on that second gear chug test up the hill... the RPM is hunting a bit from that lean condition in the pilot jet circuit. try that again once you richen what would normally be the air screw, and it should sound more stable and have even more traction.
I watched your video before pulling the trigger on upgrading to the pro 38 big air. Like yours, my bike ran extremely well in the low to mids while it was wet. Today, it was a bit more dry, so I could use higher RPM, and I wondered if something was wrong with my bike. I got home and remembered your video. I adjusted the power jet only .5 turns. I didn't recall you turned it over 1 turn. I'm going to give it a shot in the morning. Thanks for sharing your experience.
@@mxrevival In the end it worked amazingly well. It made we wonder what else might be left on the table, so today I adjusted the metering rod at BMRA. I realized the bike was lean, but the torque and power jets made up for it underload. Its an amazing carb! Again thanks!

I’m looking at Lectron for my Banshee 2into1 carb and your vids have made my decision👍🏼. One thing I would have liked to see in your video is what if you payed the bike down and how good it would start back? Glad you found the problem in this video.
Now you know what a lean bog is. Your low end could be a tiny bit richer. Idle hangs a bit. I always adjust mine to where you can hear it hiss off idle. Might take a tiny off the top but its worth it on the low/mid for sure.

Finally got around to it and said to hell with it I sent it back to Steve at two stroke performance and he found the floats were to high. And by to high it was not high enough to flood the motor but just high enough to splash fuel which I did find in the intake boot. So to my guess it would run fine on the stand but under load and moving around at high rpm it would splash more fuel into the intake and reeds and flutter the Shit out of the motor. The kehin is back on it and I road it for the first time on the track last week sense the crash. Hell yeah! And Bro I hope all is well and you get better soon these conspiracy theories are proving true for sure. Their all out to get us!!
This is actually very interesting to read. I did some more tuning yesterday and got the carb running even better. Ended up going a quarter turn richer on the rod, and quarter turn richer on the new torque jet. (these adjustments are opposite for anyone reading- richening a rod is clockwise unlike richening the torque jet or power jet, which is counter clockwise) Excellent power, excellent take off, excellent feel through the entire rpm. It’s running exactly how I would like it to by feel. The idle in general was spot on after my adjustments. The interesting part was that I noticed I could push up and down on the bike real quick (sort of shaking the bike) once it was idling and the idle would drop even further. Just a small amount, but induced by my shaking. Instantly thought of the float. I need to think about it a little further though to make sense of it.

What's the deal with the X-celerator rod? Its supposed to act like an accelerator pump? Do they come with the Pro series or an add on to both. I would like to see a video of one with and without.
Have you ever installed a lectron on a yz250 ? I don’t like the idea of not running the TPS & putting the CDI back to a 2d map instead of a 3d map. The TPS doesn’t just open the power jet it also advances or retards the timing based on throttle position. It advances in the middle & retards up top to protect the engine life. I don’t see anyone talk about this, would make for some interesting content if you done a comparison. Smart carb(with TPS) vs keihin vs lectron.
Did you figure out the hanging idle? I just put one on my 250x and it was stupid rich out of the box so I kept leaning out the rod since they say to tune that to get your idle. My bike has a decent idle but it’s sort of doing the same where it will kind of hang a little then settle down to a lower idle. I have not touched the torque jet, bike screams and lugs around just fine but still get a little pipe banging on a free rev
@dustins7191 Came here to ask this very question. Did you ever get yours dialed in? I just got a Pro and it has that high idle that eventually settles down but even then its not consistent. It'll rise and fall if you dont blip the throttle
Dang man, I want a rm250 so bad, every one locally wants me sacrifice my first born to buy their clapped ricky carmichael replica edition. I can't find a good deal anywhere
They are extremely rare, suzuki didn't make a lot of them and good reason why they are so much money. The suzuki rm250 is the best two stroke ever produced, it's a true motocross style race bike. $3,500-$4,500 is the average price for a decent rm250.
I cant turn my idle down to where i think it should be. It will slowly die. It seems pretty good everywhere else. I had a hell of a time getting it started, before switching between Amsoil Dominator at 32:1, to Interceptor at 50:1. It starts much easier now. Sometimes on the second kick. That improved the idle some, but not a lot. I have tried to lean it some, and just got bogging. Idk if i need to lean the rod and richen the power jet, but it seemed to bog down low too if i cracked the throttle. If im not mistaken, the fact it wont idle is a rich condition???
Since you’ve tried adjusting already, I would actually check for an air leak somewhere. I know you’re super mechanically inclined, so you probably already know how to do that, but if you don’t… spray carb cleaner around your engine while it’s running and see if you can get the idle to jump up. -Exhaust flange -Cylinder base gasket -Left side crank seal -Reed cage and intake boot -I have even had cracks in my exhaust pipe that were very hard to find cause similar issues so you can spray there too. I remember you did some cutting and welding. Usually the high idle is from things being a bit lean or an air leak. It can occasionally be caused by a rich condition. Going to do some more tuning online today to see if I can rectify my higher idle that drops in the video. Mine feels like it might be a little bit lean seat of the pants. But it absolutely rips everywhere else.
@@mxrevival it’s not like a lean high idle. It’s the lack of idle unless I turn it up. From my understanding, if it’s lean, it still idle high when turning it down. I’ve done some checking for leaks. I think I did around the pipe, and where it was welded. Does having a high compression head change how it idles?
So, I put it back to stock settings. I never went back to it after putting in new oil/gas at Amsoil's recommended 50:1 ratio. It idles pretty well now!
Do you suggest running vforce or stock Reeds with this carb? Really wanna pull the trigger on this for my 97 rm250, I live in Colorado so jetting changes get old for all my elevation changes
You can use any reeds you’d like. You can use stock, VForce, the Boyesen Rad Valve or even Boyesen reed petals on your stock cage. All of those methods will spread your rpm, range out a little bit, and make your bike run better. The carburetor will be another level up! Here it is, if you’d like to look at some more photos: www.mxrevival.com/product-page/copy-of-lectron-billetron-big-air-39mm-for-big-bore-two-strokes-300cc-500cc Thanks for watching!
Suckin the "Lectron D" ...lol..Charles I needed that today man! The RM sounds good...so the Lectron you have on it, pro? What would be the smallest motor they could be put on and not be to much do you think? A 175 to small? That would be pretty trick on my old IT resto -mod.
Glad I could help with a laugh 😁 We’ve got these carbs covered all the way down to 65cc’s. So the only hold up on the IT would be dimensions. I have a sheet I can email you, that you’d use to measure and write down your stock carbs dimensions. We’d use that to see if we can get a Lectron in there 💪
I installed a Billetron mini on my girlfriends rm100. On her first ride today it was great. It fixed a hard start issue and a high idle issue. She loved it.
@ourdirtthearpy thanks for the input man, RM100...nice! I'm going to be trickin out my old IT and hearing from someone with an older bike and how it worked out is good to hear. Thanks man!
The planedemic Ha love it that's a new one for me lmao 😂....Should do a comparison video on the lectron and smart carb I've tested them myself but have yet to do the pro series I'm not biased at all but most cases the smart carb comes out on top in most areas especially throttle response when your sort of lugging the bike on trails
that hanging idle means the pilot circuit is running lean. on a stock carb, turn air screw in till it stops that. if you get too rich you can best tell that on your cold start-up's. it should need choke to run good that first 5 to 10 seconds. if it runs ok with no choke, then you have the pilot circuit too rich. these two methods are far better than trying to feel roll on or the acceleration test to set the air screw. another tip is to increase the idle on your bike a touch and then adjust the air screw to create, and then get rid of, the idle hang. then go back to normal idle again. this will allow it to end up at a better mixture and also make it easier to tell what's going on.
Charles, nice to see you have "mechanical sympathy" ie you loading up the kickstarter to fire it up. You see so many gorillas kick straight from the top and wonder why their kickstart idler gears break teeth.
you will never beat a properly jetted stock carb, not even close. typical lectron shill. also notice how they claim this current gen of lectron is" insane! so good!" Then next year there is a new version and they complain saying the previous gen was unusable. lol
Richen the torque jet it's lean at idle always get low rpm jetting right first because it will richen every where above it

They are extremely rare, suzuki didn't make a lot of them and good reason why they are so much money. The suzuki rm250 is the best two stroke ever produced, it's a true motocross style race bike. $3,500-$4,500 is the average price for a decent rm250.
You said it, that’s the absolute truth. Gear boxes getting ready to fall out of them. Ha ha.
I have a billetron 38 on a ktm 150sx and it bogs when fast rolling the throttle, is that a lean or rich condition thank you
SmartCarb 2 is better?
Not sure, I’ve never used any of their products.
Just left a comment on the first video. I was right 😂
Fit check ✅️🔥🔥👊🏼🤘🏼
You already know dog!
Did you loose your taster and smell?
I cant turn my idle down to where i think it should be. It will slowly die. It seems pretty good everywhere else.
I had a hell of a time getting it started, before switching between Amsoil Dominator at 32:1, to Interceptor at 50:1. It starts much easier now. Sometimes on the second kick. That improved the idle some, but not a lot.
I have tried to lean it some, and just got bogging. Idk if i need to lean the rod and richen the power jet, but it seemed to bog down low too if i cracked the throttle.
If im not mistaken, the fact it wont idle is a rich condition???
I have the regular Billetron on a cr125. Feel better brother
Since you’ve tried adjusting already, I would actually check for an air leak somewhere. I know you’re super mechanically inclined, so you probably already know how to do that, but if you don’t… spray carb cleaner around your engine while it’s running and see if you can get the idle to jump up.
-Exhaust flange
-Cylinder base gasket
-Left side crank seal
-Reed cage and intake boot
-I have even had cracks in my exhaust pipe that were very hard to find cause similar issues so you can spray there too.
VForce ! 👍
You can use any reeds you’d like. You can use stock, VForce, the Boyesen Rad Valve or even Boyesen reed petals on your stock cage.
All of those methods will spread your rpm, range out a little bit, and make your bike run better.
The carburetor will be another level up! Here it is, if you’d like to look at some more photos: www.mxrevival.com/product-page/copy-of-lectron-billetron-big-air-39mm-for-big-bore-two-strokes-300cc-500cc
Thanks for watching!
You figure out the hanging idle.?
Going to ride again today.
@@mxrevival ok curious of what you find mine is doing the same thing…
that hanging idle means the pilot circuit is running lean. on a stock carb, turn air screw in till it stops that. if you get too rich you can best tell that on your cold start-up's. it should need choke to run good that first 5 to 10 seconds. if it runs ok with no choke, then you have the pilot circuit too rich.
these two methods are far better than trying to feel roll on or the acceleration test to set the air screw.
another tip is to increase the idle on your bike a touch and then adjust the air screw to create, and then get rid of, the idle hang. then go back to normal idle again. this will allow it to end up at a better mixture and also make it easier to tell what's going on.
Charles, nice to see you have "mechanical sympathy" ie you loading up the kickstarter to fire it up.
You see so many gorillas kick straight from the top and wonder why their kickstart idler gears break teeth.
I really love your term! Good one! Definitely like to make sure it’s locked into a nice detent before I give it the stroke!
amigo gosto demais dus seus vídeos 🤙✌️
I really appreciate your support!
❤
you will never beat a properly jetted stock carb, not even close. typical lectron shill. also notice how they claim this current gen of lectron is" insane! so good!" Then next year there is a new version and they complain saying the previous gen was unusable. lol
if you are making your gums feel itchy look into a mouth peice you could be chattering or grinding your teeth
Thanks dude! Starting to feel normal, with no itchy gums
put lectron on my enduro bike but its still slow, clickbait!
All of my clickbait is backed up 😘
Opening statements made it obvious that you have nothing of any value to say.
