Alicante is the person who put this entire war in motion by misinterpreting the words of a dying, delusional man. Her poor judgemen impacts her decision-making ability as well as her assessment of other people's character, e.g. Ser Kristen Kole.
The mysterious woman was Melisandre
I see a lot of dislike for this ep….but I think it was a filler just get the 2nd half of season ready 🔥🐉🔥🐉🔥🐉🔥
I loved last weeks episode but I thought this was exceptionally boring. I loved Shogun and that was nothing but people talking in rooms, these characters are not compelling enough to carry a slow Episode like this and I thought the Rhaenyra/Alicent scene was silly. I'm very close to giving up on this show, I just don't care. I actually enjoy listening to you guys talk about it more than I enjoy watching it
The first two episode was good, but this one was a dull episode. The writers are trying to hard to keep the focus on Rheanyra & Allicent when at this point the focus should be more on the kids rallying their troops. I better see Jace take more of a leadership role for the rest of the season like he does in the books at this point, because he is one of the most interesting member of team black. And now I'm worry they might downplayed his role in the war. 💯😤
Be red currant they meant wine, no?
orange on orange is crazy never seen that before.
Wait wait but what about the eggs, were those Dany's eggs?
That was me in Spokane before Y2K
Amazing set
The showrunners are slowplaying this show to the point of tedium. Half of season 2 is basically over. Get on with it.
Get on with what?
This isn’t the series for you, bud. Go watch an action movie.
@@yaredmussie4086 Fire and Blood.
@@Redjack10 I cant believe I watched 8 seasons of GoT and 1.5 seasons HoTD before you came along with such a brilliant suggestion. What a waste of time that could've been spent catching up on the Fast and the Furious films.
These episodes is fantastic
Loved this episode
I applaud the shows creators for each episode surpassing my prior hatred for alicent and crispen.
they make Cersei appear rational and level headed.
CR was good this episode just wanted to comment since I was critical before
I know what makes HOD and GOT so amazing is the storytelling and not as much of the action but thru 3 episodes this season has been has been an absolute snooze fest with them relying on startling endings to keep us on our toes which does work but not enough
I love how people just completely forgot what Game of Thrones was. Welcome back to political drama.
The twin battle actually moved me idk, him telling his brother “you separated us!” Ugh and then the guilt eating him after oof
THIS IS THE STUFF LYONEL
Abed!
This was another amazing episode. Glad Emma and Olivia got to have a scene together
What a rollercoaster of an ep🎉 started dank, got sick, suddenly radical then ended lit with a hint of bodacius🎉
To war then? Aemond might need to see the smith to get a bigger sword...
Remember also.... The blacksmith in this season.... It was a blacksmith that smuggled Gendry out of King's landing in game of thrones.
loved this episode
the alicent/rhaenyra meeting was absolutely nonsensical. what are the writers thinking
also i’m sorry jo but i love criston’s haircut
I think this is a reasonable take, that I thought of as well but it was riveting
No it wasn’t
@@jacobwatson8688 it was
Why was it? 🤔
Rhaena’s dragon egg is supposed to be pink and she never got to say bye to her grandmother 🙃
Drake was seen as the top (below the elder statesmen like Jay, Ye, and Weezy) but kendrick got himself up in that tier of rapper with the GKMC release in 2012. J Cole wasn’t on their tier really til 2014 because Born Sinner came out in ‘13 and had some hits but was widely seen as a disappointment. Cole was fighting on the Wale tier until FHD
BRILLIANT episode tonight!!! Rhaenyra is a true queen. She did everything in her power to prevent bloodshed and war. Now its WAR 🔥🔥🔥🔥 #HouseOfTheDragon
I think the training of children/teens by the Jedi and taking them on missions shouldn't be equivocated to our reality. I think we have to accept a certain amount of mythic storytelling considering the reality of The Force in the SW universe. "You brought her here," Is a great Sith antagonizing the Jedi line. Qimir knows that the do-gooder Jedi will feel worse about bringing Jecki (to the place she is killed) than Qimir would feel about killing a thousand Jecki's. Not to mention Qimir would train and sacrifice any number of young force users to his own selfish ends. Ultimately, it's a poor what-about-ism, but it is effective against the Jedi who are caring and want to do right.
I wish Chris was with Mallory and Joanna when they do a deep dive into the episode with book spoilers. They would have to explain who and what they're talking about because he hasn't read the books. When he's not there they have a lot of fun but it's hard to follow their banter
They would also have to shorten the deep dive by two hours.
Couldn’t agree more. Love most of Mal, but Chris keeps her on the rails. Reducing 35% of the giggling would be a godsend
In GoT the best scenes involved the Lannisters. They were the best, get a bunch of them in a room and rip each other to pieces. And in this show the Greens are just interesting they way they interact reminds me of the Lannisters.
Rhaenrya may not killed Alicent and her kids but she also couldn't save Alicent's grandson from Daemon. He is yet another dragon Rhaenrya can't control.
Just like alicent couldn’t save Rheanyra son from Aemond
Ultimately Viserys's wishes are irrelevant. Even back in episode 2, Rhaenys said the men of the realm would never accept Rhaenrya. Otto and the council would have put Aegon on the throne regardless. It's interesting that Alicent realizes she might be wrong, but in the end it doesn't matter.
That’s some hard copium you’re smoking
Rhanerya has half the realm as it is. If Allicent didn't fuck her over, she'd easily have the realm.
Absolutely no way this was someone’s favorite episode. And to claim the writing is cracking is crazy. Just jumping around to a lot of places that didn’t matter and for some reason Allicant has any power at all is baffling she had 2 fing kings Gaurds as the mother and dowager
"Favorite" is subjective. He didn't say "best". After the attack on Jahaerys, it makes sense for additional security. Plus who else would they guard? Jahaerys is dead. Aegon has 3 kingsguard. Cole is occupied. Two with Alicent isn't unreasonable.
@@havok6280 idk maybe be the actual queen and her kid that’s still alive and not the queen mother who holds no actual office of power
@messytenzo6838 Helaena has less power than Alicent. Alicent at least sits on the small council. Jahaera is a girl. If she has a claim to the throne, Aegon's claim is weakened. He claims the throne because Rhaenrya is a woman. If his daughter is his heir he looks like a hypocrite. Again recall that Cole is Lord Commander. Who do you think he would want protected in his absence? That said, why aren't you mad Rhaenrya didn't send one of her Queensguard with her sons to the Vale???
@@havok6280 her not sending one is also bad wringing, and Cole wouldn’t get to just appoint two to the former queen without bringing up questions. Also it’s not about being heir it’s about Helaena absolutely should have more power as queen and mother to former heir and the only reason she doesn’t is so the show can keep a actor ppl like on and just never explain why she still has any power
@@messytenzo6838how is it bad writing when Rhaenrya old has two Queensguard left? It's simple logistics. Helaena has no power because no one takes her seriously. She's not Alicent. She's not Cersei. How exactly would she exercise power? Like I said, she isn't on the council. Also, the Kingsguard protect the king and his heirs. That's why Rhaegar had 3 at the Tower of Joy. It wasn't to protect Lyanna, it was to protect Jon. Women just don't matter.
They should do this show live
Yo yo yo
Fans hate the Acolyte bc it’s a trash show, NOT bc they’re racists. If fans are racist, why didn’t they review Black Panther? Why aren’t they review bombing House of the Dragon? When HotD has 2 female leads, one of them is NON-binary, it has black characters and gay characters.. why aren’t fans review bombing that? 🤔 make it make sense
Charles. You have a microphone, why are you yelling? @47:00 see when he stops yelling and cutting people off he makes some sense. These women want to dominate their men. Rhaenyra is that girl who sings "I want a gangsta" then gets mad when he acts gangsta. Daemon never hid who he was, he's done bad things and taken responsibility for bad things he didn't do, and she as an adult begged him to marry her and help her. As for Alicent and Cole, all 3 of their sex scenes has her in the dominant position. Someone mentioned that their last scene in E2 was a feminist wet dream.
Don't worry, nothing will fall bazil. He Can Smell Trouble long before anyone else can! He's a rare species of tracker known as a "fart sniffer". 😄 See Han Solo's analysis below. Apparently they're still around a thousand years after the acolyte, during Hans era... th-cam.com/video/QgeRPv5urGI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yVwJhN-wBx_I6bpY
The way I’m dying laughing at Chris answering the dragon quiz 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Well done CR! And thank you for making this available for all of us outside the USA to watch! Sending lots of love from South Africa to Chris, Jo and Mal!❤😊 Been watching since GoT days and just adore you guys!
The three of you are degenerates, and I am living! It's great to see people have fun with a property that can be so serious about lore and history. As for me? Tyrion and Shae would probably be very generous lovers to a third, and smart men are sexy. 😁 I'd have Tyrion recite pose while Shae demonstrates her professional talents 😂
Keep Hip Hop history alive 👏🏿 good work
The Acolyte>>>Andor
ok ive been thinking about this since the podcast. All valid points I agree with. But also... since Im not an actor, if that became my only imdb page... its like when that dude sunk that half-court shot to win the million dollars and turns out that was the only time he'd ever shot a basketball in his life... ya talking it out helped me decide. Thanks everyone for helping me through this
This guy doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about 🤦🏾♂️ put more respect on k dot’s name
I am a bit dissapointed that this show refuses to ever show Rhaenyra as having a bad bone in her body, That's definately not how i saw her character in the book. Wonder how RR Martin would've written show Rhaenyra.
I was thinking the same thing as who will be the next big thing after these guys are gone...... Even the females it's getting worse
I don’t think traditional rapping went away. I just think the more of the girls are rapping traditionally. I know people only want to attribute that to Nicki Minaj, but I’m sure they were also influenced by the rappers mentioned on the Control verse.
Why are you trying to attribute logic to a franchise that can't even maintain continuity?
Yes. I’m on board with this as Qimir mentioned he had no name. Very possible that he was a divisive force in the High Republic as a failed padowan of Sol’s. Much like the Obi-Wan and Anakin predicament. Likely that was banished and sought some insane vengeance and had an older presence over the twins. Also possible that Mother Koril could be another big reveal as a major catalyst.
what’s with the background music?
