“Sport #” is the same symbol used in sheet music to indicate “sharp” notes. But yeah, hashtag/pound sign too.

Sharp note is different than a hash/pound. On a sharp note sign the vertical lines are straight and the horizontal are diagonal (opposite of the hashtag), so Subaru messed that one up.

I had the WRX STi like 8 years ago, and it's my favorite car ever. It was absolutely amazing, and fantastic in the snow with Blizzaks on it with it's AWD. I want one again some day.

Never ever did i think i would say that. I even cancelled my service appointment at my local speed shop for a stage 3 package to be installed because i know a buyer will want it as close to stock and unmolested as possible

It's a musical term doug.
Not exactly sure what you're trying to say about "C#". But yes, pound (#) and sharp (♯) are different-tilted vertical lines vs. tilted horizontal lines. The sharp symbol does still exist, as you can see. The "S#" used for "Sport Sharp" on the dial is actually a pound sign, but pretty much everyone uses the pound sign instead of the real sharp symbol. Only time you're guaranteed to see ♯ is on sheet music.

Pixel, yeah. I was curious a few years back why it was called sharp or hash and looked it up. The thing with the sharp sign is that it's difficult to be able to type it out (browser, text, etc.), so commonly the hash is substituted. But in this case (I think), Subaru should have used the sharp symbol.

Interessting thing that in the U.S. the Spec C Type RA just is a regular WRX STi with added Parts, in Japan the Spec C Type RA is way more different to the Regular STi. It has reinforced domes, not only Carbon Fiber roof it also has Carbon Fiber Trunk Hood, thinner glass, a rear cross bar, shorter transmission, high precise ball bearings in the turbos for faster spooling, a larger water Reservoir for the intercooler spray and an air-oil cooler.
How much does a spec c cost brand new ??

The Japan model S208 Type NBRs, sold after a lottery from Feb 2018, go for more than US65,000 plus road taxes and registration, It's reasonable price considering the Japan economy, but they do have 329 bhp,a red line of 8,000 rpm, with an EJ20 engine, spray-cooled intercooler, 11:1 steering rack, and a front bonnet camera to see around narrow openings. They also have the carbon fibre roof and big rear spoiler, saving around 35kg in weight, and reducing the centre of gravity by around 6mm and applying some significant stiffening, but you cannot mount an integrated roof rack on these models. Only 350 of these were made, plus 100 'regular' S208s. Similar 'slots' in the body work that do nothing for cooling or airflow, the wheel openings are all enclosed. The regular Panasonic car navi system integrates seamlessly with both the main screen and the top screen.

Are all the automakers just going let’s throw a 50k price tag on our cars just because. I mean seriously. The cost of producing technologies goes down, safety futures are no longer a premium option and inflation hasn’t doubled in the last 18 years. So why have vehicle prices????

The STi RA isn't the average new car, which is why it's priced at $50k. This year the median new car transaction price in the U.S. is around $36k, which is where the most basic STI starts. Also, inflation has increased by about 50% since the year 2000.
I would never ever buy a brand new car, the most I will spend is 8 to 11k on a used car. And it has to be a Toyota. And they will outlast your brand new car.
A lot of safety features are mandated by govt regulations, so your car has 6x airbags not so much because they are so cheap to put in there that they may as well, but that they have to. Which makes your car more expensive.

Argh! You're missing all the internal/engine components that have been upgraded. Bigger Brakes (6 piston Brembos front and 2 pistons in the rear, suspension tweaks, re-tuned ECU, redesigned cold air intake, sodium infused exhaust valves, stronger pistons, larger exhaust system, shorter gearing, 68 pounds lighter, carbon fiber roof and spoiler, suede steering wheel, and finally, that nifty micro-fiber cleaning towel. If you can purchase, ship and install all of that for $13k into your base STI, I'll buy you a beer.

@@noahking24 400hp for 13k? With that poor return on investment I now understand why people are still putting twin turbos on their v8 cars. 1000+whp for a 10k kit (13 to really make it reliable on slicks). I always though these cars made way more than 400hp on stock internals.

The STI will always have a special place in my heart. This car was designed for the elements and I've always appreciated that. To me, I think its a one of a kind. AWD so it beats the Type R, rides better than a RS, looks meaner than the Golf R. This is absolutely a collector's car.
Skyrabbit Ranger civic type R killed this thing around the track in the latest motortrend comparison. I think it needs a complete redesign ASAP. Especially in the powertrain dept

“Rides better than the RS”... who gives a shit. You don’t buy a hot hatch/STi for a smooth ride. Focus RS has more hp, same weight, AWD, looks fucking beautiful, 10k less than this, sounds better, and has a far better interior
A lot of people care. AWD on the RS is an after thought as well. Keep in mind, the STI is a rally car.
