Every couple of months I find myself searching “Mac Miller Reaction” because reaction typically means it’s someone’s first time hearing it and I’d give just about anything to relive hearing Mac for the first time. You just gave me the biggest rush of emotions. I can feel, that you feel, how I feel about Mac. It’s so deep man. Thank you so much. Genuinely earned a new fan.
Being a fan since I was 14 listening to him in 08-09 and seeing his career progress, and evolve was a site to behold. Dudes music is timeless and that's rare for most artist.
Scru you’re def not the only one crying for this last song.. that man was in pain fr. His ability to express himself was damn near unmatched but it just wasn’t enough. RIP to Mac, he’s getting the rest he so desperately needed.
Yeah he literally posted right after he found out he died something like”check on your friends , I love you I’m sorry” don’t quote me on that but it was something along those lines
I tried my freshman year, I’ll admit it. That’s when Best Day Ever dropped and I refused to listen to it and was just hatin just to hate (that was just who I was back then). About 8 months later, this shorty I was dating ended up doing a turntable mix for me of Mac Miller song to try to put me on, and because I love Turntable scratches I’m general. She was successful, and been a Mac fan ever since. Didn’t realize how his sound was legit hip-hop til I heard scratches on the songs 😂😂
Don't feel weird about crying on camera. Mac's songs hits me a lot too and even though this is like the 1,000th time I'm listening to these songs I just cried during the entire 2009 performance with you lol. It's beautiful to see real reactions and to know how much impact Mac's art has on you -- and on us. RIP Mac ❤︎
I Cry about mac almost everyday .know the shit sounds weird, but man I grew up to everything of his, and witnessed his great evolution One of the most relatable artist ever...how many reactions have we seen where people cry from mac..straight feels
First song I have ever cried too. Was Mac’s song called “blue world” my girl sent it to me after we had a nasty fight and it fucking broke me. Love love that song
Mac is the first celebrity I’ve actually cried for, dude got me through some rough times in my life. Ended up seeing him on his Good: AM tour and shared a joint with him while he rapped on stage. He was such a kind soul. To this day my 2 year old will ask to listen to this tiny desk concert and just bob is head to the beat. Mac is a vibe and every age of person gets it.
Mac definitely got me through the toughest times as well. He was the first artist I ever seen live in concert and I will FOREVER cherish and remember that. I cried and still cry to this day and will never not love Mac Miller
Every time I hear "2009" I get super emotional. It's an amazing song and I always think about the impact that Mac had on the music industry and my life. I'm tearing up as I'm writing this now. I feel you bro
Also graduated in 09. Heard that beautiful song when I was in a baaaad place & almost made a decision I couldn’t take back. Over a year sober & very grateful I didn’t go that route. 2009 let’s me feel a strange combination of bittersweet vibes
Scru I've been watching your reactions for years ain't nothing corny about having true feelings when real music and real lyrics mean something to you. I hope you have a blessed day. I tune in everyday. Much respect for posting you being vulnerable on camera.
Another aspect to why Mac was so soulful is he played a lot of instruments and understood melodies much more than just spitting bars. He was a music Genius. Loosing Mac was like loosing a friend, that shit hurt bad.
You said at the end… “this was specifically written for me” (2009)… that’s the amazing thing thing about Mac… there are millions of people that feel that same emotion. Mac was down to earth and relatable. His music (and 2009 specifically) speaks to the masses, almost everyone can relate or empathize. I listen to it when I’m thinking of my dad, or a few of my old home boys that I’ve lost. It reminds me of watching and living through there struggles and not being able to help them in any meaningful way. They were beautiful flawed people, and almost everyone has friends or family (past or present) that are flawed and yet still beautiful. Mac hits different because he had soul and was relatable. An this is coming from a 40 year old that listens mostly to “old rock” and country music lol…
God DAMN it man.... it's been so long since Mac passed, and when I saw this video and was so hyped to see the reaction, that hype turned to tears in 5 minutes.. and it suddenly all feels like yesterday. I rarely have the energy to listen to this because it hurts, but when I do it's so worth it. What a beautiful son of a bitch this man was. Rest in power Mac
Damn. This is a real reaction video, none of that over-emoting, click bait, BS. Just a dude who knows and feeling a lot, or more, of what fans feel when they hear this. Thanks, man.
Crying myself out of Joy! Emotion is nothing for you to be ashamed of Brodie, I know exactly how you feel! Not just from losing Mac but also losing ppl and the dark place I was in around that same timeframe. 2009 gets me every time, especially this performance specifically! Grateful for Life & Growth. Blessing to you Scru🙏🏾💫
As soon as them strings start playin on 2009 tears start rollin. Every time. Still hurts that he’s gone and I don’t think it ever won’t stop hurting. Dude was a true artist.
He also had the most growth for a white rapper. Starting with KIDS and BSP fresh out of high school and getting to where he ended as fast as he had is incredible.
Fr his whole career was nothing but GROWTH with every project. Every time we could see he was a little more mature and a little wiser. Then we got this album swimming which was a masterpiece.
And that's why it hurt so much because the dude was reaching new heights and it was so fucking dope to watch. Like some proud friends, we were like damn dude is doing something with this shit.
This was fire …never got into Mac Miller till I saw this tiny desk… Another awesome tiny desk is Scarface, I graduated in 93 and the geto boys were in constant rotation ✌️❤️
Haven't even started the video yet but already liking and commenting. I didn't throw Mac's name in here because he has passed, but he is one of the best white musicians period. He loved hip hop with all his heart too. My first ever concert was Mac, over ten years ago now. This man changed so many lives, inspired an entire generation of independent artists.
That was the most honest and beautiful reaction I've ever seen. I had never even heard of Mac till I saw this Tiny Desk concert on TH-cam about 3 years ago... and it tore me in half emotionally. Love the transparency of your reaction to this!
This is why i really respect and like Scru, he is just Real AF and he speak from his heart and soul in this, if you was there with Mac music u just know and it's hit different, it pissed me off that we lost so many great talent, especially in hip-hop, just imagine if all this people was here to this days... damn.. R.I.P. Larry Lovestein.
Scru…..I can’t tell you how long I’ve been listening to this and I never thought I’d see the day one of my top reactioners watching this Edit: I wrote this before watching the video…love you scru thank you for being vulnerable
I just broke down during this video. When said, "Tomorrow is around the corner, but it's gonna be worth it if I make it," that hit me so hard. R.I.P Mac Miller. We miss you bro. 😢
Mac Miller made music that bring out feelings that you didn't even know you buried inside that's why everyone loves mac he makes music that you didn't even know you could relate too R.I.P mac great to see my favorite reactor reacting to my favorite musical
Sorry for your losses my friend. Your honest love of music and the human connection is so evident, real and relevant. When it comes down to it, memories are what we have and will always will carry with us. No need to apologize for your reality. Keep doing you Scru. 🧡
Been waiting for this reaction for a long time Scru. Might be one of the best live performances ever. "A life ain't a life 'til you live it." Edit#2: Just came back to watch some Mac reactions again and noticed that there ain't NO SKIPS on your video, which speaks louder than anything. You're most replayed moment is the beginning of the reaction. Usually people skip around, go to their favorite part, but for this video the entire reaction is our favorite part. I'ma try not to cry this time lol.
No mater how hard my life gets i find myself coming back to mack randomly. I've cycled out other artists that are much newer and have realized im quick to do so. In macks case tho i just can't. He's got that soul and genuine heart in his music and he cared about the music but equally as important; he cared about the people who would hear it. Most current day (new generation) rappers im sad to say miss the mark entirely. Yeah sure, when its time for business we all got those back to back gun bar havin types or the fast lyrical rappers choppin the track up...or J. Cole I just remember when I first herd "loud" I was wrecked at a party off 2 and when I woake up and played that "frozen pizza" for the first time I was hooked like a fish. I find myself envious of those who discover him for the first time cuz the journey was well worth the wait on a new song or album drop. R.I.P Mack!
Mac's ability to evoke emotion through his music is incredible. It feels like he's in the room with you when you listen to Swimming.. Most Dope, That's Forever. You got a new fan
Cried right with you man, ive heard this song hundreds of times and cried to it many, but the cathartic experience i had listening to it this time was bc you extended your hand by making yourdelf vulnerable in this upload. I've got too many people from 2009 that aren't here rn, young and old. Like he said, me and you we ain't that different. Much love
Man, for me it started with a huge grin and my head bobbing to the beat, and ended with me crying along with you. I'm honored that shared your vulnerability with us. Thank you. To the GOAT with the divine mind and heart, Malcolm McCormick, rest in peace.
Man I love how powerful Mac is. He literally had you up happy and dancing the song before but 2009 just slaps us in the face after...so crazy great reaction RIP Mac
Beautiful reaction. I put my daughter on to Mac when she was young,.not knowing she kept listening. We saw this NPR video together and it brought us joy.
Been a fan od yours since 2019. When Mac left us, it legit felt like losing a brother. I already lost 2 of my older brothers to drugs, so these news about Mac killed me. The whole world was gray, 3 years later found his music again and actually leared to cope with the loss. Thank you for always being you, the videos you put out are always a good time.
Beautiful reaction brother Scru ❤ Mac leaving us all was a huge hit to me personally also. I loved his music and how his songs could take you on journeys. Not only that he was so kind and musically gifted. This NPR Tiny deal with him has me in tears every time I watch it, but it also still makes me smile. We lost a gem way to early. RIP Mac Miller 🫡
The fact he passed one month after this was posted is why every time I’m missing Mac I listen to this first and then play his other songs. RIP MAC MILLER 😇🕊️
I don’t know if you’ve heard or listened to any songs off circles but that shit had me crying my eyes out all the way through. Mac’s still my favorite artists, it feels like no matter what I’m going through, he had a song that spoke to me. I’ve had songs I didn’t care for at first, hit me hard out of nowhere because it felt like he was speaking to me directly
Mac over Em isn't even a debate. Mac Miller is arguably the greatest overall artist of all time. He wrote, produced, played all the instruments. There was nobody like him.
2009 is arguably Mac’s best song of all time. It seems to hit everyone in their own way, and the fact you hadn’t heard it before makes this reaction even better. Thanks for this. My favorite live performance of his is Ladders on the Late Show. Would love to see you react to that one too!
I loved this reaction from you!! I could see all the emotion in your face while you watch Mac. It's a mix of sadness, joy, and reminisce all at the same time. RIP Mac Miller ❤
Never connected to an artist on an emotional level the way I have with Mac, swimming and circles are two of my favorite albums of all time. Would love to see more mac videos from you 🙌🏼
Probably the best Mac reaction I've ever seen. Raw, pure emotion. Shit, I didn't know who Mac was until early 2021 when I went down that rabbit hole. I haven't listened to another artist since which is so strange because I love all kinds of music, but that's the thing with Mac, he is all kinds of music and his lyrics are absolutely timeless and hit different nearly every day.
I only found Mac Miller's music this year so I'm still exploring and I'm taking it slow. But he's instantly one of my favourite artists and discovering all the love people had for this beautiful human is emotional. Thanks for the reaction. Thanks for sharing your love for him x
His music reminds you of what it means to be human and the emotion roller coaster that is life, and you never really know what it going to happen, RIP Mac Miller and always keep those memories of 2009 and your people in your heart and mind.
2009 is an all time classic. KIDS was extremely special for my/our era, I still listen to best day ever frequently. “No matter where life takes me you’ll find me with a smile, pursuit to be happy got me laughing like a child, I never thought life could be this sweet it got me cheesin from cheek to cheek”
Just so you know more details about 2009. The producer of the track Eric G said "Mac just paced around the room for a little bit with the beat playing. Then he did the first whole half of the song in a pitch-black booth with no phone or anything. I don’t even know how he did it, and for it to be so meaningful. I saw him the next day and he played it for all his close friends and everyone said they cried." Mac had to be convinced to keep it on the album. If you look up mac miller 2009 discreet podcast you'll see it. You probably wouldn't see this but for anyone else who does just deeper meaning for the song.
Bro I dont know what you have been through in your life or what got you to that emotional state at the end of the video but thank you. Thank you for sharing that. Not alot of men can submit to their feelings, even in private and you did it for us ON CAMERA and decided you wouldnt edit it out. Thank you for being a real one and showing us another side of you
Before I even watch this I gotta say I’m so happy you’re finally reacting to this. I’ve watched Mac’s tiny desk concert at least 50 times and I never get tired of it.. I shed a tear every time…
Loved the reaction vid bro and I completely understand the emotions over Maczilla. Dude has had a huge impact on my life in ways I can never really explain to most people.
you will see in the comments that you are by far not the only one that got hit hard by this song bro...we all miss his soul and music man. not too many artists that could paint a song like him RIP MAC
Props to you Scru! This is by far one of Macs most memorable performances and you crying showed how much his music touched so many and will for many many more years
Scru man I get it. People go thru alot of pain. The type u cant understand unless u go through it to the point were it harder to cry. Wishing for people to understand but there is no one u can lean on. Wanting to be strong for the people u love so they have some one they can lean on
You should react to Tyler's Tiny Desk. His attitude and live performance is very enjoyable and entertaining. I recently started listening to Mac Miller and I think what makes his music so special, is that he is confident in his singing (just soul without high quality), his self-conscious lyrism and of course his optimistic attitude and soundscape.
I didn't get into mac until after he passed and I think it honestly hurts more than if I had been listening to him while he was still around. not only am I mourning him as an artist and person, but I also end up mourning the fact that I missed out on so much. especially since circles was the first album of his that I listened to in full and that record was a window to so much hope and artistry that we'll never get to experience with him
Glad you found him though, a lot of us grew with him and he became a part of our lives. I was in my junior year of high school when I heard "Nike's on my feet" and became the "snapback kid" at school because of his influence, he helped me though high school when I was changing the most and becoming mature, I kept all those hats but after he passed I slowly stopped wearing them.
I think everyone experienced a range of emotion on this Mac Miller NPR journey it’s part of being human… it means as an artist he was able to dig deep and make an impact. I think I smiled, laughed, sighed, and cried and I’ve come back to rewatch this at least a dozen times over the years. I have more respect for ya for leaving the raw reaction up than trying to act tough and edit how this performance made you feel. 🙏🏻
Very few artists can have you starting a video with a fun little topic on who the best is and have you leave in tears by the end of it. He just takes you to a different plane of existence where you forget about everything else. Just him and the music left.
He gets me too bro, every time I watch his tiny desk concert.. I have every expression and and movement and smile memorized and still I feel this performance like its the first time I ever saw it. This simply put is Authentic Mac Miller, what's NOT to love??? ❤
His trajectory was a masterpiece, Scru ain't lying he just got better and better🔥 sorely missed indeed. Swimming to this day after listening to it Man, it really did feel like we were gonna be in for a ride with Mac
I just did a Pittsburg tour. Blue Slide Park, Frick Park Market, the murals, Daily Bread... it was really dope and really sad. I agree with Scru. He's the white rapper that I think transcended that label because he became one of the purest artists and not someone who exploited the culture for the wrong reasons. He is def missed and should be. RIP🙏
More Mac content, loved this. I was crying right along with you man, jaw quivering like a little kid. Lots of memories tied to Mac for me as well, graduated 2011 and listening to Mac since the beginning.
Nothing to be ashamed of bro, thank you for doing this one. You're not human if this doesn't make you emotional.
Mac hits u like that 😢
Every couple of months I find myself searching “Mac Miller Reaction” because reaction typically means it’s someone’s first time hearing it and I’d give just about anything to relive hearing Mac for the first time. You just gave me the biggest rush of emotions. I can feel, that you feel, how I feel about Mac. It’s so deep man. Thank you so much. Genuinely earned a new fan.
Same. Teary-eyed, came to say this.
Being a fan since I was 14 listening to him in 08-09 and seeing his career progress, and evolve was a site to behold.
Dudes music is timeless and that's rare for most artist.
The way I sobbed reading this
Same bro, same. Every few months looking up Mac reactions. I think this one is up there for me.
ON GOD
Scru you’re def not the only one crying for this last song.. that man was in pain fr. His ability to express himself was damn near unmatched but it just wasn’t enough. RIP to Mac, he’s getting the rest he so desperately needed.
this mf thundercat smiled through the whole damn thing you can tell they were tight
Yeah he literally posted right after he found out he died something like”check on your friends , I love you I’m sorry” don’t quote me on that but it was something along those lines
this honestly might end up your most liked video. i’ve never come across anyone who didn’t love Mac and no one who’s ever hated this NPR performance
Mac Millers music is truly amazing relatable and sad and nostalgic :/ RIP Mac

Don't feel weird about crying on camera. Mac's songs hits me a lot too and even though this is like the 1,000th time I'm listening to these songs I just cried during the entire 2009 performance with you lol. It's beautiful to see real reactions and to know how much impact Mac's art has on you -- and on us. RIP Mac ❤︎
I Cry about mac almost everyday

100% truth.
Same bro. I was about to shower when I got the news. It was a sad shower lol
💯
Mac and Kobe the only ones that ever made me really hurt 😔 miss them both so much, RIP to both 🕊️
"Life is short, don't question the length. It's cool to cry, don't question your strength." - Mac Miller: REMember

Truth brother
Probably one of my favorite reactions from you Scru!!! Love Mac!! We need more ❤
I appreciate you
Scru the Goat.
Tears every time I see this mac performance.
Such a lover of REAL music.
Rest his soul.
You said at the end… “this was specifically written for me” (2009)… that’s the amazing thing thing about Mac… there are millions of people that feel that same emotion. Bro felt this with his entire soul. Like a lot of us did. We're here with you my man
You ain’t alone Scru, I get emotional every time I watch this tiny desk
Damn. This is a real reaction video, none of that over-emoting, click bait, BS. Just a dude who knows and feeling a lot, or more, of what fans feel when they hear this. Thanks, man.
That's Thundercat, possibly the greatest living bass player at the moment, playing the shakers😭😂
Rite?! How is it that they don't know the one and only THUNDERCAT?! Seriously?!
And this is why, Mac Miller is the goat. And Scru Face Jean is too.
I’m crying and I’m sad and then I’m laughing my ass off because of your comments mid clip. Thank you for this, Scru. Love
Man.. I was crying on that 2009 joint, mostly do anytime I hear it.. xD Loved your reaction and tears we shared ONE LOVE! 🙏
Thanks!
As soon as them strings start playin on 2009 tears start rollin. Every time. Still hurts that he’s gone and I don’t think it ever won’t stop hurting. Dude was a true artist.
bro scru, you're real for posting this reaction, love mac, appreciate you scru
Him and Anderson Paak have the best NPR tiny desk concerts ever
Tech N9ne and Krizz Kaliko have a great tiny desk concert as well.
fr and I would add tyler's to that list too
tank and the bangas have an incredible tiny desk concert.
Paaks was my favourite then one day while we were high AF on shrooms my homie played this one and I floated out my body.
It's my favourite now
Fred again also
bother i am in tears with you. dont be afraid to be vulnerable. mac created the best parts of us.
Real reactions are always the best scru! There’s certain songs that just hit you different with what we go through in life!
I’m crying with you. 2009 always hits me crazy.

That was the most honest and beautiful reaction I've ever seen.
I had never even heard of Mac till I saw this Tiny Desk concert on TH-cam about 3 years ago... and it tore me in half emotionally.
Love the transparency of your reaction to this!
Great reaction Scru 🙌. Tiny Desk awesome too cause you get multiple vibes 💯
The first time I watched this version of “2009” I cried like a baby.
Took a long break from mac once he passed. Songs like 2009 bring tears to my eyes every time. Thanks for brining me back to it scru
You’re not alone fam his gift was bringing out those emotions in all of us. Great reaction homie👍🏻
This is why i really respect and like Scru, he is just Real AF and he speak from his heart and soul in this, if you was there with Mac music u just know and it's hit different, it pissed me off that we lost so many great talent, especially in hip-hop, just imagine if all this people was here to this days... damn.. Mac Miller was such an iconic rapper and musician and I find him so underrated! Would love to see more reactions to his music from you
I’ve heard 2009 over 100 times at least and I still get goosebumps every time I listen to it. Real men get emotional don’t stress it
Some of his songs make me tear up❤
Been waiting for this reaction for a long time Scru. Might be one of the best live performances ever.
"A life ain't a life 'til you live it."

Man, for me it started with a huge grin and my head bobbing to the beat, and ended with me crying along with you. I'm honored that shared your vulnerability with us. Thank you. To the GOAT with the divine mind and heart, Malcolm McCormick, rest in peace.
2009 is just all goosebumps, every time I listen to it. Fucking hits so hard
Your level of authenticity and vulnerability displayed in this video is the reason I watch reaction videos. Thanks for being fearless and real.
Don't feel bad for crying bro. So many fake reactions. It's good to see someone really feel the music
Bro this was the best reaction I've ever seen the raw emotion made this a special one
This is why you're really the only reaction channel i watch anymore. when i first heard this when it came out, i reacted the same!
Mac over Em isn't even a debate. Mac Miller is arguably the greatest overall artist of all time. He wrote, produced, played all the instruments. There was nobody like him.
Little late to this reaction but so glad I found it. Mac is my favorite artist of all time, he just makes you feel the music
I cried when I heard 2009 for the first time too. Still do every once in a while when I listen to it. Respect. RIP Mac Miller🙏
This is by far one of Macs most memorable performances and you crying showed how much his music touched so many and will for many many more years
I feel you Scru!! Listening to 2009 always a tough listen to me.
Loving the Mac reactions, you should react to some tracks from Faces like Diablo!
RIP to a real legend Mac Miller the killer on the beat that’s most chill. Thank you for the video bro
Even as musicians, it's easy to forget what music can be. Then something like this comes in and knocks your head off.
I teared up w you bro
❤😂🎉
He gets me too bro, every time I watch his tiny desk concert.. I have every expression and and movement and smile memorized and still I feel this performance like its the first time I ever saw it.
This simply put is Authentic Mac Miller, what's NOT to love??? ❤
His trajectory was a masterpiece, Scru ain't lying he just got better and better🔥 sorely missed indeed. Swimming to this day after listening to it Man, it really did feel like we were gonna be in for a ride with Mac
Respect for not editing out anything. I think that’s why there’s not too many reactions posted on this performance
RIP🙏
I wish you could feel free not hiding them. Your tears are beautiful man. Thanks for your video ! Big hug
Man, I knew you had taste already, but you knowing Mac is the GOAT white rapper 👏
RIP Mac Miller forever ❤
Damn, got me crying too. Much love for posting this video
Love this performance, and tiny desk concerts in general. Anderson Paak is a classic, also Run the Jewels and Tyler the Creator.
The Anderson Paak performance is epic.
More Mac content, loved this. I was crying right along with you man, jaw quivering like a little kid. Lots of memories tied to Mac for me as well, graduated 2011 and listening to Mac since the beginning.
