    Very nice looking bike. I also like how they are trying to diversify from all other brands in terms of geometry trends. I have tested a lot of progressive and long reach frames and I somehow prefer the less progressive feel of the old stereos. They pedal like a charm and feel super lively on the trail when setup correctly. Probably they are not perfect for extra gravity rides, but how often do we need that?

      The extreme geometry of the Pole or Geometron is not really a trend they are the ones trying to diversify themselves from all other brands. :) Just look at the new Canyon Spectral, YT Jeffsy, Stumpjumper etc. none of them are extreme. I think there is a limit to everything and today's bikes reached it. Going longer wouldn't provide all-around benefits especially in the case of trail bikes.

    I don't think the long reach is "market demand" it's just a hype that the media keeps pushing and hopefully, it will go away. I think the 458mm for the 20" (size L) is perfect for ~90% of the riders and the rest who want extreme reach can buy one size larger or get a Pole or a Geometron...

      Agree! I think depending on the race, yes a longer bike can be more stable, but really for all of us who just want to have fun the long reach isn't that cool. I like the steep seat angles and short chainstay trend, but honestly head angles around 65 +/-1 and reach around 460 on a large is perfect.
      I think too many riders want to go as fast as they can without having to learn proper technique. Bad for the trails, bad for their health when they crash and bad for the sport as faster riders are obviously seen as more dangerous by hikers (whom we have constant issues with in Germany, mostly due to a few asshole bikers).

    built around 'racer requirement and german logic rather than market demands'. which means it was designed properly. not all american bikes and all bikes reviewers like.

    What size is the bike in the video?

  • @williamjessing9020
    @williamjessing9020 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    If you think about a shorter top tube is almost the same as a shorter stem and gets your weight further back so when you see bikes with super long reachses its almost like a longer stem just without the feel of a long stem so from that logic we never truly moved away from long stems

    • @theblackjackchannel1082
      @theblackjackchannel1082 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Epicsquirrel 17 this is wrong.
      With a long stem your weight is on the front wheel

    • @ollierichards6508
      @ollierichards6508 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Epicsquirrel 17 your statement is like fully incorrect lmao. A longer stem puts your weight IN FRONT of the front wheel

      @Candesce 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh wow, thanks for noticing that. It definitely looks like it. I had to look at it and compare it to the current one like 5x before I was satisfied it really was different and I wasn't just looking at it weird haha.

    • @Candesce
      @Candesce 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It looks like they've given it Magic Mary side knobs, and beefed up (and flattened out) the second smaller ring of centre knobs. I'm about as excited as I could be about new tyres haha.

    They are made of cheese. mine started to fall apart just after 3 months. One day on a trail = 2 wheels in the shop. got fed up in the end and had my money back.

    Good, I can't stand those really stretched out bikes. It's just a silly fad and I expect it will go away in a couple of years.

      Don't ever show your face on a trail again until you try one, your slow shitty xc rig is nothing compared to an all mountain beast

  • @gregr1154

    stupid rear pivot design - half of the motion is going sideways on the shock, instead of in-line. idiotic.
