@@frontroom I hope you guys are able to do a reaction to Make It Better by Anderson .Paak some day. Also, not sure if you've ever heard of an artist named DRAM but I think your dad would really enjoy his music, Cooking With Grease, Sweet VA Breeze & Something About Us are good ones. Thanks again for all the content you guys put out, much love🖤
Erykah Badu said about Anderson.Paak that he feels like a friend you haven’t seen in a long time but whenever you do it’s like no time has passed by I feel like that describes his music the best
In "The Heart Don't Stand A Chance" He's doing a Dilla style beat where the hi-hat is actually lazily BEHIND the beat. Very hard for live drummers to emulate. Questlove also masters it, and these drummers are few and far between (AND TO SING ON TOP IS MONUMENTAL). You guys are spot on in recognizing the intricacies of this man's talent! Enjoy you two so much. Thank you for letting us into these beautiful moments!
You just hit on a key difference and nuance between R&B/Funk vs Rock... the former (and its instrumentation) in general tends to be slightly behind the beat, the latter often slightly aggressive over the beat. I love all genres and play multiple instruments. Transitioning from playing R&B to Rock and vice versa can be humorous because it takes a bit to get my timing back in sync.
I was rhe same way, my dad and I were best friends. Lost him at 52 from a surprise heart attack. I'll never get over it. Music was our thing and now its been years and I still can't pick the guitar up again yet
I discovered Paak with his "Yes Lawd" collaborative album with Knxwledge on the legendary Stones Throw Label(Suede can from the album btw). I recommend the "Scared Money" song from that album as something to react to or listen to for anyone interested.
One of my favorite Tiny Desk 👌🏾 I discovered Anderson Paak thanks to this and since I absolutely love his music and his style. His album “Malibu” is amazing.
You picked one of my favorite artists…this was really good! My boyfriend and I love to watch Tiny Desk performances and we will watch this together, when I get home!

I love the vibe you both share. You should review this album and let your dad enjoy the studio art this album has. Im a big .Paak fan. Thanks for sharing the views you both do💯
Andy’s got it all. Talent, personality, his love for music, and can’t help but love his smile. He was taught how to play drums in church. Yes Lawd!! 🔥🔥 sub’d ❤️
About drumming… you guys were saying how even talking while drinking is hard. Check out Dave Chappell’s Block Party and there is a part where Quest Live is drumming and is directing the artists at the same time. I will try and find the minute marker when I get a chance. It’s pretty amazing.
I can't remember what show I first saw Anderson Paak but he was performing at an award show. And it was a new song but the kids stood to their feet just bcuz of the groove. I was hooked. I love his old school sound and that raspy voice 🤗 He is extremely talented.
Seeing as the son doesn't really know much about Andersons incredible catalogue either, I'd like to suggest that you both listen to his MALIBU album which is a bonafide classic with phenomenal instrumentation and fantastic lyricism. Funk, Rock and Soul are the name of the game with this one. Once again - MALIBU. Three of the songs from the Tiny Desk are from that album. The last song, Suede, is from a different project and collaboration with NXworries. MALIBU - indulge yourselves.
A good follow up would be the Free Nationals Tiny Desk. Some of my favorite Tiny Desk concerts that y'all should consider reacting to are Masego, Usher, Freddie Gibbs, and Erykah Badu
This was my first time watching this tiny desk concert, I must say I truly enjoyed watching it with you both I actually learned a few things listening to your commentary. Miracles and blessings to you and yours ✌️ 💜.
Been watching you videos for a while now and to so see the joy and discovery in your fathers face when listening to some of the best poetry every created is amazing. Music truly is a universal language.
I had the wild surprise of seeing Anderson live at the beginning of his career. He opened for a rapper named superduper kyle. I was front stage and got to watch this beautiful man drum his way into my heart. Ive been a fan ever since and its so wild to watch him become so iconic in music.
If you guys ever have the chance to see Anderson Paak in concert .... please please go to it. Anderson Paak is AMAZINGGGGG plays multiple instruments and has such a great vibe all around.... I got to see him in concert the night before he got a Grammy.... amazing. You won't regret it 😎 Edit: Anderson Paak and Thundercat were both discovered by Mac Miller 🕊
Love your reviews...spot on. Is there anyone you've introduced your pop too that he hasn't liked? As to this wonderful artist, I've actually never heard him before! I absolutely love his vibe and stunning smile to boot! Going to have to go find everything I can
Great reaction. I would love to see pops react to the super sonic album. Also, another neo soul artist out of California is Goapele. Her biggest hit is Closer. Would love to see you react and other bay area artist.
Hey guys, love your channel. I’ve been a subscriber for almost a year now. If you love that Paak tiny desk, you should absolutely watch his Vans concert. Not on the channel because it’s like an hour long lol, but definitely sit back and enjoy it. You’ll get to see how great he is of a drummer, as well as the rest of the Free Nationals as a band
Yall should check out Natalia Lafourcade's tiny desk concert! My favorite of them all. Mac Miller's and Anderson Paak's are in the top 3 for me. Keep it up guys 👍🔥
I watch your videos all the time but y'all commenting on this one is what made me subscribe, great job!!! I'm about to go watch his tiny desk again....xoxo
Hey fellas!!! Thank you for the channel and good work you're doing. As someone who has played drums since I was 12 (29 now) and plenty of live gigs, I can affirm that A Paak is a stellar drummer. This is my favorite tiny desk 100% because of that.
RM has a new album called Indigo that has features by both Anderson Pakk and Erykah Badu. RM is a rapper from the Korean group BTS. He also did a tiny desk concert promoting the album
You have yet to see Anderson actually "go wild" on the drumkit. ;).Watch some of his live performances, beginning with both his Stephen Colbert appearances.
Anderson is actually 1/4 Korean. His mom is 1/2 korean and 1/2 black. So with his wife being korean, his son is 5/8 korean. And I think Paak is pronounced pack.

Not rap, but a insane NPR tiny desk your Dad might enjoy is by Superorganism. Best way i can describe it is "music just being music"

Yiu guys would LOVE Masego. He is a true creative... sings, plays seversl instruments, snd has an amazing ear.
Paak is such a true musician goes way deeper then rap to keep beat while also rapping is not easy at all the man is truly talented
Anderson Paak, Thundercat, JD Beck, Domi, Bruno Mars, Leon Bridges... Let's just enjoy this revival of real musical talent.
100% this !!!
And August Green!
As if it ever died…

hes also not just playing the hi hat behind the beat, im pretty sure he is anticipating the snare hit, which just adds to the craziness of that beat

Anderson Paak drummed at the Superbowl with Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Kendrick Lamar, 50cent & Mary J
Anderson as a drummer is better than about 70% of industry drummers! And the simultaneous singing/rapping makes him such a rarity
I love the relationship kai has with his dad. He seems like a really cool chill guy and it obviously rubbed off on him too.
I was rhe same way, my dad and I were best friends. Lost him at 52 from a surprise heart attack. I'll never get over it. Music was our thing and now its been years and I still can't pick the guitar up again yet
Anderson has such an infectious smile, such a great smile and matching energy
Anderson Paak and Mac Miller actually did a great collab song together called "Dang" that is actually even more relevant in retrospect.
Yes! I would love for them to respond to this
If you watch Usher's Tiny Desk, they actually show the audience...and it is a great tiny desk!!!! enjoy!

Paak is legend. His vocal control and rasp.... plus his rhythm...............AS HE SINGS just true musicianship all around
