@@alfiehobson9695 i highly recommend, absolutely love it! And the bikes capabilities are wayyy above my skill currently! Holds up solid. Would just recommend a dropper for ease when transitioning from climbing to dh
I have 2 similar bikes, a 2016 Bizango and a Whyte S150C RS. The Bizango is a kg lighter but feels alot more nimble, probably to do with the different geometry. Over a x counrty type course it is much faster but when it starts to get rough and downhill the S150 is the bike to be on.
Interesting comparison. Good standardisation. My only thought (being into the exercise physiology element) is the 7bpm hr variation would suggest you pushed harder on Voodoo. Semantics I know. Subscribed as good content
Great comment! Yes the higher heart rate might suggest I worked harder on the voodoo and would potentially explain why it was slightly faster. I was debating cycling each bike at a standard workload (measured by heart rate. Not as accurate as a power meter but hey) and seeing which one was faster. I want to bring a bit more sport science in to some of my content in the future but need to balance the video between some of the nerdy stuff for us nerds and making an interesting video. Watch this space :)
Sport science eh? Great work. Not sure if you have previously done this but I think an explanation of why hardtails are generally more efficient climbers would have been good.
Haha yeah, using a small part of that degree 😂. Good shout. I think I can get a bit more technical with it. I might put a bit of a explanation at the start of the next video. Cheers dude!
Interesting comparison! I’m guessing that the cube will be more than 5% faster on the downhill sections, so it would be interesting to see how they compare round a trail centre!
Really envious of the cube looks gorgeous. Also quick question is the dropper post cabel on your voodoo, where it comes out the bottom of the frame being cut into? I've got to get some electrical tape to cover it.
Great question. Yes I put some tape around the cable but haven’t actually checked it in a long time. I have been trying to think of a more long term solution.
Great video, with the result that I would have expected. I'm lucky enough to have exactly the same alloy Bizango 29er (a 2018 with a fork upgraded to Rockshox Judy Silver), a 2020 Bizango Carbon (with fork upgrade to Judy Gold, the original forks went onto the alloy Biz) and a much upgraded Merida 120 7.5 (which is my more Enduro/Downhill tool). The direct comparison between the two Bizangos is interesting, the alloy Biz feels a bit more playful and aggressive with a really great connection between the pedals and back wheel, you push it goes. It's by far the best climber of the three (I do a lot of extreme climbs and 50km+ cross country days so can make a good comparison), the carbon feels a bit more compliant at the backend and is just a bit more comfortable over rough ground than the alloy Biz (and better componentry and standards all round). My full suss Merida is a donkey uphill compared to either of them but far superior coming back down. All in all, I think the Alloy Biz may actually be my favourite of the three but, as I think you have been finding out, it is a bit let down by cheaper components and out of date standards which make upgrading a pain. The QR 9mm rear end and free hub are pretty poor, the BB is not great and the straight steerer is a pain to upgrade. I fitted Nuke proof adapter cups and boost spacers to mine to allow the upgrade. The original Raidon forks it came with never worked properly (I should have sent them back under warranty really), the Judy forks have transformed it. Anyway, sounds like a moan but I do still think it's a great bike and great fun to ride.
I have a 2018 cube stereo 140, the blue and grey one. It's great but I have an annoying rattle that isn't the dropper post, seat and probably not the internal cables in the frame because I pull them tight and still hear it. Do you have a rattle on your stereo or any idea?
Hummm that's a tricky one. Its hard to know without seeing the bike but perhaps check the cranks/ bottom bracket and all the suspension linkages. Those areas can be the usual suspects for mystery rattles.
It will totally depend on what (and how) you ride. For blue flow trails I like a hardtail, but for bigger drops and sustained rocky sections (such as black diamond routes) I prefer a full sus.
Class that stereo, love mine

I swapped from a Canyon Spectral to a Bizango and love it. I was over biked. Great channel thanks.
Look forward to more comparisons! Recently got a bizango and love it!👌
Does it hold up on trails? Thinking of getting one for my lil bro(he's 14)

Come on bizango. Show the 4K bike how it’s done.
I think it managed to defend itself successfully in this test. Not as comfortable, but definitely faster!
Have you put in any volume spacers in your cube stereo this will make the suspension more progressive.
I have, but think I would like to add one or two more to dial it in.
great vid love the channel keep up the great work
Love it .be great to see what would be faster on a larger lap like llandegla
Thanks mate. Yeah, I have a bit of a plan to do something along those lines. A few other fun tests up my sleeve too.

Yeah agreed! I have no doubt it will come in to its own on the downhill test. I have a few fun tests planned 👍🏻
bizango should have a 1 x 11 cassette, you likely made a mistake saying its a 1 x10
which one makes you smile more when you ride it ,
It's got to be the cube

When the cube is going up technical uphill trails do the pedals bottom out much? Thanks
Good question. I have scraped them if I am going over a big rock or something, but haven’t really had a problem with it to be honest.

What size disc brakes does the Bizango have?

is a full suspension noticably better than a hardtail as i am torn weather to upgrade my rockhoper hardtail or keep saving up for a full sus

I’ve got a cube stereo and went from a cube aim and it feels fkn class

Thanks Will. I am stoked that you are enjoying the content!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Voodoo banzango is a 11 speed not 10 gust like to point out
Haha yeah I noticed that mistake when watching the final edit. It was too late to change it. Rookie error on my part!
Where is this bike park ? Thanks
Haldon Forest mate. In Devon
Great video
Thanks 👍🏻
Where are these trails?
They are part of Haldon Forest in Devon
Thank you
I was thinking about buying the voodoo bizango but then looked at the Correa furry 2020 and it was so much better
Its really not but okay...
I mean he right but the furry has different aspects which makes it better and worse at the same time
@@callumtravers7512 1 less gears standard wheels heavier but has dropper post
So the Carrera is worse in every way apart, from Fork (same) and a dropper.
But it still looks good value compared to most things out there.
@@kevinshort3943yh it is cheaper aswell but if u sont like 29er the carea is the one for u
just got mine and its pissing down typical
That's always the way when you have a new bike.
@@bikeandbeyond everytime, well at least this time iam not sat looking at it with broken ankle, snapped quad and detached retina lol
so you had a higher heart rate on the bike you cycled the fastest on. That makes sense.
You'll never beat a hardtail uphill.
Hard tail will always beat a full sus. Reason being there isn’t that bounce more speed to the wheel with no bounce
