- The U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team preform at the FIDAE 2022 Air & Trade Show in Santiago, Chile, April 5-10, 2022. The team is led by pilot and commander Maj. Joshua “Cabo” Gunderson, and the team is stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Hampton, VA. The F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team performs precision aerial maneuvers at airshows across the world to demonstrate the unique capabilities of the world's premier 5th generation fighter aircraft. The team consists of the pilot, safety officer, superintendent, team chief, multiple crew chiefs, and avionics specialists, public affairs and aircrew flight equipment technicians.

I have a friend who is an F-22 pilot. He said that what you see at the airshow does not even scratchbthe surface of the capabilities of this jet. I believe him.
I believe it. I saw it at an airshow last year and it seemed like it was “yawning” through its routine if you know what I mean. Still entertaining, but I could tell there’s way more on tap.

Yes, I too have a friend who drives an F22-powered Honda Accord from the 90's. It handles pretty well I suppose.

I'm a pilot in the USAF, I've had the privilege to fly the F22, it is an amazing experience, it feels leagues ahead of another fighter jet, so responsive and feels light to manover.
So what. Until you have flown both, your opinion is strictly anecdotal. The F-22 is nearing the end of its life. If it could do what other planes could do, we would have seen it.
The Russians were doing better stuff than this 20 years ago.
Can the Jet perform at higher capabilities than pilots can handle with other protective equipment??

In all ways, F-22 Raptor looks majestic and its sky manoeuvers are amazing. All credit goes to the pilot and his team for a wonderful display of its prowess in the sky.

@@user-qp9jf2lk3v hate to break it to you ruski but if you see the F22, it's because the pilot wanted you to see it. This can be said about a few of our aircraft, but the F22 was designed specifically for dogfighting. You can't beat it.
When America competes in international war games, we literally have to add extra weight to the F22 to make the games fair.
It is the scariest thing with wings since the cretaceous period. If you see B-52s in the sky, just know the raptor is out there somewhere, and they knew you were there before you even saw the bomber.

Gets my vote, for what is worth, probably not that much, as the coolest, baddest, aircraft ever concieved of, and put into service. A magnificent aircraft, no doubt about it.
I get that these jets are expensive to operate and maintain, and unproven in combat but i just want these jets to remain in the US air force just for at least another 2 decades

The U S. Military is so strong. The F22 Raptor is amazing watch. The pilots are to be Thanked everyday. I honor them with gratitude for what they accomplish for America. WOW!! I am so proud of our MILITARY!! But I have to admit, I am kinda partial to our PILOTS!! It gives me an adrenaline rush just watching them! I couldn't imagine what it feels like to actually be in one of those Majestic Beasts!

@@elwingy It was a pretty integral to creating the country we live in so I don't see how that's weird. What's so strange about people being proud of something that's world class? The history can get a bit fucked but at least we aren't currently using our military to conquer and takeover other sovereign nations. If that's what we wanted to do I'm almost positive it would be much easier and quicker than other nations currently conducting special military operations.

Как по мне Раптор самый красивый боевой истребитель и этому самолёту 30 лет!
Интересный факт про него - это самолет "на вес золота" в буквальном смысле слова. Потому что в момент производства самолет и такая же масса чистого золота стоили одинаково. Поэтому и отказались от дальнейшего производства в 2011 году, сделав только 195 самолетов. Игрушка получилась безумно дорогой.

8 years ago I saw a F-22 raptor slowly fly into the Honolulu airport in Hawaii and go vertical and stop in mid air a walk on its tail forward and backward and then level off horizontally and fly away twice! Unbelievable!
I saw one taking off at Honolulu too a few years ago when visiting, he was going full vertical right after take off - freaking amazing!

These multi-million dollar machines are incredible. And, the pilots, holy smokes, they're NASA quality.
The F22 is dayumed LOUD though. I grew up a few miles from an AF base, before the prohibition of supersonic flight over populated areas. I grew up being familiar with the sonic boom. But these things create a ruckus just running down the runway for takeoff.
Haven't heard much from them since Hurricane Michael wiped the base out. That will change.

Makes you wonder what kinda freaky stuff can this plane really do.
As insane as those maneuvers are, keep in mind this isn't even close to the actual maneuverability of this plane, the total of what it can do isn't allowed at these shows. With all its new upgrades, this is the boss in the sky. Sheer speed, power, stealth and maneuverability it's unmatched.

In today's war, planes are a waist of money. Cruise missiles are the next big thing. Just like how the military no longer use horses. Modern war will be boring and destructive.
No kidding. The F-22 can do much more radical manuvers. The throttle probably didn't go over 50%. It can go from 200 knots to mach 1.5 in ten seconds. At 500 meters from the deck. No other pair of air craft can defeat it. 🤓

Yep the Su35 has pretty good aerobatics, especially when it's been hit by an air ground-to-air missile. Its quite the sight to see.

As I was an AF Pilot flying F-16's back in the early 80's, the aircraft we have now like the F22 and F35 believe me this.... No Country will ever win their war they may begin against us not only because of our USAF but all of our military forces. Period...

Keep in mind this is the approved routine for air shows, that must be strictly followed. What they allow us to see doesn't even scratch the surface of this jets true performance capabilities.

Excellent angles of attack; good turning radius. It is true that the flat spin, hovering at zero speed and sliding tail down from a vertical position are missing from the figures, but perhaps this is simply an insufficient pilot class, and not a glider fault. A worthy plane, a very worthy plane - a strong weapon!
Super F-22 is definitely a winner!

I still find it hard to believe F-22 production was halted. Such an outstanding aircraft. Makes you wonder what they have on the drawning boards as a replacement.
I was able to see one fly for about 1/2 hour at the Selfridge ANG airshow this past weekend. HOLY COW!!! Yikes! Amazing!

Ich kenne die F22 aus der Sim "JSF" dort wurde sie als Wingman für die F35 und X32b eingeplant. Ich fliege/flog sie gerne. Sie ist schnell ,sehr agil im rollen und neigen. Mit der kann man richtig gut aufräumen. Nur überladen sollte man sie nicht - die ist leichter als die anderen beiden. Sie hat dadurch auch einen größeren Operationsradius. Ich mag JSF und kenne das Projekt seit 1988/89. be care & good luck! 🤩 ♣️ 💪
