The more IMPORTANT thing about leaving the nut on the steering column isn't to avoid hitting yourself in the face, but to avoid RIPPING the wires off of your airbag connections!!
@@zach_lush hey bro, I need a little help 😅😅😅 so I installed the steering wheel but now my abs, hill assist, and dccd lights are on, any ideas how to turn them off? Do I need to get the steering wheel calibrate?
@@cchhiillaannggoo hey, so the steering wheel does no have to be calibrated for anything. It's just a replacment so the car shouldn't notice anything different. I'm not sure how you managed to do this but I'd go back in and see if the wiring on the clockslring is fully plugged in. If it's not that I have no idea...
@@zach_lush the only thing that happened while I did this was that the cables from the air bag spin to the bottom after I removed the steering wheel and I just had to turn them again to put them on top, also I disconnect both cables from the battery not just the negative
@@zach_lush to remove it! Loosened the nut a bit and nothing. Me and my buddy gave up and kept it stock… idk what I did wrong. Maybe I forgot to unplug a connection?
@@JMerk2222 the steering wheels don't like to come off. Remove the nut again and disconnect any wires you see. I recommend putting the nut back on by a couple if threads to keep the steering wheel from smacking you in the face cause you need to just pull on it and hit the back of it with your palms like crazy. It'll come off, you just need to encourage it too. I did one for a wrx a few years ago and I had the same issue!
Lol sorry I’m just used to air tools when it comes to impacts so that just came out without thinking. I was just referring to the drill and the impact being used. I mean I get removing the nut for the wheel but I personally just wouldn’t have used it to reinstall since the recommended ft/lb Tq is only 29ft/lb. Either way in the end it looks amazing dude!! Any GF who supports the build is definitely a keeper! Take it easy bro!
That’s what’s up bro lol the wheel is dope I have a 16 Sti with airlift and a different carbon wheel
Nice man! Can't beat a carbon steering wheel

Both are very important!
Just ordered the same steering wheel 😁😁 can’t wait to put it on
You'll love it!

Couldn’t get my wheel to budge after following all of the steps…
Like to remove the wheel or to physically turn it?

I got it from the same supplier as the other guys so technically has no brand. Same wheel that subie supply Co, jdm muscle USA, and subie bros offer

Air tools seem unnecessary but okay
What air tools? But if you got them might as well use them. Especially on the steering column nut
