Marianne Williamson is an internationally acclaimed author and lecturer. For the last 35 years, she has been one of America’s most well known public voices, having been a popular guest on television programs such as Oprah, Larry King Live, Good Morning America, & Bill Maher. Seven of her twelve published books have been New York Times Best Sellers and four of these were #1. The mega best seller A Return to Love is considered a must-read of The New Spirituality. A paragraph from that book, beginning “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…” is considered an anthem for a contemporary generation of seekers. She has an amazing ability to see the big picture and connect the dots. She's more of a political analyst than a policymaker, so she doesn't offer practical steps to solve problems. Still, she has a valuable role to play because she articulates so clearly what the issues are and how they're interconnected. And she has a sensitivity to the role of history as well as spirituality in all of it. She seems deeply committed. I wish more people would listen to her.
She can learn with the help of her Vice President + Administration more of how to apply the practical steps to solve problems. One person does not possess all of the qualities to be the president of the United States, and she offers different qualities that we so desperately need.

First, she needs to compose the right staff and teach them holistically, before they would be able to give her viable input at the depth at which she addresses issues. BTW, she is a master at problem solving. It's been her career for 35 years.

@@reneepierce966 You lead from love...and then work from there. To the uninitiated, this sounds too fuzzy, but indeed, it is not so difficult. "Realists" will call her a dreamer..but look to see who got us here, so called "realists". 20th century thinking no longer works..we must evolve to new thinking.

The nation will never be healed, it is Jesus who is doing this, we are divided til the end.

In other words, she doesnt have any policy, she wants people to meditate and get a crystal cleansing.

Absolutely incredible! One of the best political speeches I have heard in my life. I don't mean to diminish this at all. It was political and spiritual, and personal, and global. Marianne is the perfect speaker for the nation. She said so much. Perhaps she and Oprah will come together on the same ticket.

Please, leave Oprah out of the equation. Oprah has shown that she has not really learned from all the wisdom teachers she has given a voice to over the years. Oprah buys into the capitalist main stream way of thinking. She talks the talk, but many times is not genuine, in terms of walking the walk. Oprah has done good, but is far from being the saint, that she is held up to be. People are hungry for hero's ,trust me, we do not need another rich person running for president. Take a look at all of her many ostentatious homes, her backing down from the meat industry, when she could have taken them on. Now she is hawking meat pizzas for weight watchers...

I had honestly never heard of her before the debates, but I’m so glad I know now. I really wish more people in this country were as enlightened as she is. It’s something I’ve been very much missing these past few years
Even if she doesn’t win, I think supporting her to keep her in the conversation throughout the primaries is still a good idea in my opinion

Marianne is a brilliant teacher, I''ve listened to her for nearly 20 years as a teacher of A Course in Miracles. She's a wonderful teacher and would make a great President. I'm a 67 year old cynical Progressive guy. I owe Ms. Williamson a huge and sincere apology. I was wrong and I APOLOGIZE. I had originally and ignorantly dismissed her as a crystal vibration angelic self help flake but I'll tell ya... I haven't heard a woman speak with such fire since the Sixties. I'm totally committed to Tulsi Gabbard but my fondest desire would be to see President Gabbard nominate Marianne Williamson as Secretary of Education.

There will always be detractors. Even some in this comment thread, no surprise. She has the guts to withstand the scrutiny, and if she does run for president in 2020 she will give specifics on policy the whole way through the process. This speech was not her time to do that; that was not its purpose. We are in dire need of a paradigm shift, and it can start here if she wants it to. I'm with her.
I have been listening to her for years sadly her message has become tainted from her original message in the late 80's. She sounds like a Politician vs Political Healer/ Actvist. My view is that she is more vested in becoming a Politician. To have known her this is sad because her message had always been so healing and now it is just more rhetoric of the same political doctrine. None of which offers any new solutions. America the land of the Free....to do almost anything you want within the confines of Government.

This is the first I’ve ever seen of Ms. Williamson, though I am reading her amazing book on The Course. I have to say...I’m a bit surprised by the energy emanating from her in this speech. To quote from her book, “Angry people cannot create a peaceful planet.”

And in her book, "Healing the Soul of America," she speaks of problems with our economic system, etc., which were the conclusions and body of term papers I wrote in 1989-1992!
