Thanks for making this video my guy! I live here in the Portland area, where SubieBros is located (and Perrin, ironically - I AM in Subie country haha) but they have been out for months. I just got an email from the staff who informed me they got me one in stock I can pick up tomorrow. Carbon fiber, smooth perforated leather, white stitching, and white center line. $379 and worth every penny I'm sure. Needed a good video to follow before installing tomorrow and this one is pretty cut and dry. Thanks again!
Glad you did this, I have a wheel arriving on Tuesday and needed a good tutorial video. I went with an Alcantara wheel cause I love the feel of it on my sim rig. that carbon does look really good though.
I couldn’t get my OEM wheel off for the life of me. My buddy tried too and couldn’t get it. Got to the last step and loosened the bolt but would NOT budge…
I got told by a seller I got one of these from a alignment is required after installation. Did you find this to be true? Sorry if you mention in the video, I am at work.
You only need an alignment if you install the steering wheel incorrectly. If you perfectly line up the new steering wheel with the same spot the old one was on, you'll be fine.
Aparrently I'm a moron because I can not blindly find these clips in the first step. I've been digging with all sort of tools and nothing is budging... Everyone edits their videos at this point like hey look it only take a few seconds... I'm just here like...
@@WRXGarage I did. I watched several videos and spent a good 30 minutes trying and never got one undone. I took a 5 minute drive to my local Subaru independent shop with a six pack in hand and in less time than it took to hand them out he had the airbag popped off. Drove it home and 15 minutes later the job was done. Life is just so much easier letting the people who've been there done that do it.

Thanks for making the video! I always wanted to know, does it feel weird because it's made of two materials? Thanks for your input
Excellent video! This is on my list of things to likely do next. Only thing giving me pause is it is cold outside now!
Compared to other things we've done in the cold, this one really isn't that bad at all!

Yeah... You have to really yank on it. Maybe try some PB blaster?
When do we get graphene steering wheels?

would could be my problem if i can’t take off my aftermarket steering wheel?
Any ideas if it can fit on a 2014 model? As i am thinking of upgrading the steering buttons as well
They make a separate model for the previous generation! Check out their website, it has a filter by car model function.
@@WRXGarage thanks a lot, great video by the way
Those freakin clips are a pain in the ass!!!
Yeah... Took me around 10 min to figure them out 🤦♂️
@@WRXGarage I got it off in 5 but they were still a pain in the ass
@@WRXGarage it was definitely worth the work, the carbon fiber wheel in my sti seems oem but not…
Question! Is this steering wheel smaller than OEM?
No, overall the same dimensions, handlea are a little bit thicker.
@@WRXGarage ah got it! thanks!

Look at the direction my arrow is pointing! Back towards the Subaru emblem in the middle of the horn

It definitely takes a little getting used to! Just because it feels different than the stock one. I really like how it feels though.
