Practical kit, located in a practical place. On the hips.... Taking the weight until it is veritably unnoticeable, until you need it. Everybody likes to do things their own way, this one makes sense, and, on a slightly lesser scale regarding wait, I've been doing it for years. Add the big stuff to your back, you've got less weight, and you can go farther distances, to enjoy that much more. Nice setup.

Hey.. :-) I'm italian but the country where I live (El Nido - Palawan) is in the Philippines. This is a PARADISE. This is the correct word: paradise. In the Philippines is 7.107 tropical islands, beautiful sea and white sand beach. (this number is officially, by Wikipedia..) The life is very very very low cost. And the government not make problems for foreign.. (passport, visa, etc..) Is very simply.. I'm a "sea vagabond": I work on the merchant ships but from 3 years, I'm in stand-by.. I live in a little sailboats (8 meters) and is awesome. I'm free to travel. Relax, quiet, silence, slowly live inside the nature.. This is my life philosophy. I have 38 years old.. If you want, you can see my country (El Nido - Palawan) on TH-cam. Is very very nice. And if you come here, launch a sos light signal in the sky: you are welcome in my sailboat. Bye! :-)
Hudson Bay tin has a magnifying glass built into the cover. The round bit you see can be removed to reveal it and use it to start your fires. Beautiful work you make there
It's all too much. This could easily have been me ten years ago. I loved the idea of a utility belt and made endless combinations etc but it really is not necessary or even that good of an idea in the real world. The essence of Bushcraft at its fundamental level is about travelling light and you are loaded down with multiple redundancies of kit and heavy gear. Yor are entitled to do as you please of course but for me, at least a decent knife hung around the neck plus a swiss army knife on a lanyard in my pocket does me for the blades and for fire a lighter in the pocket and a Ferro rod + plus tinder in my possibles pouch does me for back up, admittedly I have similar bits and bobs in my cook kit too but that is in my backpack. I carry a small first aid pack separate to my possibles pouch and sometimes that ends up in my main bag on my belt on its own or more often than not in my possible pouch too. I also carry a small Suunto compass and local map in my pocket a small torch in my pocket and a Petzl head torch in my possible pouch. Other odds and ends like whistle and bits of strings are distributed in other pockets and places too.
Thank you so much for your feedback 👍🏻😁 I appreciate your opinion my friend and can easily understand your reasons to carry less gear. My video are for inspiration and to get more people to go out and enjoy nature.… and I’m sure you understand that 😉. Hope you’ll watch some of my other videos and perhaps subscribe to my channel 🤗. Hope you’ll have a great weekend ahead 🌤🏕🔥 Tom
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Yeah, I know! I think your gear load out is pretty good. A bit on the heavy side when it comes to storage solutions but they look good and as a fellow leather workman I totally get the appeal to create your own pouches. I was referring to presterjohn71 when asking about the ax. His load out seems a bit bare because with a small knife it's impossible to set up a real camp. You can cut down some branches but not thicker timber to make a more substantial shelter.

Glad I found this channel. I love the videos (not just bushcraft) were people take the time to setup the camera and get good shots of them walking through the forest or doing what they do. Its annoying to watch a vid were they just carry the camera everywhere or just set it up just to show the gear. A little production value goes a long way to making a better video. Nice job.
Thank you so much for your kind and positive feedback 😊 I’m glad you appreciate my effort to make great videos 👍🏻 My intentions is not to only make great Bushcraft videos but also videos that’s relaxing and enjoyably to watch 🏕🔥 So I’m grateful that you came along and joined me my friend Tom
Liked the first one. Second system even better. I am adding a leather suspender set to attach to belt helping to distribute weight. If you ever have too drop your pack for any reason, you'll still have a kit until you can retrieve what may be left of the contents of your pack. I live in a area of Bear, Cougar, many stream crossings, even Wolves are making a come back. I used to have people make comments on why I would wear a kit even on a Day hike. I would explain about being prepared for adventures nature at times decides to let you experience, and many times in the News you would hear of day hikers lost for days and worse. Plus it became what they called a Mans version of a Mary Poppins Bag. Guess why they call it a possibles pouch. Making your own version of your Kit is part of the adventure and seeing what you use and don't revising it , personalizing it. Thank's for the Video, Great Kit and workmanship.
Thank you so much David for your interesting, kind and positive feedback 👍🏻😁 I really appreciate what your saying and I can tell that we think in the same way 👌🏻😉 You live in a very different place than I but the universal language of bushcrafting is the same. I love belt kits, and yours looks wonderful. I love the leatherwork you do. My hands won't let me do much of anything now, but I can still admire what others do when they really do it well. Funny, but I think I carry just about everything you do, but mine is different brands. Just as an example, I carry a Silky Pocket Boy on my belt, or even in my pocket when I'm not wearing the belt. My med kit is also in an Altoid tin. I also carry a Swiss Army Knife, and use it often. It's on my belt in the woods, and in my pocket at home. On and on. I guess we all have the same basic needs, we just buy different brands of sizes of tools to meet them. My fire kit does contain a couple of things yours does not, primarily four Esbit tabs wrapped in petroleum soaked cotton balls. These are for use if I get in trouble, or if I'm just too cold and too tired to worry about starting a primitive fire. And I always have carried an alcohol burner, along with a folding stove that weighs next to nothing, folds completely flat, but that will hold the alcohol burner, will also work with the Esbit tabs, or even small sticks. Despite all it does, it's small enough and thin enough to slide into my fire kit, or even into my canteen cover. Sometimes I simply enjoy the small, slow fire of an alcohol burner. I'm never in a hurry in the wild, and I don't care if it takes twenty minutes to boil water. The same is true of Esbit tabs. Sometimes I just want to be lazy. Especially when it's raining just a little, and the sound of the falling rain makes me sleepy. I like to snug into a small shelter, set up the little stove, pop in an Esbit tab, and just watch the flame. This is even truer at night. I often don't want to light up the night with a campfire. I like the darkness around me, and with an alcohol burner, or even an Esbit tab, I can usually see animals I wouldn't see with a campfire that limits my night vision. It's amazing how close they come. The only improvement I can see in you belt is the med kit. Even an Altoid size kit will hold a couple of packs of blood clotting agent. Tourniquets can be just as dangerous as a wound. Often more so without serious medical training, and a wound can easily be in a spot where using a tourniquet is impossible. I've seen someone almost bleed out from a pretty small puncture in the femoral artery that was too high on the leg for a tourniquet to be of any use. Packets of quality blood clotting agent are cheap, weigh next to nothing, and take up almost no space. Two packets will fit in my Altoid tin, even with everything else I wanted already in there. In fact, I thought I had my tin stuffed full before I even though to include these packets, yet they still fit easily, right on top of everything else, which is where they should be. In a larger, main kit, I think a roll of gauze impregnated with a blood clotting agent is also a good idea, along with more packets. Anyway, cheap, weighs nothing, takes up nearly no space, and can save someone's life. Why not carry at least a couple of packets? Great video, and I really do admire your leatherwork. I don't think I could do it as well, even if my old hands still worked as they should.

I like the fact that you made most of your stuff by hand. That's an amazing ability and shows that you would survive most anywhere because you would simply build what you needed at the time and improvise and adapt as your needs change. I enjoy building things too but don't have the skill level you have. Mine look more crude but they work usually. Good luck with your stuff.

Practical kit, located in a practical place. On the hips.... Taking the weight until it is veritably unnoticeable, until you need it.

The life is very very very low cost.
And the government not make problems for foreign..

Is very simply..
I'm a "sea vagabond":
I work on the merchant ships but from 3 years, I'm in stand-by..

Hope you’ll have a great weekend ahead 🌤🏕🔥

My man. Where's is your ax? The fundamentally most important tool ever made.
I have a small axe 🪓 ore hatchet … that’s enough for me
I don’t need to cut down trees 🌲 … only to make small firewood for my stove 🔥🏕🌲
Tom
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Yeah, I know! I think your gear load out is pretty good. A bit on the heavy side when it comes to storage solutions but they look good and as a fellow leather workman I totally get the appeal to create your own pouches.
I was referring to presterjohn71 when asking about the ax. His load out seems a bit bare because with a small knife it's impossible to set up a real camp. You can cut down some branches but not thicker timber to make a more substantial shelter.

Tom

Thanks Robert 👍🏻😁 appreciate that very much my friend. Hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend 🏕🌤🌲
Nice to meet you! I enjoyed this while I stitched together my target arrow quiver. I ave begun carving some wood, but probably need to get or make one more tool before I can make a nice kuska wooden cup like yours. I have a knife and a gouge but I should probably have a spoon-carving knife.
Yeah that’s a good idea Jeff 👍🏻
A spoon knife is great for the last carving of a Kuksa 😊👌🏻
Thanks for your feedback and for coming along my friend 🏕
