the month of May (👏🏻👏🏻) and as folks who have had renters in our properties, we treat places we rent as if they were our own. We try to leave on trash pickup day, leave a small bag with a neighbor, or take it with us. It’s not hard to be thoughtful. Our future landlord sent us very detailed procedures and rules for the property we will be staying in. Too bad folks can’t follow the rules. We are looking forward to our visit!

Hi Folks - We've been staying at The Villages as short term renters for years. We usually stay 1-3 months, from U.K. We did notice laterally that Villagers seem less happy to share some facilities - not as welcoming as prior years I hope you realise that some renters really do appreciate that we are visitors and just enjoying spending time with our American friends

I believe that Carmel, IN is the roundabout capitol. About 10 yrs ago, when I was teaching my daughter to drive, I made her drive to hockey practice in Carmel. I had forgot that we would be going thru a roundabout. It was a double lane one and of course another car came up next to us. She screamed thru the whole roundabout. We made it thru with no incident, thankfully. She was so mad at me that I had made her drive, but I think it helped her become a better driver :) As a matter of fact, she went on to get her CDL to drive the big rigs!
Ok i had to add one more thing when your glorious morning is 70 ° think of us up north because that means our morning is 50 , actually tonight its 45 bur , cant wait to get there
I ALWAYS enjoy your blog!! Just an FYI regarding that beautiful 🌵. Those "bumps" just below the blooms will be edible fruit. When they turn red, they are ripe. They make a great jam... or jelly if you find them too "seedy". The flavor is something like figs. Use kitchen tongs to harvest them and "singe" any remaining spines. Hope you have a chance to enjoy some. ❤️
Regarding the scratches on your sunglasses...take a small amount of toothpaste, NOT the gel, and gently rub with your fingers all over the lens. Rinse in water, and gently dry with a soft cloth. That always gets the scratches out of my sunglasses. You may have to repeat. Give it a try! They will sparkle and shine!
Buy a small tube of baby teething gel that you rub on their gums. Rub some on the area of Linda's "bottom" before you start picking at it to get the stinger out. It will really make it less painful. Just a helpful hint.

Add a whole house surge they will protect your electronics and more! As far as lighting rods they work but are very expensive to install because of material costs.They do not lighting rods attract ,but displace it through your rods to ground!

I think people worry too much about renters/airbnb and snowbirds. I now live in two places that this happens. My Maine home is in a sleepy town that explodes in Summer, Fall and Snowmobile season. I don't see this as an issue or troublesome. Florida is a HUGE Snowbird state and Maine is Vacation Land. It's part of life!

The first round a bout that this country boy ever encountered was in Carmel Indiana. I didn't know what to do. I figured it out though. Now they are everywhere.
I love 41 minute shows! Or any length. We just got home from a lifestyle visit. We got hooked on golf cart rides. What a way to visit a place! We kept looking for you three but no sightings. We had such a great first visit. We know what style of home we like so fingers crossed.
Great show . I don’t mind long videos because it’s more to love. Forget all those negative people. Some aren’t happy unless they are complaining. Hey Gizmo - I’ll be sending some jokes soon. 😂
Linda living in sunny Florida you need a good pair of sunglasses. I just ordered some online from Shady Rays. They are polarized and really nice! Under $40. So worth it!
You're both so fun to watch. Get you some Dollar Tree store sun glasses. They are cute and buy 3 or 4 pair for a lot less than one expensive pair. That way if you leave them or break them, they're easy to replace. I have a bowl full of them by my front door. That way if anyone forgets theirs, they can take a pair. My neighbor has pitchers by the kitchen sink and puts the water in them to sprinkle the flowers etc. while waiting for the water to turn hot. You don't waste the water that way :)
There’s always one (sometimes there are a few) 🤷♀️, what are you gonna do? Good folks are always going to see the best, try not to worry about the rest.
You can see manatees at Blue Springs State Park they have a boardwalk right over the spring area. Close to DeLand, which was voted Best Downtown ♥️ Also the home of Stetson University and the home of John B Stetson. An absolutely beautiful mansion, definitely a must see at Christmas time. Time it with cold weather for the manatees 👍🏻👍🏻
We rent through VRBO and we are reminded by the owners of the lay of the land (not that we need to be). We also play a cleaning fee so when we check out the home gets cleaned for the next person so any trash we hadn’t tackled would be taken care of by them. On the roundabouts we saw the aftermath of a bad accident on Buena Vista which looked like a golf cart had roamed out of the gate. ☹️
There is a pause or stop button that we can all push if it's not to our liking. Speaking for myself, I enjoy every show and learn something too. Thank you both for your time and energy to put this on 2 times a week for us! It is a treat and I look forward to it and seeing you both whether its picking up groceries or a cart ride. As a matter of fact, the cart ride trip to Walmart was hilarious. I am short and saw that show through Jerry's eyes and height, Loved it and both of you. Thank you again.

There is a man in the villages that will put the dark colored visors on your cart, very inexpensive. He is the same man that sells the golf cart screens We actually love the visors they help with the glare.
Hmmm. Fire Ant or a Bee is the likely thing that stung you where you sit down Linda. Free advice regarding Sunglasses: Market of Marion flea market up the road between The Villages and Ocala, for good quality and a low price. A shop there has rows so good variety of styles and kinds. Most were $5 but may be higher now as it has been a couple of years since I was there.
Oh also - I liked the mall at Apopka which is not too far from The Villages. Apple Store there back 2 years ago. I no longer am in FL so don't know if this is still so.
I'm happy with the longer shows. The only improvement I can see would be to have some commentary during the long golf cart drives because it can get a little bit boring. Maybe tell us what areas you are passing or a tidbit about that particular part of the development. THANKS

I love your channel. I feel like I’m visiting with you every Monday. I’ll never get to move to The Villages but you sure make it appealing. I was waiting to enter a roundabout when a golf cart entered going the WRONG way!! My heart stopped cold. Fortunately no one was coming and it managed to get out of the roundabout before it got hit head on. I think people should have to take a class in cart and round about procedures. Now that snowbirds are starting to come back the roundabouts gonna get really interesting.
The trip to Walmart was one of my favorite videos. You should have just fibbed and said the guy was Jose. LOL!! People are so funny. Anyhoo...just love watching your videos and your sense of humor is wonderful!!

Add a whole house surge they will protect your electronics and more! As far as lighting rods they work but are very expensive to install because of material costs.They do not lighting rods attract ,but displace it through your rods to ground!

I think people worry too much about renters/airbnb and snowbirds. I now live in two places that this happens. My Maine home is in a sleepy town that explodes in Summer, Fall and Snowmobile season. I don't see this as an issue or troublesome. Florida is a HUGE Snowbird state and Maine is Vacation Land. It's part of life!

The first round a bout that this country boy ever encountered was in Carmel Indiana. I didn't know what to do. I figured it out though. Now they are everywhere.
I love 41 minute shows! Or any length. We just got home from a lifestyle visit. We got hooked on golf cart rides. What a way to visit a place! We kept looking for you three but no sightings. We had such a great first visit. We know what style of home we like so fingers crossed.

Linda living in sunny Florida you need a good pair of sunglasses. I just ordered some online from Shady Rays. They are polarized and really nice! Under $40. So worth it!
Try Walmart’s fishing section for sunglasses! They are the best! Mine look like ray bans 😎
You're both so fun to watch. Get you some Dollar Tree store sun glasses. They are cute and buy 3 or 4 pair for a lot less than one expensive pair. That way if you leave them or break them, they're easy to replace. I have a bowl full of them by my front door. That way if anyone forgets theirs, they can take a pair. My neighbor has pitchers by the kitchen sink and puts the water in them to sprinkle the flowers etc. while waiting for the water to turn hot. You don't waste the water that way :)

You can see manatees at Blue Springs State Park they have a boardwalk right over the spring area. Close to DeLand, which was voted Best Downtown ♥️ Also the home of Stetson University and the home of John B Stetson. An absolutely beautiful mansion, definitely a must see at Christmas time. Time it with cold weather for the manatees 👍🏻👍🏻

We rent through VRBO and we are reminded by the owners of the lay of the land (not that we need to be). We also play a cleaning fee so when we check out the home gets cleaned for the next person so any trash we hadn’t tackled would be taken care of by them. On the roundabouts we saw the aftermath of a bad accident on Buena Vista which looked like a golf cart had roamed out of the gate. ☹️

There is a pause or stop button that we can all push if it's not to our liking. Speaking for myself, I enjoy every show and learn something too. Thank you both for your time and energy to put this on 2 times a week for us! It is a treat and I look forward to it and seeing you both whether its picking up groceries or a cart ride. There is a man in the villages that will put the dark colored visors on your cart, very inexpensive. He is the same man that sells the golf cart screens We actually love the visors they help with the glare.
Hmmm. Fire Ant or a Bee is the likely thing that stung you where you sit down Linda. Free advice regarding Sunglasses: Market of Marion flea market up the road between The Villages and Ocala, for good quality and a low price. A shop there has rows so good variety of styles and kinds. Most were $5 but may be higher now as it has been a couple of years since I was there.
Oh also - I liked the mall at Apopka which is not too far from The Villages. Apple Store there back 2 years ago. I no longer am in FL so don't know if this is still so.
I'm happy with the longer shows. The only improvement I can see would be to have some commentary during the long golf cart drives because it can get a little bit boring. Maybe tell us what areas you are passing or a tidbit about that particular part of the development. THANKS

Love your show, even when I have to wait a few days to see it!! I totally agree with you -- Lake Sumter Landing is the top spot in The Villages. I also love taking visitors down Buena Vista because the drive through the live oaks is gorgeous. Thanks so much for the suggestions of nearby places of interest, too. We've enjoyed driving through Mt. Dora. Sounds like we ought to stop and see the sites!

I was waiting to enter a roundabout when a golf cart entered going the WRONG way!! My heart stopped cold. Fortunately no one was coming and it managed to get out of the roundabout before it got hit head on. I think people should have to take a class in cart and round about procedures.
Now that snowbirds are starting to come back the roundabouts gonna get really interesting.
