Just got my western 8 ft PRO PLUS plow on and went over all the electrical connections .now we need some snow here in OHIO .i am using the cab command controller hand held unit . I would like to try the joystick control to see if that will work better . I’m old school and had a joystick control years ago on 10 ft plow in a stick shift dump truck ,it was mounted on the left side by the door arm rest and loved it . Thanks for the video’s,tom
If you run the heat on your floor boards when the snow comes up off the plow and hits the windshield it will roll off instead of melting on the warm glass with it cold it blows right off the windshield
I’ve towed a lot with my F250 and not once have I had that trailer plug issue. Must be bad luck? Hope you get it figured out soon because that would drive me nuts!

Yes man of course I back blade I guess you didn’t catch my last plowing video. I don’t need to get up close to that building for any reasonZ also the snow has been down for 5 days and it’s crust. Back blade won’t do a thing.
I have been plowing for years with the Boss V Plow, it has been bulletproof. I am currently using it on a 2017 F250 Powerstroke like yours. You mention locking the rear differential and manually locking the front hubs under certain circumstances. I have not had to do that? Maybe my plowing jobs are different than yours, but what is the reason you would do that? Thanks and I enjoyed your video!
pvp64 In heavy deep snow it is a good idea to manually lock your front hubs it’s easier on the gear. Locking your rear axle just gives you power to both wheels all the time.

I had to put foils on my plows, hate that overspray, especially when its snowing at night...can make it hard to see. Ever have any issues with gelling? Was the whole reason I went with gas this time around....hated changing fuel filters at 4 am, wasnt worth the down time
@@chrisgraff1979 I ALWAYS used power service anti gel with every fill up, ran a 70/30 mix and still had a ton of issues. Owned powerstrokes for 10yrs and couldnt go through a single winter without a gel up (western Massachusetts) I don't trust gas stations though they can tell u whatever they want
I live in northern Minnesota I have had four powerstrok's over the years I never had one jell up on my only time I had it happen was when I was working out in north Dakota and it was on me I had straight #2 in it. I never used power Service (911). My dealer told me never use it to hard on the fuel system. We have gas Stations that have straight #1 fuel

My dad hauled fuel most his life even hauled jet fuel for awhile. Told me not to trust any of them around here. Just like they change prices daily but buy it at a certain price once a week. Hustlers....just my own experience, that's why I was asking
On initial push going into driveway, it would make more sense to "V" the plow in opposite of what you had it. It windows snow away from you & easier on your truck. Then put it in the position you had it rest of time.
aj12271 Yea I agree if the snow was deeper. I had to make 2 passes anyway and the snow was light so I did it this way to cleanup better and to make sure 2 passes is all I needed
@@joshsuperduty1270 gas does the job fine as well. Obviously the diesel has more power but gas has plenty. My dad uses a 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500 gas (vortec) for plowing and a 2019 f-350 srw 6.7 powerstroke to tow.

Best truck I ever plowed with was a 1985 Chevy military blazer..aka m1009 amazing it has a banks turbo on it locker in the rear...Iv use all kinds of truck 2018 f350 2000 7.3..A 24valve Cummings..All break and all shit..I beat the shit out of this military k5 and it just pushes and pushes its nuts man...I have never broke down knock on some thick wood lol.
When the ground isnt frozen and you have to plow, do you use plow shoes at locations like these? I know my Boss V plow is so heavy that it likes to dive once it hits dirt. Great videos!

Michael Smokler When I bought the second plow I had work for both. I dropped some people this year because of my baby. I didn’t want to be overworked through the winter so I would be able to home as much as possible
@@workplaytv ohh yeah I agree about being around the family! But me personally your 9.5ft plows would be like a guy getting a 8.5ft straight blade on a 250 or 350 if your gunna go for a 550 plow truck get the 10.5ft plow. Big commercial truck gets a big commercial plow. IMO of course
Hope you have better luck with your 10 speed than me. I should have listened to myself and waited to see how the 10 speed works out. That’s all I’ll say.
workplaytv unfortunately yes, slamming 1st into 2nd, they reprogrammed so it could learn my driving style, idk, we shall see. They said the same thing was happening to the F150’s in early production years ago. I just hate it, it was one of my fears, the 6 speed was just awesome, plain and simple. And when I mean slamming, it was like turning on a PTO at 2000 rpm. It’s still concerning ,if the reprogramming works, who’s to say what condition the gears are in after so many hard hits? I’ll keep ya posted.

We can cut and clean up 1/2 acre pretty quick. Not installing the driveway just cutting and levelling the driveway and lot. I’f he wants me to install driveway will be extra.

Wheew . You are cheap ! We charge a minimum of 5k a day for land clearing equipment. Why wouldn't you Vee open into the property ? Less stress on truck . Theres s bypass tow jumper plug that comes with the truck that alleviates th eff dingdong ring . Ask the dealer who keeps stealing yours . Grounds not frozen .otherwise it would ski smoothly

Like the others have said, I like the plowing videos. I have a Boss V plow and just watching this video has given me a couple tips.
I always use a little bit of dielectric grease on my plugs when I connect or plug up. It keeps the corrosion down.

I have 4 westerns and 1 boss. The westerns are so much easier to hook up! Maybe get a western mvp3 to compare

How are diesels to plow with vs gas engines?
Love it! The low end HP and torque really helps to push the snow.

Blake B Nah I have never used them. Took them off as soon as I get the plow. I just try to feather it as best I can.
