Safety tip for all: 5:40 I see in the background, before your bike trip, that your water spigot is in the On position. I NEVER leave 'shore water' or on-board water pump On when I leave camp. I watched a video some time ago about a new RV that had the toilet flush valve fail. They were gone for hours and the rig was totaled as the floor was fully swamped. Many RV parks have HIGH pressure water as they service many rigs. Just a layer of protection/caution, shut off water when not at camp. Damn, ole NE sure has it going on with great camping!
I can vouch for turning your pump off when you're not in the TV. I had this exact thing happen to me once: toilet flush valve failure. Emptied my entire water tank inside the RV... Not cool.
You make me smile when you talk about how cool the bike is. My favorite part of riding my bike were the smells you encounter when you're not locked in a car! Fresh cut grass, water, someone BBQ-ing, always a treat.
I know Eric has his haters but I been meaning to say this for a while now. A persons TRUE character is always shown by how he or she treats other less intelligent animals. You can't accurately measure who someone is by their past, you can only measure them in how they treat the world around them in their present. A bad person wants to kill and trash everything in sight. My little brother generally hates people, not because he is hateful, but because he loves the world and all the life in it that is being destroyed by us people. He loves mother nature and her animals with a passion and he would die to protect it. THAT is the true measure of a person worthy of his/her life. Eric is worthy of it.
Clean shaven, wearing bright colors with a positive attitude, what a great video. Have a friend that has a daughter, married a Nebraska farmer, (soy beans and corn) so it's nice to see the State they are living in There is more to the state then I had imagined. Thanks Eric and Jax for the 13 mins of entertainment
Jax is such a cool cat Eric, you sure are blessed to have such a great 4 legged friend. He's so laid back. Your video's have greatly improved over the past year or so Eric, not to say they haven't always been enjoyable but remembering when you had less then 30,000 subs You have come a long way (in more ways then one). Keep up the great job, Thanks and Be careful out there.
Nomadic Fanatic BRADSHAW Nebraska... famous for early 1900's when Two Tornadoes came through from 2 different directions... bad damage, so much so that they had trains come from Omaha for sightseers to gaulk at... Little eatery at both ends of town, lunch/dinners... used to have a movie theatre... but York is 9 miles east, so most everyone goes there. Maybe 2-3 years ago a Tornado was just West of town a couple hundred yards that tipped over the train on the tracks that was followed by Reed Timmer in his Dominator Tornado vehicle. Yep, the York Nebraska area is Tornado alley... but Oklahome, Kansas, Texas just to South get hit way more often.
I listened to those frog songs my whole childhood I love 'em! Grew up in the country with woods & a huge pond. Over two decades of heaven. Thanks for the memories. ♡
I got stranded in Grand Island for 5 days back in 2014 after I bailed from a 5 day tornado tour. Ironically, the day I left the tour and while in Grand Island, they got hit with severe weather, hail and wind! There were no rental cars available (they were damaged from the storm) so I was stuck there until a car became available to get me back to Denver Airport. After 4 days, I paid to change my flight departure from Denver to the closer Omaha airport and paid a small fortune to hire a private car to drive me there. But still, fond memories of the people of Grand Island and of Nebraska.
Eric so many people say so many bad things about you so it's about time someone says something good you and Jax are the reason I start exploring the open road the reason I got an RV if it weren't for watching your videos there's so many amazing things and opportunities I would have missed out on thank you brother from the bottom of my heart
tony indarv Tony, I concur. He is awesome and very public serving. The haters and trolls are the scum of social media, with no life and an appetite for drama. They think they're providing a service, all they're doing is cultivating hate. They do not deserve any acknowledgement and should be have their sites pulled.
Another good video. Glad to see more of Jax. I actually miss the times you spend working on projects in the RV. Maybe you can incorporate some of those clips as well to see the improvements you're doing. 🙂 As always, safe travels.
All these years I have been paying to camp out, How great is this Eric finding all these FREE places to camp, I need to get busy and check out these places..I love camping .
Lots of small towns in Nebraska have free camping with hookups. Usually you can only stay for a few days, but it's free! My brother lives in Exeter, Nebraska across he street from their park with free camping. So excited to see someone sharing my great home state!
Free 30 amp service AND water?? *Niiiiice!!* You're right, Nebraska has welcomed you with open arms. Unlike *some* other states (cough, cough, CALIFORNIA! , cough, cough) they actually want travelers to spend their money locally & support their towns. That's good hospitality there!
YES!!! Eric!! You’ll find free or super cheap camping all across the Midwest Red handled water hydrants are common around these parts. The handle color is the manufacturer.
Nebraska looks like a great place to visit. I loved the Jax footage! I think he likes it there too. The motorcycle has been a great addition for you. Safe fun travels.
Wow, you really like Nebraska! I'm glad you found it. I'm guessing you'll drive back through again one day. That deserted town was wild. I'm glad you have another set of wheels that you can go exploring in. I don't do any exploring cause I'm sick of driving the RV everywhere I have to go. I'm saving my pennies for a better system. Not sure what that is, but I'm weighing pros and cons. Stay cool, man. Hope Jax is well.
Nebraska is like my home state of Texas in the sense that you think you're NEVER gonna get out of it! During my 38 years of trucking I beat I-80 (or, did it beat ME? Lol!) so many times eastward and westward I wouldn't even dare to estimate how many times. But, 'I' found the people there to be very friendly and accommodating most places in the state. As for York, Nebraska [that you mentioned in the video] about all I got to see of 'it' was the Petro Travel Center truck stop... until my log book cooled off so I could go again! Hopefully all that will change soon when I go full time in my Roadtrek 190! I've been retired since 2015 and I'm climbing the walls to get back out on the road! As always great video, Eric...travel safe, stay happy, and, God Bless! (5/25/2018 Friday 5:55pmCST Houston, Texas)
okay that site is definitely on my radar... Thank you Nomadic and Nebraska from a future Canadian full timer! I will definitely spend my money in your community!
Eric - walking around that abandoned town was like an episode of the Twilight Zone! Love to Jax from my kitty cat Valentine here in my Disneyland neighborhood of Southern California! Keep on traveling & stay safe!
Nebraska sure seems RV friendly. You can’t beat free with hookups at a nice spot like that. I’d be sure to spend some $$ locally and make a donation when I leave.
Glad you love Nebraska! I have family there now. Years ago when traveling home from St Louis. We were in a car with 2 kids ages 3 and 5, I literally kept thinking of hurling myself out of the moving car! So boring! This was 33 years ago.
I guess I get it... But it's strange. Back home we barely ever see summer temps over 79 degrees for a high.... And we open our water parks in March. The rest of the country is hitting 90-100 degrees but doesn't think they can make any money unless it's July-August....
What a beautiful spot! We enjoyed Nebraska on our travels 10 years ago. If you go through Ottumwa Iowa, they have a beautiful park right in the city, inexpensive with hookups I believe. Amazing trip, thanks for taking us along!
Most public aquatic centers up here in the north country don't open till Memorial Day weekend, primarily because all the kids are in school till then anyway.
Getting closer. Within 108 miles anyway. Not sure we will be meeting up since we haven't heard from you. We made it to Gretna but will only be here until Saturday before heading west to your old stomping grounds-Ogallala.
The aquatic center will most likely open Friday or Saturday. This is the usual drill here they open on Memorial Day weekend. School usually ends for the summer during the week before.
We stayed at this campground passing through . Huge park. Had to leave suddenly when the creek started come over its bank.biggest rain storm I ever saw.
Awesome score! Great little campground. Ebeggers lmao 😂😂😂. I noticed that Walmart comparison again on your board in the rv a couple of videos ago. Got to tell ya, I cried laughing the first time I saw that. Love it. Happy camping Eric ⛺️
Ok....put Aurora down on my places to camp. Thanks so much for telling us about your FREE places to camp. When my husband & I go on the road in about a year, these FREE camping places will come on handy because we will be living off our Social Security. So “Thanks again!”
Hey Eric! I was in Grand Island while my mom was in the hospital 3 years ago. You are about and hour from where my brother lives. We ate there several times at a local restaurant. Glad you are having such a good time. Happy trails.
Pools in the Midwest open on the weekends starting Memorial Day weekend, and then are open full time once school is out. There wouldn't be enough business before then to justify opening, although it can get warm enough to make swimming attractive. Also the lifeguards are usually college kids and they aren't generally available before then. The pools will switch back to weekends only when school starts back up in the fall and then close down completely for the winter after Labor Day weekend.
You're out in my old stomping grounds. I went to college in Seward back in the 90s. I agree with the other comment about small town eateries. Lou & Mary Anne's Bar in Bee, NE has a Friday Fish Fry every week of the year, that's good and inexpensive. There's a place in York called Chances R that's good, too.
It's funny how you called that town, eerie and spooky. Where I live, which is very small, I am always delighted when there are zero sounds of humanity.
I have an important question for ya. When you go out do you leave a note of your location in your wallet or documentation just in case you have an accident? God forbid you do but how would anyone know where your RV is and JAX if something bad happened?
i hate to say it, but, most of the economic crashes, and heartburn started in the upper corn and wheat belt. when i was truck driving, i never will forget the HUGE shopping mall in omaha, that i made a delivery to. a nail salon, an optometry shop, a sears, and a pizza hut were open... out of a 250 shop mall. and the only light inside the mall was from the sky lights. past those dark, vacant, open, creepy, empty...everywhere. this was back in 2009. something tells me that mall probably is no longer standing, let alone open. it was really sad to see. i'm not sure where your travels will take you, but i wish you luck. carry on!!

You're right Eric. A little bike or scooter is a great way to get around. My little dog and I use a Zuma125. As long as the speed limit is 55 or less we're good.
Very cool. You do have a knack for finding great campsites. I hope to develop that ability. I think I have a while before I achieve that goal. This is almost a month now of full time in a truck camper. I got lots to learn.
If you’re going to Lincoln, check out the Museum of American Speed. It began as Speedway Motors & has evolved to what it is now. You also need to visit a Runza restaurant and have a runza. We’re enjoying your videos.
Great video! Live in Iowa and headed to Nebraska now! Hope to see u on the road! Field of dreams should b on/near Lincoln hwy. be sure to stop ! Dyersville ia off 30. everyone has been working hard to get it back in shape from all the vandalism that took place.
Hey, Eric. Maybe I missed it, but have u mentioned how ur cell booster is working now for u. I just read ur latest published video, (filmed before u shaved), just got me wondering how it’s working for u now. As always, enjoying ur travel videos, and wishing u and Jax safe and happy travels.
Most of the time swimming pools, aquatic centers in the .midwest dont open until Memorial Day or after. Whenever kids are out of school. Its been pretty cold in Iowa, not sure about Nebraska. Several rv parks in central iowa opened several weeks late due to concernsabout pipes freezing.
Are you "sure" that you're not editing the captions?? For whatever reason (better sound equipment??) the automated captioning on your site is one of the best I have seen on TH-cam.
I would have liked to have seen more of the cars on the poles. Perhaps you can throw in some interviews with the folks who run these places and get some history. I got a letter from Disney lawyers once. They are meanies :)
Off of HWY 80, on 84th Street, there is "Farmhouse Cafe & Bakery." Yum!!! If you want an excellent (albiet expensive!) Steak...look up "The Drover." It is a great steak for a once in a while treat!!

one of the things i would do is find some local eateries to chow down at. Small town places are a lot better than chain restaurants.

Too bad you are up north. In Fredonia, Ks at their airport, from the 21th through the 28 is the paramotor fly in called The Endless Foot Drag. A few You Tube Stars will be there and a lot of pilots flying their paramotors! It's a lot of fun and a great video oppurnity! Eric, Another great video!! Streeter campground in Aurora has been added to my bucket list.....LOL
I know this is off subject here, and, I do not expect to get an answer from this far back, but, I will give it a go and ask if you can recommend a website or place to determine how much solar I will need to run the items (nothing as extravagant as AC and such) i want to for boon docking Eric? You are by far an expert on this subject and I value your opinion.
LOVE YOUR VIDEO'S Keep up the great work and stay safe.
Missed the Marble Museum in York. Thanks Eric for the Nebraska good vibes. Nebraska is NICE.
You're right Eric. A little bike or scooter is a great way to get around. My little dog and I use a Zuma125. As long as the speed limit is 55 or less we're good.
Totally enjoyed the ride. We go by Grand Island almost yearly so I think we'll stop in your newest campground this year.
Thanks for sharing Eric.

Hey. Sometimes let Jax take you for a walk.
Well that was an interesting little town .
Makes me just want to get on the road even more .

Beautiful spot. Looks like a great place to catch your breath.
Thanks for the tips Erik. I'm going to be going through there next week.
Jack is a well trained cat, as most cats would run off.
Eric, Grab a hose and clean the A/C coil on the roof sounds like the coil is plugged up with dust and stuff.
They are waiting for the kids to get out of school , and there are swim clubs that have huge meets that people take their kids too in their RVs ..
I grew up in Aurora. I have seen the creek flood with over 5' of water where were standing only one time.

#170 Hi There, Eric. I'm at Donner Pass. It was freezing here last night. Great Video's of I-80 in Nebraska. I will soon be at some of those places.
Hey, Eric. Maybe I missed it, but have u mentioned how ur cell booster is working now for u. I just read ur latest published video, (filmed before u shaved), just got me wondering how it’s working for u now. As always, enjoying ur travel videos, and wishing u and Jax safe and happy travels.
Liked those car characters and the yard art. Like the quietness of that town.
When you make a zombie movie you can film it in that town.
So great you found that free RV park.
Safe travels!
I love how he called it "Skeeter Park", hopefully they weren't biting too bad.
Christ it is Memorial Day weekend, everything should be open.
What a great stop! Thanks for sharing my friend, have a great day!
Just rode my bike thru Aurora on Monday the 21st, living in Lincoln.
i love those little towns!
Nebraska is awesome!!
Thank you for the positive, interesting, entertaining video.
Have nice day !
Are you "sure" that you're not editing the captions?? For whatever reason (better sound equipment??) the automated captioning on your site is one of the best I have seen on TH-cam.
That was a amazing find, Wow and free with hookups and dump. That's way cool. Thanks for sharing. :)
Excellent!
I would have liked to have seen more of the cars on the poles. Perhaps you can throw in some interviews with the folks who run these places and get some history. I got a letter from Disney lawyers once. They are meanies :)
Great video thanks Eric
Off of HWY 80, on 84th Street, there is "Farmhouse Cafe & Bakery." Yum!!! If you want an excellent (albiet expensive!) Steak...look up "The Drover." It is a great steak for a once in a while treat!!
Dang! In Omaha!
Up north.... EVERYTHING opens up on Memorial day.....
Bradshaw, Nebraska has a population of 270. It is not deserted. Have fun!
I think Dumas Texas has a free RV park too, I was there a couple of years ago.
You find the best corkie places thanks for sharing 😍
