Kexp doesn't fuck around either. Their performances always sound amazing. Partly from them and particularly from the amazing bands they get in here. One that has always stuck with me is wolf alice first visit. Amazing sound
@@MellowJelly Jess is really good, but definitely check out Dylan's work on Ἀποκάλυψις (Apokalypsis) if you haven't already. Strong, consistent, and distinct style. Also, the Mrs. Piss duo stuff between Chelsea and Jess is a good showcase of the two complementing each other.
4 years later - the same outfit - thank you Jess and Ben and Bryan - and especially Chelsea... it was an awesome gig tonight in Perth West Oz... the highlight of my year so far
The song The Offering on the hiss spun album does NOT GET ENOUGH CREDIT! i would pay anything to see her play it live, weather it is in person, or just watching on youtube. gahh that would be awesome as fuck 🖤🤍🖤
Not to sound completely macabre, or morose, but I love how her music has this way of making it feel almost beautiful to embrace dying, without sadness, or fear.
I am mystified right now... this muse is darker than goth... it is so beautiful, and I loved watching. All of these musicians are talented. Chelsea, I could easily care about you forever.
This performance drained me. I love how intense it is. Even more than in the studio version. I love both but in here you can hear the power on a whole other level. It's frightening even but beautiful.
I'm so glad she decided to write about more personal stuff. To me that's largely what music ought to be about. And it makes my connection with her music feel more genuine. Btw the drummer kicks all kinds of ass.
This woman and her bandmates are nothing short of excellence. Absolutely the pinnacle of great music as we know it today. No lie , I am literally SHOOK from her live performances. Her stage presence is intimidating and commanding yet vulnerable somehow. I only am speaking my opinion BUT if you don't share at least some of it ...well...we are not on speaking terms. BTW, the drummer is special , look how she is mentally aware and purposeful with each hit. These guys are beyond great . Thank you so much guys .
Her sound is softly fat, like a fuzzy river, flowing in our vein. Opening emotionals gates. Spun is a goosebumps factory, Simple, efficient, heavy, fragile. "She shines In a world full of ugliness She matters when everything is meaningless..."
I've watched Chelsea's last KEXP performance probably a hundred times. I am so flipping excited she made a new appearance. Chelsea Wolfe is my spirit animal. The Culling should be played as loud as possible, in a small room, on repeat.
Chelsea Wolfe is brilliant, love her and can relate to her as a musician and singer on so many levels. The interviewer is lovely as well, she is so down to earth and kind.
Soooooo happy I got to see her at the Ballard Nordic Museum opening. Best show I've seen in years. All but one of the acts that night were AWESOME. I will also be thrilled to see her AGAIN in september at the Showbox...
Вот два года прошло, хочу добавить. Вот когда она поёт "скавенджерс фиидс андер лоу си" и делает над головой движения руками будто стряхивает с себя этот черный морок, ну просто моё почтение!
Abby. I'm afraid to admit I think you're so fucking great. As a man I don't want you to hate me. This was the first time I saw Chelsea. Chelsea is so authentic. Chelsea stands for everything I stand for.
That's awesome. When I wrote and recorded more music than I do now, I used to look for royalty-free clips of rather banal things (a bell ringing, crowd noise, a door shutting etc) and then process them so much that they sound sinister as hell. Done the right way, you could actually make a very listenable entire album out of stuff like that.
The KEXP engineers are so good! These performances always sound so fucking good
Such a dark angelic being 🖤 can't wait to see her live.
!! Bought tickets to her new tour as well !
Going to try and get tix.
March 1st for me XD
That girl has a crush on Chelsea and I don’t blame her. 🖤❤️
her pupils are dilated.. that is a sign a lot of the time.
@@patrickcummins79 It's also a sign when you're in a room with very little light like the room they're in, genius....
She is out of luck - Chelsea has a crush on Ben Chisholm

Are all great musicians!!!!! Is out of question!!! This Live is total annihilation! Wow!
She makes black shine.
She’s a breathtakingly beautiful artist.
That would be a good band name "Black Shine" 🤘👍
Love this comment. She DOES make black shine. Damn.
She truly is. Spellbinding.
Most bands would be lucky to sound this good in the studio after production.
They're reaping the benefits of lots of rehearsal and taking their craft seriously.
Kexp doesn't fuck around either. Their performances always sound amazing. Partly from them and particularly from the amazing bands they get in here. One that has always stuck with me is wolf alice first visit. Amazing sound
That room with her voice is bad ass ,like just her in space singing into the infinite.
We are all the interviewer, just beaming in admiration
TeaDrinker3000 and a twit?

The most mature comment I've seen from a fellow Gripper out in the wilds.
Gotta love Wolfie.
How else would you get paid
I would love a collaboration with Chelsea & Free Dominguez/Kidney Thieves 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Band members
Chelsea Wolfe - vocals, guitar
Ben Chisholm - synth, bass,
Jess Gowrie - drums
Bryan Tulao - lead guitar
Thank you! 👍
They are TIGHT I really like the drummer's style

Discovered Chelsea Wolfe earlier this year in Feb & have been in love with her & her music. ❤
Let me repeat: drummer is love, drummer is life.
The lighting is AMAZING!!! Chelsea is simply AMAZING, whole band kicks ass
I get a sort of portishead-meets-doom-metal feeling here
Portishead meets björk meets marilyn manson meets nine inch nails
I was thinking Portishead from the first sound out of her 👄
Hahah exacto w;
Maybe throw a little Burzum in there too?
Sounds dope
3 seconds into their performance and the darkness just seeps in.

Great drummer, she's hypnotizing.
Eric Chappell She’s awesome live, she hits so goddamn hard, it’s badass.
^-^
I know. Most people are so mesmerized by Chelsea they dont notice how awesome that drummer is.
Yea, that's Jess Growhlie from the band Happy Fangs.i think I spelt her name wrong but they are pretty good.
Don't feel like enough people give Jess credit. Such a talented and passionate drummer.
Agreed
Just because she's a woman?
@@Silenceeify nah not because she’s a woman, but rather we often as a species don’t acknowledge our true geniuses
I recommend Mrs. Piss, if you haven't heard them already. It's a side project of Chelsea Wolfe and this drummer!
I like the sound of her snare
The culling is such a magistral song!! Great creator of dark mood
Not to sound completely macabre, or morose, but I love how her music has this way of making it feel almost beautiful to embrace dying, without sadness, or fear.
I hope I can do that when I have to die one day.
I get what you mean
Dying isn't all that bad. I kinda enjoyed it because it peeled me away from the horrible physical pain that was a symptom of what caused it all.
the way i hear it and feel it, her music is the expression of pure sadness.
Hits me the exact opposite. I fear it even more now........just one more breath, right?
Much better live, than the recordings IMO. Much rawer sound, and her voice is immaculate
I only recently discovered Chelsea, and I seriously love her so freaking much.... I want to share her music with everyone I know 🖤
"Spun" always, as soon as that first note strikes, literally makes me feel like I'm being physically crushed. And it's fantastic
16 Psyche Forever ...
she's so beautiful
Spun is such an incredible song
This performance is breathtaking. Drummer is over this world.
She just ate my soul...and I let her...
Love how dark and intense her performances are. I wouldn’t bat an eye if she took my life consumed by her presence. I love her so much 🖤
After listening Hiss Spun on a loop for months, Im really surprised to hear how good those songs sound live...and is not easy.
I saw her at the beginning of the Hiss Spun tour and the songs were LOUD. It sounds great live.
I was fortunate she came through Chapel Hill. The live show was AMAZING. The whole place throbbed. Hiiiiiiighly recommend.
Well listening to anything in the loop means that you have some sort of psychopathy
@@crimsonhawk4912 wait what? People often obsess over music they like. Psychopathy is a bit extreme.

I love how genuine Abbie's excitable reaction was when interacting with Chelsea...me too sis :)

I keep coming back to watch this set, it's so dark and moody yet uplifting and motivating. I love her so much.

Chelsea sings the heaviest lullabies...
I’m see her tonight in New York City…super excited 😮😊
Why is it that darkness makes me feel so happy inside. Lovely performance Chelsea, as always
Allison It's the same for me. Darkness feels familiar, comforting and beautifully deep and tragic.
Because as Swans puts it: You Are Fucked Up...
