I wish the in-cockpit wheel rotation was more than 90 degrees. It's bothering me.

I was using that wheel earlier and found that the car would start to squirm when driving in a straight line and then spin out with the wheel staring to spin like crazy and I'm not sure what's causing it. Can anyone help?

If you watch telemetry you can see the physics engine is calculating inputs before the graphical steering wheel reacts, Seems to be a disconnect there. I don't think there is much input lag

I just got my wheel yesterday so I haven't done to much fooling around with it yet but 900 felt way too open for me. I don't have a rig or wheelstand yet either so I didn't wanna go too stiff for smaller turns and have my table wobbling all over the place so I'm using 480 and I like the feel of that one. I could probably dial it in a bit lower but just a random place I picked feels pretty good for me. Another thing annoying about the cockpit view is for some reason the driver's hands is always doing a paddle shifting motion even if the car is a stick, and even if you didn't shift on the wheel! He just randomly does it all the time and it can get annoying. I'm not sure why they haven't fixed that yet.
When and where can I get the t3pa pedals? Outside your show there is little information about them.

I wanted to update the firmware but my pc doesn't recognize the wheel. I installed the Xbox 360 controller driver already but it just says "Unknown" controller. Halp?
Oh and also, because the default brake pedal is so stiff it lifts the whole pedal set whenever I brake. I don't have a playseat or a stand or anything. Anybody got any tips on this?
My 2012 Focus, bought in May 2011, had hard spring to the right on the steering wheel, easy to the left. Turns out they had defective Steering Gears on 2012 Focus models made up to October 2011, they did not recall. Showed my dealer and they replaced the Steering Gear under warranty but had my car over a week to get it done. I think the factory fudged up and put 18" wheel steering gears on cars that only had 16" tires. Mine is 16" tires if I change to 18" I have to swap out the steering gear.
Got a question for you guys, what wheels & pedals are compatible with the Xbox One? Also can I mix and match pedals & wheels that are different Companies & if so what adapters (type & model) are recommended?

is there something wrong with my thrustmaster tx? whenever I play forza 5 i barely feel any force feedback, i also don't feel any of the bumps in the road through the steering wheel. My force feed back is at 100. The wheel works normally on pc games.
Until such time that I can use my barely 12 month old Fanatec CSR Elite wheel, I'm not getting the XBOne. So disappointing as this game looks fantastic!

I got myself this wheel 2 days ago, did the firmware update, used it for less than 2 hrs and it broke :( its stopped centering correctly, when on the pc it would lose connection. When I use it on my Xbox One all looks fine and as soon as the race starts it would turn 90 degrees right and believe that is center. Very very disappointed as its not a cheap wheel in South Africa and I was sooo looking forward to getting into the sim racing scene. Lets hope the new one they send me will work correctly.
contemplating getting the tx wheel for xbox one but im a novice so do you have any advice for someone who is keen to get serious with wheel racing? im really looking forward to project cars and love forza5!!
It appears that Forza Motorsport 5 looks a good simulation game (as a close match to Gran Turismo 6) for the consoles at the moment. Can't wait for the PS4/XBO Port of ProjectCars, that will be awesome. I suppose the Thrustmaster TX wheel is the only good wheel for the 8th generation consoles right now.

Another thing to spice up the competition, is that Fanatec announced a wheel rim for the ClubSport base. It has PlayStation buttons on it. This could decide the way console racers want to go for sim racing, but I imagine the Fanatec prise will be steep as usual.
That's the problem i have in Forza my car is not in sync with the wheel and i end up drifting and loosing control. I try 210 rotation. Now you are telling me i have to adjust to ff drive cars?
So I updated to windows 10, installed the TX driver, did the update and all however....There's NO CONTROL PANEL its so obnoxious. Did I miss something on install? It was there in windows 7, its so weird.

Does anyone know if this wheel will work for PC also?, and if not what wheel would work for both xbox one and pc? I'm trying to save myself some green and hopefully not have to buy two wheel systems when I can use one with both if possible. Any help and tips for anyone would be much appreciated....Thanks!

Hey. So I am having trouble with my cars tires spinning out with the thrustmaster. I decrease my speed significantly through turns but at 40-50mph the tires spin out and I crash into the wall. How can I adjust the thrustmaster so this doesn't not happen? Thank you to those who respond.

New firmware update for the wheel version 47 b9 includes:
- Added compatibility with the TH8A SHIFTER.
- Added the WHEEL SENSITIVITY ADJUST feature which, on Xbox One™, enables players to adjust the wheel's sensitivity level according to the selected rotation angle; 4 sensitivity levels are available.
- Added the AUTO-CLUTCH feature which, in some games for Xbox One™, enables players to select the “manual gear shift with clutch” option, even if they don't have a clutch pedal.
- Added the CENTER VALUE ADJUST feature, which enables users to reconfigure the wheel's preset center value.

Why dont Forza just adjust the degrees of rotation to match the car you are driving like AC does?

Interesting. I just got Xbox One and Forza 5 last weekend along with the TX 458 Italia wheel and GTE rim and I'm having trouble getting the right feel. My deadzone settings are almost identical to Darin's but I've kept the rotation high like I had it on my Fanatec GT2 for FM4. I'm going to try to lower the rotation like Darin did to see what happens.
My steering wheel is too stiff, why is that? How can i change?
yeah, Darin I believe the '57 Chevy has what people call armstrong steering. Don't know exactly when power steering became more common though. Very good video by the way. I'm just waiting for a wheel with stick shifting instead of paddle.

They will be available any day and before the end of the month. Check Amazon if you're in the states. Gaming seat depends on your budget and the shifter should be out sometime this summer.

Excellent video! Thanks so much for the informative overview on the effects of changing the degrees of rotation. The wheel manufacturers are pushing 1080 degree of rotation, as a selling point when 900 is obviously more than adequate. I look forward to experimenting with this on the pc as well. Clearly I am not short changing myself by 'only' having 900 degrees of rotation. I love the forza series and feel its worth the price of entry on the xbone. What does the Binder ID do on the steering column ?
when my tx wheel is pluged in it says controller disconnected. i can push the xbox button and it minimizes the game.
but dont recognize the wheel. push a to start. work great with forza 6.
Is the Thrustmaster TX wired or wireless for connecting to the console itself? Obviously it needs power...

Hi. It would be great if you could do a video on how to update the firmware on the thrustmaster tx wheel.
I don't understand how sims manage to fuck up degrees of rotation so much.
How it should work:
You set your wheel rotation to the maximum your wheel supports ingame. (ie 900)
Each time you load a car it will set the max rotation to the exact steering lock of the car. (ie 540 for a GT car).
Done. Only iRacing and Assetto Corsa do this properly afaik. If you need more sensitivity adjust your steering ratio in the garage/setup.

Inside Sim Racing Do you know what the proper degrees are in GSCE and rF? I've tried to find the correct rotation, and it seems I'm always off by a bit.
Each car has a different one, so the best thing to do usually is look up technical specs for the car.
Concur! Or at least give you the option to use real car specs or customize them. Think I'm going to get one of these for Christmas even if I have to buy it as a gift for myself!

Hi everybody. I use the mad catz pro racing force feedback wheel. My problem is, that i can't find a setup for it, to do the same laptimes as i do with the gaming pad... it whould be nice if someone can help me! (Sorry for the "school" english, i am from Germany ;) )

i have the same issue, my lap times arent as good and i feel the car easily gets out of control... ive been using very low sensitivity and force feedback at 20, its better than it originally was but just seems unrealistic to me.
about FORZA 5 : you can do better lap times only with a 3 PEDAL SET using a gear shifter too.
I am waiting for the thrustmaster T3PA pedal set to use it with my xbox ONE TX racing wheel, and my TH8A thrustamster gear shifter.
All these will drop my lap times dramatically since a MANUAL CLUTCH always saves 1/1.5 seconds response time than changing gears up and down using X and B buttons on the gaming pad...
I suggest that If you want to improve times with your madcatz wheel, try to inflate e.g add air pressure to your front tire one notch, and add negative camber in the front tire also in the TUNE CAR section..this should cut you off few tenths to your lap times i suppose....

I always use sim steering on all previous forza games, but this one seems so much harder than before. what are your thoughts? thank you for the excellent channel and videos very informative and well made videos. vidiatorUK I use sim steering and honestly haven't tried it in normal. I've heard it's easier, but I tend to lean towards whatever is hardest or more realistic. Thanks for the comment !

When you access the Thrustmaster Control Panel, what are your gain settings for Forza 5? Like spring, damper etc

I just got the TX wheel and after 5 minutes of playing Forza Horizon 2, the wheel seized up and smoke poured out of the base. So I returned it and got the regular 458 wheel without force feedback. Pretty bummed out
