    I work for Radshape Sheet Metal in Aston, we are mainly an automotive supplier, one of our strengths is our metal polishing shop amongst others. We are closed now due to Corona but if you ever need any polishing done (we could work wonders with that exhaust) or fancy having a look around just give u a bell and ask for me, cheers.

    Turbine wheel exducer looks bigger on the T04S than the EFR to be fair. But it's undivided! A proper twin scroll setup should spool way faster and make more power.
    Amazed the car made any decent power with a comp wheel that fucked! Should be miiiles better.

    Definitely curious on how that will change the boost characteristics. If you drive it on the street more than a track, personally I'd rather have a smaller turbo for quicker boost (600+ HP just seems crazy). Also - what is the history on the engine? I've researched rebuild projects of these engines and they appear quite laborious. But, seeing that compressor wheel is scary! I, too am curious on what it sucked up, and where it ended.

    How can this happen to a turbo? Maybe cavitation? Awesome content as always

      ever wonder where your 10mm socket went?

      Almost certainly something got in there.

    If you start up the 964 and have notice no boost.... check Jay hasn’t taken your turbo for his LS mustang build 😇

    Surely you'll need changes to the exhaust manifold collector to take into account the firing order for twin scroll to work properly?

    • @driftworks
      @driftworks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It'll be okay. The difference with twin scroll/single is negligible anyway.

    • @petergordon4525
      @petergordon4525 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@driftworks more noticeable difference on a 4 cylinder than a 6, but for the extra work, potentially 50lbs/ft more @ 500 rpm less on that set up I'd guess.

    • @driftworks
      @driftworks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no way it'd make 50 ft/lbs more thorough being twin scroll. I'd be amazed if it made 10.

      @@driftworks Mark Shead at MA Developments has been having fantastic results from this range of turbos on Cosworth YB and EVO engines, so only 2 litre and 4 cylinder I know, but, with the 7064 internally gated with his twin scroll manifold and just an improved inlet plenum, the otherwise stock YB ( no cams, no headwork ) is making 460 - 470 hp with fantastic drivability.
      He's done lots of back to back testing and again on the YB comparing a Garrett GTX3071 with the BW7064 ( I don't know the complete engine spec tested ) the BW made 335 lbs/ft more than the GTX at 3800 rpms!
      He says the gains are 50% turbo and 50% manifold.
      He claims they can run lower boost, so less heat and an easier time for the intercooler.

    Phil that material that you have cutting away to make room for the turbo, can it not be replaced with something that's less likely to melt and provide better heat shielding.

    • @driftworks
      @driftworks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's metal it's not going to melt 👍

    What about heat shielding? 18:30ish. I am not a turbo owner of any sort, but I know they put out heat. Was curious if you'll add to the block side of turbo between block and unit.

    Is your engine still running the k-jetronic or motronic injection system ? A few 17 years ago we do a twin T28 turbo conversion on a flatnose Porsche, I feel your pain with the complications involved, we ended up drilling out the k fuel injectors and put a stand alone Ecu and common rail injection system on in the end and oil return to the sump was a mission to work out
