When God made Lancaster County, Pennsylvania he was having a good day and he made Megan so she can share it with us. Every video she's happy, full of energy, and has a pleasant caring spirit. As for favorites from the mennonite stores in my area....the Pumpkin Woopie Pies are spot on! 🥧
Ken's Educational Joys is a MUST if you are a scrapbook or paper crafter! The variety of stickers there is amazing! We go every time we are in town (from Arizona) and I stock up. As a retired teacher, I literally still spend an hour or so in that store when we go! Love it so much!
OMgosh.. the Lititz trip is NOT complete without chocolate! So sad they converted the Wilbur factory to condos/hotel. Driving through town during production used to the best. But progress comes for everything. Just glad the chocolate is still available. The buds are the best. Lancaster County is beautiful any time of the year. Fun video!🎉
Thank you Megan. I recently went by bus tour from Canada to see Daniel so you know I was in the area. Loved the performance and the tour of Lancaster area. Your video was like a renewal of my happy memories of the trip. I especially remember the home made flavored pretzels and I brought home some Goldenrod Raw Honey... delicious.
I live in New Holland but don't get to explore the county as much as I would like. Love your excursions!!! So many amazing places here. We truly live in such a beautiful place!!❤❤❤
I live in Lititz! And for the past couple years, for our little family vacation, we've stayed in super cute Airbnb's in the Strasburg/Quarryville area and played tourist in our own area. The Strasburg Market and Agape have become big favorites, as well as Sight & Sound. I love that all this fun stuff is so close to home!
Oh Megan, the Market Place is one of our many favorites from our October vacation to Lancaster County. We are 6 hours away and bring a huge cooler over and stock up on meats, etc to bring home. We love Agape, we stay at the same place every in Strasburg every year. We spend our days traveling every road and visiting every coffee shop we can find. Cocalico Creek is to die for.
I live in York, next door neighbor to Lancaster. We used to live in Lancaster county, in Denver. I LOVE the many farmers markets in our area and think Lititz is the most fun town! I have been to the art festival, it was beautiful! Mt Gretna also has a great one, it is up the road a bit but worth venturing out! Thanks for taking us along! It reminded me of shopping with my daughter when she was young, tomorrow we are celebrating her 42nd birthday! Time flies, enjoy each minute you have with your family!😍
Hi Megan, I live in Lancaster County, but you took me places today that I’ve never been! Thank you, and I’ll definitely be visiting some of those places in the future.
I really enjoyed browsing around that grocery store when we went to Lancaster and the coffee was delicious too! Coffee and groceries go so well together 😆
I'm a local and I know all of these these places except for the coffee shop in Ephrata. I will definitely be trying that one out. Thanks also for the list. I agree... we are truly blessed to live here in Lancaster Co. Love your videos ❤
Will probably be watching again! My daughter and I are hoping that dad will be on board and bring us next year for her Sr Trip. We studied about Milton Hersey and really enjoy it so much that we decided we want to come out that way and explore! Will definitely look at all the info you have listed! Thanks!!!
I live in Lebanon county right next to the Lancaster county and I love it so much. We go down just to spend the day all the time it’s an hour away from us. Seltzer, sweet bologna is the only bologna that is truly smoked in a wood smokehouse anymore.
So wonderful to see the scenes of Lancaster, Penn and also across state border, all the places like Walnut Creek in Ohio (Mary from the White Cottage Co YT channel)! My late husband and I loved visiting these two states on frequent visits over many years.....thanks for the memories!!!
We had to cancel two trips this summer as my husband fell and hurt his back and has to use a walker. So I can relate. It's a great idea to do little excursions. Enjoyed the visit to the historic town. Tourist at home.....great idea.
I love this video. I hope you do more like it. We often visit Lancaster for my son’s archery competitions so I’m always looking for places to see. I would love more recommendations on coffee, food and shops to visit. Lancaster is such a beautiful area. We just love driving around too and seeing the beautiful landscape. You’re lucky to be in such a beautiful place!
I put up a ton of peaches this year. I did the vanilla peaches and some spiced peaches. Both are very good. I love to visit different stores and even if it's a little more there, I like to support places like that. We live in northern Florida and make lots of trip to southern Georgia. Lots of farm stands and neat places. Friendly people and just fun to do.
Nice to meet you last evening at NEXUS. It would be a pleasure to host your family and share the incredible family-friendly highlights in Columbia, Pa.
Thank you so much, Megan! My mom and I will Sight & Sound at the end of October and spend 2 days in Lancaster! I hope to purchase some delicious goodies, honey, quilts, coffee, and baskets.
I enjoyed this video. My GGGGGGgrandfather came to Berks Co., PA as one of the first Amish to come to America from Switzerland. Melchior Detweiler Was his name. I want to visit so I’ll be watching your videos on the area. I’m from The thumb of Michigan. Ps. My grandmother was Mennonite as I knew her.
My family and I go to Lancaster area at least 4x a year and we always drive past that grocery store, but now I definitely want to stop next time we're there! It does have that Erewhon vibe, but more Trader Joe's in my opinion. I actually think the prices aren't that bad. I live in the heart of the coal region of PA, where we have Walmart and like 2 grocery stores, and the prices are pretty normal what we see here in a place that has nothing, lol. We just love Lancaster and all the little side areas like Paradise, Bird-In-Hand, etc. It's such a tourist trap, but it still has that small town hometown vibe, a lot of which the locals pride themselves on maintaining, which is why it's such a beautiful place!
my husband is from Delaware. we are in Seattle. he misses his scrapple. when his sister comes to visit she bring him some. baylor is really lite skin like Evonne. You have to watch the over cast days. you will sun burn so easy... The boys had hats but the girls didn't. next year bring a small umbrella . It looked like everyone was having fun. and you made memories they remember. I love Evonne's Taylor Swift I know him... kids are so funny. WE all ways took all our kids with us. I "m glad to see you and Josh do also I wish I had a mennonite or Amish store close to me. but I don't
In April of this year I went to the quilt show in Lebanon which was awesome. I stayed at a hotel in Lititz and will definitely stay there again. It really is a nice place to visit. I love Bird In Hand. My favorite quilt store is there. So many shops to visit. Stopping at Abe's Buggy Rides is a must for me and my family. They are the nicest, it's like visiting friends. I live in Myrtle Beach but I enjoy my peaceful trips to the Amish country.
The Collingsworth family is coming to your County on this fall tour. The Southern gospel singers. The fall tour is classics and hymns. They are having under 14 yrs old free. We (my husband, my daughter and her family (6 children) and our son in law) went to their concert in Pensacola, FL, the other day. It's was so worshipful. Such a blessing.
Oh my goodness! When my brother and had left the Amish from Somerset PA, and moved to this area in May 2022, i came to this area without any job and Stoltzfus Meats/Amos’ Place took me right in! i also worked at their market in DE, for about a year. They sell top quality products!!
@@fr7800 Stoltzfus Meats is awesome! i called them my family, and still highly respect and recommend them! When God obviously called me elsewhere on my journey, (and looking back it was completely His plan!) the managers and i actually cried in the conference room when it was confirmed i was quitting, and then they laid hands on me and prayed. i grew so much emotionally and spiritually there, and left that company so different than i was when i started working there right after leaving the amish. Love the company and will still stop by just to chat with my friends!
We just moved to Pittsburgh, so we are basically still tourists 😆 We're definitely excited to try a lot of the local foods. I'm a little disappointed finding out though that it was easier to find scrapple down in NC than it is here - we love that stuff!!
I was just in Lancaster county today! I discovered the Once Mine thrift store in East Earl. Favorite stop. And Fox Meadows in Ephrata was recommended by a friend and was so good. Also stopped at the Shady Maple Farm Market. Always love Lancaster county ❤
A girls day out is so fun You can laugh meandering through The area looks great and very interesting Thank you for sharing your Mother daughter Adventure
Hi Megan. I'm also a Megan and from Northern lancaster County which you visited. It looks delicious. I love coffee too! I'll have to try that Strasburg market sometime. We didn't go on vacations this summer either. Nice to meet you! 😊
My parents used to live in Lancaster, PA. I enjoyed seeing places I recognized when I visited them. It’s such a beautiful area with so many awesome places to see. Thank you for taking us along!
Mmmmm, I just made some cinnamon-honey butter and had it on toast with selfmade peach marmalade. Thank you for the inspiration! That was so much fun! If I ever have the chance to go to America, I really would love to come to Pennsylvania, Lancaster County. The villages look so neat and cosy. And I spotted Schleich animals! A brand from Germany! 27:21 ❤
Sometimes it's fun to be a tourist in your own area- you get a different perspective on familiar places. Once in a while I like to visit an upscale bakery near my hometown (Great Harvest Bread). Like the bakery in your area, they are very pricey! They have the best cranberry orange artisan bread- it's so delicious with homemade chicken salad with grapes!
I grew up going to Holmes County Ohio Amish community as a kid, so many wonderful places to shop there. Now I live in Michigan near the Clare Amish community and although there's not as many shops or restaurants, it still brings back fond memories and love just taking a day and being a tourist there.
I love Lancaster County. I have been going up there since my brother and I were kids. As an Adult today My Parents and I still go up, get all of our produce from the stands, pumpkins, fall décor, shop and shady maple grocery store and treat ourselves to the Shady Maple Smorgasbord
I appreciate the list of places and your favorites from them! I live about 3 hours north of you and since watching you I've learned so much more of what Lancaster has to offer and I have been wanting to plan a trip and have been taking notes of these cool food, coffee, shopping spots! Enjoy the end of summer! 😊
Megan, you need to take the children to “That Fish Place” on Centerville Road in Lancaster. They have an in store tidal pool where they can pet rays and other fish
Hahahaha loved Vonnie saying “I know him” re: Taylor Swift! She’s so cute ! What a relaxing video and enjoyed sight seeing Lancaster County! So beautiful! Keep well ❤
Ohhh. I am now living in TX. But I went to school at F&M and lived in Malvern,PA. This video reminded me how much I missed the Amish markets and shopping in the Litiz Lancaster area.
Grew up in Littiz! I live in northern MD now but we are hoping to move back to lancaster county in the next few years. There is something special about Lancaster. I would love to learn more about menonite theology and daily life. And side note - I have experience as a virtual assistant, so if you ever are looking to outsource some of the YT work let me know. I love working with other like minded women.
Oh my husband loooves that ham loaf! You reminded me that I should buy some next shopping trip 😊 Another bougie little grocery store I love to go to is Lemon Street Market in the city! It’s adorable!
I live in NJ and love to go to Lancaster County. At least once a year, usually in October, I take the trip, sometimes also in June. I love Stroudsberg and Ronks and Liditz and the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre and the Bird in Hand Theatre and even the Magic and Wonder show, even though I am a senior and don't travel with children. It's just such a beautiful place.
Love when my worlds collide! Got to see the Savanah Bananas teams because my sister lives in Savanah. They used to have season tickets and they really put on a spread of food and drinks before the games! They gave up their tickets and regret it now. LOL So fun to hear you mention it! I met the owner - he wears a yellow suit and hat!!! Awesome guy!
I am new here! I will subscribe.. nice video. I used to live very close to Lancaster, Pa. I miss it! I live in Maryland now! I’m glad TH-cam brought me here! God bless. 🙏♥️
You live in just the cutest area! I'm in Rochester, MN where the Mayo clinic is and I feel like the town is just all about the clinic and there isn't much to do. Most of the residents don't want to go downtown where all the clinic traffic is. We have some cute towns along the river all about an hour away if we want to do something touristy I feel like we'd have to go to one of those. I'm always jealous of the cute coffee shops you go to and the awesome playgrounds you take your kids to.
Urban Southern is a quaint store in the village of Churchtown. You might want to check it out sometime. They make leather purses and some men’s items. You can watch the items being made as you shop. They also have a gift boutique on the upper floor.
When we go east to visit my husband's family we always spend a day shopping in Lancaster County & Kens Joys is a must go to! We just were there 2 weeks ago & I was so happy to find the one subject I was still needing for school (I homeschool).
What a fun video - thank you Megan! I'm up near Toronto in Canada, and of course, that is a major tourist area that we avoid at all costs due to the crazy traffic! LOL. My hubby proposed to me in 1997 at the CN Tower, and we both worked there for years, so now we are happy to say "been there done that". xoxo Vicky
I recently stayed in Starsburg a few weeks ago at “The Carriage House at Strasburg.” The market was right around the corner but I didn’t realize, until watching your video, how cool the market is. It is definitely on my list for our next day trip there! Can’t wait to be back in Lancaster County in October, my absolute favorite time of year to be there! 🧡🍂
We are planning a road trip to your area from the Orlando area, in early October. We are so excited!! We love Lititz- especially Wilbur's and Sturgis. We'll keep this video to refer to the shop in Ephrata. Our son Ken has Autism and he'd love to go pick out a new Bible and Devotional there. We continue to pray for sweet Fletcher and your dear family every day!🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Your daughter is so beautiful and your boys. They are adorable love watching your videos love that Mennonite store. Love your family. I’ll see you in the next video. Have a blessed Thursday night.❤❤❤❤
I haven't been to Lititz or Strasburg since maybe 5-6 years ago. This made me miss it. I am not a fan of scrapple. I am a huge popcorn lover though. What a nice family baseball game outing! That's wonderful.
SCRAPPLE! YUMMM We have scrapple in NJ. The best breakfast meat! I was in Lancaster last week looking for all the things (food, quilts, Amish/mennonite) and all we could find was the outlet😂. We have all that at home. I watched last week about your sweet baby boy. You’re in my prayers. I found myself at that hospital helping (supporting) my daughter deliver our 20 th grandchild this week. Can’t praise that place enough.
You must try Folklore in Elizabethtown! Probably the best salted caramel half sweet iced latte I have ever experienced. I am a travel nurse and love to try local coffee shops!
Totally love watching you and your daughter making wonderful memories. I was up you way two weekends ago. I took a few of my grandchildren to the Turkey hill experience. The did some Lancaster touring. I love coming your way. ❤
My favorites videos, by far, are the ones you share the Lancaster County area. I'm from Maine but Lancaster has become my favorite places to vacation. And the only other place in the nation I could see myself living! 😊
I moved to Lancaster City a few years ago and love getting to play tourist when friends and fam come visit! Always something new even for me to see and do. Latte Luv really is the best coffee in the county- need to try that toffee coconut drink! 😋
One year for our anniversary we stayed in a local hotel and went out for dinner, breakfast etc and pretended to be tourists in our town. Ive actually done this twice. It's really fun.

He looked so sad when you made fun of his breakfast! I like your donuts, Josh!!
Always love seeing you in the Lancaster & surrounding areas. So fun sharing mother daughter time with Evonnie.
Precious family...keeping you all in my prayers.
“Taylor Swift…. I know him!” Lol…..best line in the video. Vonnie, you’re priceless! So cute
OMgosh.. the Lititz trip is NOT complete without chocolate!
So sad they converted the Wilbur factory to condos/hotel. Driving through town during production used to the best. But progress comes for everything.
Just glad the chocolate is still available. The buds are the best.
Lancaster County is beautiful any time of the year.
Fun video!🎉
Hooray for Thursdays with Megan! Keeping your family in my prayers 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Oh my gosh!!! Kettle chips with cranberry chicken salad!! Headed to Aldi!! ❤😋
We love shopping here too!❤
Urban Southern is a quaint store in the village of Churchtown.
LOL. My hubby proposed to me in 1997 at the CN Tower, and we both worked there for years, so now we are happy to say "been there done that". xoxo Vicky
Thanks Megan! I also want to add Sarasota, Fla!!! My dad lives there, and we visit every year! You’ll have to make a list there too!..👍🙏🤗❤️❤️
Watching from Lititz! Sending your family some love!
Erehwon is just no where backwards. But now I want a trip to Strasburg. We haven’t been in about 8 years.
Just found your channel. Absolutely love this area. What do you think of the Green Dragon?
Love Lancaster, but too old to travel there anymore. So much too see and do
Thoroughly enjoyed thsi staycation. Have a wonderful weekend. Keeping your family in our prayers. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Lady finger popcorn is absolutely the best and now I have to make some of the scrapple with eggs
Another wonderful video from a wonderful family!!!
Absolutely love Litiz!! 👏🏼
We go to outback toys for Christmas shopping. 🤭
I have yet to go to Latte Luv coffee…. Next trip I must!
It was really fun watching you making days of going to the things our family goes to, except we go to Stauffers of Kissel Hill😊
Only a little bougie there!
My favorites videos, by far, are the ones you share the Lancaster County area. I'm from Maine but Lancaster has become my favorite places to vacation. And the only other place in the nation I could see myself living! 😊
I’m so blessed to live here! 🩷
I moved to Lancaster City a few years ago and love getting to play tourist when friends and fam come visit! Always something new even for me to see and do. Latte Luv really is the best coffee in the county- need to try that toffee coconut drink! 😋
I don't know what they put in there, but I'm all about it!
So fun to hang with you 😊. What books do you read ? What would you recommend ?
One year for our anniversary we stayed in a local hotel and went out for dinner, breakfast etc and pretended to be tourists in our town. Ive actually done this twice. It's really fun.
Tricolor is my favorite popcorn! It’s white but has a more robust flavor.
Everything looks so good! Your videos are fantastic!💕
I also eat chicken salad with chips but I also eat cottage cheese with Doritos chips. Who needs bread. Enjoyed the video. Blessing to you all.
