Half of the conversations between characters feel like a robot explaining the storyline.
The rhythm does feel so weird. Maybe it's on purpose. But that also doesn't make sense. 🤔
Feels like we cannot trust what we see
I watched it w/ a newbie to the extended franchise and they felt the dialogue worked for them, but honestly it’s a bit (Ma)clunky imo.
Can we talk about how good Maude’s hair looks in this
Maude always look good frfr
We should! So good
her hair really looks good
I think Jason Mendoza of Jacksonville, Florida, is the master. That's how he got there so quickly, and he knew Mae was diverging so that's why he killed the wookie before she could speak to him.
I need to see Pillboi helping him put his helmet on!
Who TF is Jason Mendoza?
@@gabrieleharmon4648 Pillboi has a nice gig over at the TVA. Maybe Donkey Doug is available?
@@aliengranpa you need to stop doing literally anything else and make watching The Good Place your top priority in life.
@@wolfpackjew on it!😁
Maude's needed scene is when Mae pretended to refer to Osha as "Jedi scum" to both get information from Qimir as well as get a sense of how trustful he may be. During that entire scene, he seemed shifty AF and then seemingly takes her on a far-too-long trek through the woods (probably to give the Master time to do their setup).
I love watching the breakdowns and the takes, but we all have to remember we are judging and commenting on the "story" mid story. Good, bad or middle of the road judgements should be kept for at the end of the final episode, or at least given an asterisk *. We all can also agree hindsight is always 20/20 unless you are a Jedi!
In a mystery I would agree but the story does owe its audience engagement as it progresses.
If actions don’t make sense to obscure the mystery then it is the writers fault
All of a sudden I hear "From a certain point of view"
🤔We really can't trust the narrative. Something has felt off from the start
The Sith Acolyte is Torbin. When the Jedi interrupted Osha’s part of the Ascension ceremony Mother Aniseya put the magic into Torbin when she possessed him. Torbin knew Mae was alive because they share a bond. Torbin faked his death. Remember the “poison” was mixed by Qimir.
When Indara asked Mae who trained her. She knew she’s was using her/her Padawan’s fighting style.
didn't even thank of that! Good call.
Now that is a great theory. Who better to roam around unknown as a Sith than a Jedi who was left to his meditations for 10 years.
My thinking is that it is Mother Koril and that she possessed Torbin much like Aniseya did, meant to discredit the Jedi by having one seen attacking the Coven, preventing the separation of the twins in the process, etc. but things got more out of hand than intended, now she's radicalizing her one remaining daughter against the 4 that she blames for it all.
However, I'm liking this Torbin theory even more (seduced by the powers he was taught as heretical); and it kinda fits in with mine a bit. An Acolyte follows or assists a clergy leader, and that could still mean he's in service to someone else while being Mae's handler.
Mother Koril influenced Torbin back then to kill the Coven, recruited him to her side some time later, uses him as an inbetweener for Mae's grooming, used Qimir to fake Torbin's death, sent him to eliminate Kelnacca because he's getting too close to the truth, investigating possible survivors of the Coven event and the power the Witches wield, and is now using him to retrieve the last piece of her family: Osha.
That would be an interesting development. A lot of the narrative we experience, feels like there are scenes missing on purpose. As if we're supposed to fill in those pieces.
So you are onto something. This is definitely possible
And he was floating during his meditation so that could be how he was able to look like he was floating down when he landed next to Osha.
@@JoseRamirez-qh9qf true, true, a visual clue. A master who has literally mastered abilities and capabilities surpassing everyone else. Or also possessed by someone else, thus strengthening what they are capable of compared to everyone else.
I'm curious maybe at that moment from episode 3, Torbin was possessed day one. Went into meditation, but lost the battle, and the Witches control took full hold
😂 I’m just confused do yall not have siblings ? Mfs fight and argue all the time that doesn’t mean they don’t love each other and the whole I’ll kill you scene is cleary not what happen really
And why are we forgetting that Mae was the one who loved and always wanted to be around her sister osha is the one who was pushing her away
That's called bad story telling
Right?!? There’s always one sibling that is more passionate about the other(s).
I think the show wanted to keep mae's true feelings unclear to add to the mystery. But in doing so made her character arc weaker. Like most of what we know about her is through an unreliable source. And Anakin is proof that love can be twisted into murderous hate. So it is difficult to determine how Mae has changed or if she has at all.
Finally someone has answered the question properly. I have read the books and the comics. In novelization palpetine sent Vader with no light saber to kill a Jedi and take their saber and corrupt the kieber crystal and turn it from whatever color it is to red. Also in the bane novels when bane is studying holocrons he comes across knowledge stating to true defeat the Jedi you have to use the force. Weapons don't work because Jedi use war and army to fight you have to be more powerful and concentrate the dark force which is why the rule of 2 was made. 1 to embody the power and 1 to crave it. The power of 1 the power of 2 the power of many is supposed to be a twist on that principle but they fucked up the whole translation in the writing. So basically an acolyte is a Padawan of the dark side meaning they have no light saber and are not sith until they can take a light saber and kill using the force. She can take a light saber and use against a Jedi but that still defeats the purpose. She should take it from the Jedi and then use the force to kill the Jedi force push them off a cliff or force choke or any means but it should be bare handed so they can bare the full responsibility of the kill no excuses can be made if it is done with no weapon. To defeat the dream is to do what palpetine did. He did not use a weapon to kill the Jedi he manipulated others to do it for him proving the value in dark side of the force with cunning. So what he means is if you can kill a Jedi with no weapon than a Jedi is no threat to you. Why because a light saber is the weapon of choice for the jedi.the weapon of choice for the sith is the force. Look at the lore it clearly suggests this. The sith have many offensive force techniques while the Jedi have few. The sith use the force much more. Which is why it physically drains their body's over time more. No Jedi can over come a sith without a saber in hand in a force battle the sith should have the advantage. Not set in stone but that's the idea behind the using no light saber. If you can kill a Jedi without one than once you have one no Jedi should ever be a threat. It is a training method to ensure the acolyte is worthy of being a true sith. Only one person can have this spot at a time so it is a solid method to weed out weeks candidates.
Weak candidates*
That theory only makes sense if the master is sith. And if he is sith that's a plot hole in the story.
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord all of the current stars wars media has plot holes...instead of making new original stories ppl keep squeezing them in between timelines without having a full understanding of what's taken place in the comics and books so they all way mess the story up. For example the was no reason to built 2 death stars at all. Their are other weapons named in text the would have been equally as devastating and new to keep the lore going but the story writers aren't real Star wars fans at all
@@WitnessEffortless yea the current star wars media has plot hole because they are crap. Thats why the fans are in up roar say Disney star wars is bas is not good defense my guy.
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord I feel like they are going to make up something and make another plot hole. I bet they won't use a dark Jedi or someone from the canon timeline
13:48 Guys, she figures out who her master is in that moment that’s why she has a sudden change of heart. And she realizes the Jedi and Osha are the best way for her to survive.
That's pretty lame
that’s reasonable but like why didn’t they give us something that would show her revelation lol
That was the moment she self diagnosed herself as Bi polor
Unfortunately this show just isn’t good
In the previous episode, it seemed clear to me that Mae was always very attached to Osha and a lot of her anger towards her was because Osha kept pushing her away and kept things from her. It makes sense that Osha being alive would change things for her.
Exactly. The first thing she did after the fall was go to the tree.
Also Qimir didn’t even flinch when he realized it was Osha in the shop. He knew she was alive and that might draw Mae back.
I thought it was pretty clear too. Maude struggling to understand that Mae wanted everyone dead because she thought her sister was dead to now knowing her sister is alive, having a change in her thought process, is strange.
I am enjoying the show but I absolutely agree with that the confusion Mae’s weird flip about joining Oshie suddenly.
I believe the obvious twist Qimir = Darth "Teeth" hides the BIG Twist
Master Sol = Darth Plagueis, the Wise.
Have you seen plaguis' head bro? Not a chance
Sol is Tenebrous. It's an ironic name. Like a barber named Harry.
THIS IS TERRIBLE IF TRUE either way 😂
15:24
Could the confirmation that the sisters know each that is alive and that they are both now on Khofar at the same time somehow have a positive force effect on Mae? Then once they put some distance between one another pull Mae back to the dark?
Almost like the force is pulling the thread between the two sisters together and the closer they get the more they think about one another….
could be! it’s been hinted that they’re a dyad in the force, which makes them strongly connected by the force
I think while it could be all attributed to a positive force effect, it is still ultimately unnecessary. Mae was radicalized carefully after believing her family and entire Coven was eradicated back on Brendok 16 years earlier. Before all of that, all she ever wanted was to do everything as a dyad with Osha, as she was taught to become. Learning Osha was alive is on its own enough to doubt her current path and hope she could reconnect with her sister. We've seen that she's not fully baked into darkness yet.
Didn’t Mae achieve her goal? She had the wookie killed without her having to use her weapon? She could say she masterminded the achievement of her goal.
Hmm those symbols on Kelnacca's walls.. were they drawn by him or someone else?
Feels like something is missing on purpose. If The Master was already there. Took the Jedi Wookie down.
But also hid their powers very well.
But Mae's senses kicked into overdrive, as if she felt something. Then the Jedi appear, with the baddie (The Master?) right behind them.
Sol kept sensing the dark force user and that is why he kept looking terrified this whole episode.
This episode is the first time we've seen Mae since she realized her sister was still alive, and she looked like she was unsure of continuing with the mission the entire episode. She also looked like she's starting to question Qimir's motives. Brandon said that Osha being alive changed things for her, then Tom said "it would have been nice if the show made that clear." she literally said the words "Osha being alive changes everything". How much more do you need that spoonfed for you? She thought her sister was dead for the last 16 years. She never hated her sister, she was just hurt the last time she saw her. It makes perfect sense that realizing she's alive would change things for her. Everything that Maude and Tom are saying they wanted was in the show, theyre just saying they wanted it to be said outloud, when filmmaking 101 is show, dont tell. They showed you everything you wanted, you just wanted them to say it.
But But but she's under the impression the jedi killed her coven right? Her sister being alive doesn't change her motive her mother's were killed and everyone else's she knew correct?
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylordif you're saying you don't think she should or would change at all, then that's fair. Maude said her complaint was that she changed in 5 minutes. I'm saying she didn't change in 5 minutes, she started rethinking this path the moment she saw Osha, this is just the first time we saw her since that moment. And Tom said if seeing Osha changed things for her they should have said that, when Mae literally said those exact words out loud. Maude and Tom's complaint isn't the same as your complaint. You think Mae shouldn't change just because Osha is alive, if that's how you feel, that's fair, I don't agree with you, I think knowing her sister is alive would make her rethink this path she's on, but it's fair if you think otherwise. Maude and Tom are saying "why didn't the show spell everything out for me more clearly?" They want everyone to say why they're doing everything they're doing out loud so that it's more clear for them, and that isn't what makes a good show .
@@empyrealone my point is the same point Mae was shown to have huge hatred to jedi not only that but she has a valid reason to hate the jedi. And the jedi are the reason she thought Osha was dead in the first place. It's does not make sense for her to willingly turn herself in and cooperates and help the jedi thats is nonsensical thing to do out of nowhere.
I could see her saying "Ok im done killing I just want to run away with my sister". But to turn herself in to the jedi? Thats dumb she hasn't even talked to her sister for all she know Osha wants nothing to do with her.
@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord Darth Vader was threatening to kill Luke and turn his sister over to the dark side literally 5 minutes before he had a change of heart and killed his master after years of being the most evil dude in the galaxy. This is more believable than that.
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord she never said that. She just said the mom was dead and thought her sister was. Though it’s never revealed how she thought this if she fell first.
Is this not meant to be influenced by rashomon? We’re going to get Mae’s pov as well.
The tracker guy Bazal looks kind of like a koala or a wombat. Definitely Australian inspired.
His species name is Tynnan. Introduced in the 70s Han Solo trilogy.
@@medleystudios72I've been around since the original movie, why don't I remember these guys?
@aliengranpa did you read Han Solo at Star's End, Han Solo's Revenge, and Han Solo and the Lost Legacy? One of the books, (I don't remember which of the 3) has the character Odumin. He is a Tynnan. The closed captioning revealed that Bazil was speaking Tynnan and he looks like how Odumin is described. So if you never read those books or things like Essential Guide to Characters or wookieepedia articles about them, you wouldn't know about them, let alone remember them.
Just because Sol promised Osha he'd tell the whole truth once they've returned to the ship, I'm more than sure he'll die next episode and leave her hanging
Lol. I had the same thought. It reeks of "I can't tell you on the phone. Meet me by Murder Cliff and I'll tell you everything!"
Or there's another twist 🤔
@32:45 I like and respect how Brandon responds. He's always adding a perspective letting people know that people are different, even psychologically different. Especially children. It's never a close-minded response which I enjoy. It's hard to follow a standard literary structure or story, When people don't admit that people are very inconsistent especially as they grow up.
Wookie not fighting for his life is the real crime in this episode 😮
Pretty sure the master is setting Mae up to be killed by a Jedi whilst she is unarmed proving the Jedi to be as much a sith as any other.
Having said that... This show is really grinding along atm. Hoping for something interesting to happen soon
Maude was made to wait for her name plate. Unacceptable. Maude shall be made to wait for nothing. Off with their heads! Side note... She is positively effervescent in the face of a lackluster show. Stunning beauty, sidesplittingly funny, and whip smart. A level of professionalism most can't maintain in the face of a subpar product such as Aco. She is an example to be analyzed and aspired to.
Next week will have an epic opening. I was hoping the 2 best words put together "Wookiee Jedi" would last longer.
I honestly wanted to see the Wookie Jedi fight. Gone way too soon
Next week will definitely have an awesome start.
Grr why did they end the episode there? Why?!
@@kadosho02 Yeah, they had us on the edge of our seats and rolled the credits! 😂 I guess they want us salivating for next week.
32:02 “Mae’s not completely evil.” Literally murdered two people.
The last shot and line of episode 3 tells us that the version of Mae that was steely-eyed and trying to kill Osha either wasn't real, or was being controlled. She's always loved her sister, and that's why she runs to the tree to find her. That's why she's so sad and angry when she thought she was dead. That's why she's so happy when she sees Osha alive. We never actually are told that Mae wants to kill Jedi, or be the master's acolyte.
On top of that, the Master likely groomed and molded her to "his" cause by playing on her sense of loss, anger and sadness. Groomed and radicalized her by painting the Jedi as bad (starting by pointing her at the 4 that may have been complicit in her coven's deaths) and making the revenge trip feel more justified. We are now seeing a crack in that programming because she would not be on this murder-spree without the prodding of the master.
Bazil is a Tynnan. Like Odumin from the Han Solo Trilogy. Watch with the closed captioning, and these kinds of details become knowable.
i actually fully agree with maude 12:00 . mae not only switching up in that moment felt WAY too rushed and the fact that she told qimir her whole plan was just stupid . i honestly like this show ngl idc how other people feel but jus like maude said i only got into this episode when the sith showed up in the final minute. i wish they would’ve had mae stay in fear and then have her switch up after seeing her master wipe out several jedi and threaten osha.. jus like maude said.. i think if you wanna make it interesting have mae’s real final test be to kill osha and THATS when mae switches up cus obviously she wouldn’t do that. idk i jus think the writing this episode was all over the place and way too rushed.
Punctuation is important. There's a massive difference between "kill a Jedi, without a weapon" and "kill a jedi without a weapon." But I think Brandon has the right idea that Maude agrees with that she didn't realize she did. Mae isn't tapped into the side of power to complete the test because she's not connected with Osha like she should be since they never completed the ceremony. Osha is the path Mae needs for the both of them to fully realize their potential.
Maude's theory of why the Sith (not sure if he's the master or apprentice) killed Kenacca is actually a very good theory. To hide the truth from Mae.
I just had a thought
A) episode 3 was a total misdirect
B) the Four are actually possessed by the Witches
C) the missing years? The lack of interaction? Doesn't that seem suspicious?
D) The Master being Torbin, and his former allies know the truth, like a switch is set off, and their dark Persona takes over
E) the symbols in Kelnacca's house, who made those? Did he? Or was it someone else?
F) if the Master took down the Wookie, it must have been one hell of a fight (also they know each other)
Gahhh!! That ending c'mon!!!
In so many mystery shows, someone confronts the murderer with their suspicions of them and it is so frustrating. It felt the same when Mae revealed her decision to abandone her deal.
Anyone powerful with the force can float 🤦🏽 my god guys.
Yeah, that was a unwarranted knock on the episode, as force pushing is not a Jedi-only power. Heck, we outright see the Coven demonstrating those abilities in Aniseya's demonstration of the power of 2 against her, and I strongly suspect Mother Koril is the "Sith" Lord. She would have similar abilities, and enough hate behind her use of the Thread to be so potent against Jedi.
Brandon is right. So clear what Mae is doing. Bad cliffhanger!? Homie just smoked 7 Jedi!
Wait for the next episode guys, we’ve not seen the whole truth of what actually happened! There’s a reason it feels off 😏
Jessica assist them with the wigs lawd. Brandon looking like an elf on Lord of the rings 😂😂😂😊
This panel gets it!!!!!
I’d have to say that the dialogue for this series is too on the nose, but I also watched w/ someone that doesn’t consume too much SW and they said they liked it.
The show continues the Star Wars homage to Saturday Serial Matinees. The stilted exposition and reliance on Character POV fits with the style.
6:26 yes. It’s called bad writing. There’s absolutely no reason to have a cameo of Ki Adi Mundi. It adds nothing, it’s just shameless fan service. He’s not even supposed to be born yet. So the writers took this very specific character, that isn’t supposed to be there, gave him literally two lines, and those lines totally break already established lore and canon from previous movies.
There’s no other excuse. It’s just awful writing.
That prelude you guys did gave me life. So much fun to watch ya’lls reaction. Maude wanted more! 😂

In what worl…in what gala…in what UNIVERSE does it make sense to not inform the Jedi Council?? The plot SINGULARITIES in this show, the pedestrian blocking and direction, it’s all just so awful! I can appreciate that you guys get promotional access to Disney productions and I understand that’s why you have to be careful. Just know that I appreciate your candor because you’re doing it for us so that you can continue to provide first looks. 👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I'm starting to think Indara might be the Sith master. Qimir is the apprentice. Mae is the acolyte (although I feel Osha is capable of going darkside once truths are revealed). Something to understand about the Sith is that the Master and The Acolyte do NOT know each other. Or at least they do not conversate. Only the apprentice deals with the acolyte.
The reason I say Indara is because when she is fighting Mae in the first episode she stops Mae and at one point says "who trained you?!" . The reason why this is important is because Indara the master Sith has been training her apprentice Qimir a certain style of fighting. When she realizes that Mae is using that same style of fighting she wonders if her apprentice has an acolyte and Mae is the acolyte.
6:02 You NAILED IT here. Sol will turn out to be the Sith Master.
Hmm I like this idea. There are clues, misdirects. Something has felt off since the start
Its like they completely forgot WHY Mae wanted to kill Osha. Because Osha was going to leave her. So yes, after 16 years of thinking she is alone, finding out Osha is alive and can be reunited would drastically change her perspective! As they said, it would be like Mae was just being childish back then.
Qimir is totally not the dark Jedi/Sith/Acolyte. 👀
We're on episode 4 already....why hasn't anyone talked about Space Shrek yet?! (The green bald chick that's always talking to Sol back at hq)
😊 here is another one for you guys to chew on. When Sol sensed the presence of the master if he has never run into a Sith was he reacting to something he didn’t recognize or the feeling that there was another Jedi in the area. Because he senses force users, real easy, but was he reacting to a dark force and he doesn’t know what exactly he was feeling or was he feeling a Jedi force user
I think a lot of people are forgetting that Mae fell into spores before she “saw” bazile I think she could have dreamed that kalnaka was dead and how powerful her master is because she was going to double cross her
Man listen the second half of the episode really saved a lot but man I was feeling secret invasion vibes while watching this and I hope it doesn’t blow it at the end like they did
“Order sucky suck” is wild
Maude is right about this show and even the stuff she's not saying I agree 😅
The Sith Master, or even as SC theorized, the apprentice, is totally a Witch! That’s why they’re so powerful-THE POWER OF MANY!!!
She's compromising the Jedi's integrity by forcing them to use a weapon when she's* unarmed.
Looks like the guy from “The Good Place” is the Sith!
As an aside, at some point Disney needs to decide if these are movies or series. Cuz writing a 4 hour movie, then breaking it up in pseudo episodes of all shapes and sizes is NOT working!
This show genuinely makes me think I could write a better story(and I’m an idiot)
🎉 Evan great job breaking up the argument to keep the conversation going forward. I saw exactly what you did there. Great job dude that’s why you are producer extraordinary
How do you kill without a weapon? By using your frenemies to do it for you.
💖
I feel like Maud is getting ahead of the story. And she wants story beats before they’re addressed. Because we still don’t know what Mae believes occurred 16 years ago. We’ve only seen it from Osha’s perspective.
10:58 it was kind of odd that she suddenly had a complete change of heart after YEARS of being focused on revenge....and it basically happened off screen. It was so jarring I thought it wasn't really Mae and we were seeing a force projection or something.
Thanks to Brandon, Maude and Tom! 🌑
If anyone on the entire Acolyte payroll sets a successful rope snare I'll eat my boot.
It’s called the king of beers for a reason!!! Lol
I don't think Mae changed her mind 5 minutes later. I think she was playing the Qimir and acting like a victim to setup her trap
I'm surprised no one connected Kelnacca's drawings to aboriginal dream art. Obviously whatever happened is haunting his dreams and he's expressing himself through aboriginal tribal art
MAe is the Master-manupulator. Mae suspect QiMir is the Smiley-Kylo... the reason she questioned Qimir the way she did on the way to Kelnaca's. Her words pushes Qimir=Smiley-Kylo to kills Kelnaca for Mae... at the end... Kelnaca is dead... and Mae did not lift even a finger. Mae passed the test. The same way Palpatinr got rid of the entire Jedi order w/o lifting his fingers.
that is why Mae said... "I Do need you"
I guess it makes sense while watching Maude that I would get an ad for Aussie Haircare products.
"This bickering is pointless"
Mae becomes good osha becomes evil
Maybe the scene Maude thinks was missing from the episode was shot and then when they watched it they thought it didn’t come out well, and cut it… and that’s why the episode was so short.
And I also think those 4 Jedi did something shady af during that slaughter of the witches, because the way Mae killed that second Jedi was giving him poison and he willingly drinks it apologizing to her.
Question do you guys watch this together for the first time here or do you watch at home and then rewatch it and react I've always wondered
Mystery is about miss direction lets give it time and see what happens
😮Maude I totally get your frustration again because of the I’m gonna be nice not so great writing and pacing of the episodes. I think they’re leaving out information for these last four episodes so that’s why everything feels frustrating now. At least that is why I’m hoping and I am praying for.😂
Lol. A criminal mastermind in Star Wars. 😂
its so frustrating watching people try to make sense of a nonsensical story. The terrible writers of this show dont even know the answers
Kelnacca is stationed on the planet. It's a Jedi outpost.
I’m baffled by all the hate this series has received. As a child of the 80’s hearing people complain about how boring this series is makes me wonder if they were around to listen to Han Solo ramble about how fast the millennium falcon is in the Cantina.
I love the original 3 Star Wars but the dialogue was corny AF and people seem to forget that when claiming the new series are “killing” the franchise. Thankfully, this review panel is more level headed about the show than others. Acolyte has its lulls but it’s at least in line with what I’d consider good SW storytelling.
Bad dialogue in Star Wars is practically a requirement.
I’m still watching and plan to finish it but I completely understand the criticisms. I like the overall story beats but the editing is monstrous. We’re going through 15 scenes in a row, all about 47 seconds long. The camera work is hardly dynamic, give us some interesting angles once in a while. Also some of the humour falls flat but I get it’s supposed to emulate the prequels. Overall I’m interested in this show but it feels like a rough draft, not a final product.
@@MagicalSkyWizard most of the criticisms I’ve seen are that it’s too boring (or woke). Your criticism is that it moves too fast? As far as angles, which do you mean? You want over the shoulder shots? Dolly shots? There isn’t a cinematic maneuver other than maybe a dolly zoom that isn’t woven into this or any other modern SW spinoff.
An hell no it’s not supposed to emulate the prequels. I agree it just isn’t funny, but I don’t think that’s because they are failing. I think it’s cause the Acolyte is supposed to be dark, not some re-hash slapstick Jar Jar Binks remake.
Maude ❤
Brandon and Tom always have great discussions and raise good questions and are hilarious. They consider other points of view and can disagree while still keeping the convo going!
Maude is unfortunately on this show a lot
What if the teeth were from the slain Brendok witches and the master really is Mother Aniseya driven mad by her quest for revenge against the Jedi? Maybe she was possessed by the soils of the slain witches and gained “the power of many”?
😮 I think the problem is that they want to use a narrative style that may not feel properly executed. I like the idea of using Rashomon style exposition, but they are also to me using unreliable narrator style, and it is just creating more confusion than fluidity
@39:05 I feel like people overuse the word contradictory when they disagree with or don't like the way things go. Especially when it doesn't go their way. It doesn't make it contradictory that just makes it something you subjectively disagree with.
How do you kill a jedi without a weapon... Turn them to the dark side.
There's a scene in the trailer of Kelnacca lunging at Torbin with a lightsaber. We'll see him in action with at least one more flashback, don't worry
Yeah, one more flashback, probably from Mae's point of view this time.
Hm why was it left out? That is an odd choice. This episode was so short, having some more scenes would not hurt.
Then again it would be a clue that Kelnacca and the Master know each other
Hm if Torbin is the Master. Mae's mission has been a lie the entire time. And just getting people out of the way, the set up though is like a chess board. We cannot trust what we see
Her Master wants to kill Jedi without a weapon. I think we need to go back to his speech to Mae about how to destroy the Jedi.
😊 Brandon, I did not realize until you mentioned it that their mindset on this show was to create one big movie arc instead of episodic TV style. If that is the case, do any of you think because of that iffy writing for this show should this have been released as a binge drop. I totally hate binge dropping to be honest with you, but man these episodes are kind of rough. I mean I don’t mind it when there’s a payoff, but I really haven’t gotten any after episode two.
Love Maude!
No way people are pretending to like this show
Nahhhhhh, these criticisms are so chaotic lol. Thankfully Brandon got the sensible takes this episode.
12:30 Maude acknowledge Osha purposefully missed but that wasn't explicitly said. You accepted what was implied. They made it clearer this week but at the time it was only implied and even now she never said explicitly she missed on purpose.
A minute later you refuse to fill in the gaps for Mae's motivations and need it to be made crystal clear... and then like 40 seconds later you don't want her to have that scene telling the audience her motivations. Cuz I'm not sure who else she'd speak with. Plus I think Qimir killed Kelnacca when he "went to get water" after he said "you're losing your nerve" because he knew that if she got to Kelnacca before he did that she'd have an opportunity to turn in her master. By murdering Kelnacca and framing Mae the Jedi damn sure aren't gonna believe her.
I will admit... I don't think framing is the biggest motivation since he appears right after but I do think denying that opportunity is definitely the point. But I suppose just knowing he exists is probably less information than what Mae could expose if she were able to be debriefed.
This one is super aggravating to listen to lol. Mae telling Qimir is whack but her huge shift is clearly her thinking she can now be protected by the Jedi in exchange for information. Witness protection. That's why it's so unnerving to her to know that her master is already there. It's the whole vibe that Anakin had. Knowing that attacking the Emperor directly was futile.
force conception form twins, one good one evil, therefore :there is a vader twin
The way the Sith forced slapped Osha, than turned to the others...that is Def Manny Jacinto. I'd be pissed if it was Coral, cause that would be way too on the nose
I don't know. It would make sense that Mother Koril was never killed back in that scene and is behind Mae's radicalization. I could buy that Qimir is the Sith Lord, as he's shifty enough to have been playing Mae all along (and came across like he knows far more than he's letting on) but the motivations behind sending Mae after those 4 Jedi makes a lot more sense if Mother Koril is the one behind everything with a twisted hate for the Jedi that broke up her family (and prompted her to be behind the destruction of the Coven fighting against Aniseya). Qimir's motivation would be more random compared to that.
Venestra has to be the big sith twist if they want to make this interesting.
Any chance Qimir is the dark lord?
I think Mother Koril is ultimately behind everything, and have now been turned onto the idea that Torbin is her acolyte, his death was faked, and his meditative seclusion in the temple was his cover for operating as her Acolyte over the last decade. He's managing Mae for Koril and needed to intervene directly to remove Kelnacca from the equation since Osha's return was already making Mae waver. Qimir is just another very useful part of it all, but I doubt he's the Sith Lord.
I'm open to being surprised though.
Kelnacca is the apprentice and he’s using osha to kill the Jedi to pass his test of not using a weapon himself
CALLING IT RIGHT NOW! THE DARK LORD IS THE TWINS MOM!

Acolytes are force sensitive beings who are on the road to the dark side with hopes of becoming an apprentice.
Basically beings who are on deck to become the next Sith apprentice
😊 holy cow I got so much to say to you guys. I know this is about the acolyte, but I highly recommend to you guys. The Percy Jackson series on Disney+.
I watched it but coming as someone who really loved the books I thought the tv series was just okay
Love the beer convo
Ok, the tracker can find something but can easily separate from the others
Was Basil... Faulty?
Or misdirected. I'm wondering if The Master might have done that
It probably isn't Sith. What if we are looking at it the wrong way. Why wouldn't it just be a chain of Dark Force users just trying to, grow in a tight or close faction? What if every dark Force user has to kill a Jedi without a weapon and they are convincing another force user to come to their side And they are the ones that have to kill the Jedi? They would have completed the mission without a weapon except the power of influence. And through that process they have initiated a new dark Force user who has to do the same. It would be like a pyramid sch eme but for dark Force users
Mod has been doing Wayyyy to much she's been all over the place and she can take the day off for episode 5 frfr
