yes I agree with you and she also gives really good tips that makes a different between an average dish and a really good one. I love her videos. Thank you Marion :)
Girl you could even expand your cuisine variety to Western because you'd totally nail it!! Your flair in cooking is outstanding and you have amazing ideas and excellent taste in food before anything else!
Absolutely amazing. The mushrooms were perfectly done before you made them soak up all the flavor. Beef and mushrooms are one of the best combinations ever, and this was a masterpiece.
Greetings from Sacramento, CA. I made this dish last night for my husband and me. We loved it! The miso broth took the flavors of the mushroom sauce over the top!. I made two small beef tenderloins - they were so tender and the mushroom sauce made the meal spectacular! Thank you! I also loved your Miso Butter Eggs. And, your Sticky Pork Belly Rice Bowl! I love your recipes. Thanks again!
Made this tonight, absolutely gorgeous, home cooking following your recipes has been a real eye opener! Only reason to eat out in restaurant is for the experience, not the quality of the food! Thank you for your efforts, much appreciated.
Tried this for dinner last night- amazing! We didn't have steak so used it on chicken instead (replaced beef stock with chicken) and it still paired nicely. Definitely trying it on steak soon.
Made this tonight - a couple of substitutions due to lockdown grocery supply (red onion for shallot, miso soup sachet - which I picked the wakame out of) and forgot to deglaze with sake - absolutely wonderful. already planning to take these flavours to my creamy mushroom soup recipe. Yum. Thanks Marion
I always make my mushroom sauce while my steak is resting after I’ve cooked it. I just chuck the mushrooms into the same pan so it can soak up all the leftover butter and brown bits from the steak. That way, I don’t have to reheat my sauce again either. I can’t wait to try your recipe Marion! No doubt it’ll be delicious just like all your other ones. Thank you so much!
Im so poor at the moment, but I’ve been following Marion for years just so that I can second handle explore all these fancy types off foods. Thank you. AND I miss Mama NOI!!! 😅🥰
Marion, I made this again last night. I used a filet mignon steak 😋. It came out incredible again. This time I did use white miso. Couldn't find it the first time. I called a couple of stores they said they had miso but when I got there they lied so I improvised. It still came out great. I used white wine. I cook with wine, sometimes I even put some in the dish that I'm cooking. Just love your Thai dishes.
Made this tonight for dinner but I used awase miso instead of white, forgot the lemon zest and chives! And for the steak I used wagyu ribeye. So so good. 💙💙💙💙
I tried it on the day this was released and it was SUPERB! The miso adds so much extra flavor to the sauce, there is no way back now. Tip for everyone, just let the sauce thicken up by itself, don't add cornstarch like i did to speed up the process. It didn't impact the flavor, but it definitely didn't look as appetizing.... :P
So good to see you still keeping up the amazing tasty recipes in these hard times your inspiring us all to enjoy our dinners and so so tasty you've helped change my cooking habits since subscribing my pantry always now has a good selection of sauces from the Chinese supermarket thanks to you and where is your mum ! We need more duo cooking !! Stay safe and tasty ! xxx
Double, no Triple this recipe, when we are finally out of this coved-19 dilemma, invite your friends over and celebrate with this meal!!! I made it tonight, didn't have beef on hand, but had pork steaks....HALLELUJAH!!! This is another super delightful recipe from Marion!!! Marion please make us a new cookbook to buy!! 😁😁😋😋🤗🤗
I couldn't find miso paste at my local grocery store. I found miso broth though! If I used a bit of that and mix with some beef broth, could that reach a successful result? I LOVE your channel! I have made 2 of your recipes and I LOVE THEM!
I loosely followed the recipe eyeballing and substituting ingredients (rice vine vinegar instead of sake, natural cultured coconut yoghurt instead of cream, no thyme so added some parsley, dark miso paste, chicken stock) The recipe is fool proof. Thank you so much Lovely Lady. I am a fan. ❤️
Yes this one's a keeper, I found some mushrooms growing in my back yard and used this recipe along with salmon instead of steak to cook them. Fantastic!
I love mushroom sauce and was skeptical at first looking at the ingredients but then I made it. Wow that is delicious. Searing those mushrooms is definitely the key.
I made this yesterday, I didn't have any miso paste so I improvised I put a splash of soy sauce and fish sauce in the beef stock and some thyme sprigs. I pan seared the rib eye steak with the thyme sprigs and butter. It was the best mushroom cream sauce and rib eye steak I've eaten. Thanks
Marion, I made this again. The lemon zest really does make a big difference 😋 I bought a 2.63 lb ribeye and pan seared it in my cast iron skillet and finished it in the oven since it was so thick. I ended up turning it into a beef stroganoff/ I don't know. It is so delicious with mashed potatoes. I'm still eating leftovers on Christmas day. Merry Christmas 🎅
YASSSS MISO! I love this stuff. I am not a soup person, however, in our crazy cold Canadian winters, nothing better than a cup of miso soup (or when my blood sugar drops). Fulfilling, and so yummy! I love steak sooooo... Nummy. My only prob is the shallot/chives. Can't do onions. But am definitely trying this. Fun fact, you can get tubs of miso at Walmart (for us north Americans), or natural food stores, if you have no Asian markets. Some need to be refrigerated, but the tubs sold at Walmart can be kept in pantry until open.the ones I got at natural foods need to be refrigerated. And they are allll good. Btw, I live for Marion's reactions and faces when she taste tests ❤️😏😍😁
Just don't use the meat lol. She added the steak at the end so you could feasibly make this dish and eat it over potatoes or any veggie. I added pasta to mine as I don't really care too much for steak and it worked perfectly with noodles!
Thanks for a fantastic recipe. I want to make this over the weekend. A question: Is there a miso alternative? The sodium runs to high for me with miso. Thank you!
I love your channel.. I made a few of your dishes and they were absolutely delicious. ! I’m making your caramelize Vietnamese chicken tonight.. you have a wonderful voice a beautiful look and great kitchen skills and talent… are you an actual chef or just dam good home cook ? You should be on Food Network!…keep up the good work! I’ll be following 😉
Marion, this is one of my favorite videos of yours. I love the recipe. I love your love and expressions for this dish. You and your team produce some of the most beautiful, professional videos and dishes. I'm a fan. I love the Chef's Table cinematography but, your team captures light so elegantly. In the pan, the bowl the plate. Nice Job. Now, the same lighting for dishes doesn't always translate to portrait lighting. And frankly Scarlet, I'd love to see a bit more drama, color and warmth on you and your Mom's beautiful faces.
Funny that a couple of hours before you posted this I made a mushroom sauce too haha. For my pork chops but I didn't have white wine so I used red. I need to try your recipe next time, it looks amazing.
I could listen to Marion describe food all day. She articulates the flavors and textures so well. 🥩 🍄
yes I agree with you and she also gives really good tips that makes a different between an average dish and a really good one. I love her videos. Thank you Marion :)

Awesome!! Great to hear about your substitutions too!
This looks absolutely incredible, next quarantine meal most definitely 😍 thank you!

I’ve got steaks and mushrooms in the fridge at the moment, definitely making this tonight 🤤
I like your creative mix of miso, amazing!

I just made this tonight and was NOT disappointed AT ALL!!! 😋 YUM! Thank you Marion!!💗💗
I couldn't find miso paste at my local grocery store. I found miso broth though! If I used a bit of that and mix with some beef broth, could that reach a successful result? I LOVE your channel! I have made 2 of your recipes and I LOVE THEM!
This was extremely delicious!! The only thing we did differently was we grilled the steaks.
Love steaks bathed in the butter - so tasty, but I always wondered what to do with the butter after you're done cooking?
Yummm I absolutely have to try this! Thanks Marion.
After following all your recipes, I think the numbers of views per video of your should be more than 500,000 each 👍🏼...from AU 😊
I always cook my steak first and then throw my mushrooms in to pick up all the brown bits in the pan while my steak is resting!
Me too! I cook the mushrooms in the beefy, salty, oil. Then add cream and garlic, shallots, whatever else 😁
Yeah but asians like their sauce separately.
It is very important to not mess with the mushrooms. The flavor is amplified when left alone, just walk away.
Marion, you are an artiste! I think charring the mushrooms at the beginning was genius.
Tried this today and it really was so amazingly tasty ! Thanks, Marion

I love mushroom sauce and was skeptical at first looking at the ingredients but then I made it. Wow that is delicious. Searing those mushrooms is definitely the key.

Looks so substantially delicious.

Omg the miso taste w mushroom and cream is the best. Thanks, I cooked this dish and everyone loved it so muchhhh
Ah! A decadent keto/low carb recipe from Marion I can eat! Looks divine!
That steak looks incredibly tasty and I can literally smell the mushroom souce through my screen
A lot of her dishes you can replace with tofu, leave out the meat, or just use a hearty vegetable like potato/sweet potato/brocoli/cauliflower :)
Just don't use the meat lol. She added the steak at the end so you could feasibly make this dish and eat it over potatoes or any veggie. I added pasta to mine as I don't really care too much for steak and it worked perfectly with noodles!
Love ur video always interesting recipes ❤️
I just made this and O.M.G it’s total heavenly!
Absolutely amazing! I'm gonna try this on beef tongue!

Thanks for a fantastic recipe. I want to make this over the weekend. A question: Is there a miso alternative? The sodium runs to high for me with miso. Thank you!
Never saw mushrooms get such love. Now I know the secret. Thanks!

Marion I love your recipes. Question on this one. Could I prepare the fried mushrooms a day or two ahead of time? Then finish the sauce mix later?
