I think the Gen IV is a good middle ground between the micro rigs and a bigger rig like a Peacekeeper. One option for water on the rig is a 20oz Smart Water bottle. I run one in my far left pocket where your radio is. Fits great.
Good presentation. And best of luck with your buisiness. This is just me, but I'd move the pens and multi tool, add mini binos, more food, dedicated fighting knife, Altoids PSK, mylar blanket, ferro rod, map tool.
I love my Velocity Gen IV. About the only suggestion I have is that I like to make things as multi purpose as possible. In that vein, I use my lighter as my duct tape holder as well, why carry 2 separate items when one can do both jobs? Maybe you have a reason for keeping your duct tape separate that I haven't thought of, but I've gotten in the habit of wrapping a couple feet of duct tape around every lighter in my kit.
The lighter I keep on my body in my cargo pocket is wrapped in that fashion. This just happens to be the way that I have it done because I’ve never switched it over on this kit.
Always important to have survival gear in your chest rig instead of in a pocket or something, in case you need fishing hooks or a flint rod in a firefight.
Let’s say you’re not carrying a radio in the pouches or smoke like you have set up. Do you think 2 additional magazines would fit in one(or both, so 4 total) in each general purpose pouches? From the video and their site it is not clear.
Something that I learned this year brother....If those are high voltage lines behind you, definently keep your family and live stock away from it . The energy from those lines damage organic material.
@@EverydayCitizensTacticalHow is the dangler attached? Can you post a picture? I can't find a dangler with a big enough piece of Velcro to attach to the back of the Velocity UW IV.
The admin pocket is more designed as a plate bag.. many don’t know but this is nothing more then a plate carrier that is front plate only.. they make a small attachment that hooks into the straps and the admin pouch and allows for adding a plate ti this.. always amazes me that this is just the old mayflower that’s 20 years old now and people still don’t know this.. The only difference between this and the older rigs is the two small pockets on the radio and gp pockets.. other then these they’ve been the same.. idk where they get 4 gen from cause realistically it’s really just a gen 2 tbh..
The admin pockets are most definitely not a plate bag. Military chest rigs have admin pockets that are used for the same purpose and it is most definitely for admin gear, maps, papers, notes, or whatever have you that can fit in that pocket. If you need plates, you are wearing a plate carrier. It does all the same things as a chest rig, but protects you a helluva lot more and carries more magazines, unless you're using a belt with 3 or more magazines (which is incredibly unlikely).
Old skool, getting older, fatter, and uglier every day. 4 Rmags, 2 Pmags, Battle Dressing, CAT Tourniquet, Med Shears, Gauze, Med Tape, Canteen on belt, BIC Lighter in pocket, Good Compass around neck inside shirt, Good fighting knife on belt, Hand-held Radio, Pistol on belt, rifle with sling on shoulder. Weight... Any more than that weighs you down too much, and slows you down. But, if you're just out playing Rambo in the woods, carry whatever you want to.
I think it’s absurd to go willingly into an armed conflict with anything more than a Spiritus Micro Rig with 3 mags. Because if you’re gonna die, you should look like a tier 1 flannel operator while your perforated carcass is laying in a ditch with crappy drawers. Make sure you have your kestrel, laser rangefinder and a GPS in the $79 utility pouch. Because if you’re taking incoming fire, you’re definitely going to want to take time to range the target and dial in your Nightforce optic and take one precise shot. Everyone knows that watching your impact and implementing a holdover to rapidly engage a threat is for noobs, and you’re only an operator if you have your dope chart in your multicam wristband. Don’t be a poser. All those pouches filled with extra mags are for larpers. Your belt should have nothing on it except your sexy plastic holster for a glock with a red dot and flashlight plus 2 extra pistol mags you’ll never use in a fight. Never put any other gear on your hips just because that’s where you’re anatomically best equipped to carry a load. It doesn’t look cool. Everything, including your lunch, wet weather gear, prescription meds, land nav, and night vision, should all be on your chest rig. If it interferes with your reload in a fight and you die from it, it’s only because you didn’t spend enough money going to training courses where some washed up security guard yells at you about your split times and not flicking your safety back on fast enough while you’re rehearsing how to navigate the numerous pouches on your loadout. Get good.
@@Nomad320 All the space available for those plates is now empty. Here's a crappy analogy. When a blister is full of fluid the exterior skin doesn't shift around much. Once you pop the blister all the loose skin is free to move around in that drained space. It gets sloppy and gear flops around. The straps can't adjust to the empty space because that wasn't how they were designed. Pulling out the plates is a popped blister.
@@syntaxerrorsix3137 You talk how I talk, that's fucking sick, but yeah, while is true, it hasn't bothered me enough to not run it that way, but, I'll get a chest rig to see what's up.

I always carry a 1 gallon bottle of milk on my chest where I can reach it in a firefight. Very important if you get thirsty.

I’ve seen people run Trex arms tq holders and radio wing pouches on the loop panels on the back of the rig to free up more space.
Thanks. Just ought this rig and this info was top-notch.
Great review, you got water! LOL just ordered my v version of your vest!
Great to see you back brother! Well done as always! 💪🏼🇺🇸
Thank you! Glad to be back
How did you mount the hanger pouch? That velcro field is way to high and too small for it

Could that velcro kangaroo pouch hold additional mags??

Yep wrapping tools in tape/cordage is a solid tactic
Does That IFAC Pouch,
Unzip From The Chest Rig ???
This IFAK attaches via a Velcro panel (like most) and can be disconnected quickly with the swift clips.
are the pouches on the sides on the main placard sewed on or can they be taken off to put different pouches on instead?
They are permanently fixed to the carrier.
How well does the hanger V2 stay attached to the Mayflower? I plan to buy the pouch but I don't know if its retention is very good
There is Velcro on the belly side of the Mayflower where the dangler attaches. I have had no issues with retention.
Love the rig love the video.
I have the regular minuteman patch from fallout where did you get the subdued one?
The patch you see in this video is sold by us, which you can find on our website.
Great review!
No tampons? Or super glue?

I have seen multiple pictures of people fitting double M4 magazines in the far left and right pockets!

Any issues with the dangler? It doesn’t look like there a bunch of Velcro on the chest rig to secure it.
I’ve had no issues with it on a chest rig or plate carrier so far.

What retention system you rocking on the radio pouch ?
I use the adjustable bungee strap that comes with the Chest Rig. The standard over the top nylon pouch cover is tucked in to the pouch.
Is that a cell tower, forestry tower or something else in your background?
A power line

Can the side pouch fit a nalgene
One of the long skinny ones yes easily, the larger wide mouth ones, no I don’t believe so.

Because they lose all of their rigidity and become sloppy.
