    Hero promised us last year that 2018 would be the year when larger engine capacities would get some much-needed attention. Since the iconic CBZ and Karizma it has been a long, dry spell. But, at the start of the year, they showed off the production version of the Xtreme 200R. It was a tall order to go head to head with rivals such as Bajaj's Pulsar NS200, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Yamaha FZ25. But Hero says, the 200R isn’t about outright performance but a fun riding experience along with a healthy dose of practicality. We got a chance to sample the 200R at the Buddh International Circuit to see what it has in store. The promise of a sub Rs90,000 price tag of this yet to be launched motorcycle adds to the intrigue. But, what's the Xtreme 200R like to ride? Lets find out!

    why all bike rivews are based keeping in mind the need of the young riders??
    i think this bike is for sensible riders who dont go zooming past another car or bike...this is for people who have been riding 150cc and looking for an reliable and long lasting motor. Not everyone loose their sleep over power and torque figures..do they ?
    so the bike should be described in a way it is offered. otherwise people will start thinking negetive.
    i find some reviewers really meaningless. why the take for granted that if something is 200 cc it has to be faster than what already available??
    it is designed to last long and give economy when petrol has crossed 80 rs.
    i just dont understand...why these people consider every rider as a speed lover.

      Absolutely Right something which has been on my mind especially after suffering from lower back and tailbone pain. I feel bikes should perform like Marathon runners in for the long haul.

    Married men with 2 kids in their mid-30’s to mid-45’s usually prefer peaceful city commuting mostly based on purpose...they never think about power and hooliganism like youth...so definitely Hero Xtreme 200 has a place in between 150s, 160s and peppy duke 200, pulsar 200ns and apache 200 4v

    With price rang of 160cc Hero offers 200cc Bike it's really good..
    We can't compare it with Pulsar NS and Apache 200cc because it's high in price..
    So it is really a good Bike over compared with same rate 166cc Bike..
    And also 2 volve engine is mileage friendly over 4 volve engine..

    All the viewers need to understand that Hero have not designed this bike to compete with bikes of 200cc segment this bike will compete with bikes like gixxer , hornet , fz because it's from the same price range and I have got the feeling this bike will have upper hand on those 160 cc segment bike,
    Coming to design it's not bad some people are saying headlamp design is not good but it's definitely better than gixxer and seat as well

    Hero has missed a trick here. Should have brought back the old cbz with this engine. Would have been a hit. This design doesn't appeal to the senses. The old cbz was a beautiful riding and handling bike with a design that still turns heads.

    honda x blade 13.6 bhp no one will check out but hero with 200cc @18.5 bhp its a shame because we go for foreign products leaving ours obsolate
    eg: tata aria
    still honda offering springs instead of teliscopic to activa and missed out digi speedo

      Peoples always like to buy quality products only..if u feel hero gives good quality vehicle just go with them.fz25 just 1.4 lakhs only, ns 200 also just 1 lakh..quality of these products r too gud compare to this hero

    I don't know why people are making many senseless comments. Why you are comparing this with every 200 cc out there, even the manufacturer don't wanted it to be competing. There is no sense of comparing a 2 liter porche with a normal 2 liter toyota or Suzuki. Then about the design even the Ns 200 and apache rtr 200 4v got halogen headlamp.

    I guess to sum it correctly.. This is for people who are undecided at a 150-160 cc category want a little. Bit more power without compromising much on comfort and mileage... However there are certain 160cc bikes which easily do a 90-100 without Vibrations one of them is the bs3 Unicorn 160cc which makes 14.5 bhp and 14.6 nm torque which I got after using the 150cc spoke wheel version for like 9years...the thing with Honda is they go so low on friction that a decent top end is sensibly acheived which negates most 200cc bikes. The right kind of engine oil added to a superb chain lubricant with and Iridium spark plug and adding a good additive with petrol makes the bike perform optimally.And who wants to race daily?? ... It's just that once in a while you get that open highway where one would like to do triple digit speeds without stressing out the engine.

    why this bike is being reviewed based on track performance. no one gives a shit about how it performs on tracks because this is not designed for racing in the first place.
    this is commuter bike with a bigger engine which will give power as well as style and also hero special mileage.
    dont compare with NS or Apache..because hero will launch suitable competitor for them also in coming days.
    but you all one track minded people will then compare that with Dominer. jerks all of u.

    This bike would flunk really badly. It would face heat not only from the established 200 cc giants, but the 160 cc power houses as well.
    Hero says it has focused on usability and practicality instead of outright performance, but I don't think that other offerings from TVS, Bajaj, Suzuki (that offer performance) have compromised on usability as well. They still serve as good commuters, aggressive riders and can carve corners as well.

      Why everyone hates it?
      That's because Hero showcased concepts like the HX250R. Instead of bringing it in what Hero brings to the table is this bike which has no innovation in design, uglier front fairing that robbed the previous gen CBZs uniqueness and I can go on. It is not even competing with other 200cc segment bikes. They have ruined the Karizma too. To sum it up Hero doesn't really know where the current market is heading.

      this bike will indeed b priced in 160cc segment. with that taken into account it is very good offering.
      and yes it is only an entry level premium bike from hero lets not forget they are building from scratch.
      we cry about make in India, but when india makes something we start comparing and complaining without standing by its side.
      every hero customer has first thing on mind that is mileage and then 2nd thing is price. then comes styling ergo and all.
      so hero designs its bikes according to its customer base and also keeping it relevant for others.
      imagine how much pressure the company has to make everyone happy.
      without even riding it people are rediculing it. the bike hasnt been launched yet.

    Guys hero company made this 200cc bike by keeping power and mileage factors in their mind. If you ride this bike in the city. You will get linear pickup which is sufficient for your city needs. But on the highway, you will feel disappointed because you have to make big and risky overtaking. It is most suitable for city ride with good fuel efficiency. You can expect class leading mileage from this bike because most of hero bikes come with honda engine technology.

    I just don't get hero. I think they should just stick to making commuter bikes. Everytime I look at any bike from hero it looks like it's designed by a bunch of 5 year olds. It's like they're not even trying to make it good looking or compete in the performance market.
    And what the heck is practical performance?. You can either have practicality or full on performance. It's half assed in my opinion.

    Only 200cc engine but Nothing new..low power ,torque figures and 2valve engine, aircooling, degine from current cbz sports..it may fail to attract youth...and more than1.10lakhprice..is it make any sense...for hero...if any body pick this.....that customer is great HERO...

    pricing is important.. anything above 90k for this, is disaster..
    oh wait, Honda Hornet sells for 90k, APACHE RTR 160 4V EFI for 90k and FZS 160 dual disk is at 86k.. hummmmm.
    ok. lets say, anything above 80k is a disaster..
    but, Honda xBlade is at 80k and good old unicorn 160 at 75k and fun little machine Bajaj NS160 at 81k..
    so, this Hero bike will be priced above 90k, just because it got 200cc engine..
    in short, this is actually a disaster.. 😁

    Hero ki design ekdam bekar abhi ke bike mai pehle hero and honda partners the jab cbz xtreme, hunk aur power horse karizma thi tab acha design tha comfortable riding bhi thi abhi agar karizma ka launch kiya tho hero ek dam first position mai rahega aur sabhi company ko tala lag jayega

    Jo saale hero ki insult krre hai unko nahi pata ki hero thi hai or rahegi hero ko koi nahi ROK sakta jitna bajaj or tvs ka budget hai utne ki to splendor bik chuki hai

    Useless bike, pls don't buy hero......hero is good for splendor and passion...that's it..dot...I wasted 1.2 lakh.. buying this 200r...and I felt I bought some dust bin so costly

    I would buy this bike not because of its performance but, because of the trust that Hero motor carries.
    Good for daily commuters with ABS at reasonable price.
    More than 120 KM/Hr is useless on Indian roads,18PS is enough even for hilly terrain.
