In the “Alien Covenant : David’s Drawings” and “Alien Covenant : Khang Le artworks” it deducts or supposed the fact that in ten years since David attacked Planet 4 (Engineers home world or just under the influence of the engineers) David spent his ten years time experimenting with the black goo on the remaining survivors of the planet inhabitants or just some of them could be used in experiments even if they were severely wounded , David perfected over the time the Face huggers species but the inhabitants of the planet 4 only gives birth to docile xenomorphs or the ones rather interested in peaceful aspects and intellectual nature as starter , so David realized he need humans in order to give birth to the mindless creatures who only lives for savagery and survival if not purely evil or as evil as it can get preferably for David . So maybe in Covenant movie a hidden gem of the movie may be the fact that Weyland send the crew in the direction of David planet on purpose , so that David could continue on his experiments , unfortunately Weyland- Yutani is interested only in the complete savagery xenos only , ignoring the Engineers science towards technology.
For example in Covenant Chris Oram character was the first who gives birth to the “praetomorph” by exposing Oram to a face hugger , anyway the praetomorph is much closer to David likings (and more close to the classic xenomorphs) rather than the neomorphs resulted from the Engineers seedings .

Also, the general structure of the cage looks mysteriously like a Queen Xeno. Either they were mythological creatures David brought into reality, or they are long extinct creatures David has brought back and evolved...
I think that's their newest idea to milk fans. Make bad movies from great backstories only so that the fans would buy the DVDs/BluRays, tie-in books, comic books and all other sort of trivia-filled merchandise to see how good the movies could have been.
Seeing as Alien has so much theology woven into it, especially Christian, it struck me when you said David wanted to be the King to Shaw's Queen. King David was the "beloved one." He was the beloved "son" of Weyland and I recall another video talking about wolves and sheep, where the colonists were the sheep and King David had been a shepherd who gained fame as a musician and killed Goliath. David plays the flute and he killed the Engineers (giants). King David also had control over the Ark of the Covenant.
The original two movies had zero religious themes to them. All that came in the last two movies because Scott got obsessed with ancient astronaut crap.

Original eggs onboard the derelict were created to be used as a bioweapons long time, perhaps a several millenia ago. One of eggs hatched prematurely and the pilot got facehugged. And the rest of the story is well known. In my opinion, there is no other logical explanation. It would have been better to keep the origins in mystery.
You're right, in the aliens comics in the early 90s it was stated that the Eggs and ship was carrying a weapon created by the engineers. The engineers were at war with the Predators and used aliens as weapons against them.

I know this is off topic, But does anyone suspect someone killed Captain Branson? I found it highly unlikely that his hyper sleeping pod was able to malfunction and combust like that. I found Oram come across as a jealous or offended that nobody like him, In the last supper prologue, He talks about people openly in a negative way, He was more annoyed they gave Branson a funeral because they went against his orders. I know it's a thin theory but I found his death too suspect to be accident.
I would have disagreed but bringing in a big actor like James Franco just for literally 5 seconds of screen time with one line of dialogue does make his death very odd and possibly hints at something going on

I don't think it was programmed to burn the occupant alive. If that was the case nobody would use them! If you noticed after the event people in the film was reluctant to go back in them
KD84Afc™ Its actually a pretty interesting theory because while I was watching the movie, I actually expected a "villain reveal" cliche where Oram was ordered by the company to actually get to the planet where David was and with that, bring the xenomorph. Think about it, at the end of Prometheus, Shaw left a recording about the events around LV-223, David could just use that recorder after Shaw's death to contact the company and within time, in this case 10 years later, they managed to send a crew and keep an infiltrated agent for such mission. I know, it's quite a stretch for a story but hey... it would make more sense than a neutrino outburst knocking the ship and while fixing it, they just capture a random signal.
I don't suspect it was intentional, especially not by Oram. For all of his flaws, Oram does come across as legitimately devastated by the loss of his crew. I think it was just bad luck, and some how the oxygen inside the pod ignited.
I like this aspect of the story so much, I wish more people like us, your fans and few other people, shared a fascination with the more in depth look of Aliens. The story is at its best beyond the movies.

Why do people think the Engineers were trying to create Xenomorphs? Or that David was continuing their work? They weren't. Xenomorphs already existed. It seemed pretty obvious to me that the Engineers were using the Xenomorphs as source material to produce, and possibly refine the black goo. David is reverse engineering their work. He's not really creating anything new. Did I completely miss something where Scott said the Engineers were trying to create Xenomorphs?
The "Deacon" at the of Prometheus was the result of a Proto-face hugger & an Engineer. Engineer dna is similar to human. The Proto-face hugger came from Shaw's exposure to the goo. We all know there needs to be a face hugger to impregnate something to give birth to some form of Xenomorph. David wanted to make a Queen who could birth multiple face huggers (instead of only 1 like a human body would allow). The goo when mixed with the Engineer dna helped produce the Protomorphs.
Troy Hawkins i felt the same way really. Just from Prometheus alone, we saw a xeno type creature on the mural so this was something they had already seen. I felt too like David is just back engineering. He just took a different route to get the same thing
Whilst that makes great sense the fact these movies are showing us davids experiments and monsters that are developing to be close to the Xenomorphs kinda tells us that this would be the case.
David did not create the Xenomorph. He is experimenting, and creating a different variation of the Xenomorph. Dont forget guys in Prometheus the Squid monster did create a Deacon Xenomorph. David had nothing to do with the Squid Monster Impregnating the Engineer. The Black Goo is still the real mystery here. A Xenomorph like creature is created from using the Black Goo improperly. (Like Shaw getting pregnant while its currently reverse engineering Holloway, or Davids Experiments with floura and fauna of whatever planet it is in Covenant) I really hate the mysteries this movie franchise started with Prometheus and Covenant. I hate it even more they may not finish the trilogy. What was the point of starting an Origin prequel series...if they aren't even gonna answer the stuff they set out to do. This trilogy series is a mess.....I just don't see any other choice they will have to Reboot/Re-imagine at this point.

David being the creator messed up the whole story for me. I always thought engineers made man simply just to be hosts to create the greatest killing machine. How does a robot humans created and a human get over on a society so advanced they came down in ships when we were making cave paintings.
They did make the xenomorphs David just wants to perfect them even further but since Fox screwed up the film it was sadly left out that made people think that David created them but Ridley Scott confirmed that David did not make the xenomorphs.

Oh wow, I honestly can't say how much I love how these movies are becoming a twisted parody of Frankenstein. It's so horrible in such an awesome way! However, I'm not so sure that David will have Daniels turned into a queen. Unless they switch to someone else as the main character in the next film, I don't think he'll try to experiment on her. It would make more sense for her to be a sort of witness to David's creation.

Probably because every character is an idiot. They all make decisions that would have gotten them killed within the first 3 years of their interstellar travels. Plus David has become a meme and cringelord. "I'll do the fingering" and kissing Walter isn't creepy, it's a pathetic attempt at adding depth to David. His motives still don't make sense. Plus it makes no sense how he can just manipulate the black goo into something like an Xenomorph. We obviously see he has limited amounts of technology. Really, Alien should have been left alone after 3.
David's motive is destroying the very species that made him, because he considers humans to be inferior. Androids seem to be of particular interest to Scott, that's why David was made the central figure. It's the whole "AI will think we are a threat and will want to destroy us" thing. Considering how mutagen-us the goo is, I think it was enough to literally do some mixing in a bowl to get certain mutations. My bigger problem with it is the fact Shaw was dead, so he was using dead flesh, which doesn't make too much sense... unless the Xenos are supposed to be zombies at core?
The fact that Ridley is making it so David created the alien race really made no sense to me at all. It completely negates the concept of what occurred during the original alien movie. Unless a surviving engineer managed to have one last confrontation with David; killed him; stole the eggs; then accidentally got killed by a face hugger, this whole concept does not tie in at all to the first movie.

Love the videos as always. Sounds like "Advent" was another video that should've been in Covenant, like "The Crossing," that could've made the thing better than it was. I HATED Covenant when I first saw it. I appreciated it more upon a second viewing, but I still think it's probably at the bottom of my Alien series ranking.

Alien Theory I think I can connect the two. The Thing was also another pet project abandoned by the engineers just like the black goo. The black goo was much more efficient so they went with it and buried and abandoned one of their ships carrying the Thing deep underground Antarctica.
It amazes me that there has never been a crossover at some point. The easiest connection is that the ship that crashes in Antarctica i actually engineer in origin.

Just rewatching this for the umpteenth time and thought of something new. What if David had learned or found some way to form some type of telepathic bound with the protomorph and that he was able to perfect it with his “queen”? I might be way off but Orams chest burster was David’s first protomorph I think and perhaps when he was waving his arms he was testing the link. I know it sounds way off but the proto and classic xenomorph have bio mechanical parts. Or look at least. Is it impossible for there to be a sort of organic A.I. that grows within them since the original black goo is filled with nannites/nano technology?
One thing I didn't understand from Alien: Covenant was why didn't the Protomorph attack David when it had the chance. My best guess was that it was confused about David because he looked like a human but was not.

Great channel! i'm really intrigued if they would make david turn daniels into the queen.. but seeing as Covenant failed at the box office its less likely that this series will continue. I think Disney will reboot it. For better or for worse.
I think it's much more likely daneils would be used as a template if she would morph into the queen, she wouldn't need to be alive. Now the cryotube may just be the best way to keep her alive for a long time, but my guess is she won't become the queen, but be the host for it. In either case, she is definitely the focas of David's experiments for the moment and will play a critical role in perfecting the aliens, although I don't consider them the perfect organism everyone else does
Honestly, the fact about 90% of the story was cut and available in extra scenes online is a clear sign of how convoluted the prequels are. Give us a simple story again.
@AT, I think Ridley can fix this time issue of the first Alien ship be so old and having the eggs by stating that David put the eggs there and activated the beacon. Then make him appear in a new Alien movie between the events of Alien and Aliens. What do you think?
IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE (David creatin Xenomorphs) EGGS, ship & space Jockey are 1000's of years old in Alien(1979) AND in Prometheus a XENOMORPH art depictions on WALL of Black Goo Chamber! how then could David has created them?!? Frustrating how Ridley chooses to NOT follow his own film continuity.
My theory is that he's only created a strain of what ultimately has existed for thousands of years; that is, the xenomorph isn't a newly engineered (pun intended) beast, rather the black goo will always end up resulting in a similar form of final result. No way to prove this, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me.

Its obvious David didnt create the xenomorpth aliens. He is a walking science experiment, he was too intelligent hence why all the later models were scaled back with inhibitor chips etc. He obviously hates his creators weyland and humans. Really want to see weyland catch up to David and whatever planet / system he takes the cargo / embryos too.
I remember some of the fan fiction from STARLOG, the mythology kept alive and created by the cult of STAR TREK...these videos remind me of those events and moments of genuine belonging, a path never used by the "talent" ....WHY the movies never used any of it...just damn.

Did you ever realized that the egg where the Facehugger is "born" from, the insides look like placenta? Like a womb, per say. And that charateristic would make a lot of sense if David perfected the eggs.

I'm not a fan of the prequels for many reasons, and David having been the "creator" of the Xenomorphs is a big reason for that. It brings it back around to "humans suck" like so many zombie movies and games. And we already had that with the clear corporate greed shown by the Company.

Seeing David experiment on Daniels, turning her into a queen would be scary as hell, give you nightmares, but it would make one hell of a horror movie. It could be the coolest, darkest alien movie ever. Could even be not rated because it's scary and gory as all hell. Nothing held back, if they want to really scare the audience, they should pump the gas more, pedal to the metal. Guitly pleasures up the rear. If they want to make another movie, then it should be a bloody, Effin mountain of horrors, literally. From what I understand, all David was doing was replicating experiments conducted by the engineers. It seems that they already created the xenomorph but realised how dangerous it was and ceased creating them.

The nanosubstance seems to always yield certain characteristics...e.g Elongated head, a secondary mouth, acidblood. Even those worms in Promethus had acidblood...so, these traits existed long before David played Dr Frankenstein - At best he just reopened old books the engineers had already "written".
David, sensing that his creation still requires a final stage to be perfect sacrifices himself and what then explodes out of his own chest has all the biomechanics that we see in the Alien from the original Alien film. He destroys himself to help create the perfect organism.

One thing I know for sure is that David is insane. Will Daniels be the Queen? I don't think so. I think if David does experiment on her, her will most likely end up killing her. Unintentionally but still. I think the next movie will start off with Daniels already gone and David looking for someone who can withstand whatever he needs to put them through in order to do this.

Seeing as Alien has so much theology woven into it, especially Christian, it struck me when you said David wanted to be the King to Shaw's Queen.
King David was the "beloved one." He was the beloved "son" of Weyland and I recall another video talking about wolves and sheep, where the colonists were the sheep and King David had been a shepherd who gained fame as a musician and killed Goliath. David plays the flute and he killed the Engineers (giants). King David also had control over the Ark of the Covenant.

For example if you look closer to the head monument in the ampules room , you may notice the fact that the head’s face looks alike Damon Lindelof face (Idolatry) .
Original eggs onboard the derelict were created to be used as a bioweapons long time, perhaps a several millenia ago. One of eggs hatched prematurely and the pilot got facehugged. And the rest of the story is well known. In my opinion, there is no other logical explanation. It would have been better to keep the origins in mystery.
The theory that the eggs in the derelict was supposed to be used as bioweapons was also my theory and make more sens for me at least than Prometheus.
You're right, in the aliens comics in the early 90s it was stated that the Eggs and ship was carrying a weapon created by the engineers. The engineers were at war with the Predators and used aliens as weapons against them.

I know this is off topic, But does anyone suspect someone killed Captain Branson? I found it highly unlikely that his hyper sleeping pod was able to malfunction and combust like that.
I found Oram come across as a jealous or offended that nobody like him, In the last supper prologue, He talks about people openly in a negative way, He was more annoyed they gave Branson a funeral because they went against his orders.
I know it's a thin theory but I found his death too suspect to be accident.
I would have disagreed but bringing in a big actor like James Franco just for literally 5 seconds of screen time with one line of dialogue does make his death very odd and possibly hints at something going on

I don't think it was programmed to burn the occupant alive. If that was the case nobody would use them! If you noticed after the event people in the film was reluctant to go back in them
KD84Afc™ Its actually a pretty interesting theory because while I was watching the movie, I actually expected a "villain reveal" cliche where Oram was ordered by the company to actually get to the planet where David was and with that, bring the xenomorph. Think about it, at the end of Prometheus, Shaw left a recording about the events around LV-223, David could just use that recorder after Shaw's death to contact the company and within time, in this case 10 years later, they managed to send a crew and keep an infiltrated agent for such mission. I know, it's quite a stretch for a story but hey... it would make more sense than a neutrino outburst knocking the ship and while fixing it, they just capture a random signal.
I don't suspect it was intentional, especially not by Oram. For all of his flaws, Oram does come across as legitimately devastated by the loss of his crew. I think it was just bad luck, and some how the oxygen inside the pod ignited.
I like this aspect of the story so much, I wish more people like us, your fans and few other people, shared a fascination with the more in depth look of Aliens. The story is at its best beyond the movies.

Why do people think the Engineers were trying to create Xenomorphs? Or that David was continuing their work? They weren't. Xenomorphs already existed. It seemed pretty obvious to me that the Engineers were using the Xenomorphs as source material to produce, and possibly refine the black goo. David is reverse engineering their work. He's not really creating anything new.
Did I completely miss something where Scott said the Engineers were trying to create Xenomorphs?
The "Deacon" at the of Prometheus was the result of a Proto-face hugger & an Engineer. Engineer dna is similar to human. The Proto-face hugger came from Shaw's exposure to the goo. We all know there needs to be a face hugger to impregnate something to give birth to some form of Xenomorph. David wanted to make a Queen who could birth multiple face huggers (instead of only 1 like a human body would allow). The goo when mixed with the Engineer dna helped produce the Protomorphs.

Troy Hawkins i felt the same way really. Just from Prometheus alone, we saw a xeno type creature on the mural so this was something they had already seen. I felt too like David is just back engineering. He just took a different route to get the same thing
The relief of the Xenomorph on the wall in the chamber during Prometheus is proof that they already existed before David even knew what was going on.
Whilst that makes great sense the fact these movies are showing us davids experiments and monsters that are developing to be close to the Xenomorphs kinda tells us that this would be the case.
David did not create the Xenomorph. He is experimenting, and creating a different variation of the Xenomorph. Dont forget guys in Prometheus the Squid monster did create a Deacon Xenomorph. David had nothing to do with the Squid Monster Impregnating the Engineer.
The Black Goo is still the real mystery here. A Xenomorph like creature is created from using the Black Goo improperly. (Like Shaw getting pregnant while its currently reverse engineering Holloway, or Davids Experiments with floura and fauna of whatever planet it is in Covenant)
I really hate the mysteries this movie franchise started with Prometheus and Covenant. I hate it even more they may not finish the trilogy. What was the point of starting an Origin prequel series...if they aren't even gonna answer the stuff they set out to do. This trilogy series is a mess.....I just don't see any other choice they will have to Reboot/Re-imagine at this point.

David being the creator messed up the whole story for me. I always thought engineers made man simply just to be hosts to create the greatest killing machine. How does a robot humans created and a human get over on a society so advanced they came down in ships when we were making cave paintings.
They did make the xenomorphs David just wants to perfect them even further but since Fox screwed up the film it was sadly left out that made people think that David created them but Ridley Scott confirmed that David did not make the xenomorphs.

The Engineers also made the goo. That's where they come from. David just tweaked it. The Engineers essentially made the xenos, David refined them.
Prometheus was a shitty movie but had some potential to be developed into a decent story of its own. But Covenant being a prequel to the original Alien films and the origin of the Xenomorphs is utter bullshit.

Oh wow, I honestly can't say how much I love how these movies are becoming a twisted parody of Frankenstein. It's so horrible in such an awesome way! However, I'm not so sure that David will have Daniels turned into a queen. Unless they switch to someone else as the main character in the next film, I don't think he'll try to experiment on her. It would make more sense for her to be a sort of witness to David's creation.

"I'll do the fingering" and kissing Walter isn't creepy, it's a pathetic attempt at adding depth to David. His motives still don't make sense. Plus it makes no sense how he can just manipulate the black goo into something like an Xenomorph. We obviously see he has limited amounts of technology.

David's motive is destroying the very species that made him, because he considers humans to be inferior. Androids seem to be of particular interest to Scott, that's why David was made the central figure. It's the whole "AI will think we are a threat and will want to destroy us" thing. Considering how mutagen-us the goo is, I think it was enough to literally do some mixing in a bowl to get certain mutations. My bigger problem with it is the fact Shaw was dead, so he was using dead flesh, which doesn't make too much sense... unless the Xenos are supposed to be zombies at core?
I really doubt David would let Daniels live. Look at what happened to Shaw, he loved her like she was his mother and eventually experimented on her.
I, on the other hand, think these new prequels destroy the enigmatic mythology of the original 4 films.

The fact that Ridley is making it so David created the alien race really made no sense to me at all. It completely negates the concept of what occurred during the original alien movie. Unless a surviving engineer managed to have one last confrontation with David; killed him; stole the eggs; then accidentally got killed by a face hugger, this whole concept does not tie in at all to the first movie.

I HATED Covenant when I first saw it. I appreciated it more upon a second viewing, but I still think it's probably at the bottom of my Alien series ranking.

Alien Theory I think I can connect the two. The Thing was also another pet project abandoned by the engineers just like the black goo. The black goo was much more efficient so they went with it and buried and abandoned one of their ships carrying the Thing deep underground Antarctica.

Just rewatching this for the umpteenth time and thought of something new. What if David had learned or found some way to form some type of telepathic bound with the protomorph and that he was able to perfect it with his “queen”? I might be way off but Orams chest burster was David’s first protomorph I think and perhaps when he was waving his arms he was testing the link. I know it sounds way off but the proto and classic xenomorph have bio mechanical parts. Or look at least. Is it impossible for there to be a sort of organic A.I. that grows within them since the original black goo is filled with nannites/nano technology?

One thing I didn't understand from Alien: Covenant was why didn't the Protomorph attack David when it had the chance. My best guess was that it was confused about David because he looked like a human but was not.

Great channel! i'm really intrigued if they would make david turn daniels into the queen.. but seeing as Covenant failed at the box office its less likely that this series will continue. I think Disney will reboot it. For better or for worse.
I think it's much more likely daneils would be used as a template if she would morph into the queen, she wouldn't need to be alive. Now the cryotube may just be the best way to keep her alive for a long time, but my guess is she won't become the queen, but be the host for it. In either case, she is definitely the focas of David's experiments for the moment and will play a critical role in perfecting the aliens, although I don't consider them the perfect organism everyone else does

Honestly, the fact about 90% of the story was cut and available in extra scenes online is a clear sign of how convoluted the prequels are. Give us a simple story again.

IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE (David creatin Xenomorphs) EGGS, ship & space Jockey are 1000's of years old in Alien(1979) AND in Prometheus a XENOMORPH art depictions on WALL of Black Goo Chamber! how then could David has created them?!? Frustrating how Ridley chooses to NOT follow his own film continuity.
My theory is that he's only created a strain of what ultimately has existed for thousands of years; that is, the xenomorph isn't a newly engineered (pun intended) beast, rather the black goo will always end up resulting in a similar form of final result. No way to prove this, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me.
well i hope, that he is not the original creator. More like reverse engineered, maybe an emergent end goal of the goo, perfect lifeform that this evolutionary goo just ends up as whatever you do. Like trying to square a circle you end up with Pi, whatever you do. Its obvious David didnt create the xenomorpth aliens. He is a walking science experiment, he was too intelligent hence why all the later models were scaled back with inhibitor chips etc. He obviously hates his creators weyland and humans. Ridley Scott was building up too David experimenting more on the cargo and eventually other types of proto morphs / xenomorpths. David has nothing to do with lv426. Really want to see weyland catch up to David and whatever planet / system he takes the cargo / embryos too.

Did you ever realized that the egg where the Facehugger is "born" from, the insides look like placenta? Like a womb, per say. And that charateristic would make a lot of sense if David perfected the eggs.

I'm not a fan of the prequels for many reasons, and David having been the "creator" of the Xenomorphs is a big reason for that. It brings it back around to "humans suck" like so many zombie movies and games. And we already had that with the clear corporate greed shown by the Company.

Seeing David experiment on Daniels, turning her into a queen would be scary as hell, give you nightmares, but it would make one hell of a horror movie. It could be the coolest, darkest alien movie ever. Could even be not rated because it's scary and gory as all hell. Nothing held back, if they want to really scare the audience, they should pump the gas more, pedal to the metal. Guitly pleasures up the rear. If they want to make another movie, then it should be a bloody, Effin mountain of horrors, literally. IM talking sexy bloody experimental surgeries, lord have mercy, monster fights to prove who's more fit for survival, people dying torturously slow deaths, through monsters and surgical experiments, good God y`all. Viewed discretion would be strongly advised, not for the faint of heart.

I still say that David creating the entire Xenomorph race is just plain bullshit of the highest magnitude. I don't care if that is canon now the whole idea about a human creating a machine that is superior to him and that single machine going crazy and creating something that is even more "perfect" and yet so horrible that is kills everything, it all removes the mystery of the whole Alien setting. Plus it turns the iconic Xenomoprh race "nothing special" just a crazy experiment in the lab by a crazy android, that created the most dangerous species in the galaxy, yeah sure there is "suspension of disbelief" and there is "bullshit" this is 100% BS.
From what I understand, all David was doing was replicating experiments conducted by the engineers. It seems that they already created the xenomorph but realised how dangerous it was and ceased creating them.

One thing I know for sure is that David is insane. Will Daniels be the Queen? I don't think so. I think if David does experiment on her, her will most likely end up killing her. Unintentionally but still. I think the next movie will start off with Daniels already gone and David looking for someone who can withstand whatever he needs to put them through in order to do this.

Seems from this video he did, since David hints that she refused to participate in his genocide so he did away with her so he could use her "parts." Pretty grim ending for Shaw :(
from the sounds of it David tried to convince Shaw to help him create the Xenomorph's willing but she saw him as insane and so david had to kill her) it would explain his tears when talking about her he cared about her deeply and wanted to create things with her sadly his ideal creations were the monstrous xenomoprhs
Ookami inazuma but remember Shaw was sick because of the black goo and that could of killed her. You can see that David viewed Shaw as a mother or caretaker. So I don't think he killed her.

I still wish the xenomorph was natural selection and the engineer ship on lv-426 had just been to Alien prime. I wish the engineers were just harvesting eggs from alien prime and they explored the xeno civil war in the films
