  • how to get the lock cylinder out of a GM without destroying it!
More 59 Chevy work going on here.
No Name Nationals 2024 will be September 19-21 2024 at Skelton raceway in Sikeston Missouri. This is an event for TH-cam content creators with at least 500 subscribers to their channel at the time of the event. This will be our 3rd year attending and the second as a participant. This year we may be driving two cars down. It's about 700 miles one way if we avoid the metropolises. This years project is another 1959 Chevy BelAir 2 door. This one was last licensed in 1969. It's been a parts car for several people, and that's before i bought it on the EvelBay years ago. This will be a budget build and we're trying to keep the original "survivor" look. The drive line will be similar to what could have been ordered from the dealer. The body will be all original paint for now. Lets see if we can get this car together and drive the 700 mile to NNN 24 in Sikeston! Hit that like button if you feel the videos deserve it. All comments are welcome If you'd like to follow along with the build, please subscribe

Thanks for the video! I didn't get keys with my 59 and so I purchased a new ignition lock with keys. So the only way to remove the old lock is with a key, that I can have made using the glove box lock? I guess if I have a key made, then I won't need to install the new one. Plus hopefully that key will also fit the doors?

@@CountryBoyGasGarage if all the locks are original they would be keyed the same and life is good. The locking glove box was an option. You might end up pulling a door lock. On a 59 that's easy too as the retainer is through the back edge of the door. You can pull the lock out far enough to read the code without removing linkage

@@NathansMoparGarage depending on the year of the car, the locks have a key cut code that a key can be made from. I have the resources to do that with the cars I deal with.
