- Replacing the burnt out lightbulbs in the 2nd Gen Tacoma climate control. Some people have been quoted $300+ to fix this but as you can see in the video, it takes about 5 minutes with $15 worth of parts.

when you removed the right knob the tiny metal spacer was still attached.... remove it and it will sit like the rest of them. you're welcome.
Thank you for the video and instructions. I replaced my Climate Control bulbs and knobs yesterday and they are a 100% improvement. The replacement went as pictured in the video. Very much appreciated.
My 07 Tacoma is about to hit 300K miles. I’ve had to replace the resistor once due to this issue after getting tired of reaching down under the passenger side to wiggle the wires to get the ac to work in slower speeds. I’m about to replace both light bulbs from the panel like you just did and likely ordering the knobs as well. Everyone tells me to get a new truck already but I just can’t part ways with my old truck, it’s been so good to me after years of abuse.
Just replaced my blower last night. It’s the blower motor. Only worked on high. Now it works on all settings.
Check a small module resistor with 4 wire plug for the AC blowermotor speed selector switch.
Great video , thanks for the hints , I had that problem .
Taco Time, good work!
Thanks, I placed an order.
I had the same problem with my fan speed and I'm pretty sure it was a resistor.
This video was great, I want that touch screen😭
Upgraded nobs Change the entire Look and man that looks good
Can you send a link for the bulbs and controls?
The pins are loose inside the Blower motor resistor they get extremely hot which is why there in inside the Blower Box
The cable is usually fried i rewired mine and works perfectly fine now ac on all settings
If off or high are the only options Then the Blower motor Resistor Went bad It's a common issue on all vehicles when nothing but high works 6:00
Yup, it's pretty well documented in the community it looks like
I messed around with my radio and now it turns on but no sound. Did I accidentally pull out a wire? If so do you know which one?
How many miles on your Tacoma when the resister started to fail? I ask because I just bought a "15 Sport with only 7k miles on it.
This is good info bud I've seen other vehicles where that larger one is usually the temperature turn knob maybe 🤷♂️
I checked and it looks like the 3 knobs are the same, the peg on the right side one sticks out more and the OEM knob must have accounted for that
Can you give more info on those knobs? Very informative video..

These knobs do have a tendency to have the end cap pop off after a time...a little glue fixes it right up
That pry tool? Never seen one before, where can that be found?
Amazon
Hello Tim, do you know if it's possible to have that style of knob (or anything else really!) on a 4th gen 4runner?
The 4runner has push buttons rather than knobs so I don't know of any upgrades for it
@@CanadianGearhead I was thinking more of the entire unit replaced instead of just a button swap
Too bad that does exist, that would be just awesome! Thanks ;)
I did this on my truck like 3 years ago. I replaced it with blue lights, and the same nobs
Did your knobs fit the same way as mine do?
@CanadianGearhead yes they did perfectly I can see blue light in the clear ring and awesome bihinde the nob ...I like the way they look.......and I replace the resistance under the dashboard because my AC stops working was way to easy to do it.....Amazon products...😊
@@jesuscisneros2555link to blue bulbs ?
Wanna send me 2 of those bulbs lol
The resistor will burn up and I found it's better to change it out for about $30.
