Scrap metal is always offered to be discarded at the end of the fight to be turned into the special ability. You can use this to keep a good build by just spending scrap metal when you don't get a good option. The game also gives you scrap metal more often than other items (through shops and level ups) to let protect your equipment better
@@Aliensrock I may be mistaken but I’m pretty sure cursed means that you are unable to complete your first action of your turn meaning if you were to use crystal sword when you were cursed as your first action it would not go through
@@sushicraft6155 cursed is a 50% chance for each equipment to fail, until one does. So there’s only a 50/50 chance that it would be the first one. The curse could decide not to trigger and instead just keep sitting there, waiting.
Yeah the further down you get the character line the more luck based that get(with the exception of the last one, he's probably the second best character behind the Robot)

Inventor and the next one are the two hardest characters; they're less luck-reliant than they feel but it's easy for things to fall apart long-term if you aren't careful, especially for next episode's character. She's by far the hardest to use well, though it can be so satisfying.
6:50 you could have 1 turned the 26hp squid by doing: 5 with the plasma gun+ 15 with crystal sword+ 3 with keyblade+ 3 with flamethrower For a perfect kill
I love this character a lot because there are so many micro decisions. Before *every* fight, you have to think about what equipment to put in. Do I put in something worse so I don't potentially have to scrap something good? And then, it is *possible* to keep equipment around and rely on it every fight, but it comes at a heavy cost of clogging up your scrap offers. I personally don't tend to like when you can just make something optimal every run in games like this :) But that's just me, I know some people just like to play to get ridiculous and OP runs. For me, the more trade-offs I have to make, and the less obvious the "correct" choice is, the better!

Enjoying this series! This game definitely has some fun mechanics and enough content in each character that you can just do what you find fun and still have quite a bit of gameplay. I wouldn't feel pressured to 100% complete it though unless you keep enjoying it as you go as some of the challenges are pretty tough and take many attempts
I really like this charchter as with alot of rogue likes it seems you can set up a strategy early game and just coast the rest of the eay but with this guy you actually have to think and be engaged the entire game
Nice to see you play a classic! If you're going to play "old" games, you should definitely give Knock on the Coffin Lid a try. It's a beautiful, and honestly very fun Deck Builder that has some cool equipment management and meta progression that really change the way you can play the game. I would love to see you play it :)
I’m loving all these characters more and more. But so far I loved the robot the most. This game just looks so amazing. And I hope for you to have fun making these videos. I two shot a boss with this guy with crystal sword, something that let me re-use it to negate the one time per battle, and a fury gadget. This effectively let me use something that you are only supposed to use once per battle twice per turn. I love this game.
Hey if you play a game as the thief and fight the alchemist on the second stage you can steal the bear potion and turn yourself into the secret bear dice for the rest of the run you should try it out.
I've never been more sad than when I saw him scrap the crystal sword. that scrapped is so OP for the final boss, especially if you have a second crystal sword to fury with.

Well, it's a roguelike. So obviously each run has to end in death or similar. And presumably there will be at some point a final-final boss. Maybe a car?

Inventor seems pretty nice but the super ability doesn’t really synergise. This is just a suggestion but I think if the super ability made the gadget into a permanent equipment (which takes up the same space as the og equipment used) would be really fun.

Its not really rng heavy as you get tons of equipment and a lot of it is good, you can also control what you lose and keep good stuff with yoi the whole run.

If you do a Bump on a 6, you get a 6 + an extra 1 die, then you can use limit break to turn that 1 die into a 6.

Getting a flamethrower+ then copying it for 2 24 damage hits in the same battle is one of the most rewarding playstyles in the game imo.
