I can't say as I haven't tried the MadCatz, but this is a quality wheel, one of the high end ones

gas and brake are supposed to be close together. when you have large feet, as in my buddy with his size 13s driving a honda delsol, you use just the tips of your feet. the brake needs to be closer to the throttle for performing racing techniques like toe-heel engine rev matching on downshifts.

The main reason why it doesn't come with 3 pedals, is because the Ferrari 458 doesn't come in a manual transmission. Plus, if they had added the clutch pedal, they would have needed a shifter as well. So instead of a $400 wheel, it's now priced at around $550-600+, taking it out of its intended market.
Reason its a 2 pedal, is because the 458 does not have a clutch, it has a paddle shifter, which doesnt need a clutch
Possibly a stupid question, but is it worth the price of the Xbox One again?

G27 or nothing after using it. Amazing the quality of the wheel. Going from a cheap Thrustmaster - not this one - it feels so well made.
G27 is great at first until you use a thrustmaster of fanatec. Then you put your g27 in the closet for good ... or put it up for sale in Ebay.

It is the cheapest wheel you can buy for Xbox One at the moment, the cheaper one does not have Force Feedback.
So i am definately getting this, i play racing games on PC and very likely Xbox One in the future.
I'll probably get the cheaper one as I don't want to fork out 300 pounds just for the added force feed back I don't need it really

Does your TX do full 900 degrees rotation on PC? Mine only does 860 degrees, just trying to find out if it's a common problem.
The T300 goes to 1080 degrees, but my TX is supposed to go to 900 degrees.

I have it its a great wheel I'm replacing it with the tx within a few hours of me typing this and it has a solid feel but after you do about 2000 races or so te gas pedal starts to feel weak because you get used to it because it has a really weak spring in gas pedal (weak as in soft as fuck I'm talking 5 pounds of force for full compression)

Does the Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Racing Wheel work on a Windows PC on the game PROJECT CARS? I'm new at sim racing and just purchased a gaming board, monitor, nice speaker system and even the Xbox controller for PC. The problem I immediately had/have is with the steering on PROJECT CAR. There is no "increment/decrement" just completely turned left or right. It's nearly impossible to play this game. So before shelling out more money on a wheel, I'd like to know if it will work. Any advice greatly appreciated.

you can buy the TX and hook up the F1 rim, or GTE rim and the T500 rim to the TX

I'm planning on buying a wheel for PS4 for games such as F1 2014. What would you recommend? I mean I'm not planning on a £200 wheel, but with a budget of £100.
i would wait for a good wheel to come out then for that budget
Your choices are the Thrustmaster T80 which is £90 but has no force feedback or the Thrustmaster T300RS which seems to the replacement for the T500RS (weird naming policy) and therefore is likely to be great. Nothing like the DFGT yet. Let's hope Logitech makes a PS4 DFGT replacement. I wouldn't count on it though because as far as I know Logitech has ignored sim racing since it launched the G27 is 2009. They'd be idiots if they don't though, I'm sure a ffb wheel for only £100 on the PS4 would sell bucket loads.

The wheel itself is putting me off so much. It looks so plastic and toy like. But this is the cheapest version of the tx or t300. Since I'm planning to replace the pedals with fanatec.

Any FFB wheel with 900+ degrees of rotation will probably work well with ETS2.
No wheel has over 900 degrees of rotation (that I've heard of or I've forgot a few idek)
UnlimitedThreat AirsoftTeam Thrustmaster's T500 certainly does (1080 degrees), and truly premium ones that go in to four digits in price support over 900 as well from my knowledge.
UnlimitedThreat AirsoftTeam T300RS also has 1080 degrees of rotation
The TX 458 didn't even last 24 hours for me. Motor blew out and literally started smoking. It's a shame because I use PC and XB1, so there are no other wheels at the moment for me, and I don't want to take a risk on another TX :-/
Oscar Meza It was store bought, so I just got a full refund. Reading reviews on Amazon and Newegg convinced me that this wheel is a lemon.

Would this wheel EVER work on the PS3/PS4? I know it says "Xbox One & PC" but I have used things made for Xbox 360 but then worked on PS3...
I think in theory it should work. Don't know how the d-pad and the Xbox button will behave though

Okay landed on my list. I will look how much FF the G27 will have on F1 2014. Hopefully not so less like now. It is so frustrating. You pay round 300 bucks for it and one fave game does support it, but not for 100%. Hope you can understand.

You have force feedback on curpes (how do you write 'em? :o) but in comparison to ProjectCARS it's *nothing*. Driving is possible, no question, but it's less fun :D
In ProjectCARS you feel *EVERYTHING*. Every Bump, Every contakt with grass just evrything. ProjectCARS is so *BOSS* xD

Go with forza Motorsport 5 and forza horizon 2 they have better graphics and are spot on with everything except for the engine sounds on the aventador project cars has off graphics and very inaccurate car sounds and scaling and I would buy wjat you are buying I'm buying my tx wheel tomorrow May 28, 2015 aka 3 days after my birthday because of paying bills and bullshit government shit

+JK The Spider doesn't work on PC, and has no FFB; in addition, the pedals are entirely plastic.

nope. F1 2014 is on PS3, Xbox 360 & PC. F1 2015 has been announced to be on PS4, Xbox One, PC early in the 2015 f1 season (i predict april)
