When he pulled the string I thought "wouldn't that strap need those magnet buttons or something" and then he tied the string around the strap and the shape makes sense now. Brilliant! 😭
I am beyond happy this popped up in my feed! It was incredibly satisfying to watch and the urge to make a fleet of these with my old bags is now very high.
I totally learned something new today. I've been doing leather work for years AND Dremel work for years, and never thought for a second about combining the two to drill threading holes. Thank you for that tip.
That's really nice - and a clear presentation too. I don't really need one...but I sure as heck am going to make one...or two...now!I just had a thought, I have an old leather belt (with stitching holes already along the edge) that should work fine for the spine.
Thanks and love the calm music behind it, makes me feel like I was there watching you do it, for me is the best way to learn, looking at someone doing and enjoying the process.

10:00 If I can offer one bit of advice... use 2 needles and thread. Start one on the bottom, working up and the second on the top, in the same hole, working down. This way you have complete stitches all the way from beginning to end, instead of every other stitch. Just a thought.
I just made this today! I worked 11 hours straight(3 A.m till 2 P.m.) on it, I made it out of deco vinyl since I didn't have any leather and wanna get at least decent at it before I comit to purchaing the leather, it turned out a bit wonky due to my misplacement of the strip over the lacing holes, its by no means my best leather type craft that I've done but overall I'm really happy with it!
That is so cool 😎 I think it’s awesome that you can use an alternative material for the pouch 😁👍🏻 and made it 💪🏻 And I’m sure you’ll make it just perfect next time 🏕🔥 Tom

This is very cool! Thank you. I really like the music you played during this. A lot of videos have annoying percussion but this was nice and soothing and set th emood.
I was having a little trouble making the holes around the circumrerence come out even. First I drew a line through the center and used a protractor and marked every 20 degrees around one side of the protractor. Then I drew a line from each of those marks through the center to the other side of the circle. 20 degrees each - 18 holes came out perfect. With this method the size of the circle can be adjusted to make a larger or smaller bags.
Thank you for your channel and great videos. I have also started viking reneactment and i have enjoyed your videos and DIY videos lot. I actually now started to make similar bag using your instructions or tutorials as guide.

I saw on your website you’re an ornithologist. That’s awesome. I am a birdwatching enthusiast. I know all of my native birds and their calls. When I’m out doing anything I will stop dead in my tracks to observe interesting birds, especially ones I’ve never seen. It’s fun to catch birds as they migrate and see birds that are not supposed to be in your area. Did you know in Maryland USA we have a bird called the cow bird who is kind of similar to the cuckoo of Europe? They lay an egg in another bird’s nest for them to raise. They are very ugly though and have an unpleasant call. Still it’s part of nature. 😅
I love the music, the everyday tools you've used - such as a crappy pair of scissors and biro - and of course the fanbloodytastic pouch. I'm in the process of making a lady's Victorian hat for the races but I now NEED a viking/Norse belt pouch to go with it. Subscribed!
Would it be possible to use an oval instead of circle to create a deeper pouch? I have a hard time visualising what would happen to the sides and if it'd close properly. I feel it would work but the bellows "mouth" would be curved.

Nicely done, but wouldn't you save time and work just using a prong punch? I use the dremel for burnishing, but I feel that a drillbit would damage the leather. And as for the running stich... I haven't seen good results, usually the leather gets this "wavy" shape
