It's hard not to cry at tracks tall bodies few things are able to remind me of the past I've crawled out of but it's kind of cool to touch those emotions again like a cold lake with your toes, for a second
But in all seriousness, the lyrics, her intensity and the atmospheric distorted, droning guitars kill me. Chelsea Wolfe is beautiful, intense. Apokalypsis has been on repeat for like a day now.
It's a machine we're up against Devoid of reason, devoid of sense It's a system full of regret We wear it on our shoulders Because someday we'll win We could be two straight lines in a crooked world We could be two straight lines in a crooked world They've created
Sounds like a reference to Solomon Ecclesiastes 1:15 (KJV) "That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered." as in a crooked environment the crooked looks straight but not according to God (neither objectivity) and that which is negative cannot be counted as positive thought the society might claim it so.
dude they are so all around completely awesome. i mean as a vocalist she's wild and with simple melodies and chords they manage to build the most interesting songs with subtlety and nuance. all her albums build such an awesome ambiance when you let 'em play through. my favorite was the acoustic album and this one though.
When the light in your eyes goes out for the last time When your hands are tied pale on pale and mind on mind When your body is swollen with blood and ocean floor is swollen with sun When the light in your eyes goes out for the last time When your mind is open
I am entertained. And after several years of enjoying CW's music on and off, I now know why it is that I enjoy her music so much. I enjoy it all the more for what it isn't than for what it is.
I love Tracks(tall bodies).it makes me feel small, but not insignificant.Sung with very few lines but with words and a voice that give this song the weight of gold.
Does anyone else think that Pale on Pale sounds like the kind of song that would be in a movie during a scene where a character is high on peyote and watching someone's body get buried in the desert, then they start to have self-analytical hallucinations about how they've come to be in that scenario? And to top it off, the scene is black and white. Maybe it's just me?
Yes this music inspires me on that level of being there but also being somewhere else, and not necessarily sure what is coming next. It is tough to predict the current's next pull. I'm glad this music is here and I am not sure where we are going.
I also figured out while messing around with my multieffects processor is that if you turn the sustain way up on a compressor it'll feedback with little effort. Funnily, I don't think people really appreciate all the effort that goes into making "noise" like the feed back effect we are talking about, haha :P
It's hard to explain how strong are the effects of these songs on me. Few things can cause me so much joy and melancholy at the same time.
Dude i know that feeling bro. Only Chelsea can do that
Erich Groti I think that's the definition of dread.
and I say that as a positive thing.
Relatable
Same
i cant explain why, but this video is always my favourite version of tracks (tall bodies)
Me too. I think this is the definitive version of the song.
I think the accented wobble in the first riff sells it for me.

I feel like Chelsea is the kind of artist that can create a folk/western album, follow it with a black metal record and it would make total sense.
She kind of did just that. You predicted the future lol
Unlike Myrkur
@@AmonRa1081 What? Chelsea has a Black Metal album?
@@maybelleannezapanta4782 Sort of, it's Hiss Spun.
@@maybelleannezapanta4782 Doom metal with a black metal vibe

Her voice's so meditative... She's genius.
this may be the best music I've ever heard.
Mazzy Star is a little better
still dark enough to be cool
***** Just because you like Mazzy Star more doesn't make her better, they're just both incredible. De gustibus non est disputandum
Great tip, thanks heaps!! Mazzy Star added!
what I got from this was another niccce recommendation
That Pale on Pale performance..holy shit no words,i can find no words.
this woman frightens me in the best possible way
The ending of Pale on Pale should be 10 minutes. This song is perfect.

i want to have a tattoo of this sentence on me.

If something tragic or sad happened to you while listing to these and then you listened to them again years later u would feel so sad
Chelsea Wolfe, you are one of the phew people I wouldn't want to die.
Easily one of the strangest comments I've ever seen on TH-cam.
Jack Irven I know lol. What on earth? I mean I guess I would agree though
I have to close this video fast before i burst into tears with how beautiful this performance is.
She's on a fairly well known independent label Sargent House with a number of other pretty well known bands.
her voice is so haunting and beautiful. i would love to have her voice
I absolutely adore Chelsea Wolfe!
Me screaming at eternity
Это шедевр, королева. Желаю слушать тебя вечно

this is a true masterpiece. nothing left to say. it has pure emotion, rich vocals, and great melodies.
Great performance.

Simply amazing every time..... again and again and...
This is so good I don't know what to do with myself.

It's definitely just you. Be inspired. These days, anyone can film.
Edit yes I can read the sarcasm
Are you admitting to something? 😁
I love that added keyboard

She is an amazing artist and she needs no label
Oh God! she is amazing and deserves more fans.
This is a better recording than the album
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered
holy shit i can't believe this was uploaded in 2011. the production quality was way ahead of its time, by youtube standards lol.
such a brilliant capturing of these performances. love these renditions of these songs!
So deep, so insane, so dark, so me. I fucking in love.
wow. simply a breath of fresh air.
When the light in your eyes goes put for the last time...what a haunting visual
Chelsea Wolfe amazes me more and more and more... The best singer in years I've heard! 30 october 2013 in Vooruit Gent Belgium, I'll be there.
kudos to the people who live mixed this.. brilliant.
This is awesome. Great shots and sounds fantastic...shame it doesn't have more views...
TY chelsea so much
I'm head over heels in love with this right now.
My favorite video. Can't wait to see her in 3 weeks in Boston.
Her music hits home hard. Great performances.
This is only my favorite record because it was the first I heard. Otherwise I couldn’t pick a favorite.
She has that Radiohead feel with the music and words. Love the dark music and vibes.

Genious
So good
Just an absolute goddess
i agree with you and i have good ears its sounds very good but i mean, they are in a studio and this is mixed and master
Pale on Pale is WAAAYYYY better than the album version. So much more atmospheric!
pale on pale remembers me to some songs in the album serenades from anathema
she's perfect
drummer is super smooth!
IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE
Moving, penetrating, and stirring goosebumps.
I love her! I want to play shows with her!
This is rad!
That bridge riff on Tracks (Tall Bodies) would fit right in on the first Black Sabbath album.
I Love...its perfect.
love it
Awesome
Be still my heart...
I think you should make that movie. All the yes. :)
She will pass away as the only of her kind
good voice
It’s that machine we are up against devoid of reason devoid of sense
Goddess..
minute 1:23 hahaha she sounds so cute and funny!
+Angel García YEAHHHHHHHHH AHHAHAHAHHAHA
indeed!
I really wanted her to scream at the end. I think it would have made me implode though so it's probably better that she didn't...
That is what I like
That ending was freaking hot.
Chelsea Wolf, Angel Olson, Julia Jacklin.
Someday we’ll win
haha! thanks man!
So fucking bad ass!
She looks like Marcelline The vampire queen IRL. (It's a compliment obviously)
