Currently in the process of doing this fix, my blower fan decided to crack this winter, replaced that today, and found out I need to swap the resistors as well.

I know this an old post but I wanted to say thank you. I ordered the part on amazon using the doorman part numbers and this fixed me right up. My local dealer wanted $475.00 for the parts and installation. I'm 22 dollars , a 7/32 nut driver and my crimpers in and its done!

Man thank you for posting this I had the same problem in both of the Tacoma’s I’ve had, 2008 and 2015, I knew it had to be something between the switch and blower motor because I could feel my AC and heat system putting out the appropriate temperature but the fan wouldnt run. Had I’d known all this time it was just a faulty connection that was right there behind no panels or covers it woulda been fixed before summertime lol I was dreading this project expecting the worst like my blower motor is toast or the selector switch which I’d have to tear into the dash to replace. I was thinking it could’ve been the motor or switch in my 2015 Tacoma because the selector switch didn’t work in any position, but this just goes to show it’s best to check for the little things before assuming it’s something major. thank you for helping me beat the heat on this hot ass work day :)

TY for the video. The Toyota bulletin and most of the postings seem to say the blower motor will only work on high speed. I had the top 2 speeds and not the 1st 2. Bought the Dorman kit online, about $20, and only needed the resistor. Wiring harness was fine. Very easy job. Hope this helps someone.

This was the solve for my 2011 Tacoma.
The only thing different for me was that all settings for the blower wouldn’t work including Hi.
I wiggled the wires and then everything turned back on for all settings.
    Thank you for posting!

I'm having the same problem with my 2006 Isuzu i 280, it was fixed two years ago and the mechanic claimed he replaced a part on the fan and it cost me around $ 300 dollars and now I'm having the same problem again.
    I'm planning to order the
Service manual and see what its going on.
I remember when I had the problem before my son will
kick slightly on the bottom of the glove compartment and the AC will work on all settings...so may be my truck has the same feature as yours.

wish me luck...I am going to try and see if i can fixed it myself...

Me too but mine has no fan turn on on high settings but low medium has fan and heat. I did replace the resistor but still nothing! Im guessing the wires are fried huh?

I have the same issue. I must warn anybody who may come across this that it's best to replace/fix the wiring harness sooner than later. I simply did the wiggle fix over and over again until, about a year later, I smelled something burning and my air no longer worked, even filling with that wiring harness to the resistor. I found that the wiring harness behind the actual control knobs on the dash began to melt, likely due to that short that, for whatever reason wasn't blowing fuses. Needless to say, I almost burned my truck up and now have another harness to fix and a control module to replace because I put it off.
Also, if you buy the kit, may as well replace the blower motor resistor (they are cheap anyway) but we are finding that the resistors themselves typically aren't bad, just that lousy wiring harness that goes to it. Hope this may help someone

This is the most helpful comment. I thought there may have been a deeper issue considering it the replacement doesn’t even last a full year.

Do you have a part number for the harness?
