The only player that has claim over Kobe as the Greatest Lakers is Magic, and as Magic said, Kobe is the Lakers.

Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Bill Russel, Bob Cousy, John Havlicek (I'm not gonna use Pistol Pete even though he did play a bit with the Celtics)... and you can also add players like Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce who were a damn good squad...
Ok, Lakers have better players but there are other teams with great rosters too... not to mention that just the fact that Larry Bird is there, in a matchup 5v5 he'd still take on the whole Lakers squad and give them a run for their money just cause Larry Legend was that bad a motherfucker... hahahaha...

Shaq was significantly better than Kobe in all three finals of their three peat. Compare that to magic, who was the distant best in the 1982 and 1987 championships, and an extremely close 2nd in 1980, 1985, and 1988. 1984 is the only stain of Magic's playoff career. Played in much tougher era with togher competition, he is better offensive player than Magic, one of the 2 or 3 greatest scorer this game has ever seen, without a doubt better defender than Magic and for me Kobe's titles are more worthy than Magic and if we are realistic Kobe is only top 20 player who spent prime years of his career i the terrible supporting cast. Kobe deserved at least 2 MVPs in his career, at least 2. Also Kobe has longevity, even if you use their MVPs and Finals MVPs (they aren't always legit and don't show always who is better), but Kobe played for this team for 20 years while Magic player only 12 years or something like that. I'm sorry, but we should also talk about longevity, not just fake MVP and Finals MVP narratives. Kobe has scored the most points for one fransize than any other playrr in the history. And he could have even much more if he wasn't injured.

Saying Kobe is not a top-five Laker is one of the stupidest things you can say. I’m so tired of the Kobe Bryant disrespect. It really does feel like people are trying to erase his accomplishments. Look Michael Jordan is the goat and I don’t think anyone that isn’t one of these LeBron James fans that are just obsessed with him understand that. And I’m not a LeBron James hater I like LeBron but most of the people that say he’s the greatest of all time don’t even go back to watch basketball the 3 decades prior. Do you have that to be like “who’s the goat Michael Jordan or LeBron James ” I think it’s so disrespectful to Kobe because to me LeBron has never really passed Kobe let alone Michael.
I’m sick of the argument being “well out of Kobe’s five championships he was only the MVP for two of them” Do you know who another Laker great is that some people say is the greatest Laker that also 15 championships that also had only two finals MVPs? Magic Johnson. Do we not give credit to Magic for three of those championships because he was only ate two time MVP winner? No of course not that sounds ridiculous if you say that about Magic Johnson then how come when we talk about Kobe in the exact same way with the exact same amount of rings with the same amount of finals MVPs do we hold that against Kobe but we don’t hold it against Johnson? I think normal sane people don’t, I think it’s these people that have agendas that conveniently leave certain things out of the argument because it’ll make their argument look ridiculous.

The person who creates this channel relies too much on stats, assuming that the "status quo" was the same in every era. Magic's Lakers played in an NBA with less teams, more talent on each team in the league, and more developed talent, because players stayed in college longer so when they entered the league players were better.
I taught statistics in high school. Stats can be made to say whatever you want. It does not make them right without context.
For example, how do you measure Bird's toughness and last second shooting?
How do you measure the impact Bird and Magic had on the NBA? They saved the league...literally.
Kareem was great and Dr. J was exciting, but the league was dying with those two greats. Magic and Bird changed that.
How do your stats measure that?
Like Jordan, Kobe needed certain teammates to be successful. Bird and Magic could play with anybody and make those teammates better players. How do stats measure that? Answer: they don't.

Even if they blow it up they’re getting a ton of value through trades. He did that as the only person in the top 10 to not play with others in the top 10 while on the lakers (some played with several at the same time).
To put him under players that never lead a team and could be replaced by any allstar, players who wouldn’t be in the hall without multiple prime hall of famers, and players that wouldn’t even make the league now is hating in context.

Rob Parker and Nick Wright seem to have some personal hatred for Kobe. If not for the love of sports, I probably would stop watching those guys. Their Kobe takes have been TERRIBLE. Rob I think downplays Kobe because he views Jordan as the goat and for whatever reason these people feel if someone is even talked about as being close they get offended and disrespect the player. As for Nick, he does the same but in favor of LeBron. The only thing Rob said that made sense is that LeBron is not top 10. But you can't say Kobe is not even a top 5 Laker when the man went to 3 straight finals TWICE. Won 5 rings in his 20 year career. Was a crucial second best player in 3 of them and the best in 2. He is talking like Kobe was a role player in the 3peat and never won again after that. Or was a bench player in all 5. IDIOT.

Kobe Bryant is the greatest Laker James doesn't belong up there. Lakers made the right choice when they had to choose between Shaq or Kobe. Yes Shaq won a title in his 1st year with Miami. But that Heat team with the exception of Wade. Had a really good team especially when Shaq came over when Mourning had to take a back seat due to his health. But Kobe ended up winning 2 out of 3 straight NBA Finals with a couple of the players. Miami sent over for Shaq. Trading for Pau,then after winning the championship over the Magic letting Trevor Ariza go. So that Kobe can get Ron Artest to become a more dominant defensive team and get revenge on The Celtics was genius. Kobe Bryant will always have bragging rights over Shaq. He tied Shaq and when they beat Orlando. But Kobe Bryant put the Icing on the cake by not only getting the 5th Ring but he and his squad did it against the most hated team the Lakers will always be rivals with. The Boston Celtics. No one ever brings that up. I bet that Shaq would have love to have beaten the Celtics for a Championship. He only had one against the Lakers other rival from the East in Philly. But I'll bet that Shaq would trade the Indiana or New Jersey ring for a Win against the Celtics.
