The 370z is awesome. A proper true sports car. I see about 10 to 20 Rustangs and Camaros on my way to work everyday, but about 1 370z every other day. Love the handling, dynamics and the way it looks. Totally awesome! Go Nissan!
I've had my yellow Z for about 5 months and it indeed is an eye catcher as well as a joy to drive. Any sports car enthusiast will agree this is a superb car.
I bought a new 2019 all-black 370Z sport coupe 6M about a year ago and love it. I had owned a Porsche 944S in the 90s, a great car, but this far surpasses that car. My Z puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.
when the 350Z came out there was a lot of debate about it. POS for some, 911-performance for a third of the price for others (not my words, it's Tiff Needell's) But when the 370Z came out, it's like no one cared anymore. And I have to say, I very rarely see one. Looks better in every way... isn't it ?
youre right, you hardly ever see these, and i live in a huge city (houston). like i said above, i bought one when they very first came out in 09 and expected to see tons of them everywhere on the road within a few months after release. now i have the 2016 nismo tech 370 and still never see any other 370z's. the cars look better in person, and everyone who has ever remarked on my z's have said they looked beautiful and very expensive. i even recall when i was looking at the dealerships back when i bought my first 370z people saying (and i quote verbatim) "oh sh*t! that thing looks NASTY (he meant it as slang for 'good')! that b*tch look like a porsche!". i have no idea why they never caught on aside from the fact that i guess they never really advertised for them that much. i would say its because not many want a 2-seater, but the 350z sold like hotcakes.
only seen 3 370z in my entire life..Ive been looking for a new experience for my next ride, coming from my only cars, Infinit J3oT & Lexus SC400, I thought, next will be a boxy 4WD, something different..but..its looking like 370Z will be next for me. Ive grown so accustomed to sport handling & Japanese quality build refinement
Still a respectable car to this day. And the 7AT is actually a good transmission behind the VQ. Good tires and you’ll see 12.80s all day at 107-109 Mph
yeah I love mine, gears 1-2-3 are perfectly spaced. I wish 4th gear wasn't so tall, and 5th to follow. 7th could actually be taller as most cruising in my area on the freeways puts you at 80+ mph, but prob wouldn't want to lug the engine along either.
@@07wrxtr1 yeah I agree, 1st is perfect for getting off the line fast but 2nd could be a tick taller to 60mph, I’d prefer. 5th is way too for acceleration and 7th is almost pointless. I think it drops about 300rpm from 6th to 7th. Not to mention the car tops out at 155 which is in 5th.
I had one from 2009 to 2018 only 32K miles (summer toy) but all I ever put in (not incl mods 😬) was gas, oil and air in the tires. Very reliable and exciting car.
I just bought a 370Z (2011) and I absolutely wanted THAT front bumper , shark mouth … The 2013 revised bumper with fog lights is not as agressive looking !!! I love ❤️ my 370Z !
I've had my 370 for about a year and a half now. I still get as excited driving it every day as I did the first day I bought it. Just an excellent car and good bang for buck. FYI, those numbers posted by Motorweek are a little high. This car can do 0-60 in under 5 secs. and the 1/4 mile should be closer to 13.1 (my friend's stock 370 did it in 12.9). To the person who made the Z28 comment, understand that with the Z it's not all about pure straight line power (as the Z28 excels at), but is
Fantastic review! I test drove the 350z back in the day.. and it just seemed like I had to really thrash it to make it go fast.. vs. my current Porsche Boxster.. my daily driver BMW e90 3 series sedan is just so smooth, luxurious and comfy for commuting and long hauls... I prolly will never find another like it.. the new Z looks worth taking another crack at.
I really like this car's looks but I never liked Nissans before. This car will make current 350Z owners either very envious, jealous, or will make them trade up to a 370Z.
Just realized it’s been on this generation for 10 years. Imagine that, a full decade whereas the 350z before it only had about half. That being said there’s not much to improve on design wise at this stage. Internal combustion, RWD, naturally aspirated, reliable, reasonably affordable sports cars have basically been perfected by the Z line.
That describes it perfectly. I think that Nissan took a lesson from Porsche where we see that the 911 didn't change radically over the years, with only minor functional improvements for the most part. "If it ain't broke then don't break it".
This car succeeds the 350z on the track and I can personally attest to that from a 2007 350z manual and a currently owned 2012 370z. The only thing you need to make this car much more fierce in every way is a low price exhaust to make it much louder. Worth every penny
Fast intentions makes in my opinion, the best exhaust for daily driving without the annoying drone/attention getting garbage. Check it out, they even have a steal option with carbon fiber covers. I kept the stock cats on mine and it has a nice low tone without the drone (18" resonators).
I'm in the process of shopping for a 370Z sport coupe with the 6-speed manual transmission. The price I'm looking at is about $33K OTD and I'm planning on putting about 1/2 down and financing the rest for either 24 or 36 months. The car is fine in stock condition for now but I do plan to make incremental upgrades over time to reduce weight and improve responsiveness and handling. It should be as much fun to drive as a Porsche that I had about 20 years ago.
@@cornercarver636 Yes I did. I bought a 2019 all-black 370Z sport coupe 6M and absolutely love it, far better than the Porsche, a great car, I had before. I've upgraded the brake lines to stainless steel braided lines with a Teflon core and the OEM sway bars with a set of stiffer bars from Hotchkis, making an already great handling car handle even better. My next upgrade will be to replace the stock Akebono brake rotors with a set of two-piece slotted and ventilated rotors with aluminum hats, for a weight savings of about 10 lbs on each of the fronts and 5 lbs on each of the rears.
Test drove this again this past saturday, the car is incredible. Getting it in Feb, it rides great even though reviewers said it drives rough. Power is great, handling is awesome. I took a notorious turn where I live about 5 mph faster than my 350Z. I love my Z and just paying off my 350 was'nt sure if I wanted a payment again, but after the drive I will certainly get this car. As I drove I could'nt believe the people looking at me in this car I was driving a red one, so black or red oh choices!
I bought an all-black sport coupe and took it to a detail shop to have a multi-stage paint correction and a ceramic coating. The car always looks as if has just been waxed, with a deep wet look and is super easy to clean. The car really turns heads when I park it on a curb where there is foot traffic on the sidewalk.
Completely split between getting this and the mustang GT. The mustang is faster, yeah, and has backseats, but this has more of a connection to the road. This is a proper sports car. A damn shame to anybody who buys the more expensive yet slow cars just for brand image :(
I have this nissan, and i think that is very easy to drive and it has great power. I have this car and it is from 2011, but however i think that lacks rear seats. If you want to buy a sports car, buy this!
That's what I did, I don't miss those rear seats at all :P Rear seats just mean more people / chores you are expected to taxi around and do. You do sacrifice a few luxuries (in the Nismo / Sport models) you might be used to from a G37, but who honestly needs stuff like heated leather seats?

Futhermore, the 370Z has .99g of grip where the Z4 only has .83g So your logic of it handling better is way off and so is you saying the 1/4 mile and 0-60 times are quicker. You saying, "I'm pretty sure that the z4 handles better, come on now it's a BMW" is the biggest OPINION I've ever seen. Theres the facts for you.
The best comparo I can think of is the 80's Vette. It was a slab of unfinished-looking blah. The revamped Vette with it's sculptured lines is a more complete, and beautiful looking piece of machinery.
Sorry, TH-cam cut my message off. The remainder was... built with power AND handling in mind. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the old Z28s, but these two cars were built for two different purposes. My only real complaint with the Z is poor visibility (something alot of sports cars exhibit). The driving experience is great, whenever I'm on twisty roads, I can't keep the huge grin off my face. This car is just superb and invokes the kind of passion for driving that all true great sports
i bought a 370z sport in 09 when they first came out. excellent car, and never a problem in over 120k+ miles. it got flooded in heavy rains, so i just bought a 2016 nismo tech. i can say its even better, ALOT better than my 09 370z sport.
+San Andres thanks for your sympathy, ill definitely miss it. that was one trusty, reliable car. even after it got flooded, it still ran for awhile and even the a/c worked. but i gotta say, this '16 nismo is seriously badass. even cosmetically, it looks alot cooler than the older nismos and the two-tone recaro seats are beautiful. what year/trim is yours?
+San Andres haha, thanks. id make a video and upload it onto youtube for you to see if i knew how (plus, my only camera is my phone). but i was asking what year and trim was your 370z (i know its a non-nismo).
To each his/her own. IMO, the 350Z is a contrived bar of soap. I'll take the sharper handling, sharper looking, and more powerful 370Z over the last gen.
I'm getting this or a C5 M6 Vette! I'm working a lot of O/T now an saving up! An wht ever one I get first, it's guna be supercharged with 500-600hp! LS an VQ power Varooom varooom 🚗💨💨💨👏🤙😎
the reason this is almost 20k less than a Z4 id b/c this is a coupe, the Z4 is a convertible roadster. Motortrend just recently featured a litely optioned 370Z roadster, thing totaled to about 50K. (same field as the Z4). Now ask yourself, what would you rather pay 50k for. A BMW or a Nissan?
back in 2005 i bought an 85 300 zx turbo for 300 dollars from a friend nothing was wrong with it but it needed an ignition cause someone tried to steal the car so i put one in it but the car would always flutter under boost i basicly changed every sensor on the car but never got it i wound up selling it then few years later an old datsun tech told me i should have changed the whole steering colum cause when they tried stealing it they dameged the electronics in colum and he said thats also why the car dident talk , that was my favorite car i owned and i had alot of sweet cars in my day a galant vr4 and a dodge turbo z being a few nice ones but the 300zx will really be a car i regret selling
I love the 370Z, it looks great, it can perform great, it has a huge modding community...but...it's very very hard to work on. Modding ain't easy my man.... Keeps me away from ZZZZZZZs
I own a 370Z it looks great and the handling is amazing but it is not a fast car in my opinion. Also it doesn't give me the sports car experience I was after. No induction noise, no exhaust noise but loads of road rumble. I think I would have enjoyed an S2000 more or maybe a V6 TT.
The Z does 0 -60 mph in about 5 secs ..thats quick gor any stock car dum dum..certainly faster or just as fast as the other 2 cars you mentioned..are you sure you own one?
The 350 was an unfinished, and in many places, uninspired piece of work (classy is one word I WOULDN'T use to describe the car). In every way possible the 370 looks not only finished, but much better as well. It's beautiful from all sides. The interior on the 350 is garbage and I'm thrilled Nissan has taken steps to address it.
You're right. You can't compare the Z to Porsches because Porsches are much more expensive. If you're going to compare apples to apples, compare the 2013 GTR to any of those cars and you'll be making a fair comparison. 'Nuff said.
nah, haha, those are just popular misconceptions people just LOVE to throw at BMW. My 530i has over 60k miles, guess what? NO PROBLEMS! If it had any, i wudda got rid of the thing by now. And c'mon man, you know there is more that goes into a BMW than just the name. Im not gonna argue that they arent overrated, but they are still some of the finest driving cars. No refuting that.
@scarface1224md , thank you, thats why i trust nissan! bmw's are nice cars though, but i'l stick with my nissan sentra 97 and titan 06, so far so good:)
They could of slapped a stullen supercharger on it and actually sold more of them. It seems like Nissan just gave up...its been out for 10 years...no major redesign!
No, not in my case. I think the 370z's styling is less mature than the 350z, and the interior is way overdone. The interior of the 350z feels more in line with the Z-car heritage in my opinion (I have a 350z, had a 300zx, and my uncle has a 260z). The interior isn't awful on the 370z, it's just way too contrived. The exterior is less classy and more juvenile.
Why the fuck would anyone buy a BMW Z4 over this car. This car has more performance, better looks, very nice interior and costs $20,000 less. And parts won't cost as much to replace either unlike the BMW
..but its so small, * most performance cars are..small/less weight w/ decent engine = illusion of top displacement * higher profitts for the manufacturer im so torn, my must ride must be fun * different, a 4WD tank &/or RWD true sports car.
You can't really compare a porsche to this car. A porsche has a legendary name behind it. Plus the only porsche tht can go head to head with this a way is the boxster and this would be the 370z convertable. The boxster even tho I personally dnt like convertables kills the 370z convertable easily lol. A cayman is mid engine so you can't compare and a 911 is a supercar( turbo, turbo s, gt3, gt3 rs, gt2, gt2 rs)
you guys know that nissan fucked up on this and the gtr they put organic brakes on these cars so after a couple laps around the track the brakes fail and you go straight into the wall a test driver got hurt driving one of these around the track and nissan knew about the brakes but didnt do anything till that incident happens
wat the... they got 119ft on a 60 miles to full stop? It was 103 on the other vids... what a difference... who am i suppose to trust now. 5.1 is slower than what others claim too.. but STILL sexy
Whenever I see a sports car with a 120+ foot 60-0 braking distance.....I always wonder , WHY?!? Unless Im remembering incorrectly, a 1996 subaru SVX did 60-0 in less than 100 feet.....
Yeah I'm with you on that one! I ditched the garbage stock brakes/rotors for upgraded pads, 2-piece rotors. When heated up properly, I'm fairly positive the thing stops shorter than the 120+ foot range. The downside is that if you want to track a 370z, you need even more aggressive pads and brake duct cooling as even the "sport package" brakes can become quickly overwhelmed.
@scarface1224md its not faster to 60 4.6 for z4 and its not quicker in the quarter mile looks are opinion......and im pretty sure that z4 handles better come on now its a bmw
The Z34 is a good value to be sure but the engine feels (and sounds) like it's going to fall apart at high revs and the 3:48 mark is proof that nissan needs to step up to a mechanical limited-slip. For people that seriously value powertrain refinement the VQ37 isn't the best choice. Also this car (for some reason) doesn't perform as well on-track as its raw numbers would suggest but the stats/specs sure are impressive and if engine thrashiness isn't a big deal to you, it's difficult to overlook.
My local Nissan dealer had a sexy red 370Z on the showroom floor. I had never seen one up close, so I really looked it over and sat in it. I was tremendously dissapointed. The interior is definitely a step up in style and quality from the 350z, but the ergonomics were terrible and I felt so shoehorned in the car. I'm 5'9 160lbs and the seat felt incredibly narrow, to a very uncomfortable degree. I wasn't impressed. I can't see driving this car everyday like some do.
@scarface1224md ...Why do you need to swear or use foul language to articulate your point? People buy BMW because they can afford it. Its more classy with better build quality than 370z (zed). More middle income earners do prefer BMW or should i say people that do not use foul language!!! Please in the future do not use colourful language. Many thanks sir.
I like how these videos still look and sound like they were filmed in the 90’s
The 370z is awesome. A proper true sports car. I see about 10 to 20 Rustangs and Camaros on my way to work everyday, but about 1 370z every other day. Love the handling, dynamics and the way it looks. Totally awesome! Go Nissan!

It’s crazy to think how retro this review feels. They only NOW refreshed the 370z. It remained the same for over a decade.

Right now i have a g35 coupe and in the future i was thinking of a G37 or this one and im going to go with this one *_*
i got to sit in a 2013 nismo edition one, it was sweet
The best comparo I can think of is the 80's Vette. It was a slab of unfinished-looking blah. The revamped Vette with it's sculptured lines is a more complete, and beautiful looking piece of machinery.
2018 price for the Zed base under $ 30K Canadian which as we well know Monopoly money compared to the US buck.
Waiting for this to depreciate...
we are there my friend.
Im tryna get one now that theyre around $20k
ben10TG - Welcome to the future.. It is wonderful!
@@hotchalupa hahaha ikr
I love my 07 350Z.
I own one and I love this car so much time to mod it!!!:D
i bought a 370z sport in 09 when they first came out. excellent car, and never a problem in over 120k+ miles. it got flooded in heavy rains, so i just bought a 2016 nismo tech. i can say its even better, ALOT better than my 09 370z sport.
I wanted a nismo but I couldn't wait lol I'm sorry about your 09 370z
I'll just wait to get a nismo or a gtr and still keep my z it's a goal.
I'm so jealous bro no lie I don't have a nismo yet I will work on it!
A BMW or a Nissan?
back in 2005 i bought an 85 300 zx turbo for 300 dollars from a friend nothing was wrong with it but it needed an ignition cause someone tried to steal the car so i put one in it but the car would always flutter under boost i basicly changed every sensor on the car but never got it i wound up selling it then few years later an old datsun tech told me i should have changed the whole steering colum cause when they tried stealing it they dameged the electronics in colum and he said thats also why the car dident talk , that was my favorite car i owned and i had alot of sweet cars in my day a galant vr4 and a dodge turbo z being a few nice ones but the 300zx will really be a car i regret selling
very nice, Nissan did a great job on the new Z :)
that Z looks nice!
And it’s still here...
Minor changes, but looks so much better than the 350z imo
+ChorltonM21 That's what aftermarket intakes are for..
i can do 0 to 60 in 4.5sec easy
This car hits 0 to 60 in 5 seconds and a quarter mile under 14 seconds. This car is fast for me.
+ChorltonM21 and I think you're wrong (and I used to owned a S2000)
Just perfect
@scarface1224md , thank you, thats why i trust nissan!
bmw's are nice cars though, but i'l stick with my nissan sentra 97 and titan 06, so far so good:)
yea when u love Z's and ur 6'6 it could hurt ur heart to get in a 370z and relize u dont fit well
They could of slapped a stullen supercharger on it and actually sold more of them.
The exterior is less classy and more juvenile.
that's it! I want one.
Why the fuck would anyone buy a BMW Z4 over this car. This car has more performance, better looks, very nice interior and costs $20,000 less. And parts won't cost as much to replace either unlike the BMW
Very nice!I'll get it soon lol
..but its so small, * most performance cars are..small/less weight w/ decent engine = illusion of top displacement * higher profitts for the manufacturer
im so torn, my must ride must be fun * different, a 4WD tank &/or RWD true sports car.
I Love The Z But I'm Going To Buy The Infiniti G37S I Like How Sexy Sporty & Classy The G Looks Over The 370Z
You need to test drive one to really appreciate one . Have had mine for 3 yrs and drive it like I stole it . These things are bullet proof.
10 years later......
0-60 should be under 5secs and the 1/4 should be about 13secs becaue my 350z is 5.3 to 60 and 13.7 in the 1/4
you guys know that nissan fucked up on this and the gtr they put organic brakes on these cars so after a couple laps around the track the brakes fail and you go straight into the wall a test driver got hurt driving one of these around the track and nissan knew about the brakes but didnt do anything till that incident happens
wat the... they got 119ft on a 60 miles to full stop? It was 103 on the other vids... what a difference... who am i suppose to trust now. 5.1 is slower than what others claim too.. but STILL sexy
hmmm... this or the g37 coupe?
Clearly 370z is the obvious better choice 11years later
Nissan's last decent car
hey my 350z Nismo is far from bland
1:59 DRIP
300zx tt , no 350 or 370
@scarface1224md
You aint lying abot that. Real talk.
freakin' TH-cam on iPhone (just limit my damn message if it won't fit). Sorry people...
cars should.
Haha, I don't think they've changed their equipment in about 3 years.
R.I.P Mitsubishi Eclipse
Bland design my ass
My local Nissan dealer had a sexy red 370Z on the showroom floor. I had never seen one up close, so I really looked it over and sat in it. I was tremendously dissapointed. The interior is definitely a step up in style and quality from the 350z, but the ergonomics were terrible and I felt so shoehorned in the car. I'm 5'9 160lbs and the seat felt incredibly narrow, to a very uncomfortable degree. I wasn't impressed. I can't see driving this car everyday like some do.
G37s coupe looks wayyy better
I meant 30 years
@scarface1224md ...Why do you need to swear or use foul language to articulate your point? People buy BMW because they can afford it. Its more classy with better build quality than 370z (zed). More middle income earners do prefer BMW or should i say people that do not use foul language!!! Please in the future do not use colourful language. Many thanks sir.
