The machine is probably cutting out details to overload. Try adding 30ml of silicone oil between the running belt and deck. This will reduce the friction and hence reduce the current drawn and so prevent an overload
Hi, I’m hoping you can help. We recently purchased the Addidas t19x treadmill and have had so many problems with it. Thankfully we’ve been able to get an engineer out to fix them within our warranty. The problem we have now is the ‘other settings’ asks for a passcode. The engineer had no idea what this was and tried to input the model number, generic idea of a password etc. with no luck. We want to get into the settings to try & turn the button volume down or off completely. I’d really appreciate the help if at all possible please. Thanks x

Wondering if you could advise... My Fuel 63 treadmill belt was slipping as I ran, so I disconnected the machine and adjusted the belt as instructed in the manual... However when I was about 40 minutes into my run the treadmill just started speeding up on its own to maximum velocity and only stopped when I removed the safety key... Since then every time I switch the treadmill on I just goes straight to full velocity without me touching any buttons, then cuts out and it just repeats the same sequence (Speeding up and cutting of and so on) until I disconnect the key!!! Absolutely baffling!!! Can you help ??

I noticed during this whole video your distance didn't increase. I am having a similar issue. I have a Reebok GT30 and the there seems to be something wrong with the distance dial. I ran for 10 minutes and it was showing I had ran 1km! which is crazy. I normally run at a pace of 6 minutes per km. Any idea what is happening here or how this can be fixed? As you can tell this is very inaccurate data and quite frustrating as I am training and need it to be right!
My trademill makes beep sound and doesnt work at all. The engineer came and said I would have to order expensive part from manufacturer and when I said ok lets do it he said they don't have it anymore.He charged me 50£ for visit and he had no clue what is broken as I bought another trademill,the same type and model,replaced the part he was talking about from the new one to the old one and it didn't work either. I used the new trademill sinse then but today the same thing happen to this one and it beeps instead of working. What to do? I can't buy the third one!

@Jon Isaacs, Chartered Engineer Hi Jon, I have a Nordictrack treadmill NTL 14119.5. I had to move due to the military, and when the movers assembled it, the speed is extremely slow. I can see that they connected two sets of wire groups from the top body to the motor's motherboard. However the speed is ridiculously slower. Any tips?
@Everyone, Jon, I figured it out. Nevermind, sorry. So on the motherboard, there is a plastic piece which is looks like a screw (white in color and hss a phillip-head, on one of the corners of the motherboard). This plastic screw sits on a small metalic transistor looking piece, and as I tightened or loosened it, the motor responds with increased or decreased speed. I hope this helps anyone else who had their movers accidentally mess-around their speed setting on the motherboard :).
I recall that there is a procedure for re-installing the android OS on those consoles but you will need to google it for details. It is a last resort however and you will invalidate your warranty if it is still covered. Often these faults result in a new console being needed - Proform are not very good at making their products repairable in a cost effective manner which is bad practise.
How do I recalibrate a Fuel ft94 treadmill? It is showing a E5 error code. Moved it from one house to another. Before moving, it worked fine. After got it set back up, wouldn’t work. Shows E5 on screen.
It is most likely to be a wiring problem - perhaps a wire has got trapped or disconnected. The recalibration procedure would normally only be needed if you fitted a new circuit board or mechanically disconnected the incline motor and lost the original height position reference data. I can't recall the exact recalibration procedure, but I think its along the lines of holding down start and incline up button together whilst you insert the safety key. Sole (Dayaco) are the manufacturer and they will be able to confirm the exact sequence for you. Best wishes, Jon
I have a proform cadence 500 and we use it without buying the ifit prescription,the problem is when you step off it after a few minutes it doesn’t save your workout we were doing someone from proform said something about recalibrate the software so I waited to learn how then phone got disconnected does somebody know how to do that.
Sometimes the sequence of buttons that you press is different between different types of machines and there are some cheap machines around that do not have any re-calibration facility. You will need to google your specific machine to find out what the exact sequence is for it.

Hi Stephen - this would require changing the factory setting for the front roller diameter. Usually this information is locked in software and not accessed via the recalibration menu. You would need to approach JTX for specific information on your model.
Hi Jon, Your videos are great. I’ve been learning a lot from them. I would appreciate if you could offer an advice on a treadmill that stops and starts again during workout. The panel still on during these events. Hi Sienna - thanks for your feedback. I can certainly assist and I suggest a remote diagnosis as being the best and cheapest option.
In my opinion, it is important to diagnose faults thoroughly as this ensures that the root cause of the fault is being addressed. For example, in your case it could be a circuit board problem and circuit boards can often fail due to overload. If you simply pay to replace the circuit board without resolving the overload problem (ie. the root cause), then it is very likely that you will soon have the same problem crop up again and you'll be back to square one. The remote diagnosis helps you avoid this situation.

This usually takes about 20-30 minutes and the video meeting can normally be scheduled within 24 hours subject to availability. Hi Ady - as I recall, the ZR8 recalibration is done via a micro button on the MCB (lower control board). You push and hold the button whilst powering up the machine which then automatically initiates a recalibration of the speed and incline.
Hi there, I have NordicTrack commercial 1750. I have a problem whenever I use my treadmill, it go incline to the max then go to the min incline. Even I stop my work out it still keep going to incline max and decline min. How to fix this ?
I have also replaced what is called the Negative Switch because wasn’t moving, but now the incline is acting crazy and staring up when it is reading 0”.
I need immediate help, if you can, please. I have a 2013 Horizon CT 9.3 Treadmill purchase in 2016. It has been used only for walking and that too very rarely. However, I have been servicing it regularly. Since a week it has started giving problem for the first time. While in use it suddenly stops and a clicking sound starts coming from the control board. After a few minutes it resets itself automatically and starts working normally but after a few minutes it again stops suddenly and the same clicking sound starts coming from the control board. The console screen shows a prompt "5 101 MI 02" and this happens again and again. I am in Canada and Horizon fitness doesn't have an efficient and effectively caring after sale service here. I don't know what to do to overcome this problem. Can you please advise as to what I can do to get rid of this trouble. Or how to reset my machine with regard to this trouble? Thanks.
Would You happen to know how (or if it is even possible) to run the calibration process on a BH G6421C? I had my main board replaced recently and the treadmill is too fast even at 4kmph setting, I suspect it has something to do with the motor sensor calibration and the board controller but not sure how to proceed. Any help/advice would be much appreciated, I've tried holding down the start/stop with various combinations but can't get it to run calibration.
HI - I'm sorry I don't know that specific access code. I always BH fitness to be helpful so perhaps approach them directly. The speed setting could be contained in the console software (via a service menu) or there could be a potentiometer on he lower circuit board (MCB) that could be used to adjust the speed. Obvious question, but is the treadmill set to miles per hour instead of kph?
@@charteredengineer Thank you for responding, I've sent a query to BH and I am hoping they will respond. I have tried switching the treadmill from miles to kmph and vice versa but have had no luck in sorting the speed issue. I'm surprised that there is nothing mentioned in the manual to guide the user on running the calibration function and none of the usual button combinations seem to work. All my earlier treadmills had a simple button combination that would bring up the calibration for the incline and speed. I've seen the MCB (one next to the motor) when the service technician replaced it but didn't notice a potentiometer on it. It is surprising that the service provider for the treadmill that changed the board in the first place doesn't know how to run the calibration. Hope BH responds to my query. Using the treadmill in the current uncalibrated mode is a no-go for me.
@@DIvadxat I agree. The technician should have set the machine up correctly. The calibration setting are not something you would expect the user to access which is why they do not generally appear in the user instructions. Good luck and please post about how it goes.....
@@charteredengineer After some tense arguments with the service provider we identified the potential issue. At some point the factory fitted motor 2HP was replaced (due to wear) with a new one that was a 2.5HP motor, but the MCB remained the same. This was causing the MCB to fail and speed control to be messed up. This particular model does not have a calibration function according to BH. The MCB, motor and speed sensor are intended to work as a set as per my understanding from discussions with the service provider. Now they've changed the motor back to a new 2HP motor and paired it with a brand new MCB and sensor. So everything is within specification. The treadmill seems to be working fine now, although I haven't used it for a long walk or run as yet, from initial impressions it feels like it is working as it should. Simply put, if the replacement motor was in-spec perhaps there wouldn't have been an issue at all.
Hi Ronnie - as I recall, there is a miniature push-button reset on the lower control board (MCB) on these Reeboks. The procedure is turn the power off, and push and hold the reset button on the MCB while you power-up and then release the button after about 3 seconds. The machine will start a re-calibration procedure. Be careful as there is mains electricity on the MCB!
Hi Jon, I have a nautilus t628 treadmill that speed display in km / distance but speed on running belt is running in mph. Is there a way to factory set etc, just purchased second hand and machine has had very little use, but was disconnected etc to transport. Thanks for any help as can't seem to find anything online.

I have tried to do this and it runs the sequence of events but yet the treadmill will not run at an accurate speed, it may be set up at 4 mph but your running at around 8 mph+ I'm finding no help online or through nautilus and it seems a shame to sell the machine for spares when I'm sure it should be a simple fix, but as I brought second hand from ebay I'm left with no other options but to try yourself again. I have a Nordic Track C600 it comes on it comes cutting off and it says Calibrating after it Calibrates I try and cut it out it still cuts off and cuts on the belt will move for 3 seconds and stops could you tell me what this may sound like Thank You
Sounds like a possible bad connection. Also an MCB and motor fault can cause the running belt to stop but usually this is not accompanied by a calibration. So check a the wiring first!
I have Gold Gym 430i. It was working fine until we started install of iFit app and phone died. Now the treadmill not start, even after hard resets and holding Bluetooth button down for 30 seconds. iFit customer service said I need a new console. I wish i never tried install of the iFit software. I feel like there has to be a way to factory reset the machine. Purchased this for $377, a great deal. They want more than $500 to come and install new console. Do you have any tips?
Hi Joe- thanks for your question. Check that the motor controller has power and check the wiring from it to the console. The console should be receiving more than 5 volts DC on the positive and negative wires of the harness. If this is the case then unfortunately I think you will need a new console. I have a pro form and the console will turn on, but then when I actually start it, it will work for some time (sometimes just a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes) and then the console will shut off (sometimes it will turn on again as soon as it turns off and at other times it will not turn on again even after an hour of leaving the treadmill on). The weird thing is, a lot of the time, the treadmill works just fine, but it has issues whenever I use it again after less than about 24 hours (I think). Does anyone have the same problem or could anyone help me? It would be greatly appreciated!

I have a murtasol folding treadmill. The step display isnt the same as my actual steps. So i dont think im walking as far as it displays. Can this be slowed down at all?

Hi - not heard of error 444. If it runs for 2 mins then stops it could be an overload. Check the running belt and deck for excessive friction and add silicone oil lube if necessary. Best wishes, Jon

Hi - try pressing and holding down the stop or reset button for 5-10 seconds. This should clear the message.

I have a Taurus9.9 treadmill and I'm getting the Error E7 message. There's nothing in the handbook to say what this means. Hope you can help.
E7 is usually either an incline error or a safety key error. Hope this helps narrow it down for you.

Likely to be a fault with the console such as a button not responding or a faulty console circuit board
Do these steps work on types of models. I have the 430i Airstrider
Sometimes the sequence of buttons that you press is different between different types of machines and there are some cheap machines around that do not have any re-calibration facility. You will need to google your specific machine to find out what the exact sequence is for it.

Hi Stephen - this would require changing the factory setting for the front roller diameter. Usually this information is locked in software and not accessed via the recalibration menu. You would need to approach JTX for specific information on your model.

I would appreciate if you could offer an advice on a treadmill that stops and starts again during workout. The panel still on during these events. I hear the same clicking sound it does when the running belt starts to move at the begging of the workout, repeating when the belt stops and immediately starts again. Any idea what it could be? Thank you.
Hi Sienna - thanks for your feedback. I can certainly assist and I suggest a remote diagnosis as being the best and cheapest option.
In my opinion, it is important to diagnose faults thoroughly as this ensures that the root cause of the fault is being addressed. For example, in your case it could be a circuit board problem and circuit boards can often fail due to overload. If you simply pay to replace the circuit board without resolving the overload problem (ie. the root cause), then it is very likely that you will soon have the same problem crop up again and you'll be back to square one. The remote diagnosis helps you avoid this situation.
I offer a live remote session which is priced at £49. For this, I will schedule a live video call with you where I will diagnose the problem there and then (with your assistance). This usually takes about 20-30 minutes and the video meeting can normally be scheduled within 24 hours subject to availability. How or where can we get details of recalibration sequences from? Is there a website where they are listed? I have a reebox zr8.
Hi Ady - as I recall, the ZR8 recalibration is done via a micro button on the MCB (lower control board). You push and hold the button whilst powering up the machine which then automatically initiates a recalibration of the speed and incline.

Hi there, I have NordicTrack commercial 1750. I have a problem whenever I use my treadmill, it go incline to the max then go to the min incline. Even I stop my work out it still keep going to incline max and decline min. How to fix this ?

I have a 2013 Horizon CT 9.3 Treadmill purchase in 2016. It has been used only for walking and that too very rarely. However, I have been servicing it regularly. Since a week it has started giving problem for the first time. While in use it suddenly stops and a clicking sound starts coming from the control board. After a few minutes it resets itself automatically and starts working normally but after a few minutes it again stops suddenly and the same clicking sound starts coming from the control board. The console screen shows a prompt "5 101 MI 02" and this happens again and again.
I am in Canada and Horizon fitness doesn't have an efficient and effectively caring after sale service here.
I don't know what to do to overcome this problem.
Can you please advise as to what I can do to get rid of this trouble. Or how to reset my machine with regard to this trouble?

I need help because I was changing the incline and took off the key and it keeps going up and down with the incline.
Would You happen to know how (or if it is even possible) to run the calibration process on a BH G6421C? I had my main board replaced recently and the treadmill is too fast even at 4kmph setting, I suspect it has something to do with the motor sensor calibration and the board controller but not sure how to proceed. Any help/advice would be much appreciated, I've tried holding down the start/stop with various combinations but can't get it to run calibration.
HI - I'm sorry I don't know that specific access code. I always BH fitness to be helpful so perhaps approach them directly. The speed setting could be contained in the console software (via a service menu) or there could be a potentiometer on he lower circuit board (MCB) that could be used to adjust the speed. Obvious question, but is the treadmill set to miles per hour instead of kph?

I have tried switching the treadmill from miles to kmph and vice versa but have had no luck in sorting the speed issue. I'm surprised that there is nothing mentioned in the manual to guide the user on running the calibration function and none of the usual button combinations seem to work. All my earlier treadmills had a simple button combination that would bring up the calibration for the incline and speed.
I've seen the MCB (one next to the motor) when the service technician replaced it but didn't notice a potentiometer on it.
It is surprising that the service provider for the treadmill that changed the board in the first place doesn't know how to run the calibration.
Hope BH responds to my query. Using the treadmill in the current uncalibrated mode is a no-go for me.
@@DIvadxat I agree. The technician should have set the machine up correctly. The calibration setting are not something you would expect the user to access which is why they do not generally appear in the user instructions. Good luck and please post about how it goes.....
@@charteredengineer After some tense arguments with the service provider we identified the potential issue.
At some point the factory fitted motor 2HP was replaced (due to wear) with a new one that was a 2.5HP motor, but the MCB remained the same. This was causing the MCB to fail and speed control to be messed up.
This particular model does not have a calibration function according to BH. The MCB, motor and speed sensor are intended to work as a set as per my understanding from discussions with the service provider.
Now they've changed the motor back to a new 2HP motor and paired it with a brand new MCB and sensor. So everything is within specification.
The treadmill seems to be working fine now, although I haven't used it for a long walk or run as yet, from initial impressions it feels like it is working as it should.
Simply put, if the replacement motor was in-spec perhaps there wouldn't have been an issue at all.
I wish to recalibrate my Reebok GT40s but cant find out how. Would you know? Thank you
Hi Ronnie - as I recall, there is a miniature push-button reset on the lower control board (MCB) on these Reeboks. The procedure is turn the power off, and push and hold the reset button on the MCB while you power-up and then release the button after about 3 seconds. The machine will start a re-calibration procedure. Be careful as there is mains electricity on the MCB!

Is there a way to factory set etc, just purchased second hand and machine has had very little use, but was disconnected etc to transport. Thanks for any help as can't seem to find anything online.

Hi Jon you helped earlier with giving me a link to the manual. I have tried to do this and it runs the sequence of events but yet the treadmill will not run at an accurate speed, it may be set up at 4 mph but your running at around 8 mph+ I'm finding no help online or through nautilus and it seems a shame to sell the machine for spares when I'm sure it should be a simple fix, but as I brought second hand from ebay I'm left with no other options but to try yourself again. Hi Jon I have a gt40s and having trouble with an E07 code and not recognising the magnet regardless on what I do any advise?
Could be that the magnetic switch has come dislodged behind the console. Also check that the magnet is still located in the emergency key

Sounds like a possible bad connection. Also an MCB and motor fault can cause the running belt to stop but usually this is not accompanied by a calibration. So check a the wiring first!

I have Gold Gym 430i. It was working fine until we started install of iFit app and phone died. Now the treadmill not start, even after hard resets and holding Bluetooth button down for 30 seconds. iFit customer service said I need a new console. I wish i never tried install of the iFit software. I feel like there has to be a way to factory reset the machine. Purchased this for $377, a great deal. They want more than $500 to come and install new console. Do you have any tips?
Hi Joe- thanks for your question. Check that the motor controller has power and check the wiring from it to the console. The console should be receiving more than 5 volts DC on the positive and negative wires of the harness. If this is the case then unfortunately I think you will need a new console. I have a pro form and the console will turn on, but then when I actually start it, it will work for some time (sometimes just a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes) and then the console will shut off (sometimes it will turn on again as soon as it turns off and at other times it will not turn on again even after an hour of leaving the treadmill on). The weird thing is, a lot of the time, the treadmill works just fine, but it has issues whenever I use it again after less than about 24 hours (I think). Does anyone have the same problem or could anyone help me? It would be greatly appreciated!

Hi - not heard of error 444. If it runs for 2 mins then stops it could be an overload. Check the running belt and deck for excessive friction and add silicone oil lube if necessary. Best wishes, Jon
