Didn't think the episode was a complete mess overall, but the pacing still feels off to me and dear god that witches' chant felt like some CW shit. Felt embarrassed just watching it. Hopeful they can right the ship on storytelling once the mystery is unfurled a little bit more.

This has to be a joke. I’ve listened to so many episodes and you guys are usually fair but also call out shit that is bad. This episode is terrible. I actually love and defend 80-90% of Disney Star Wars and I thought this episode was atrocious from the writing to the CG to the acting to the story making no sense to the costumes and makeup. Also casting fraternal twins when the adult version is identical bc it’s the same actor playing both rolls makes no sense. I still love you guys but I was so ready for Charles to yell “WHAT ARE WE DOING!?" off the top. granted I'm only 12 minutes into the pod but after Van and Jomi said they actually liked it I was like stop the cap.

Everybody seems to be stuck on the Jedi being the ones who govern the kids who can practice the force as if the sith don’t exist. They do what they do so the sith doesn’t get their hands on the kids and raise up an army of Sith Lords. Mind you this takes place before they know about the rule of 2. This is the era where the sith were a huge military force at one point. They don’t want that to happen again.
While I agree that people get too stuck on the Jedi training kids, remember that the sith DON'T exist (as far as the Jedi know). The sith has been extinct to the point of only existing in legend. You could say that, by controlling what kids get to practice the force ,they are preventing dark side users in general. They wouldn't think they were preventing sith specifically.

I think when the two sisters were having a fight upstairs, the Jedi and the witches had a fight downstairs and they will probably have another flashback or something like that from the other point of view. That’s the only other thing that makes any sense because the fire didn’t kill the witches and that’s why the Jedi killed himself because of the fight I know I sound like I’m talking out of my ass lol but that’s the only way it would make sense

I love the vibes of this pod and the show, but it's really annoying that lots of people trash Acolyte. Hope everyone listen to Van in Acolyte Ep1&2 reaction. The Force is for everyone, and sadly a lot of SW fans are being racist. But I do love that we have the same views Midnight Boys! Love that a show like this represented Asians.

ep. 3 didn't work for me. Just too much of a chasm between what we were shown and what happened offscreen. We weren't told a good complete story (her setting a door on fire and then everyone else dead / things exploding). There's little opportunity for 'you saw this, but wait, here's what really happened with our antagonist' adding additional context. Instead we'll get that to make that event whole.
I really enjoyed the coven worldbuilding. First half of the episode I really liked. How the big event of the episode was handled, just not so much.
We weren’t told a good complete story because the story isn’t over yet. Are you new to watching week-to-week television?

The whole show feels just off. Not awful. Teetering with awful and potential excellence. I keep waiting for show to take a real direction. Overall story has meat on the bone, but I think the writing is the biggest issue.
