Props to that HKS turbo for surviving like it did, never seen a compressor wheel so smashed and not full of oil and despair. Deffo deserves to live on a plinth now!
Turbine wheel exducer looks bigger on the T04S than the EFR to be fair. But it's undivided! A proper twin scroll setup should spool way faster and make more power. Amazed the car made any decent power with a comp wheel that fucked! Should be miiiles better.

Definitely curious on how that will change the boost characteristics. If you drive it on the street more than a track, personally I'd rather have a smaller turbo for quicker boost (600+ HP just seems crazy). Also - what is the history on the engine? I've researched rebuild projects of these engines and they appear quite laborious. But, seeing that compressor wheel is scary! I, too am curious on what it sucked up, and where it ended.

I would have thought it would be more interesting to put on the most modern/advanced same dimensions turbo and see how much before is gained all around.
Yeah that's like a sort of RnD experiment that the manufacturer could do/sponsor but pointless for an owner at the end if they want more flow generally.
I'm guessing that the turbo problem occurred, obstruction was removed along with the bits of broken turbo. They then fitted the same turbo back on the car as it was going to be sold.
