I hate that Bungie hates Linux gamers. You'll get banned if you can destiny 2 running on the deck
you can technically still play it if you install Windows. I actually have it on mine and it runs fine I don't play it that often but I might to play the Final Shape
@@itzdcx7991Tchnically the steam deck consist of a hardware and software combination.
One could argument the steam deck isn't a steam deck when the software is removed, or the screen, or the casing, etc.
@@2greenify what tf are talking about....
@@itzdcx7991 I have been playing Destiny on my steam deck through geforce now. It plays fine even with the free membership
@@itzdcx7991about the technical definition of a steam deck.
Really wish game devs wake up and smell the coffee when it comes to supporting the Steam Deck. IMHO, they should focus on it instead of Macs.
I still play my Playstation Vita, 12 years later, it's still running on the original battery.
What do you even play with it?
i dont get how people enjoy those expierences still, 20 fps 480p graphics and shit
I play killzone on my vita still 😂
@@ProducedbyPDot Did you even own one?
@@rowanizback8903 Uncharted Gold Abyss, Killzone Mercenary, Wiped Out 2048, God Of War Series PS2-PSP, Metal Gear Solid PW, Little Big Planet. And A lot of other games. Sometimes, I don't feel like turning on the PS5 or Xbox.
He said GTA4 is the best GTA game. Man of culture right there :D
Probably because its about him
I moved out and didn't have my PC for 7 months. I loved using the deck. Geforce now covers the games that won't run on Linux like honkai and destiny
honkai... well, there exists a barley legal project that disbles its anticheat and makes it work on the deck and linux lol
@@iFlxy really? I'm interested in knowing what that is
@@Solokid404 I probably shouldn't tell you the name, because the developers are scared that too much attention gets attracted to the project if people keep doing that, so reply to this comment after you see it so I can delete it. Google search "An anime game launcher", it's a launcher that patches honkai to work on Linux. Remember, you might get banned if you're not careful enough.
This man is everywhere 😂
I was going to say the same thing. I also Saw the XDA guy too! I like them but where’s Jaime? Even my wife asked for him lol
Love it
I thought i was tripping
This was the perfect review for me. As someone that only plays CS when I sit down and want to play something, I was wondering if something like the Deck can get me to enjoy other types of games. Definitely looking at picking it up more seriously now. Thanks!
I own a Steam Deck OLED as well. I went the cheap route and got a 512 GB one from a friend that told me "Steam Deck is a problem because it monopolizes all my free time". I got a 2 TB 2230 SSD from the second hand market (sealed of course) and I absolutely love it. Not even the Ally X cannot make me trade my Steam Deck OLED. I strongly believe OLEDs should be present on all handhelds. Manufacturers should really think about OLEDs. Any game I throw at it (I even played RDR2) looks beautiful and plays extremely well. I am a big, big fan of NFS Porsche and I also did not touch it on my main desktop/gaming PC. NFS Porsche feels amazing on it. 10/10 would preorder a remake for NFS Porsche (even made by someone else other than EA).
I love my OLED as well and I'm hoping valve won't rush a steam deck 2 I want an actual big jump in performance for a steam deck 2
I had a similar experience. I couldn't play (most) singleplayer or slow-paced games at my desk setup. But I played on a Nintendo Switch once and it made me realise that I actually can enjoy these games, as long as I'm not at my desk. So I bought a Steam Deck Oled and it did just that. Amazing piece of hardware.
i gotta get a steam deck oled
I sold my 512 LCD for $350 after I got the OLED last Christmas. Very happy with it.
Same here I still have my 32gb LCD
I have the OLED and it was agame changer for me... Its great
Amazing, I am exactly the same as you, used to play single player games on console back in the day and now I'm just on the Apex and Finals competitive itch scratch on PC. I've got 4000 hours in Apex. I want to go back to enjoying the single player games as well as relive and play some old PS1, PS2, Gamecube and such titles. Trying to figure out what to grab between a Odin 2/Mini and Deck OLED. The Ally X with 80WHrs looks pretty enticing but mad expensive.
i sold my LCD and bought the OLED, great purchase as always.
I held a demo unit at best buy. It honestly felt good to hold.
I’m still rocking my LCD model deck I upgraded the storage to 512gb ssd. It’s a solid little machine. It goes everywhere with me to work friends homes or just sitting in my car. Yes playing heavier games will drain the battery faster. Lighter games will save you on Battery try playing road rash 2 lol
Powerbank
When I discovered you can watch Videos and Browse the Web in Desktop mode: This is SteamDeck After I Bust
I mean, it's infinitely easier to just do that stuff on your smartphone but you do you
Do you play your console or pc on your steam deck
It's one of the best purchases I've ever done. It's such an incredible device (OLED) that I legit can't believe some of the games I get to play on the go with fantastic battery life.
I switched to a Legion Go from the Steam Deck OLED. I really like the comfort and screen of the Steam Deck OLED a lot more, despite it being lower res. The only thing holding me back from switch back to the SD, is its performance and lack of windows drivers. I can run lots of triple A games on the LGO much better than on the SD.
If Valve were to release a better performing Steam Deck with newer internals, I would instantly switch. But seems it would take a year 2 before they announce a new model.
I don't physically touch the keyboard attached to my desktop ever since I got my first Deck. If I'm not playing lighter or older games locally on the Deck, I'm remoting into my main gaming rig or my PS5. My Deck is currently the quintessential gaming device after pairing it with a pair of AR glasses like the Xreal Air or the Viture XR Pro.
Such awesome put together by a relatable fellow gamer. I have often thought about getting into pc gaming with Adult life and it seems perfect way in
You don't understand how badly I want this but can't afford it
They make the usb port loose on purpose so it doesn’t break
Gran Turismo 4 on the Steam Deck?! Yeah now I have to get one
How long will steamerck OLED last since I want to switch my gaming laptop to steam deck
2.5-3 hours in a demanding game.
@@Spencerwalker21 sorry bro if my English skill confused you but I mean it’s lifespan like can its last for 5 or 6 years
@@navida2134 depends on the games you play but we're hitting the limit on triple a games now with Alan Wake 2 and upcoming ue5 games might struggle.
Wait my oled case dowsnt have that little extra velcro thing?? 😮
Mine too. I think it might be exclusive to the 1 TB Special Edition.
Its the 1 tb version. Yours probably 512 gb
The OLED is truly the best handheld available. I couldn't afford a new one so I browsed FB Marketplace for a while and found a used 1TB OLED with a dock for $350 (insane, I know). Didn't actually need the 1TB version and knew I could profit a ton, so I sold it for $630. Made $280. Then I found another OLED 512 for $430, which is the one I kept. Total spent = $150 (▀͡ ͜ʖ͡▀ )
dude I can’t get any sort of deal on FB marketplace, instead I got scammed
@@michaellopez112 There are a ton of scammers. Rule of thumb is ignore anything that offers shipping.
The Steam Deck changed Linux gaming forever. Wine, Proton, DXVK, even MoltenVK (the one tha translates Vulkan to Metal for the Mac) are developing ten-fold thanks to the Deck.
Valve saw this coming from Win8, now Win11+Recall is a privacy nightmare and there's no better time to switch to Linux.
I'll say this steam deck better than PlayStation portal
im happy to tell you tekken 8 runs great on deck
Good point you brought up about the competitive gaming vs casual gaming notice. I'm getting up in age so I've just about retired from competitive game outside of fighters. Been finding myself going back to casual game, so the stream deck seems like the right move for me.
Installing GTA IV on my Steam Deck as I type.
gta iv runs miles better on windows if you run it with dxvk
havent played a video game in like 10 years. Im not down to spend $70 on a game.
Linux just rocks ❤
How do I recover my SUDO password?
I think I used Steam Deck Gaming's video to reset mine. It's called "How to Reset your SUDO password on Steam Deck without losing your data" I don't think I can post links
I was shocked to not see Jaime but great video
I prefer Nintendo switch to it
89 dollar ? Come on your from the uk you can say pounds
Daaaaamnn
but can it play gta 6 when it comes out? thats the biggest question
We won't know until its release, but don't hold your breath.
it barely runs cyberpunk its going to be even worse for gta 6
@@TVCHLORDIt plays Cyberpunk fine. The newest handhelds probably won't run GTA 6 either. They're not THAT powerful.
No
We need Jaime.
Make ol boi feel welcome he's GOOD! He's just trying to keep us up to date.

The Steam Deck OLED is too expensive for an obsolete piece of hardware.. buy an Ally or a Legion GO instead, and benefit from a robust OS like Windows. Now you have an entire PC, undocked! If you want to pretend it's a Steam Deck and don;t want to deal with Windows, just tell the Steam software to run in 'Big Picture Mode' .. you can even set this to happen on device startup and basically never see Windows again. The entire world runs on Windows, it can be as duscrete of an operating system as you want it to be!
Those aren’t as powerful as a full fledged pc either. The steam deck is better in plenty of other ways.
@@SneakyCaleb Are you crazy? The Z1 Extreme chipset has more than twice the gaming capacity of 100% of PC's out there with integrated graphics, and then some! Meanwhile, the Steam Deck starts dropping frames from as early as Nintendo Gamecube emulation.
@@sunrisesunset1734 lol meanwhile the z1 extreme is on out getting around 20% more in real world testing. And battery life takes a massive hit. Look up some tests showing how it only managers 10-20 more fps.
@@SneakyCaleb Don't confuse yourself and others. The Z1 Exteme is getting at the very least, the same performance per watt as the chip in the Steam Deck and better, and as much as 20+ frames IF you decide to sacrifice more battery life. Having the choice simply can't be a problem. There are mental institutions for that, lol.
Asus is trash, don't blindly recommend them
This channel is dying
With 1.82 mil subs? Did you forget your crazy pills today?
@com.7869 Subs doesn't mean constant active subscribers. I wonder what's the real active subscriber numbers. It's probably much lower.
@jacobperez8921 yeah but you're saying that without any evidence. If you don't like a channel just say so instead of making stuff up. No need to be ret@rrds.
It's definitely dying. The logo is shit, the lack of content and when we do get content, it's lackluster at best.
Omg get Jaime back. Boring
buy a ROG ALLY, Legion Go, or a ayaneo instead for a real portable pc, the steam deck is weak
Remind me again how much are those? at those prices its better if you get a dedicated gaming pc or laptop. Steam Deck is the best value if you really want gaming on the go. Not to mention how fast Valve is updating its OS.
@@aleksiz15 rog ally z1e - $550 new @ bestbuy
Well yeah, if you want to sell your kidney for one.
@@aleksiz15 rog ally z1e is 550 at best buy
yeah those machines are more powerful than the Steam Deck but not as optimized as well.
The 1tb version with etched glass looks worse than the glossy
version
i'm just gonna stick with getting an OG Deck, not much use paying over 1k, just for what a slightly bigger screen that has anti-glare.
performance and that's just the same, plus i plan on having it docked most the time, so wont really notice the difference.
