Every time I hear people talking about Titanium, I instantly think of the SR-71 Blackbird. Built-in the 60's using Titanium because no other material would withstand the heat at that speed/altitude.
Bought using fake companies from Russia because they were one of the only countries that had the stuff. Even the tooling needed to make the planes needed to be specialised given it was made from titanium.
This exhaust looks epic. That Vibrant muffler looks the business too!
This is even more fitting, given Andrew's background (Aussie Air Force veteran) and his naming scheme for all the project cars being "JET-###".
The story of the Blackbird is awesome, to say the least. If you like books and haven't read it yet, I highly suggest picking up the book called "Skunkworks" by Ben R. Rich. As the name suggests, it's the story behind the famed "Skunkworks" division of Lockheed Martin, creators of the U-2 spy plane, SR-71 Blackbird, and some other really cool projects. I'm a military history nerd and spy/thriller novel lover, so I love that book, lol.
I know EXACTLY what you mean.. My GTR was themed on the SR71.. I have SR71 stickers too on it... and a matching number plate too.. if you can speak Japanese that is :P

Andrew, Great fun spending a little private time with you today.
You'll need ear plugs for a Ti exhaust on a modified RB. They sound so crisp but can leave your ears ringing. I have the Tomei Ti system on both my stock R32 and modified R34.
Just depends on how the Ti exhaust is designed, mufflers etc.
You can build/buy an exhaust that doesn't leave you with tinnitus.

gotta at very least purge those welds, even better, purge + trailing sheild torch for Ti work. Love the aussie way though. haha just bang er up and together and get to those times and power numbers!!! you guys are awesome and the true epicenter of "RB" advancement. So awesome that its making its way over to the US now with PRP leading the way!!!!!!
Kinda of a crap 1st day for someone at the track, but thinking about it probably the perfect 1st day too see yes it can go wrong and yes at an ORGANIZED event the tees have being crossed and the eyes dotted!

I think you will find that exhaust was first used for Adam lZ. I remember him saying he got Vibrant to make a four inch muffler. I think it was for the R34. I could be wrong.

When they were scaled, I naturally read 25 and 60 lbs not 25 and 60 kg 😮 Vibrant stuff looks the part for sure
With your dump valve there you should have gone 3.5”. The Ti pitch is way higher in 3.5 compared too 4 (even more in 3”)

My exhaust setup is identical to yours, and you could literally kick the exhaust barefeet haha.

When you did the first run i spotted some straps over your wrist, what do they do?

Edit: Nevermind. I see it comes as a kit with solenoid for switch operation.

If you want to justify the exhaust i guess it sounds different with one of muffler. Can't say that i need a titanium exhaust for the "different" sound..

Thought the same thing.... spending all that money on parts and labour and not back purging.
Don't worry about the inside the outside was barely shielded with like a #7 standard cup haha

Not trying to be negative but imagine building a 60k engine with a g45 and being scared to put more then 30ish psi in cos it might break. this is where jz is superior. Not bagging Andrew or RB`s but serisouly. Will be cool when Andrews build a full PRP engine with no limitations.

Congratulations for the stupidest comment of the day. There is absolutely no way a 1000whp full weight GTR is doing anything more than a high 8. Do you actually have any idea how much power is required to get a street GTR into the 7's

That's Shocking. Welding titanium without a gas purge is terrible practice. Very amateur workmanship there...
Yeah any Ti jobs we did was done in a fully sealed argon chamber. But I did notice he was just fusing it. Still could of done with a back purge in the pipe just for a stronger weld.
