    Thanks a bunch for the video straight to the point TY. I have a kmp 200 has 6 gears . 1st is pointless unless on a pretty big hill and 6th gear gets you to about 65-68 . Feels like wind resistance plays a big roll with these bikes 😅

      YW. That's good to know. I was so close to buying a KPR 200. Yeah, the wind definitely does. The day after I posted this, I had the bike at 72. I'm going to change my rear sprocket and hopefully get 75-80 out of this bike.

    It sounds real busy, one more gear would have been nice but maybe front sprocket resize would help.

    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, one more gear would have been nice. I actually changed the rear sprocket and the top speed didn't change at all. It ran smoother with less vibration and longer gears but lost some top end.

    I got mine to 80mph, but I wound out the 3rd and 4th gears on a straight and level run. Venom has been the best for these small Chinese bikes.

    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, I do like Venom. I recommend them. The fastest I got my bike was 72mph the day after I filmed this. 80mph is really good.

    Do you have to be mechanically inclined and do your own work on this bike or will most motorcycle shops work on it for you? I had one dealer tell me they don't work on those Chinese bikes.

    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would have to say yes. While you could take it to the shop, it's better to work on your own bike. Most of the time you need some basic mechanic tools. The Chinese bikes are ok if you take care of them. You really need to change the oil often in the first 1000 miles, make sure the valves and clutch cable are adjusted which isn't hard to do.

    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KM-ee2fo No prob. If you don't work on bikes, it's easier just get something from a dealership. I'm looking at getting a new Ninja 400cc right now.

      I have a lifan and all the work on it has been fairly basic. The most advanced thing was the valve adjustment, but honestly just getting the top cover off with little clearence is the biggest issue. I bought a ratching wrench that does odd angled and it sped my process up 100x.
      But yeah, with pretty basic tools and usually no special tools, you can do all your own work on these bikes. There's always a TH-cam vid that'll show you how to do it.

    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@domenik8339 The Ghost 250 has the same problem. There is no room around the valve cover. Basic tools and a feeler gauge get the job done. On a GY6 I can get the valves done in no time. Ghost 250 good luck. The flex head ratchet wrenches are boss.

      Yeah, it's stock. I think it'll hit 75mph after the rear sprocket upgrade. No prob. I've been building a big bore adventure 50cc(83cc) I was tempted to throw a 150cc carb on. I ended up buying a complete 50cc carb/intake instead.

      It's not bad. I think it weighs about 350 lbs. At 65 it feels safe. I just got the 36 tooth sprocket for the rear, so I should be able to get at least 75 out of it.

      The bike stock is geared like a tractor. The gears are way too short. You can go through a 90 degree curve or a roundabout in 4th. 1st and 2nd are almost pointless. Even If I revved out 4th during this run the bike still wouldn't have gone any faster.
