Awesome man i remember when i had this bike as my first bike. I truly enjoyed it as it helped me learn to ride and gain confidence. Good luck and stay safe!
Hey Vinny, yeah the Ghost is definitely a good first bike as well as a good commuter as well. I’m way past beginner but I still enjoy riding this bike 😁
Right on Herbie, Running Naassttyyy🎉 You are a Bada**. Be safe Brother! You have truly inspired me. And truly appreciate your time and quality of your kids. My meaning the confidence to make a purchase. I will certainly mention your name. Be safe brother. If you ever make a jump to Herbies Garage merchandise I'm all in. Thanks Vern Shipe(Lee)
The fastest mine went was 72 on the speedometer. Even after the 36 tooth rear sprocket swap it didn't go any faster. There was less vibration and the gears were longer though.
Have you balanced your wheels yet? I think my bike got a little faster on top end and smoother after balancing the wheels. I only weigh about 185lbs, so that probably helps a little bit
@@herbiesgarage681 No. Actually now that you mention it my bike definitely needed the wheels balanced. It had a tiny shake to it but nothing major. I noticed they didn't mount the tires right. The little dot on the tire that is supposed to go next to the valve stem was way off. Thanks.
Thank you, This video will explain everything and if you are changing the jet you might want to watch this first. th-cam.com/video/rnwCTQ3WJbU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6HbXKIBf4MYzIBJX
Herbie, can you please tell me if the X22r and Ghost are the same? I mean, they have same engine and transmission but I see many videos showing g the x22r faster. You have both bikes so you should know. Thanks!
Hello Brandon, I don’t have the x22r, I had a KPR which is similar but not the same. I would say stock gearing would be different along with wheel size which could account for higher speeds. Also the fairing on the x22r will help lower wind resistance. The best person to ask would be Jerryhawk250 as he did have both bikes.
@herbiesgarage681 Excuse me Mr. Herbie, CH-OP-AAHH. I'm hesitant on buying the X22R. I'm a short rider, so, I don't know much about mechanics (yet). Are all sport bikes capable of being lowered using links? If I get the bike then don't fit, that kinda stinks the bag. Can you answer that?
@@brandonleca3765 no problem, you can always slide the front forks up which lowers the front end but like you say lowering links or sometimes a shorter shock can lower the rear. The Lifan KPR is a fantastic bike too and it has a low seat height, I’m not sure of the x22r seat height but you can compare on venom website.
Hello Chris, I’m not sure how much more top speed but I’m sure it probably gained a mile or two. But the main purpose was to try and maintain a higher speed which it did help some
If we ever have 70s style oil rationing again and national 55 mph mandates 250s would be all you need in a motorcycle and 350s like the Royal Enfield Meteor would be a splurge 😉
Honestly I haven’t had to order any parts for the ghost yet, just ordered accessories. The places I would try would be AliExpress.com, engtb.com, venom motorsports. Venom is a dealer and can get you any part that you need. I hope this helps, thanks
Mine is pretty accurate, I think like only 3mph off at top speed. You don't get much better than that even on Japanese bikes. It is a good first bike. In my opinion for a couple of hundred dollars more I would get the Lifan KPM 200 Fuel injected, water cooled, 6 speed transmission, better warranty and Lifan quality. The 200 is just as fast and probably faster than the ghost. Both bikes would make good first bikes though.

Thank you very much Lee, that was very kind of you! It’s people like you that drive me to continue to do this channel 👍🏻

@@thelagmeister my balance was way off on mine, so much smoother after though. Good luck with it
What size jet are running in the carburetor? Also, are you using the stock sprocket or did you change it for something else?
Great video?

When you replaced the carburetor jet how much more top speed do you think you increased.

Is it worth it for a first bike I’ve seen in a few different videos the the accuracy of the speedometer is consistently 5+ mph off
