My favourite parts of that article is when he admits that he was still recently "tricked" into talking to someone underage and the fact that his brother hasn't spoken to him in several years. Come to think of it, Nikkie Tutorials recently uploaded a video in which she "casually" gives a shout-out to James Charles makeup products. I thought, "Oh no, you're part of his redemption campaign, too, aren't you?" That got me to unsubscribe from her, and a fair number of people in the comments said the same. I think Nikkie's viewer base skews a bit older and wiser than those of Brent Rivera and Jojo Siwa, so more of them recognized the problem with promoting James Charles. Incidentally, I had a coworker who went to high school with James and she said he was a self-absorbed jerk as early as sixth grade.

Yeah, a lot of the bigger makeup artists and some fans heavily praised the products, but you had other people complaining about the quality of it, such as the red shade staining skin (which.. idk, even if you give a warning about it (which he really didnt iirc) makeup products should not be staining skin unless its a lipstain lol)
@@ggundercover3681as someone who owned both the jc and js palettes, i can give an honest, pre-cancellation review. for jc: it was fine, average maybe. the matte shades were extremely dry though, and a little streaky and prone to getting sweated off. the shimmers could have had more pigment. what ultimately made me shelf the palette was the colour story, i found it just didn't really work for anything and the colours just didn't quite fit together at all. most of them were very warm toned which could work for some people. for js: i thought his eyeshadow was amazing, still do. the colours were fun, i had like 3 or 4 palettes. i fight demons that tell me to reorder it. but who knows, i am content now with some cbeauty palettes and pat mcgrath. his liquid lipsticks however were kinda dry. i suppose it held in place pretty well and didnt transfer much but the matte dry look kinda makes me laugh now. tldr; james' was dry, not the best pigment and bad colour story. jeffree's palettes were great but his liquid lipsticks are a little dry for daily wear.

I have often thought about this in relation to James Charles. Time will truly tell about these accusations. I've never liked James Charles. The way the article is written, it really felt like the writer was forced by whatever company/entity was paid by the PR team to write something positive about James, but they made sure to leave in some points that are technically not negative, but still critical of him

Come to think of it, Nikkie Tutorials recently uploaded a video in which she "casually" gives a shout-out to James Charles makeup products. I thought, "Oh no, you're part of his redemption campaign, too, aren't you?" That got me to unsubscribe from her, and a fair number of people in the comments said the same. I think Nikkie's viewer base skews a bit older and wiser than those of Brent Rivera and Jojo Siwa, so more of them recognized the problem with promoting James Charles.
Incidentally, I had a coworker who went to high school with James and she said he was a self-absorbed jerk as early as sixth grade.

Yeah, a lot of the bigger makeup artists and some fans heavily praised the products, but you had other people complaining about the quality of it, such as the red shade staining skin (which.. idk, even if you give a warning about it (which he really didnt iirc) makeup products should not be staining skin unless its a lipstain lol)

for jc: it was fine, average maybe. the matte shades were extremely dry though, and a little streaky and prone to getting sweated off. the shimmers could have had more pigment. what ultimately made me shelf the palette was the colour story, i found it just didn't really work for anything and the colours just didn't quite fit together at all. most of them were very warm toned which could work for some people.
for js: i thought his eyeshadow was amazing, still do. the colours were fun, i had like 3 or 4 palettes. i fight demons that tell me to reorder it. but who knows, i am content now with some cbeauty palettes and pat mcgrath. his liquid lipsticks however were kinda dry. i suppose it held in place pretty well and didnt transfer much but the matte dry look kinda makes me laugh now.
tldr; james' was dry, not the best pigment and bad colour story. jeffree's palettes were great but his liquid lipsticks are a little dry for daily wear.

I have often thought about this in relation to James Charles. Time will truly tell about these accusations. People have been soft on him, hesitant to apply the “pedo” label because he is himself young, but he’s not getting any younger. The (already bullshit) excuse of “they lied to me/I thought we were the same age” is not nearly so convincing or apparently benign when you are a 40 year old who’s been “tricked” by a minor-why were you so interested in an 18 yr old anyway???
