If you made a bench out of those panels no doubt someone would sit down thinking they were going to sit on a cushy leather sofa, lol. It looks great but I think if your idea of a dark red or brown shade to the finish would have turned out it would have been legendary. Love your channel
Fantastic! Such a great project with a fantastic realistic result, also a great video and commentary without any ear splitting awful background music. Thanks for taking the time to make, edit and post this.
Great work. For co?outing, the back was smooth edge grain, the front, it soaked into all the newly opened energy grain isn't the top curve of the leather is brown. All the cut fibres are darker/black. Maybe sand into the deeper areas with a thick sponge pad backer to try close those open pores??
I seen a guy do a diamond pattern last week and I was thinking "man thats cool Im gonna do that" and after that Ive been thinking how would you make it look like a couch. Looks so good man, looks so cool!
Very cool that you have a Shapeoko, I absolutely love mine! I would love to see an actual chair made with this texture that would be an entertaining piece 😆🫢👀
Me too!
Fascinating. I went back several times to watch the puffiness effect emerge and I still couldn't grasp how you did that.
ok, that's genius
Thanks!

Fantastic work, I wish I was at the skill level you are at. As you stated on the forum, sunlight will give you different hues to enjoy. Fantastic!!
Thanks! I'm really enjoying the light contrast I get with this. It was nerve racking putting the solution on it. Cheers
Totally sick design. Beautiful work!
Thank you! Cheers!
That's an awesome headboard idea. Incredible work
Thank you very much! A headboard in this would be pretty cool!
I never comment. Holy Cow. That is cool !!!!
Thanks!

Looks so good man, looks so cool!
Thanks! Weber does some great work!
Awesome.
Thank you! Cheers!
Freaken awesome! Wish I had a cnc to make this myself. Bravo!
Thanks! Check out Carbide3D.com, they really do have affordable options to get into the CNC Router space. Cheers!
Thanks Maurice
No worries, cheers!
Outstanding...think I'm going to put it on my list to do!
Thanks! If you do start making something like this, reach out if you have any issues, I'm more than willing to help out! Cheers!
This is looks amazing, good job
Thank you! Cheers!
Imagine someone throwing a phone at that "leather" ...
LOL!
Whoa! That looks awesome. I love the color man
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks great! I'm currently working on a keepsake box with the same pattern on top in purple heart. The box sides are in Birdseye Maple.
Very cool!!! The pattern really does make a great top for a keepsake box. Cheers
That's insane! Nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
I’m ordering some chisels…. I want to do this by hand!
Very cool! If you do…share some pictures on my Facebook site!
Maybe lightly sand the top of each pillow and apply a maroon Rubio???
Thanks for the suggestion on that, that actually might work pretty well. For this though, its really starting to grow on me. Cheers!
Stunning work pal,
New sub earned. 😊
Thanks for the sub!
Because you carved into it like that it basically becomes end grain which soaks everything up much darker.
Looks amazing! Sorry you weren’t 100% happy with the color.
Thank you! Its really starting to grow on me. Cheers!
A coat or two of tinted lacquer could put some into it.
That turned out super cool. So much sanding....lol.
Thanks! There was a lot of sanding on this, but so worth it!
Looks great. Would make a great headboard!! What grit was your final sanding?
Thanks! I sand to 320 in most areas. After the ferric nitrate was heated, I came back with 600 to knock down the popped grain.
Ive seen skilled asian woodcravers make the same thing with their hands. Im more of the cnc type person myself.
Yeah, I couldn’t imagine the amount of time it would take to do by hand. I absolutely love my CNC.
Do you use leather or wood conditioner. To maintain it?
lol a combination of both 🤓
I to have a Shapeoko and would love to know where I can get the tufted model.

I want to cover my bedroom walls in these and paint them white, so it looks like a padded room in a mental asylum. Wife won’t let me though… 🤷🏽♂️
Ha! I would say it wouldn’t have that nice padded feeling 🤓
