- During the preparations for the Zhuhai Airshow on November 9, 2024, the Russian Su-57 performed a rehearsal, with its superb flying skills causing all spectators to gasp in awe.
The pilot this time is Serghey Bogdan, who is 62 years old. He is the chief test pilot at the Sukhoi Design Bureau’s Flight Test Center. In 2011, he was awarded the titles of “Hero of Russia” and “Honored Test Pilot” by the Russian government for his outstanding performance in testing and promoting new aviation weaponry for the Russian military.
It's funny to read comments, such as "it's low-speed maneuverability will kills the plane in a real dog-fight!" Guys, this is just shows how powerfull and perfect-aerodynamics is has, and how mindblowing powerful its engines.
Every plane get better uplifting force than faster it moves and best of all, if it moves in "classic" position: cocpit to the sky, gears to the ground.
This plane may allow itself do any aerobatics at the speed close to the zero. Any other plane such manner just fall down as a stone, or find itself in a flat spin and crashed.
Su57 can repeat any of this maneuver at any speed, it depends more on the pilot abilitiy to withstand overloads, than the same plane constuctions abilities.
No one missile, no one other jet-fighter could repeat the same. Not even in dog-fight, just mid range air combat such maneurverability gives the Su57 pilot chance to fight on it's own rules. Immidiate change of moving vector, drammatic change of flying hight, flat turns of 360 degrees - it's just another chance to got aim-locked and shoot short-range missile. Not just spray with gun.
Jet-fighter weight is more then 25 metric tons. Full loaded - close to 35 tons, I suppose. Such hippo flying as a butterfy - it's mind-blowing.

I've seen plenty of airshows here in the US. F-22's, F/A-18's, F-16's, you name it. Even had a two ship loose formation of F-35's fly low over the interstate highway while I was trucking in Arizona on my way to California about a month ago.
They don't even come close to this. This video had me more in awe than watching those US aircraft in person. Absolutely magnificent display! The Russians always put on a great show! 💪🇷🇺

亮点太多啦，飞机牛，矢量推力发动机牛、飞控软件牛，驾驶员更牛。
极短距起飞，接大仰角拔高（极限G力），然后是一系列过失速机动动作，
落叶飘、眼镜蛇、J-turn、垂直悬停等等，基本上该有的都有了。
一次做那么多种超机动动作在任何航展上都是非常难得一见的，
这次去看航展的朋友真的有福啦，能看到顶级的飞行性能展示表演。
最关键，这特么还不是量产机，还是第一批次的其中一架原型机，
苏霍伊的实力还是摆在那里的。

i have been to other airshows... F 35 or Eurofighter offer the same... A lot is possible today with the right software... However, modern air defence missiles are better... They don't react to flares and can withstand more than 100 g gravity..

A lot of these maneuvers mean nothing. An actual engagement will be at a distance. Having said that, I think it is a sexy ass fighter, but an F-22 or F-35 will take it out

По итогу, очень неприятно были разочарованы, после встречи с нашими МиГ-ами в небе над Вьетнамом. Ракеты - это всего лишь электронная "фиговина", которую можно обмануть средствами радиоэлектронной борьбы или сбить с толку ловушками (а так же, маневрированием). Средства постановки помех совершенствуются так же быстро, как и сами ракеты. Нету ничего более надёжного, чем опытный летчик, сверхманёвренная машина и 30 мм снаряд от пушки. Это было, есть и будет, с самых азов начала авиации.

All demonstration flights Sergey Bogdan have done with 50% of fuel( 100% is 12 tons) .Max dynamic thrust on Full Afterburner mode of AL-41F1 in troposphere is about 18000kgf . Now math will tell you all about thrust to weight ratio and SEP or Specific Excess Power.
I wrote earlier that this prototype number 054 blue achieved some record breaking results. First he achieved initial rate of climb record of 384m/s at 1000m . Then he climbed to 24400m for about 5 mins. After that, test pilot turned in sustained turn with constant 10G within 10sec.He've done that at 1000m alt.

Hello from the US here. Absolutely stunning performance of the Su-57 and the pilot was incredible. I especially enjoyed his super smooth touch down when he landed. Enjoy this jet for what they did which was put on an awesome airshow experience. This demonstration showed the extreme maneuverability and control this jet is capable of. No jet is going to do these maneuvers in combat so let's not even go there and I'm sure they have long range missiles the same as we do.

Ein wunderbares Flugzeug und vor allem der Pilot ist ein echter Experte was den Umgang mit dieser Maschine angeht. Technisch führend und seine Flugleistungen zeigen was formidable Ingenieurleistung vollbringen kann. Allein das sich die SU57 vor kurzem völlig unbemerkt einer Natotransportmaschine bis auf wenige Meter näher konnte und kurz darauf wieder plötzlich verschwand, zeigt die Stealthfähigkeiten und die Flugleistungen der Maschine.
Die aggressiven Kommentare allerdings hier sind unangemessen. Es ist ein stetiger Wettkampf um die besten Waffensysteme weil der vermeintliche Gegner eingeschüchtert werden soll. Amerikaner und Russen sind bereits seit dem kalten Krieg im Wettstreit damit. Schläft ein jeder von uns Völkern damit besser, zu wissen das man mit seinen tollen Raketen, Panzern und Jets andere besser überwältigen kann. Am Ende sind viele tot, vieles ist zerstört und nur wenig damit an Gutem für uns einfache Menschen gewonnen. Die Nutznießer sind immer die Reichen und Mächtigen der Welt.

Naja an eine Transportmaschine unbemerkt auf ein paar Meter ran fliegen, das schaff ich auch mit meiner Cessna. Weil eine Transportmaschine keine Radarsysteme besitzt. Das ist wie, als würde man verstecken spielen, aber niemand sucht nach einem. Dann ist man quasi immer perfekt versteckt und wird nie gefunden... weil man ja auch nicht gesucht wird.
Aussagen über die Stealthfähigkeit so einer Maschine kann man erst machen, wenn man es entweder im Labor testen konnte, oder sehr viel Erfahrungswerte auf einem richtigen Schlachtfeld sammeln konnte. Das wird bei den nichtmal 10 SU-57, die es wohl zur Zeit gibt, etwas schwierig.

This is prototype T50-4 hence the 054 number, and it was built to test various flight systems, panel alignment was not a factor as later prototypes were built for this purpose. The exposed bolts (not rivets) that you see are visible on f22 & f35 pre production jets too, and they're also visible on production jets also. To keep the bolts hidden they actually use RAM tape and/or RAM putty that simply covers them over, Russia uses a similar principle on the SU57. Without these bolts maintenance of modern jets would be impossible as they're required for access. In regards to the video that was filmed close up, its showing a prototype and the fact Russia allowed the video to be taken so close up means there's nothing secretive about prototype 054. I can guarantee you would not be able to film close up to a production example. Also you can tell it's a prototype because it has 3 number designation where production airframes gave 2 digit designations.
