Great video nothing wrong with what you did thank you for sharing this. But I work for a company that I set up 5 treadmills a day and as well do maintenance and lubing belts. An easier more simple way is to keep the belt how it is and get this foam wand. Put a strip of liquid lubricant on both sides of the foam that feed between the deck and belt. Work it back and forth and that’s all you need. Do it once a year and take cover off to motor and vacuum out any dust or pet hair that might gunk up sensors and electrical components. This way you don’t have to mess with loosening the belt and readjust it back to normal because if it’s not perfectly back to normal the belt will start wondering to the left and right and then you have to keep messing with it to get it just right. Just my opinion but the way you did it will work as well! Thank you
This is actually very poor advice.. the lubricant is supposed to be applied to the deck, not the belt. Once a year for a silicone based lubricant is harly enough. Even if it just sits there with little to no use, the lubricant will evaporate in about 2 months or less… lubricate the center 10” of the deck every 30-40 hours of use. Lubricate Sparingly. A 1 oz bottle should last you two years. second point you make has good intentions, but is also poor advice. Yes, You should clean under the belt and motor cover periodically. But you should not use a vacuum near the control board or electrical components. The carbon inside the motor will also destroy a vacuum cleaner. Best way to clean out under the motor cover is with compressed air. Be sure to wear a mask and safety glasses when doing so.
@@champspec: What are you talking about? He literally says use the wand BETWEEN the deck and the belt. And carbon build-up is going to ruin your vacuum cleaner? GTFO 🤦
Except when their advice ends up destroying your investment... Ive tried to make my voice loud and clear on here, in hopes it will stop more people from ruining their treadmills. RJ could have a nice helpful video if he updated it with proper advice. Sooner or later the wrong person is going to wreck their treadmill and may, in fact, bring a case to his door.
@@champspec your voice is definitely not loud and clear. I could not even find another post by you in the comments section. Instead of spreading fear about this video, why don't you try explaining the right way to do it. This smells like an alternate youtube channel trying to corall traffic.
Ben Wall there should be a handful of comments that I left on this video explaining the proper procedure. Apparently Sole had taken the initiative to update their owners manual.... the amount of Lube to apply can vary slightly. Factors would he the brand and material of the belt, the size of the deck and belt, the climate and location of the treadmill, and obviously the amount of use the treadmill gets. From a general standpoint, i think about 1/4 of an ounce of silicone would be a good starting point if the unit has never been lubricated. Newer belts and decks have less wear, so they need less lube. One key point is that you are actually to be lubricating the Deck, not the belt. The belt will retain some of the lube, though. No way to avoid it. If you see the belt getting saturated with wet spots, you’re probably using too much lube or the belt is worn out. If its a brand new belt that this is happening on, you’ve probably got yourself more of an expensive clothes hanger than an exercise machine. Best of Luck!
@@champspec hey man. just read your comment. I was surprised that he used the whole bottle too. My instructions say "measure 18 inchs from the edge of the moter cover, reach under the belt approximately 4-6 inch for one edge. Squirt a line of lubricant about 1/8 inch wide and 15 inchs long in a "s" pattern perpendicular to the mother cover" - didn't plan on using a bottle. just a squirt. To clarify, the rest was ok? the way he loosened the belt and stuff? I need to lube it and nervous I am gonna misalign the belt and not be able to straighten it.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I was kind-of intimidated to to this because I didn't want to mess up my treadmill's belt. With your help, I was done in 5 minutes and the belt tightened up again perfectly. Your 5 and 5 technique is excellent.
NOTE: This product works exactly as described. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(!!) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!
Still read your manuals folks. F85 manual says apply PERPENDICULAR to motor cover and it doesn’t mention loosening belt first… possibly because you only have to reach under belt 4 - 6” in from belt’s edge and you do not need to apply lubricant at the center of belt. Read manual first, watch video afterwards. When lubricating some items don’t apply more than you need to. Also, the interval to apply for his treadmill is longer than my F85.
I've been avoided lubing (and therefor using) my treadmill because I thought it would be a long, tedious process. Thanks so much for posting this quick and easy tutorial! I used Teflon & Silicon lube from Treadmill Doctor because I've long since lost/misplaced the original tube from Sole. Glad to say the treadmill is lubed and ready to go!
Thank you. This was helpful. I recently self lubricated my Mijia treadmill. Since then, it has been slipping. The real reason was that the belt wasn't tightened properly. The method you describe to loosen and then tighten the belt was super helpful.
☆ THANK YOU ☆ My treadmill has been getting so hot when I walk on it and slipping when I run. I had no idea how to fix it until I watch your video on diagnosing a slipping treadmill mat and this video!! I don't have the money to pay someone else to "fix" it, nor to get a gym membership, so I am so thankful to you!! I've ordered some treadmill lubricant and can't wait to fix this myself 🥳 then get back to my running program!
Thank you so much! I just bought a treadmill and the instructions are just complete crap and doesn't tell HOW to lubricate the treadmill! This was extremely helpful! Thank you a lot...
I can't remember how long ago my Sole treadmill put up the sign "time to lubricate" and I ignored because I couldn't remember where I put the tube of lube and had no idea how to apply. I'm excited to now be able to do this. Thank you for posting!
Thanks RJ. This ain't rocket science but it's great to be shown exactly what to do. I wouldn't have done it so quickly without this brief tuition. I like the "side to side" bit.
Thanks man. Your video helped me get my treadmill today. I took my first run 🏃 and it did not slip anymore. I'l have to watch it again in the next eight years.
Hey RJ, Thanks for posting this video. It really came in handy. My Sole treadmill was acting up on me and I called Support. They told me what to do but in a way I wasn't really understanding, so that's how I found your vid. I did exactly the same thing and I'm back at it. Thank you, sir!
Hey thanks for the video. I do better with visual instructions than the manual and this was a great demo. Appreciate the time and effort you took to make this! Happy running
To Center the track, you should tighten the side the belt is closest to 1/4 turn and loosen the opposite bolt 1/4 turn at a time, repeating until the track Centers - not just tighten one side, as shown.
Matt Einsla, there are multiple things that can cause a loud noise. The most common reason is the bearings are going bad. Can you tell where the noise is coming from? Here is a video I did on replacing the rear roller. You can hear the noise my bearings were making: How To Replace Treadmill Rear Belt Roller (Noisy Worn Bearings)
Dang I didnt know it was so tedious hahaha. I used to just lift up the flap on each side and squirt some oil. I had my old one for 10 years hahah. I will be doing this though. Thank you
Only comment I can make is that some manufacturers have the belt tightening directions reversed. You did make sure to say that you should check the manufacturers directions but you know how people are. Overall excellent info and video. Thanks
Ok. Let me start by saying that you have a great instructional video, up until the 2:45 mark into the video, when you pull that tube of lube out. I realize that Sole(aka Spirit fitness) recommends that tube of lube for their treadmills. We do not.. Although they make great products as far as their treadmills, elliptical and bikes, along with supplying great customer service, this is the one area I think they seem to not be able to get it right at. If someone from Sole actually recommended for you to Use that ENTIRE bottle of lube, please send me message and let me know who it was and we will track down whoever is giving out that information... It's like nails on a chalkboard for me. The absolute MOST lubricant that anyone should ever use on a treadmill at one time is probably not much more than the size of a U.S. quarter(if you dispense it into your palm). And unless you have the worlds largest walking belt, that should be sufficient enough to get you through a couple months of regular moderate usage for one user. What you're actually doing when you over lubricate a treadmill, is you are going to make it have a reverse effect on what you're trying to accomplish. While the idea of applying lubricant to minimize unwanted friction between the surfaces, what actually ends up happening(probably during the first or second use) Is the lubrication will heat up and form itself into a gel-like substance which can easily get very sticky and messy. On top of that, the bottom of a walking belt is made up of specific types of fibers(in most cases) and can get saturated if too much lubricant is applied. It's like soaking the walking belt in water before installing it and putting it to use. If you used that much live and we lucky enough to notice that your walking belt has wet spots in it from being over-saturated and ruined, then you probably got off fault lucky, in that all you need to replace is the belt... Most people aren't so fortunate. As you will notice in some of the other comments left below, there are some people that began to immediately have issues with the electronics on their units. Normally due to motor controllers either getting wet from the excessive lubrication being thrown off the walking surface because it has no other place to go. Or sometimes it can lead to so much added friction to the now "sticky" walking surface, that their drive motor got so hot during use that it overheated and either failed or damaged one of the circuits on the motor controller. I'm glad I finally found this video, because I've had more customers than I can count that have told me about this video. I have had to personally replace, dozens and dozens of Sole fitness and spirit fitness Treadmill walking belts, drive belts, decks, along with expensive drive motors, and motor controllers because someone was told to use the entire bottle of lube on their treadmill at one time. Believe it or not, I know of three customers that were fortunate enough to have the manufacturer warranty their entire treadmill out because they over-lubricated their treadmill.. The rest of the customers have not been so fortunate, being left with hundreds to thousands of dollars in repair bills.. I realize you are just trying to help with sharing the knowledge that you have with others. And as I said before, you have a great instructional video going, up until the point where that tube of lube comes out. Take our comment here for what it's worth, as this is only our opinion. We have been working on treadmills and every brand of fitness equipment for almost two decades and work with all the top name manufacturers on a daily basis. We're also approved for warranty work with just about every one of them that do not supply their own in-house technicians. Sole does send this lube out with most of their treadmills. Every time we get the tube in the box, I recommend to throw it in the garbage. Not only is it the lowest grade of generic treadmill lube we've ever tested. The fact that they give you enough to use on half a dozen treadmills for about the next 3 to 5 years makes it very tough for a novice consumer to know how much to use for a given application. If I was to put in my .02 cents, I would encourage you to make another one of these videos, but with the correct amount of lubricant used under only the center 12"-18" of the walking surface. There is no need to put anything toward s the outside of the belt/deck; nobody ever walks on the edge of the belt. If you don't believe me, look at any worn out deck and you will see exactly where they all wear out. Aside from that, they lube is a liquid and it will dissipate with enough across the surface, rollers and belt with minimal use... Hope our opinion helps save at least some people from destroying their treadmill prematurely. If I could give your video half a thumbs up, I would.
It's right in their manual on page 24: www.soletreadmills.com/manuals/sole_f80_83_85_2009.pdf "Once the belt is loose, wipe the deck with a clean lint free cloth to remove any dirt. Apply the whole tube of lubricant onto the deck surface about 18 inches from the motor cover. Squeeze out the contents of the tube across the deck (parallel to the motor cover) in about a one-foot line, like toothpaste on a toothbrush. The one-foot line should be in the middle of the deck at approximately equal distance from both side edges of the belt. You want the lubricant to be applied about the spot that your feet would hit the belt as you are walking. This should be about 18 inches from the motor cover, but you may want to walk on the treadmill before loosening the belt to note where your feet land on the belt. If you mostly use the treadmill for running, the spot where your feet land may be different from walking. "
RJ The Bike Guy well It appears you have one of their original manuals. If Sole(Spirit) has not changed the literature since, I'd be amazed. I know for a fact and from first hand experiences(yes multiple), that is WAY too much lube to be using on any treadmill. I'm willing to bet that as soon as you used that entire tube on your treadmill, used it the very first time, your walking belt started showing immediate signs of lube soaking through. You can easily tell by the wet sports, especially along the edges and the seam(where the manufacturing lines meet). This usually can't be fixed once this happens and the belt and deck, in most cases, should be replaced asap. Now if you still want to follow these insure guidelines, do as you wish. After all it's your treadmill and your investment. Hopefully it's still under warranty. One test you can try on your own to see if your belt is sliding on the deck surface enough to not damage components pre-maturely is this: Set the incline to at least 12 degrees. Then stop then unplug the units power cord from the power source. After its unplugged, powered down and still at an incline, carefully step one foot after the other in the center of the belt and fairly close to the motor cover. Basically exactly where that that stripe of excessive amounts of lubricant were applied(per the guide in the manual). Make sure you are standing straight up and down to the floor(not the slope of the deck). What you are testing for is the amount of force needed to have the belt slide under your feet, as gravity does the rest. A new treadmill or a brand new deck and walking belt with proper tension settings should allow you to slide down to the bottom and off the end of the deck. I'm willing to bet that anyone with a belt that has signs of saturation or wetness will not pass this test.... Try it out for yourself.
Good film, very well explained. Did it work properly? I have a Spirit treadmill and I'm planing to lube it accordign to the manual. I know some of the Spirit and Sole engineers and they seem to know, what they're doing.
Fix Fitness LLC I just bought one last week and it arrived today. I Plan on putting it together tomorrow after I assemble it do I need to lube it? I have never had my own treadmill, I always went to a gym so this is all new to me. Is there anything you recommend me doing that the average person wouldn't do?
Sinatra Vapes you should not need to lubricate a brand new treadmill. If the treadmill has a belt that requires lubricant, it almost always comes pre-lubricated. Make sure to check with your manufacturer if the unit you purchased has a belt that requires lubricant, as some of the newer models/brands have maintenance free belts that don't require lubrication(supposedly?)

Your manual says use paraffin wax? Not silicone oil? Allen wrenches are usually sold in sets, and are useful to have anyway. Mine takes a 6mm Allen wrench. Yours may be different. If you have a Harbor Freight Tools near you, you can pick up a cheap set. Or check out Walmart or Sears.
It can be many things. Maybe the deck on that side is not lubed enough. Maybe the deck is cracked or worn on that side. Maybe the belt is damaged on that side or has some sort of dirt embedded on the under side. Maybe the sound is not the belt at all and could be the rubber cushions underneath.
This is what the 2020 directions are from Sole on the F63 manual. You can look these up on their web site which is where I got this info from. The instructions no longer say use the whole tube. But you can look them up for your particular model. There are changes over time and may have new sensors and or computer equipment. BELT/DECK LUBRICATION First, you want to clean between the belt and deck to remove any debris that may be trapped. Use a clean, non-fraying rag, t-shirt, or light towel. Halfway between the end of the treadmill and motor cover, shove the garment under the belt until you can grasp it on both sides of the belt. Drag the garment the length of the entire belt 1-2 times. Remove the garment. Do not lubricate with anything other than Sole Fitness approved lubricant. Your treadmill comes with one tube of “Lube” and extra tubes can be ordered directly from Sole Fitness or your authorized Sole Fitness dealer. You may also use a Lube-n-Walk kit that can be purchased through both aforementioned sellers. Keeping the deck lubricated at the recommended intervals ensures the longest life possible for your treadmill. If the lubricant dries out, the friction between the belt and deck rises and places undue stress on the drive motor, drive belt and electronic motor control board, which could result in catastrophic failure of these expensive components. Failure to lubricate the deck at regular intervals may void the warranty. The belt & deck come pre-lubricated and subsequent lubrication should be performed every 90 hours of use or if you notice that the deck is dry. It is recommended that you reach between the belt and deck to verify there is lubrication present, every other month. If you check and there isn’t any lubrication present, follow the procedure below even though the “Lube” indicator isn’t lit on the console. Otherwise, lubricate when the console’s lubrication reminder lights after 90 hours of use. Use the following procedure to apply the silicone lubricant: 1. Turn the power switch off and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet 2. Measure 18” from the edge of the motor cover; kneel down and reach under the belt approximately 4- 6” from one edge. Squirt a line of lubricant about 1/8” wide x 15” long in an “S” pattern perpendicular to the motor cover. 3. Repeat the process on the opposite side. 4. Plug the electrical cord back into the outlet and turn the power switch on. 5. Walk on the belt at a moderate speed for five minutes to evenly distribute the silicone lube. 6. If the “Lube” message appears on the console, perform the following procedure to reset the message: a. To enter the Engineering Mode Menu press and hold down the Start, Stop and Enter keys, then at the same time insert the Safety Key. Keep holding the keys down until the Message Window displays Engineering Mode Menu. Press the Enter button to access. b. Press the Speed ▲ button (or Speed ▼ button to go backwards) until “Functions” appears; press Enter. c. Press the Speed ▲ button until “Maintenance” message appears; press Enter to reset the lube message. d. Press Stop to exit Engineering Mode and resume use of your treadmill.
This is crazy!!!! Im listening to this voice without watching it and I feel like I know this voice.. This sounds like RJ the bike guy!!! I stopped and looked and it is him!! I didn't know he had a fitness repair video!
The squeak could come from a variety of places. Does it squeak when the TM is running, but you are not on it? Does it squeak as you land? Does it make a difference or you toward the front or back of the TM deck? Does it squeak when you incline the deck? Lubing the deck is always good. But I am guessing it won't get rid of the squeak. You might try called Sole Tech Support. They have been great when I have called.
Bare wood would not be a good surface for the belt to slide on. Actually, I think most deck boards are made of MDF. So I am guessing it is some sort of teflon or similar type of material that will hold up better. Maybe the sheet has lost its adhesiveness to the deck board. Maybe it is just a loose corner or something. You might be able to get some glue in there and stop the buzzing. If the other option is throwing the TM away, you can try removing the deck board and gluing the loose part down.
Thanks, the tightening method worked well. You’re a life savior. The company that sold me the treadmill wanted to replace the whole belt and charge me for it

I misunderstood. When you said slipping, I thought you meant the belt would stop briefly with each step. Please see my video on how to adjust a treadmill belt. You may need to adjust the belt slightly to the right. Also check to see of the treadmill is level. If it is slightly tilted to the left, the belt will work it's way left as you use it.

asterzaster1, not sure what brand of mat it is. I bought it at the sporting good store. It's 78" x 30". The TM is longer than the mat, but the mat fits under the running deck okay.
Thank you for answering my question! One more thing- Do you ever use the F85's folding feature? Just wondering if it works on a mat of that size or whether it would be hard to keep the unit from rolling off the sides.
+RJ The Bike Guy With the shirt, you should start at one end, sweep to the center, lift, go back, and repeat, so you're basically sweeping it all to the center, and do the same at the other end, you can then lift your treadmill and wipe away the residue and materials in the center, otherwise the stuff just gets pushed to the edge where it is unreachable, and will definitely be picked up by the treadmill. Awesome video none the less! Thanks!

holy shit it worked ! This treadmill may have been in the garage for like 8 years, thinking about junking it too. A simple cleaning the belt and lubing it, did the trick. I just ran on it for 20 minutes , thanks!
Just bought a new cheap " at home" treadmill adjusted the belt that was not centered. then noticed it was jerky when walking on it. Had put some of the lubricant under the belt when we first unboxed this. Now I wonder if I didn't put enough lube under the belt. It seems to run better at a higher speed. I did tighten both sides clockwise. Now I'm not sure if I should loosen it, add more lube then tighten both sides again.
1x question. yesterday my treadmill started smoking. now I lubricated it under the tread, reset the screen - oil - and cleaned the engine if there was dust in the front. do I need to do something extra? is it safe will it no longer smoke? thank you
I have a Sole F80. Can you tell me how to know if I have overtightened my tread tension? How many inches if any, shoukd I be able.to pull the tread upmfrom the.deck? I ask because my Sole.F80 treadmill when walking or running makes a sound with each step. I listened to see if yours made the same tight dragging noise while you were walkiing on it but your voice kind of drowned it out. I lubed it up the way you suggested and vacuumed under the motor panel the way Sole manual suggests as well.

☆ THANK YOU ☆
My treadmill has been getting so hot when I walk on it and slipping when I run.
May I want to running macin belt
Where did you put the lube? Hopefully you found it.
Thanks RJ. This ain't rocket science but it's great to be shown exactly what to do. I wouldn't have done it so quickly without this brief tuition. I like the "side to side" bit.
I thought you're only supposed to put a few drops, not the whole tube.
Thanks man. Your video helped me get my treadmill today. I took my first run 🏃 and it did not slip anymore. I'l have to watch it again in the next eight years.
Don't forget to rotate the belt 180 degrees and clean the other side, otherwise any grit goes straight into the lubricant.
Aaron G Isn’t he doing that with the t-shirt?
@@AttilatheThrilla he cleaned only one half of the total lenghth of the belt.
Hey RJ,
Thanks for posting this video.
Thank you, RJ. Due to COVID, I'm looking at treadmills for home use and this one is on my list. I hope you have been happy with yours.
Yep.
I hope you got a Sole! I've had mine 18 months and love it.
Good clear guidance..helped me sort my treadmill.👍
Matt Einsla, there are multiple things that can cause a loud noise. The most common reason is the bearings are going bad. Can you tell where the noise is coming from?
Here is a video I did on replacing the rear roller. You can hear the noise my bearings were making:
How To Replace Treadmill Rear Belt Roller (Noisy Worn Bearings)
RJ The Bike Guy My noise is in the front. It’s really loud.
Lubing might help. Also tightening up the belt also.
Any advice on how to adjust the belt properly, mine keeps moving after oiling. Plus the oil sign keeps popping up.
Thanks
Thank you for doing the video. I've had my treadmill for a year and I am going to do that to it and thank you again
While the idea of applying lubricant to minimize unwanted friction between the surfaces, what actually ends up happening(probably during the first or second use)
Is the lubrication will heat up and form itself into a gel-like substance which can easily get very sticky and messy.
It's right in their manual on page 24:
www.soletreadmills.com/manuals/sole_f80_83_85_2009.pdf
"Once the belt is loose, wipe the deck with a clean lint free cloth to remove any dirt. Apply the
whole tube of lubricant onto the deck surface about 18 inches from the motor cover. Squeeze out
the contents of the tube across the deck (parallel to the motor cover) in about a one-foot line, like
toothpaste on a toothbrush. The one-foot line should be in the middle of the deck at approximately
equal distance from both side edges of the belt. You want the lubricant to be applied about the
spot that your feet would hit the belt as you are walking. This should be about 18 inches from the
motor cover, but you may want to walk on the treadmill before loosening the belt to note where
your feet land on the belt. If you mostly use the treadmill for running, the spot where your feet land
may be different from walking.
One test you can try on your own to see if your belt is sliding on the deck surface enough to not damage components pre-maturely is this:
Set the incline to at least 12 degrees.
Great video.. I watch it everytime I need to lubricate my mother's Solle F80. Thank You for posting it
amazing!!!!!!!! I just bought a second hand treadmill today and I followed every steps or your video. thank you so much!
Thanks man . I had no idea how to do that when I bought my treadmill. To be honest I didn’t even know you had to oil the track

Thanks .my new treadmill is coming today ,from my husband. That is my birthday gift!
Very cool! Great weather for a treadmill! Here anyway! :D
It can be many things. Maybe the deck on that side is not lubed enough. Maybe the deck is cracked or worn on that side. Maybe the belt is damaged on that side or has some sort of dirt embedded on the under side. Maybe the sound is not the belt at all and could be the rubber cushions underneath.
is there a demo for setting the menu and various functions easy to follow
Big help since our treadmill has been used a lot since quarantining
Though before messing with the deck board, is the unit still under warranty? My treadmill has a lifetime warranty (along with the motor and frame).
Use the following procedure to apply the silicone lubricant:
Thank you very much, I figured someone would take me to the reset lube message in comments, you Rock. 👍

Do you have to lubricate the drive belt too in the motor part of the machine?
Hey RJ. Great vid. I've just adjusted my ole T-90 Horizon treadmill w/proper silicon lube using your vid. Thanks in advance for taking the time.
This is crazy!!!! Im listening to this voice without watching it and I feel like I know this voice.. This sounds like RJ the bike guy!!! I stopped and looked and it is him!! I didn't know he had a fitness repair video!
Great job explaining the basics of cleaning a treadmill.
This was so helpful, TY🤗
Great step-by-step instructions! Thank you!
Great vid!! How do you find how many hours you’ve used?
The company that sold me the treadmill wanted to replace the whole belt and charge me for it

ohh ok thank you for ur reply
Great information love it. I'll do that to mine tomorrow
I noticed a small tapping noise in the video when you ran it without being on it. I have the same thing happening with mine. Any idea what that could be?
The seam on the walking belt going over the rollers probably. It's very quiet, but being amplified by the condenser mic.

asterzaster1, not sure what brand of mat it is. I bought it at the sporting good store. It's 78" x 30". The TM is longer than the mat, but the mat fits under the running deck okay.
Thank you for answering my question! One more thing- Do you ever use the F85's folding feature? Just wondering if it works on a mat of that size or whether it would be hard to keep the unit from rolling off the sides.
asterzaster1 I tend to leave it down. But I do fold it up occasionally for cleaning and such. The TM doesn't roll that easily.
Thanks again!
Thanks!
That's when I was 2 and a half
Just a quick question, my belt it doesn’t move, do you think it could be lubricación problems, thank you

Yeah vacuum the dust.
are you using the entire tube for each application?
I have an older nordictrack treadmill. Underneath the belt is like a plastic belt, then rubber, then hard surface. I'm assuming to lube the bottom of the belt and not the hard surface?
Generally the deck is lubed. The belt slides on the deck.
@@RJTheBikeGuy yes I just looked. The belt moves, the plastic and rubber are stationary , thanks for the reply.
holy shit it worked ! This treadmill may have been in the garage for like 8 years, thinking about junking it too. A simple cleaning the belt and lubing it, did the trick. I just ran on it for 20 minutes , thanks!
@@slipnorris5882 Cool!
Thank you. You had the belt dead center but you were leaning on it and as you pushed yourself off, the belt slipped to the right.
I noticed you did 1 side. Do I not need to lube both sides? Like the bottom inside?
Lube the deck/belt. And you may need to tighten the belt a little.Check out my video "How To Adjust Treadmill Belt - Treadmill Repair".
This was very helpful. Thank you and God bless

1:52 if the goal is to remove dust, wouldn’t a swiffer be better? Swiffers cling to dirt, a shirt would just push dirt around?
The applicator does not allow easy spraying upward under the belt. Suggest getting some surgical gloves and just plaster the gel with your hands.
1x question. yesterday my treadmill started smoking. now I lubricated it under the tread, reset the screen - oil - and cleaned the engine if there was dust in the front. do I need to do something extra? is it safe will it no longer smoke? thank you
Smoking? That means your motor's gone bad. Replacing one with labor will be over 50% of the cost of the treadmill. Might as well buy a new one...
Thanks for the video. I now know what to do. My instruction book was very vague.
My treadmill is about 5 years old but doesn't have many miles on it, definitely under.5,000 miles. It feels fine but that dragging sounds concerns me. Perhaps it always made.that noise and I just don't remember. Thank yoi.
