I’d still hate playing inventor, and sometimes with inventor you get left with an unwinnable build for an enemy because you took a route that leads to a ton of your equipment getting scrapped.
Yeah, the episodic system means that each playthrough has one gimmick, which is usually straightforward enough to understand (this is probably the most complex episode in the game, except maybe Robot 3). As opposed to there being 20 levels of cascading difficulties on top of each other!
To answer your question about Super Enemies- all the super enemies have more HP and some sort of change that enhances their gimmick and makes them more dangerous, by about a level. For instance, regular Marshmallow has two dice and only one fire and one ice equipment; Super Marshmallow gets one more die and has two of both fire and ice equipment. This makes it more likely that they deal a bunch more damage and their status effects to you, turning what is usually a Level 2 enemy into a Level 3 enemy. Some Super Enemies get more equipment, some get more dice, some get different equipment entirely that still fits the theme. The more you play, the more familiar with enemy abilities you'll become, and the more obvious changes made to Super Enemies will be.
Vampire just… Chillin like a villain, being immortal and stuff, then the inventor breaks in with a beat-up greatsword and a flamethrower, beats the ever-living hell out of them until the sword breaks, lights them ablaze until they are reduced to near-death, then the inventor rears up the stake and executes them with it. Awesome OTKO.
And, considering rounds are basically time itself for Turn-Based games, Inventor did all that in like mere seconds. Drake would lock himself in the coffin from that point on. The horror.

i do enjoy how often this game forces you to play worse/face difficulty without seeming like artificial difficulty. it's a good way to "save gamers from themselves" as we often automatically optimize strategy and make things too easy, and it takes the fun out of the game.

the grindstone can increase all item durability, even beyond 4 uses. And upgrading an item refreshes the durability to 4 uses. If you use the grindstone 3 times, then upgrade it to refresh its durability, you can get another 4 uses. With that, you can get an item up to 11 uses.
It is so interesting seeing tyler reason thrue the runs without complete information. Like for me in the difficult modes the first run was testing out what you can and can't do... like upgrading grindstone to repair it and get 3 extra durability...
Is there a way to get more than 1 Grindstone? Because if there is, that would be OP. Since the Grindstone increases all other equipment by 1, wouldn't having 2 or more Grindstones make it to where you can alternate between using one and another? This would allow the possibility of a sustaining Grindstone build. If the Grindstone only repairs non-Grindstone equipment, then what I said above is false.
I think that a gamemode similar to this, where equipment has limited use, but instead of upgrading making it stronger and keeping the limited use, upgrades would make an equipment slightly worse but make it permanent.
Well... Maybe the game code is to not let "grime stone" be repaired , and not itself , so even with 4 grime stones, only the remaining equipment will have the durability upgraded. (Suggested "nerf" if is not like that)
@@Narinjas You're talking about nerfing equipment as if you didn't see Tyler throw like 40 dice at the final boss of one video or get 34 6's in this one.

Would be interesting with the inventor to get two grindstone, and a duplicate. Duplicate a 6's till you have 1 use left on duplicate, then repair it back to full while alternating grindstones. Save 1 six for further duplicates and use the leftovers on whatever attack you want. Don't know how common grindstone is, but would be fun
"... because everything disappears so soon and this is kind of that on crack but it's just so much on crack that it loops around to being sober" That's a weird way of saying it but it just might be the best one
I like episodes like this, where the gameplay is harder yes, but it works with the previously established gameplay of the engineer. The warrior just adding a curse every turn is harder yes. But it doesn't feel fluid like the engineer or the jester did. However I don't expect the creators of this game to add on each characters gameplay fluidly like this forever.
Tyler! Something I figured out from playing the game myself is that there's an interesting interaction between the thief and the alchemist enemy. The alchemist enemy has an equipment that lets them turn into a bear. You can use that and turn into a bear for the whole entire game, and get bear-specific attacks. The bear is honestly really strong and I highly recommend you try it the next thief run you do.
