I came here to say this. If you want to feed them something that's easy to get a hold of and a lot like bread, frozen peas are a great treat. Or torn up bits of lettuce are also good for ducks, lots of farm supply stores. Also sell duck feed. However, best idea would be with wild ducks. Let them be wild. Animals associating humans with food can lead to a lot of problems

Probably the thing that peeves me most about the pepper spray story is that Karen continued to chase after the poor girl to CONTINUE to spray her in the eyes. Even in the places it's legal, pepper spray is for self defence, not to try and permanently blind people and cause them as much suffering as possible because you're too stupid to put two and two together.

Honestly, I think this is why having a can should require a license. That way, people can be taught what self-defense is and charged more harshly for chasing people down.
That said, I am more concerned how easy it is for people to empathize with a woman holding pepper spray... even OP said "I dunno if something happened to her in the past" when, if we gender swapped it, the same (or similar) wouldn't he suggested.
Point is, there's so much about Karen's actions that are wrong.

I'm surprised to see so many comments about S3 saying Karen was so angry for no reason or that she was too stupid to notice the pronouns / skirt.
She did have a reason in her mind, she did take note of her clothes. That Karen thought she was TRANS.
Note that she kept calling the goth teen a degenerate, and then accused OP of being an apologist.
Goth's name didn't matter, the skirt didn't matter. Those things were just OP "pandering" to her. She 100% thought that girl was trans.

    • @arianalaiche-oriez9733
      @arianalaiche-oriez9733 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

Trans or not and whatever experience she may have had is still not a reason to react like that... The person was still and employee doing their job, men go in to dressing rooms all the time to clean up be they janitors or sales staff. Hell I am very much a woman and I go into men's restrooms all the time to clean its part of my job... I did it at theater I worked at, Wal-Mart if there was a spill and the restroom needed attention, I have done it as restaurants I work at for the same reason. In the history of the LBGT movement of the last 30 or so years I have never once heard of a case where the person on trial was LBGT assulting another person... never. This was a reaction of someone who didn't agree politically, religiously or philosophically with the life choices of another. Would Karen had done the same thing if a Male employee was in there cleaning? This was just blind hatred of someone she THOUGHT was less of a person than she was was. Regardless of whether you agree or not- GR was in uniform, cleaning and leaving to put away product after a rush- if you knew nothing else this was obvious- Keren flew into a rage over what she thought was a strangers life choices. Even the fact she was screaming for GR to leave but would not let her was the actions of a person who only was seeing what they wanted to and she was just throwing her weight around. There is no way any of her reaction was justified. Regardless of her past.

    • @_viridium_
      @_viridium_ 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +19

@@arianalaiche-oriez9733 I don't know if I'm misunderstanding here and you're just adding on to my comment, but from my reading of your answer it feels like you think I'm justifying her actions.
So I just want to clarify that's not the point at all. I was saying that this feels like it was driven by transphobia at heart. Wanted to point it out because it feels worth noting, in today's climate where transphobia is running rampant once again, that this has all the inklings of a hate crime.

Story Three: Using pepper spray on anyone without giving a clear warning is considered assault. It's meant to tenporarily blind an attacker, so it's classified as a chemical weapon. The only time you should EVER use it is if you're about to be attacked yourself. This stuff is regulated for that VERY reason!

In the US, cause it's State base, it's complicated. I'll mention that I don't live in this country, so don't take what next as gold. Of what I know, peper spray, as self defense, is legal. But, and the "but" is important : not any peper spray. There are concentration that need to be respected even for self defense. I've read a story where somebody used anti-bear peper spray for "self defense" (I don't remember the detail, but I have in mind that the reaction was a little overboard for the use of any peper spray ... like a big guy defending himself of an agitated small 100 pounds girls) and got in lot of trouble for that. Trouble like assault with an illegal weapon and aggravated assault with injury.

Mace and pepper spray are two different things. Mace is illegal in many states where pepper spray isn’t in all of them, still is in some places though so always good to check.. Still nasty stuff. I do carry it but I would never use it inside when many other people were around. I have it for when I’m walking alone somewhere, usually a parking lot. Basically It would only be used if I was going to do that or poke the person in the eye. Never a first resort, or possibly second unless the person was actively grabbing me. Granted I wouldn’t care if a man, was picking up clothes in the women’s dressing room, I’d probably assume he is a partner or parent. And if the person identifies as a woman, still wouldn’t care. They would be trying on clothes to wear. 🤦‍♀️

After I was attacked management decided to add it to our equipment, so I had to get sprayed again during training, and it was hell though the amount was less than what I was exposed to when I was attacked, everyone that I worked with was certain that I would be the first one to use it, if I was attacked again, but that turned out not to be the case, because of the pain that I suffered, when I was attacked, and again during training, I couldn't bring myself to inflict that kind of pain on someone else, plus I didn't wish to wind up back in the ER myself.

Don't pick it up, but keep an eye on it. If you see the parents attending it, then you know it's ok. If not, look to see if you can find a nest with the same type of birds in it.

I worked for a big media house in customer service. We were completely separate from both the newspaper ads department and the actual journalists writing articles, there's a clear boundary. The only thing we do is handle subscriptions and bills.
However, everyone had gone to lunch just minutes earlier and I was the only one scrambling to finish a newspaper subscription case one minute before my lunch break, when I heard the doorbell. After me opening, in stormed an elderly couple, where the husband screamed at me "I'LL BE GODDAMNED IF I HAVE TO USE THAT DAMN INTERNET TO PUT IN AN AD!!! HAND ME A PHYSICAL FORM TO FILL OUT!"
Usually the ad department would handle this but the couple arrived exactly when everyone had left for lunch. I sort of panicked and just handled them an empty A4 paper for the elderly man to write his ad. I was sort of trembling the whole time, both from "oh god how do I handle this" and extremely low blood sugar, not having had the time to eat even a small snack up until then.
Then he went on a 20 minute rant about how the sports articles were "so bad and full of gossip", while standing very close to my face, spitting while talking (covid times so not very nice). I luckily managed to usher them out after what seemed to be an eternity and by this point my blood sugar was really low.
Right after they left, my boss came in and asked me why I looked so distraught. I explained the situation and she told me to take it easy and forward this to the ad department. I then went for a light sandwich snack on very shaky legs. After eating, I managed to collect my thoughts for a while in a dark closet in the office and went back to work. Some customers are just so... INTENSE.

Civilians can also use it if they’re being chased by a person who has ill intent, but only if the perpetrator doesn’t listen to a warning.

I mean, it can be frustrating (particularly in the context of the covid where everything has change quickly and you get out of your habit and some was feeling more than other the "lost" of freedom). But, everybody, I thought, has a point where they feel that the fight has not enough value and when they reach it, they stop fighting. And for that kind of stuff, that at the end would have been an injustice but wouldn't get you nothing else than a little bit of satisfaction, the value of fighting should be very very low. Was Karen actually feeding the ducks in the parking lot? Way to get them run over by a car. 😜

    Story 2:
Did Karen think it’s “elder and disabled“ only? ‘Cause that’s my initial thoughts that would make *any* kind of sense.

This was almost certainly about Costco. During the peak of the pandemic, they would open an hour early for elderly or disabled shoppers. Costco also has outside vendors doing demos or sales counters and such, so yes, they need to be in the store early as well to prepare for the day. What I don't get is why Karen was upset. Even if the vendor was shopping, so what? He's not going to buy ALL the stuff. And Costco doesn't sell anything anyone can't wait an hour to get.

6:56 Two things: 1: You can be disabled but not “look” disabled. 2: You’re clearly not listening to what OP said. He’s a vendor.

Story 3 (pepper spray): gets me cuz i have been pepper sprayed and that shit hurts. I hope Karen got what she deserved after that BS. She needed a new bruise on her skull for assaulting a miner

Story 2: She didn't just accuse him of faking employment there. She also accused him of faking a disability to get ahead of the line.

Story 3: Brittany being a teenager isn't as much a problem for me, as the fact that she was clearly *not* doing anything to Karen. I carry pepper spray, legal version (certain types of pepper spray is legal were I live, while others are licensed weapons), as protection against tweens and teens from the local Catholic school, which has made attempts at my life. So I have no problem with spraying teenagers, or anyone else. But the point of pepper spray is to stop them from harming you, and to chase them off. When they are retreating, any excess use is illegal. The law in most places is that you are allowed to use the minimum of force to stop a criminal act, but nothing more. Karen clearly went beyond that.

I'd absolutely lose it on the pepper spray woman, Just hearing this story makes me totally rage. Attacking a kid because you're so transphobic you don't even know what a cis teenage girl looks like. Hope she goes to jail for a long time for assault with a deadly weapon on a minor tbh just wow that level of hate is deserving of a beating. ALSO MEN CAN WORK IN CHANING ROOMS SO SHE HAS NO LOGIC TO STAND ON AT ALL. I just so hope it's fake and so expect it not to be :/

Q: Why Karen was arrested at the Frozen Isle?
A: Cause she was disturbing the peas!
Q: Why Karen was arrested at the Toys Isle?
A: She thought it was the Frozen Isle, and was trying to pull the carrot from Olaf's nose!
Q: Why Karens are forbidden from Changing Rooms?
A: She tried to change everything in one of the room once, and tried to change the staff that oppose her!

This definitely looks like a classic transphobe situation.

Yep. I get misgendered since jr high so it's being difficult dealing with people assuming I'm a man.
