I love going to coin shops on the road it’s funny to see how differently they all do business even with the two (actually there’s 3 in the same block) just how different they run there shops the first place was a small little mom and pops old school shop the second one was a brokerage and was huge with 12 employees it’s actually in the old CC Carson City mint building and the original press was in it very cool
Oh man, that really sucks to hear about the one ounce silver bars. Part of the reason I enjoyed collecting them is that you could find some real gems at local coin shops for good money. I have going to Carson City on my bucket list! So awesome you are there!
Bro I have had the worst luck looking for these bars I don’t know what’s going on it’s crazy . I’m not giving up though . The first shop had some engelhards but wanted 45 ea the second shop sold my one for 29 ea and the Clayton was 25.50 but on eBay is worth way more then the engelhard. 2 years ago I could find buckets of these bars for dirt cheap. Times are changing. Yeah Carson City is amazing my sister lives 30 minutes away so I get to stop there a couple times a year wonderful place and the coin shops are awesome there’s a third shop down the street but we ran out of time take care brother

LCS gotta make ChaChing but The U S MINT need not bend us over. This regime all around sucks. FJB and his merry band of antagonists & thieves
Both of the Nevada pieces are manufactured by David Emslie of Prospectors Gold and Gems in Colorado. The shop owner told me this when I purchased a couple. I seriously doubt the Silver is Nevada sourced.
In regards to the TH-cam publicity, if a store stops stocking the things we are looking for, they are shooting themselves in the foot. Maybe they will end up as ebay sellers and just close their store. Gotta make money though, so we will find something else to collect if needed, they THEY will be out in the cold. I am an Ebay seller myself, and after the fees, shipping, packing materials, and time, its more profitable to sell the bars for 3-4 dollars over spot retail, than for DOUBLE spot on Ebay.
