    This defendant reminds me of some of these delivery companies who claim they "attempted" a delivery but never rang the doorbell or knocked.

      Fed ex did this to me not to long ago. Here I am stalking them on the app to see where the truck is. I turn the beaters on for ten freaken minutes for a cake and I managed to miss them. I swear he ninjad his way onto my porch to leave that sticky 😂

      They do that because some homes have been flagged for claiming they never received their package too many times. If a house or environment around it doesn’t look safe, they can refuse to deliver it and they put a note on your door. Another reason, customers don’t answer the door fast enough. The drivers don’t have all day to stand there and wait around for the customer to answer the door which is probs the main reason lol 😂 they have other packages to deliver. Oh and some packages require a signature.

      @@P3rmissionD3ni3d Fed Ex is a bunch of douches. The pull this crap all the time. Also, a few years ago one of their delivery trucks t-boned my husband and I - totally their fault. They were HORRIBLE our car was totaled, they didn't comp us a rental or anything.. And then it took OVER 3 YEARS to finally settle, and they got off pretty easily at that. They have some sheisty crap like their drivers don't really work for them, they're all independent contractors so FedEx itself isn't liable for them. Un freaking believable. Sooo...yeah, they're definitely on my "Crap I could do without" list lol.

    So before she sued him he was trying to negotiate how much she owed him for his 'time', yet he had spent NO TIME doing anything, she offered him $50 and he turned her down, now he's realising that was better than the big fat zero he got in court ha ha ha.
    I don't believe for a second he came by because he would have started unloading the equipment while waiting for her to come home to remove the car but since he was never even there, that's why he never phoned her to ask her to remove the car...

    Outrageous! She should have never, ever parked in the driveway forever as long as there was a possibility that he could maybe possibly sort of show up sometime. It's completely normal to pay someone to do a big job and then not be around on a scheduled date. He clearly deserved to be paid to be an irrational jack*ss. 👍

    The defendant is full of excuses, excuses that lasted a whole year. Even if he did make a specific appt (which he can't really prove he made) all he or his crew needed to do was to get off their butts and go knock on the door to have the car moved. And he has some nerve at rejecting her offer letting him keep $50 for his time, but to return the rest of the money, considering he did nothing. Terrible way to treat his customer.

    • @MalloriaAnn
      @MalloriaAnn ปีที่แล้ว +4

      What I'm confused by is... had the car not been there .... is he saying he would have just started on her roof with the crew without ever knocking and telling her they are there? Lol that makes no sense.

      I have been a repair technician for 15 years and I cannot count the number of times the owner’s son or daughter was supposed to let me in but never answered the door. No matter now many door bell rings or how hard I knocked they couldn’t hear me through the loud music or the headphones or the pillow.
      It is completely believable his guys knocked and couldn’t get anyone. What is not believable is how unprofessional this guy is in the scheduling process and business practices and still be in business.

      These guys are professional roofers. They Looovvvee to do anybody's roof. Its their livelihood. Why would they NOT want to do her roof..?? It doesn't make sense. It is not easy to have a crew shows up and don't get to work. Its costs the roofer once, and costs him even more if it happens twice. On top of that...she goes on facebook and bashes the guy. This woman seem to think that her roof was the only thing these contractors have on their plate. She should have been made to pay him for time lost. Thats my judgement.

    Been a roofer for a few companies, you could have your roof replaced with snow already on your roof. There being a car wont matter you try and see if it can be moved but placing a few toe boards across the section and you hand clear it as you go. Even having to walk the materials too the roof by ladder is always do able. Bottom line this guy is nothing but excuses!! 😊

    I was a production manager for a roofing and siding company. This is what happens when general contractors use subcontractors. The subcontractors could care less about customer service as long as they get more work. Before I got there, there was a load of these types of miscommunications. I threatened the crews that I will stop giving them jobs before the one they have is done and confirmed. I threatened the material company that we will go elsewhere if they do not give me a delivery window so that I can communicate with the customers. It's not rocket science. I just asked myself, "what would I want as a customer..."

    • @billmoran3219
      @billmoran3219 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What ! Have you ever been on a wet roof? A roof also protects rain from coming inside of home. I’ve never meet a roofer who works when it’s raining or going to rain, maybe a flat commercial tar and paper roof done for quick leak repair and a steep roof residential temporary repair , but in general roofers work when weather is clear.

    • @TMS-pj7fp
      @TMS-pj7fp ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Bill Moran I'm not speaking about rain, I should have been more clear instead of just saying weather, I'm speaking about weather as far as Temperature. My husband is a contractor, done alot of roofs, he definitely doesn't work in rain on a roof. I mean that a lot of homeowners want to do roofs in summer because they think it seals shingles better than in fall or spring. I understand wet roof is dangerous and also laying shingles in rain is bad because mold/mildew can build up. I understand any moisture at all can have negative effects. If u have wet felt paper after rain, cover it with shingles while really wet it will mold mildew which will move to wood. I am speaking on weather, heat/temp, in NC.

    Lady already had $700 invested to get her roof done. If the contractor gave her a date and told her she needed the car out of the driveway, she would've had the car moved.
    On the flipside, a contractor wanting to make money isn't going to set aside an entire day to do a roof, then send his crew home when the customer has a car in the driveway. The contractor would be calling the customer. Not only would the contractor be losing out on the rest of the money for the completed job, but they'd be losing out on money from another job they could be doing that day, plus wages for the employees that went there to do the roof.
    Guy is a joke.

  • @dthomason119

    Here’s the problem with even the judges responses. He has to prove that he let her know her cars were in the driveway when he tried to complete the roof. A person has a right to park their cars in their driveway when they don’t know when a person performing services on their homes are coming to perform said services. To lecture the women on her “cars” being in the front yard is ridiculous when he didn’t prove he told her they were coming that day or even showed up. The biggest problem is, he could have sent her a text message to schedule a time and make sure the cars, if they were really in the driveway, are moved. The guy is lying like most contractors because he didn’t have the time to complete the roof due to over booking.

    Never have I seen a judge scream at a layperson litigant because they want to show evidence. Fair enough if he is rude, belligerent or uncooperative but not because he is trying to prove his point.

      ... what do you mean "because he wanted to show evidence"? When did she scream at him for asking to show evidence? The only time she screamed at him was when he was yelling over her which is extremely rude. It was very clear that she was only yelled at him because he talked over her.. not because of "wanting to show evidence" she literally tells him as she's screaming why she is screaming and that he cannot yell over her.
      Soo...? I'm just not sure how it confused you so much when she said the reason in the episode... and it wasn't that.

Adults are mature enough to admit when they are wrong, have the self restraint to not insult people or call them names, openly welcome opposing view points, and are capable of engaging in civil discussions without their egos being bruised to the point that they bury their heads in the sand in an effort to block out anything that might cause them to learn or grow. See the son, daughter and the alleged son's car that's in the way and instead telling the son, "hey if you can give your mom this message and if you can do me a favor. I'm coming on this day at this time could you move your car out the driveway so we can put the roofing material in the driveway."

    The judge going OVERBOARD yelling at the litigants is not necessary, as these cases could be solved in a calm, rational manner! I also have a real problem that when she gets upset at somebody, she doesn't let them show the rest of their evidence! She already decided the verdict, which I think she sometimes does before the case even starts, which is wrong!
    HOWEVER, there are times that I do totally agree with her! The case where the mother of the boyfriend hid his girlfriend from her parents, while the parents and law enforcement were searching everywhere for her, and really scared!!! That was well deserved in that instance!
    I also have to say that I actually was happy that she gave it to the defendant! He was a loud mouth bully, who kept trying to talk over her! I think that finished it for him! However, I don't like that she did not let him show the rest of his evidence!
    All in all, a boring case that went off the rails!

    • @MalloriaAnn
      @MalloriaAnn ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What evidence are you talking about? She literally asked them if they had evidence that would prove their case and they said no. They had no texts. No proof of appointments. He's literally just grasping at straws because she ruled against him... "Yeah but...yeah but!" She's done this a long time. Way longer than you have watched and no offense but she knows what she is doing far better than you do. She gave him a chance to show evidence and he had none. Instead having his wife back him which meant nothing.
      How exactly is she deciding the case before it starts? You might not understand how this works or anything... but some cases atw obvious in advance which party bears the burden of proof. Since she is a professional, she knows this but it isn't deciding the case prior to the start. It's just understanding the situation and know which party will have the burden of proof. In this instance it's him. Because she knows ahead of time that Plaintiff states a contractor has kept her deposit without doing the work. She knows that he cannot do that. Not unless the Plaintiff breached their contract. So by default she needs the contractor (defendant) to provide evidence that the Plaintiff broke the contract in order to explain why he is justified to keep that money.
      Same as rent cases where a landlord keeps a deposit. She knows before the case begins that the landlord by default will have to provide proof that they were justified in keeping the deposit. That's how this works. If he had provided ANY type of proof (other than his own wife saying "well he TOLD me what happened " because that is not evidence in any sense of the word lol not only is it possible she is lying but he could come home from work and just make up any lie to tell her for why he didn't complete the job today) then at that point the JM would have needed the Plaintiff to explain this, provide proof that refutes it, etc.
      And in the start when she says "what happened" and they tell their story...
      If she cuts them off to ask a question it's actually done for a reason. Not because she's just "mean"... she cannot let them ramble on for 10 minutes while she just makes a long list of questions she has, then when they are done, ask them each question when it's very confusing, no longer clear what point of the story this new information needs to be added to etc. That is why she does this. If she needs the litigant to clarify something she needs them to do it now... when its actually relevant and will contribute to the story. This is done not only to help JM keep everything in the correct order and time frame, but also because this is a TV show... she needs the litigants to explain their stories in a way that is understandable to the audience as well. Otherwise we would not remember why she's asking the question, what it related to etc.
      As for yelling at people for cutting her off... she is running this.. she's in charge... she cannot just have litigant spewing out random crap when it's not their turn, irrelevant, or when she is speaking. Not only is it rude when they do this but she needs to control the flow. She is the one who decides the ruling in the case.
      And "Blasting him on Facebook " is not evidence nor is it relevant. Like of course she talked crap on FB lol he didn't do her roof.

    The judge continuously cuts them off after every question. She asks question after question, and then says to the litigants don’t cut me off… Which they shouldn’t, but she is horrible with that she continuously and constantly cuts off everybody! There’s even an episode where she says to her self that she needs to do better with that.… She’s not doing better.

    • @MalloriaAnn
      @MalloriaAnn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She really only does that when they are telling her what happened and they are doing it poorly or leaving out important information. Which does make sense. It would be confusing for her to let them tell a story, write down every question she has while they talk and then ask them a complete list of questions that are now out of order and no longer in the same context as they would have been had she stopped them and asked the question when it was relevant. Litigants don't have that same reason. When they are yelling over her or interrupting her it isn't with a relevant or common sense purpose. It's because they want to keep adding information when their turn is done for the moment. She will go back to them they have to be patient. She is running the show here. She needs to control the flow. She can't just let litigants ramble on for an hour about completely random stuff that isn't related to the case.

      To cut someone off and talk over them is the PERFECT way to tell them that in your eyes they are not important and you don't care about what they had to say. I couldn't deal with someone like that, talk over me once and you can talk to someone else. Incidentally, they made a movie about Judge Milian, they called it " Old Yeller ".

    • @MalloriaAnn
      @MalloriaAnn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Patrick Chubey Well it sounds like you're passive, and afraid of confrontation if you wouldnt be able to interject when someone is wasting time by rambling unintentionally.. This would not be a good job fit for you unfortunately.
      It actually has nothing to do with telling the person that they do not matter but I'm not sure you get it... they actually don't lol. You're misunderstanding this situation. She literally interrupts people because she HAS to for this job. She does NOT do this in daily conversations with people so you don't have to worry about "dealing with someone like that".
      That is the point. She is not some jerk who uust cuts people off constantly. She does it because it's the best way to accurately and correctly do her job. If she didn't do it then she would actually be extremely incompetent and give unfair and unjust rulings because she didn't get the correct information or ask the right questions. These litigants WANT her to do this. 1 they don't know exactly what info she needs so it's helpful that she directs them and 2 it will provide her with the info she needs in order to rule on the case properly.
