I hear a lot of people, now including you who have said that "its the same size, its a whole new game" Its essentially going to be a smaller version of the DS1 map so... yeah, basically a new game, but anywho who knows anything about how patches work knows that at least 10~15 gb of that is going to be changes to the main game to integrate the dlc into it seemlessly and do a huge balance patch at launch to account for all the new weapons, summons, weapon arts, spells, etc. Still a huge size, but its not going to be the same amount as people are saying

Bought the game for £20 a year ago,still doing 1st run cus im prepaid for the dlc a few hours ago for £35 (normal price £41.. Hopefully I will master the original within 3 months. I’m also trash at ER and also beat Margit my 3rd attempt. I think all those people who quit at Margit are just classic Ubisoft/activision slaves who are used to games with no real substance that constantly gratify you like a casino, you’re not actually winning anything or getting better. Even the base game, Elden Ring, is basically a game + free extensions. You could remove Caelid for instance and sell it as an extension, the base game would still be considered huge and GOTY material, think about it. Just imagine ER without Caelid and without the undergrounds. It still would be praised and still would offer 100 hours of gameplay. They could sold these as DLC no problems. ER base game gave you a lot more for your money than most AAA games, it is, at the same price point of all AAA open world, a very very very generous game.

It makes sense in business terms that most businesses can't understand... Charge a bit less makes it more accessible and in turn you sell more.. Unlike charging over 60+ for a 20 hour game and wonder why you only have players when it's free on Xbox Live or playstation monthly. I paid about £40 for Elden ring a year ago and I've only put in 500 hours in so far. Which then got me ending up buying the Dark souls series for £20 physical. So much fun to be had.. Ds3 is epic.

I dont even know how I got to watching this.. And I dont comment often on videos.. but I must say this.. I have purchased Elden Ring last christmass without ever playing a fromsoft title previously, with 0 clues what I'm getting into. I only did one play trough with my average Joe knight strenght build zweihander character. I played the game slowly, enjoyed every detail, every mechanic.. I have never in my life was so immersed in a world. The moment I stopped playing a video game and started thiking wtf would I actually do in the situation the game just became better and better with each step. About 1 month ago I finished the playtrough full completionist style exploring every little part of the map it took me 165 hours, from which I must admit that beating Malenia took me a good 40 hours at lvl 120 without looking up any guides or bs, just learning her on my own. I have played a huge number of games in my life but I can safely say Elden Ring is the best most detailed and most in depth world I have ever experienced. Unlike most modern titled that try to sell a dumbed down cinematic story experience, Elden Ring is actually a game.. A game that makes you end up on Vaaty's channel and spend 200 more hours just learning about lore :D I would buy this game 20 more times just to show my support to Miyazaki and Fromsoft for creating this absolute masterpiece of a game. When the dlc dropped I came in my pants 3 times and even now I'm sitting here in anticipation not knowing what to do with myself or what to play untill it drops. Guys, I don’t think we should just be focusing on the size here, cause in an interview, Miyazaki said that while the dlc will be around/slightly bigger than the size of limgrave, he also said something along the lines of the open world area in the dlc also being more densely packed with content then the other open world areas, so while there may be less space, that space will be a lot more action and content packed then the other Elden Ring open world regions, which I love to pieces, but even I have to admit, there is a excess of empty space in some areas (not by a large amount, because space used to give the environment detail and beauty IS space well used), but it is noticeable, especially on repeat playthroughs of the game.
Mind you, Miyazaki was worried that elden ring wasnt content-dense enough and mentioned that as something they addressed with the content density of the DLC, along with it being described as slightly bigger than limgrave Months ago, dataminers were saying the DLC is so big that it could be a game in itself

addressing a misconception: DLC is not going to be 60gb (it’s just how steam formats extended content stuff). HOWEVER, even if we are expecting the release to be around the size of Limgrave (which I am inclined to be skeptical of since From/Miyazaki have a track record of always underselling and overdelivering) the content volume is going to be incomparably denser. Plus, if we consider that base game ER costs 60$ (when the amount of its game content far exceeds its price point), it’s safe to assume that there will be no shortage of content in the DLC with a 40$ price tag

Honestly I would be willing to pay $100 for the DLC. I don't mind paying high price for something as high quality as fromsoft games. This DLC will be higher quality and have more worthwhile content than almost all $70 AAA games.

FromSoft has NO microtransactions, alot of the high level and cool gear is locked behind difficult tasks and not paywalls as it should be. The game rewards you for playing. Its one of the last remaining modern games that dont rip you, and release half baked content. Miyazaki is the GOAT! I hate paying for modern games, but the DLC will be 100% worth it, can't wait!!

I have purchased Elden Ring last christmass without ever playing a fromsoft title previously, with 0 clues what I'm getting into.
I only did one play trough with my average Joe knight strenght build zweihander character.
I played the game slowly, enjoyed every detail, every mechanic.. I have never in my life was so immersed in a world. The moment I stopped playing a video game and started thiking wtf would I actually do in the situation the game just became better and better with each step.
About 1 month ago I finished the playtrough full completionist style exploring every little part of the map it took me 165 hours, from which I must admit that beating Malenia took me a good 40 hours at lvl 120 without looking up any guides or bs, just learning her on my own.
I have played a huge number of games in my life but I can safely say Elden Ring is the best most detailed and most in depth world I have ever experienced.
Unlike most modern titled that try to sell a dumbed down cinematic story experience, Elden Ring is actually a game.. A game that makes you end up on Vaaty's channel and spend 200 more hours just learning about lore :D
I would buy this game 20 more times just to show my support to Miyazaki and Fromsoft for creating this absolute masterpiece of a game.
When the dlc dropped I came in my pants 3 times and even now I'm sitting here in anticipation not knowing what to do with myself or what to play untill it drops.

I do agree with you that there is too many repeat bosses but isn’t there problems with every souls game I just think that the quality of it besides that fact is almost unmatched. Based on your profile pic and your name couldn’t I ask why you like a game that has a bad second half with terrible bosses and areas in that latter half why would you make a profile of that? I don’t really think it’s fair to list everything bad about a game and not mention anything good about it. I just really like the game

Guys, I don’t think we should just be focusing on the size here, cause in an interview, Miyazaki said that while the dlc will be around/slightly bigger than the size of limgrave, he also said something along the lines of the open world area in the dlc also being more densely packed with content then the other open world areas, so while there may be less space, that space will be a lot more action and content packed then the other Elden Ring open world regions, which I love to pieces, but even I have to admit, there is a excess of empty space in some areas (not by a large amount, because space used to give the environment detail and beauty IS space well used), but it is noticeable, especially on repeat playthroughs of the game.
Mind you, Miyazaki was worried that elden ring wasnt content-dense enough and mentioned that as something they addressed with the content density of the DLC, along with it being described as slightly bigger than limgrave

it's probably the biggest DLC ever released in recent times, plus it contains A LOT of stuff, not only 2 or 3 bosses like we saw in past fromsoft DLCs, and the worldbuilding is just peak (from what we saw in the trailer). 10+ bosses, huge map, new weapons, weapon categories, spells, AoW, armors. i mean it's basically a little Elden ring game of its own

But he's also the one that paid extra for the most expensive edition of Starfield, even though he could play it on Game Pass for no extra cost, just so he could play it 2 days early. But one of those was his day off, so he didn't even get the value of day one views. He also bought the $100+ edition of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth for some stupid reason, and I don't think he ever got his money's worth of that either.

addressing a misconception: DLC is not going to be 60gb (it’s just how steam formats extended content stuff). HOWEVER, even if we are expecting the release to be around the size of Limgrave (which I am inclined to be skeptical of since From/Miyazaki have a track record of always underselling and overdelivering) the content volume is going to be incomparably denser. Plus, if we consider that base game ER costs 60$ (when the amount of its game content far exceeds its price point), it’s safe to assume that there will be no shortage of content in the DLC with a 40$ price tag

I don't buy all games that come out but since I enjoyed Elden Ring, I'd definitely buy the DLC in that price no question because I already know the quality is worth it for me before. I just want more ER content since I'm a fan and I find it replayable
Also if you're dissatisfied with the price then JUST wait... The game would be on sale in the future together with the DLC, so be patient and buy it when it goes on sale. I’ve played elden ring until ng6+ and I still find new lore and places and even read the sword thingys with writing on them. Who just rushes into the story and not enjoy a game that’s made for adventure. And considering no one has played it and it’s a new thing it’s probably a lot more than just 10 hours. Cause you can’t search up how to find this sword or blah blah or all those tutorials.
