    In this video I go over the design, build, and functionality of the custom aluminum 80/20 slide out collapsible bed in my Mitsubishi Delica campervan. This design is ideal for maximizing the space in your van and also allows the bed to double as a couch. The 80/20 t-slot aluminum used allows for a strong frame while minimizing weight.

    Dude, this is the cleanest slide out bed build I’ve seen on all of TH-cam. Gosh this is perfect. I’m going to use this design on my build for my truck. 👍🏽

    Nice, clean work! This is exactly what I need. Any chance you might share the SketchUp and/or 8020 order sheet?

    Good one! I made my design with a similar system. Now that I've used for a while I may switch to this 80/20 system, looks very flexible and adaptable.
    Keep it up!

    Great job, I would definitely secure the two other legs to the floor. If the van should roll, that bed could be extremely dangerous.
    Good luck and enjoy your Delica.

    LoL if the car had been 30cm longer (1:40) the audio would have been cut out entirely😅 Great video's man!

    Hi Ali! Just purchased your material list and sketch up. Such a great idea I had to try and recreate. I'm building out my custom material list on 8020 and was wondering if you thought about doing a more in-depth video comparing the material list to the build itself. Thanks!

    This is brilliant. I've been trying to achieve something similar and this video got it all together for me! One question - do you know what the part is called at 6:35 - the angle bracket that the frame slides on?

    Excellent idea. I am going to do the same, except will extend along the van. Thank you for sharing. Do you know what kind of sliding "thingy" from 8020 you used. I have a hard time getting the right one. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

    I really want to see how you continue with the conversion! I recommend you to see the channel of Thomas Heaton, he also made the conversion of a Delica (you probably already know him) greetings from Paraguay!

    Do you have a link to the slider part a 6:35 of your video? Its not clear what shape or part that is and thats pretty crucial to execute this design

    What size is the full bed 120x200 ?? and 80x200 when tugged away?

    • @iAligator
      @iAligator  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the slide out piece in, it's 183cm x 61cm (72" x 24"). Fully extended it's ~53cm (21") wider at 183cm x 114cm (72" x 45").

    good job, but cut those long aluminium poles in half and create a break, otherwise if you get rear ended they will end up in your ass.

  • @cailanlibby3631
    @cailanlibby3631 ปีที่แล้ว

    This does not look like a safe design. If you are in a rear impact collision the aluminum beams will become spears going through the seat. To solve this there needs to be a break halfway.

    you could have done the same thing with wood for a 1/4 of the price of the 80/20
